Added .tar of .txt extensions on download

Is there a way to prevent Safari from adding .tar or .txt extensions to files when downloading them. This happens for example for .tar.gz or .tar.bz2 files, which then get renamed to .tar.gz.tar or .tar.bz2.tar respectively; or files that have an ASCII header but binary data past that, which then get (incorrectly) .txt appended.
Or is this a server/mime-type issue? Even then, it would be good if there's a way to turn this "let's add a seemingly appropriate extension to this file" behaviour off.

I primarily use Firefox. I checked for the Adobe plug in and it is active and up-to-date. I used IE to test the following process: log on to wells fargo and open a bank statement that shows as a PDF. It opens as a PDF quickly and then I have the option to save or print, which also works fine. Following the same process with Firefox will not open the PDF, rather is downloads and saves it as a document names "session.cgi" If I change the extension on the save file to .pdf then I can open it with Adobe. Prior to the more recent Adobe update this was not the case.

Mp4 movies download with .txt extension

I notice others before had the same problem that was never resolved.
the problem is that when a mp4 movie is downloaded, it results in
a .txt extension and the browser window fills with text.
if the file is saved to disk and the extension is removed, it
plays just fine.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH SAFARI AND HOW CAN IT BE CHANGED!!!
any advice would be greatly appreciated. this seems like an unnecessary problem that should NOT exist.

I believe that the file is identifying itself correctly.
there is no problem with downloading the move in firefox or camino.

Default .txt extension of file with payment orders

Hello, Gurus!
I've configured default dicrectory and name in the OBPM4 transaction. However, every time I create file with payment orders and save it into the file system, the system saves it as a file with default name + counter, but without extension .txt. Therefore I've to change the extension of the file manually each time.
If I specify file name in OBPM4 as e.g. ABCD.txt, the system saves it as ABCD.txt0004 therefore I also have to change the name manually. Is there a way to specify the default .txt extension for the file with payment orders?

Hello Wirtschaftsmann,
you Need to select the check box " Output to file System". When you select this, the file will be save at the path with the way you want. But then, it will always be saved with the same same and will get overwritten when the next file is created.
When you fo not select this Checkbox, the file gets saved in Temse Directory and the System automatically puts a number at the end and this Counter gets incremented every time, so that the old file do not get overwrittenn.(As far as i remeber this Counter is till 9999).
In order to make the file saved the way you want and also do not want it to be overwritten, you Need to write your own logic (e.f. adding timestamp). for this, get in touch with your developer.

Attachment in UWL is opening except for .TXT extension file

The attachment in the workitem is oppening in SBWP for all file extensions, For the same workitem in UWL its not oppening. It opens only for .TXT extension files. Please advise how to fix this error.

Set default PDF extension for Downloaded Forms - Collaborator

Is there a way of making .PDF the deafult file extension for downloaded forms?
I'm trying to dteremine if this feature is controlled by the actual subscription type pr the access type.
I have a Basic User Account setup as a Collaborator on a form which I author under a Plus subscription. I would like the default file type to be .PDF for any forms that are saved with their own unique name. However, unless I include the .PDF as part of the file name, the file saves without an extension.
Is there a way that I can set this as a default for the Collaborator because having to remeber to add the file extension is a pain.

Nothing "built in" senses file type and sorts by it that know of, and I've not heard of any third-party options.
You can have pretty good control by slight mods to how you download:
1--Set up a dedicated Downloads folder in Documents if you don't have one. Point all you browsers to that folder for catching downloads.
from here you have two options:
2A--always display that folder sorted by "Kind." That put files of similar types together
2B--within the Downloads folder, create subfolders for different file types. If you do this, instead of clicking files for downloading, right-click them. One of the contextual menu options the right-click will reveal is "Download Linked Files as...." and will force a dialog box from which you can select the subfolder that will hold that file type.

Solution using File Text (.txt extension) as entry and JDBC as out

We need develop a solution using File Text (.txt extension) with separator, as entry(outbound) and JDBC SqlServer as out (inbound).

We defined the data type structure of file text likely the data content and structured in XI like this:

outbound (txt) -> inbound (txt) -> outbound (txt) -> inbound JDBC,
in Message Monitoring, showed just one message with status successfull and the target wasn´t reached ( the data was not writed in SqlServer).
We didn´t understand why the Message Monitoring didn´t show us the problem with the solution developed.

The interface does not look correct to me.
You dont need to create a text file out to send the data to a DB.
File -> Sender Agreement -> File Sender Adapter -> Content Conversion -> Integration Server -> Receiver Determination -> Interface Determination (Interface Map) -> Receiver Agreemnt -> JDBC Receiver Adapter.
You dont need to output the file for JDBC.
Install JDBC Driver for your SQLServer using following guide and use JDBC Adapter.

Just added about 30,000 extensions: Now PS takes forever to load

I have added about 30,000 extensions just to have a nice healthy choice of design options; however, now PS takes about 5 minutes to load. Since the .atn, etc. files have to be placed in the Presets area of the local installation in order to be loaded into the various palettes, how to get around this problem?

Just about everything can be loaded from any folder on your system. You do
not have to have things in the presets folder to load them. You will for
example with actions using the load or replace actions command and then find
the folder with them on your system and then choose the ATN file you want to
load. Styles, brushes, patterns, etc. all work that way as well. The point
of the presets folder is to have a select few accessible from the various
popup menus in Photoshop. You certainly don't want 30,000 things listed
there. Besides I very much doubt that there is very much in that massive
collection of 30,000 that are all that hot. Sure there a few good free
actions, brushes, pattern sets, etc. but not even close to 30,000 most are
just trash.

Automatic appending of file extension of downloaded files

Hello,
When downloading files with certain extensions (.doc, .xls, .ppt, .tar.bz2), Safari will append an extension to the file after the download is finished (.dot, .xla, .pot, .tar).
I don't know what exactly is the case of the problem, but I know this is a feature meant to correct the filename of downloaded files whose extension doesn't fit their MIME or UTI, or something along the line. For me, it is quite annoying since I download a lot of these files. It is annoying enough that I adopted Firefox as my main browser even if I prefer the sleek Safari design.
Some posts on the web point out this problem for Microsoft's extension and propose a way to fix it (modifying office package), but I am looking for a way to disable the feature from Safari. Effectively, it causes only annoyance on my computer and it has never been proved useful. I expect the file on Internet to have the correct extension and I don't like Safari trying to outsmart it.
Is there a way to disable the renaming feature?

I'm having this issue with xml files renamed to .ychat.
I noticed this after installing Yahoo! Messenger, therefore, there msut to be a way to undo this.
It's getting annoying since I use to download many xml files from web pages.

No extensions for downloads

Sometimes when Safari downloads files, mainly images, it doesn't save with an extension.
I have to manually rename it with ".jpg", or whatever file type it may be.
Anyone else experience this?

Is wasn't - I've just enabled it. Will see if that works.
The reason I left it unchecked was because I don't want to see extensions but it appears they still do show if not enabled.

We have could not find any java action class such as Maintainb2csaveorderaction in config.xml folder and also there is no available threads and clue on SDN, google etc. Therefore we are got stucked on this issue. In SAP_ISA_60 Development and Extension Guide of SAP E-Commerce there is no sample java action class code such as Maintainb2csaveorderaction but some ABAP codes are available for the extension structure.
Do you suggest any java action class such as Maintainb2csaveorderaction codes like in your B2B scenarios etc.?

Having trouble with the adobe extension manager---download taking too long?

Hello, I'm currently in the process of downloading the last of my CS6 web design and premium which consists of; Dreamweaver,Flash,Photoshop,Fireworks,Illustrator,Acrobat X,Indesign- Everything downloaded just fine except indesign and acrobat. The extension manager just keep downloading , its been 3 days--and I've had this problem for awhile and had not had the time to download etc.--Does anyone know what is wrong--can I download indesign and acrobat without the adobe extension manager etc.----????

Amazingly, I can't find from where to download the Extension Builder installer. What is the URL for the page from which I can download it

Going through the below advice I hope there is a way to build a extension using flash builder.
If you haven't already, take a look at the freely available CS SDK - you can build extensions with the free Flex SDK - or with Flash Builder (though, of course, you will not benefit on some of the accelerator tooling that Extension Builder provides).
Can you please brief me how to achieve this so that I can have my output as .ZXP to install it in extension manger.
