Adding a management server and a gateway server in existing management group
we have a scom2012R2 management group in which a management server sits in forest/domain A and a gateway server in forest/domain B, C, D, etc.
Now we want to add a second management server in forest/domain A and a second gateway server in forest/domain B.
My understanding is to add a second management server in domain A, I just need to run the setup wizard and join it in to the existing management group. I also need to import the certificate in the new MS. Is this right?
When adding the second gateway server, do I have to run the gateway approve tool on the first management server?
Thanks in advance
Yes, you are right, But to add a second management server in domain A, this server must join domain A.
To configure additional management server, you can refer below link
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh284673.aspx
And Also for adding second gateway, you will need to run gateway approve tool on the first management server and implement certificate.

Adding a management server and AD Integration
I have a management group with several management servers with AD integration. If I add a management server, will SCOM automatically add the Service Connection Point, or do I have to completely destroy my main AD container and re-run MOMAdAdmin?
Hi,
A domain administrator uses MOMADAdmin.exe to create an AD DS container for an Operations Manager management group in the domains of the computers it will manage. The AD DS security group that is specified when running MOMADAdmin.exe is granted Read
and Delete Child permissions to the container. By creating a container this way,
Operations Manager administrators are given the permission necessary to add management servers to the container and assign computers to them, without needing to be domain administrators.
For more information, please review the link below:
Using Active Directory Domain Services to Assign Computers to Operations Manager Management Groups
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212922.aspx
Note:
You should plan on waiting at least 24 hours for that to be updated in AD with 2012

Adding an OVM server back into OVM Manager after a reload
We have created a sandbox environment to test Oracle virtualization and had 2 physical servers setup. One running Oracle OVM and the other Oracle Linux. The Oracle Linux box had OVM Manager installed and was using local storage for the repository.
After about a month of running the Oracle Linux box was reloaded without saving any of the OVM Manager configuration information. After reloading the Oracle Linux box and installing OVM Manager my first issue was adding the OVM server back into a pool. We were getting the error that it was already being managed by another host. After a quick search of the Oracle forum I found a post suggesting that we stop the ovs-agent on the OVM box and remove a file.
These were the commands:
# service ovs-agent stop
# rm /etc/ovs-agent/db/server
# service ovs-agent start
After doing this I was able to discover and add the server into a pool. The next issue was when I went to look at the virtual machines hosted on the OVM machine. All 6 of the virtual machines that were created now show as "orphan_004fb0000060000...". In digging around I noticed that the repository for the local storage was not setup so when I go to try add the local disk back as a repository and I select "create a data repository: select physical disk" it comes back as blank.
If I click the storage tab and look under local file systems I see the disk and it has location repository specified and server listed under presented servers.
I am thinking the mapping is somehow messed up after adding the host back to a new OVM Manager and I need to relink the storage to the repository but am a little lost as to how to accomplish this.
I am trying to avoid reloading the entire OVM server so I don't lose the work already done with the existing virtual machines. To answer your second question first, It is an unclustered server pool.
When I run the refresh I get an error. Below are the details:

Once I connected my new server to my farm's config db, it returned all of the following missing locally. I stripped out any redundancies and Headings, and I'm left with 43. I'm looking for a efficient strategy. Should I start with the lowest version number
and work my way up? Current DB version is 14.0.7015.1000. IIRC, SP2 is cumulative, so can I ignore the first two (SP1 and Hotfix), install SP2, and then the Language packs and etc on top?

Thanks,
ScottThanks guys. I was able to get through all of the patches except for
Language Pack for SharePoint, Project Server and Office Web Apps 2010 - English missing locally
Language Pack for SharePoint, Project Server and Office Web Apps 2010 -
Spanish/Español missing locally
This was my process:
Config Wizard:
Adding Index server to existing farm, "Server Farm Product and Patch Status" returned 34 Missing Locally required products and patches.
SKIP installing the following two, as SP2 is cumulative
Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) (14.0.6029.1000) (officeserver2010sp1-kb2460045-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe)
Hotfix for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 (KB2775353) 64-Bit Edition (14.0.6105.5000)
install SP2 oserversp2010-kb2687453-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe
install oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe
Got "There are no products affected by this package installed on this system."
SO!
Uninstalled Sharepoint 2010 Server
WIll try to install again, without skipping #2, and reorder installation of oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe
Retry (the long way):
Run SharePointServer.exe, get Missing Locally...
Install oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe SUCCESSFUL
Install officeserver2010sp1-kb2460045-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe SUCCESSFUL
Reboot
Install oserversp2010-kb2687453-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe SUCCESSFUL
Rerun Config
STILL MISSING
Download oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-es-es.exe, run, "there are no products affected..."
Uninstall.
Re-retried, only got through the first couple:
Run SharePointServer.exe, get Missing Locally...
Install SP1 officeserver2010sp1-kb2460045-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe, SUCCESSFUL
Install English Lang Pack oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe, "There are no products affected by this package installed on this system."
Install Spanish Lang Pack oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-es-es.exe,
Install SP2 oserversp2010-kb2687453-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe, run Config Wizard
I'm now downloading 462150_intl_x64_zip.exe, going to try and install it as step three.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Can you use Multi Factor Authentication server with Central NPS and RD Gateway?
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience getting the Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on-premise server, working with a Remote Desktop Gateway server, and a centralised NPS server? I can get a solution whereby a user can get the second token (phone call/sms
etc.) but the connection never gets established. It looks like its looping as it repeats the phone call/text for a second time but again no connection. I can’t figure out why.
All the blogs are very vague as to whether you can combine a new MFA NPS connection policy with an existing username/group membership NPS policy on a centralised NPS server (with RAP/CAP policies).
I need to understand whether we can combine both an MFA Radius policy with a Username/Password plus group membership NPS policy together to achieve two factor authentication.
Do you have the Remote Desktop Gateway Server connect to the Central NPS server and then the NPS server use the MFA server as its proxy server? In effect turning the NPS server into a proxy Radius server?
Or do you configure the Remote Desktop Gateway server to use the MFA server as the proxy Radius server, and configure the MFA server to send on Radius requests to the central NPS server?
Or either of these scenarios not supported and you can only use the MFA server as the only Radius server in the auth. process? (bypassing NPS policies?)
Thanks if someone can assist,
I’ve been using these blogs but to no successful effect:

http://dave.harris.uno/installing-and-configuring-azure-multi-factor-authentication-mfa/Hi Michael,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
After going through your description, I can say that we can use MFA server with central NPS and RD Gateway. Also the link which you have provided points the step to apply. In addition you can refer below article.

Hope it helps!
Thanks.

Install Failing when attempted to Add a new Management Server into SCSM Management Group
Hello Experts
I am adding a additional MS into my current SCSM 2012 sp1 MANAGEMENT Group. But its failing with the below error message .One thing is little wiered here is ...that the wizard fails with the message that the UPGARDE FAILED , but I am not rying to upgrade
, I am adding a MS on a new 2012 vm. It goes all the way and install the services with the account , but then it rollbacks everything I am installing the bits with the same account which is the admin on the workflow server . I have created a registry
key ServicesPipeTimeout to 600000ms , but still no luck . The new VM is all up to date with patches , the sdk/config account is the admin on the new ms vm . The service manager db is a cluster , not sure if that's wats causing it .
SCSM2012 SP1
Primary Workflow MS : WIN2008R2

Hi Experts,
I have a typical situation in the LAB environment. Hope some one helps. I have Installed a SCOM 2012 R2 with SQL 2012 SP1 in a single server (Management group 1). I have installed another management group on another server using this SQL server for its database
so i have everything going fine.
The first management group has its reporting installed in the SQL server. For the second i created a new named instance for that. But i cannot run the SCOM setup in the SQL server (Also holding the Management group 1 MS) as 1 st reporting is already there.
When i run the setup it is asking me to repair it. I don't get the install option so i can install the reporting for management group 2 in the named instance.
Default instance is being used by the 1st management group.
Can any one figure a possibility for installing 2 SCOM reporting services for different management groups in a same SQL 2012 server please.
Gautam.75801Hi Yan Li,
Thank you for the reply. So as you are aware If i need to instal reporting, i need to run the SCOM 2012 R2 setup in the SQL server and select reporting and select the
instance and then mention the management server there right. I am not getting that option there it is asking me to remove or repair the existing installation as there is already a SCOM entire setup including reporting there. As it is a lab there is no problem
in testing. I have 2 reporting instances. Any suggestions for me on how to overcome this issue and deploy the second reporting in the new named instance ?
Below is the screenshot of the error what i am talking about when i run SCOM 2012 R2 setup to install reporting in the SQL server
When i click on add feature reporting is greyed out (As already 1st management groups reporting is installed)
When i click on remove or repair it
uninstalls the existing one. But i want both SCOM 2012 r2 reporting to be there(For both Management group). Is it possible ? If yes What is the trick to run the setup ?

Add an extra [Enter] after last line of etc/services.

Windows 8 and IE10 and 11 not accepting Proxy Settings via Group Policy from windows server 2003
Hi
We are still running Windows Server 2003 with a Win7 and Win8 desktop environment. I can control Win7 IE9 settings,
But Win8 systems are running IE10. We have an internal proxy server.
Is there any way to force the proxy settings to the Win8/IE10 or 11 systems .
i have tried with The IE 10 .adm template and applied gpo,but does not have any proxy settings for ie10 and no changes were applies
please can anyone help me regarding this
i want to apply GPO from windows server 2003 to windows 8 ie10/11
Thanks
KNCHi,
I agree with Zanderol24, we can install RSAT on a windows8 client, and then we can use Group Policy Management to manage group policy from the client.
For more information about RSAT, we can refer to the following link:
Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) for Windows Client and Windows Server (dsforum2wiki)
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2202.remote-server-administration-tools-rsat-for-windows-client-and-windows-server-dsforum2wiki.aspx
For more detailed information about how to use GPP to configure the proxy setting for ie10 and ie11, we can refer to the following link:
How to configure Group Policy Preference settings for Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2898604
When we use GPPs you need to be aware of the F5-F8 keys:
Red / Green: GP Preferences doesn’t work even though the policy applied and after gpupdate \force
http://blogs.technet.com/b/grouppolicy/archive/2008/10/13/red-green-gp-preferences-doesn-t-work-even-though-the-policy-applied-and-after-gpupdate-force.aspx
Besides, aside from using group policy to manage IE, IEAK can also be used to do this.
For IEAK, the following article can be referred to for more information.

Adding another application server.
Hi Experts,
My company is having 2 system landscape.
DEV & QAS in one and PRD in one server.
in recent years, my company is growing faster.
i.e increasing number of End users and database growth.
and now the task is to add 2 or more application servers.
my doubts about application server are as follows:-
1 *Deploying application server means is tht installation of sap central instance in
new server or installing an Dailog instance ?
2 *How to add new installed application server to the existing land scape ?
3 *how to group up the added application servers in to a group , so that the
user will get connected to sap by tht group of application server?
requesting you to give some inputs on adding new application server and
solution for database growth ?Hi graham,
You mean to say, if i install Dailog instance in new server and connected to lan with same ip class as PRD server. that will appear in SMLG.
so, there is no concept of selecting new server from PRD. i.e by STMS router or RFC .
and after adding the new application server i can create new group in SMLG
(by combining all the application servers, so tht user logons will be distributed.)
is that right.
if any RFC connection has to maintained from PRD to new application server.
please let me know that.
thanking you

Adding disk to existing disk group in ASM on the windows 2003 server.
Guys,
Can someone please share some opinions of adding an extra disk to an existing disk group ( DG_FRA ) in ASM on a windows 2003 server ( like any issues when bringing db backup ). This is a production database and I want to be careful , so that I don't have any issues with the database. Existing DG_FRA is 550GB ( size of the image copy is 325GB ),recently we have been running heavy loads and this is filling up the archive logs and forcing us to take incremental backups couple of times before deleting the archive logs. As a result of this we decided to add an extra 200GB so that we don't have to do this backups frequently during the day. Storage is on EMC SAN and the database is in 11G.
Thanks for all your help. There will not be any issues..
stamp the disk and then add the disk.
You can also follow this approach -
stamp the disk.
create a new group and then add a datafile in this new group for the existing tablespace. -
Adding Windows AD Server to Mac OD Domain
Help...
We are adding an Active Directory server to our network, to assist with larger groups and email issues. Problem is, through searching I've found people who say it is easy and others who say it will just fall apart. But... Nothing concrete about how to properly go about making sure it works the way it is supposed to...
Anyone know of any good articles or documentation about adding in a AD server? Eventually we need to promote it to the master and still have the mac servers as replicas (or at least still part of the system, so we can update them as needed).
Any thoughts?
At this point I have the server up and running, but it will not bind to the OD master. It keeps complaining about the username and password being wrong (even though they are not, and I've tried many different accounts). I tried adding the AD server as a replica of the OD master, and that failed as well. The OD server said that the replica was missing the Server app...
Thanks for any help with this, at all...

It won't work in the direction you're trying to go, never has and isn't even supported. Joining Windows AD to Apple's Open Directory has never been an option from Microsoft, and I would recommend strenuously (even vehemently) against trying at all (via any 3rd-party software) where a Domain Controller is involved. Just don't.
Your best & only option is in the other direction, and is built-in and supported by the Mac OS: Binding FROM the Mac (server or client) to Active Directly.
The best you could do is authenticate your Windows client (only !) machines to Apple's Open Directory via pGina, see http://pgina.org/
That will not provide any AD domain administration features at all as the Apple OD server doesn't even offer them = Group Policy, and more.

Problem adding WebLogic remote server
I'm running Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse version oepe-indigo-11.1.1.7.3.201107052114. Using Eclipse Indigo with JrockIt jrockit-jdk1.6.0_26-R28.1.4-4.0.1 as Java Virtual Machine on Windows 7 32 bits.
The problem is I can not find a way to register a remote Weblogic server. If I try to add a server, let's say Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.5), there are two fields Server's host name and Server name. In the next page, it only can be specified a local directory, and there is no way to add a remote one.
In the following page: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15315_07/help/oracle.eclipse.tools.weblogic.doc/html/conFeatureOverview.html#remoteDepm comes a guide, but definitely the screenshots there are not the same that the ones appearing in Eclipse when running the Wizard for adding a new server.
It happended the same, uninstalling the plugins zip file or adding software from Eclipse, on fresh installations with no other plugins added.
Is there a way to add a remote Weblogic server in Eclipse Indigo with the Oracle Enterprise Pack installed?
Thanks in advance.Hi,
You first need to create a RT selecting local instance before configuring remote server. Please retry the following steps:
Make sure you have a local instance of the WebLogic server (10.3.5)
In Server view, select New > Server | Oracle | Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.5) - click Next
For WebLogic Home, pick your local instance (ex: C:\wls-home\10.3.5\wlserver_10.3) - click Next
Now, you should see the option to configure between a Local / Remote WLS instance Let me know if you are having trouble resolving this.

Manage groups Access in Project Server 2013
I am currently set up as Administrator and Project Manager in the Project Server 2013 Account, however when trying to access the section Manage groups, I get the below error, can you please help me?
Sorry,

Many thanks,Hi,
Clear browser cache and ensure the browser has compatibility mode on and the PWA site is trusted. Also you can verify issue with In private browsing mode.
If Issue still persist re-sync your user profile by open and save thru Manage user and verify issue in different machine too.
Hope it will be useful.

And also remove -install, it's for Windows when you want it to be installed as a Windows Services. You should anyhow try to start it as mentioned before with opmnctl.
