Adding a record in a database using the jbutton

hi i'm a newbie of jdeveloper.. i just wannna ask how to code adding a record in a database POSTGRESQL using the jbutton.. i already connected in the database but in the model form it has already navigation buttons.. but i want to learn how to code the jbutton in a form without using navigation buttons. THANKS..

I guess you are talking about swing JButton.
If I remember it correctly you need to have a listener to the JButton something like this:-
http://www.javaworld.com/jw-03-2001/print/listing5.txt
Where on the cick of the button you will call a method that fetches the records from your Table

  • Delete old records in oracle database using jobs

    Hi,
    will it be possible to delete old records in oracle database using jobs
    need to delete old records on weekly basis and rebuild my index.
    Thanks!

    933633, While it is possible to do a great deal with the dbms_scheduler your shop should have a scheduler like CA Unicenter that is used to run the application job schedules. Purge jobs should probably be part of the normal application schedule rather than contained in the database, if your shop has a scheduler in use.
    As far as rebuilding the indexes after the purge keep in mind that freshly rebuilt indexes often have to split when inserts are performed due to the fact the compacted index blocks do not have room to hold the newly inserted keys in the appropriate locations. So just because you purge weekly does not automatically mean the indexes should be rebuilt weekly. You need to look at the index key DML pattern and at the total percentage of the index that is held by deleted rows.

  • Deleting records from a Database using JTable

    Hello!
    I have a JTable that displays records from a database and a Jbutton .
    If i press the button i want that the record coresponding to selectedRow(from the JTable) to be erased from the database.How can i manipulate selectedRow from JTable to do that?
    Pls any suggestions (and if it's possible +code)?
    Thanks!

    Hi Margot,
    Let's assume that you have created a table using vectors. Simply remove the element from the vector at row selected and redraw. Maybe not the greatest solution but should work.
    Vector rowData = new Vector();
    //read in values for each row
    Vector headers = new Vector();
    //add your headers
    JTable table = new JTable(rowData, headers);
    int row = table.getSelectedRow();
    rowData.removeElementAt(row);
    table = new JTable(rowData, headers);HTH,
    Chris

    I can record voice memos fine using the built-in iPhone 4 mic.  And my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone Era) works fine when I leave messages on voice mail systems etc. when calling on the iPhone 4, so it appears my headset mic is fine.  I can also use voice activated dialing, although it fails miserably interpreting numbers.  However, I cannot record voice memos with my Bluetooth mic.   I just get barely audible static.  Any suggestions?   Thanks.

    Hello, did you ever get an answer to your question? I just picked up a Jawbone Era and using on an iPhone 4s running 5.0.1. Seems to work fine on regular calls, but not on the built in Voice memos application. It worked fine on my older Jawbone Icon, but haven't tested on the 4s or iOS 5.
    Thanks!

  • I want to connect to a Profile database using the Sanchez JDBC Driver.

    I want to connect to a Profile database using the Sanchez JDBC Driver. Is that possible? Would I need to create an extension?

    You can't do it directly - only those databases listed in the help under third party databases are supported.
    You may well be able to write an extension to connect to an additional database, but it seems like a lot of work.

  • If the production database i down, how to switch to standby database using the replication environment in ASsE

    This question is in Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
    if the production database is down, how to switch to standby database using the replication environment in ASE

    Assuming you're referring to Sybase's Replication Server (repserver) product ...
    Repserver moves data changes from one database to another.
    Repserver can't 'switch' your application to use a different database; something outside of repserver has to do the actual switching.
    If your application happens to be connecting to your ASE via Sybase's OpenSwitch (or similar) product, then OpenSwitch would be responsible for switching your application to use the standby database.  Whether you have OpenSwitch perform the switch automatically, or via a manual command, is up to your BCP requirements.
    If your application connects directly to ASE then you'll have to decide how/when to get your application to switch to the standby database.  In the simplest form this would require shutting down the application, making sure replication is quiesced (ie, all in-flight transactions have been applied to the standby database), modify the interfaces/sql.ini file (used by your application) to point to the standby database, make any customized changes to the standby dataserver/database (eg, unlock application logins, take databases out of 'dbo use only' mode, etc), and startup the application (at this point it should connect to the standby database per the changes to the interfaces/sql.ini file).

  • How do you insert new records into multiple tables using the same unique primary key?

    I’ve created a PHP site and MySQL server using a free app called XAMPP.  I have successfully created a form in Dreamweaver that will write data to a (name) table in the SQL database.  Here’s my question: How do you write to two (or more) tables in the same database and pass the same primary key to both tables?  In the SQL database, I defined the first field as ID and set it as the primary key with auto update.  So, when you insert a new record, it creates a unique primary key for that record.  In my form, I’m capturing info that needs to be stored to two tables at the same time; a Name table and Address table. Since the Name and Address tables use the ID field as the primary key, I believe I will need to pass the ID value from the Name table to the insert of the Address table to insure they both have the same primary key, right?

    No. You probably need the primary key from one table to be a foreign key in the other tables. In any case, I believe you can use two methods to obtain the auto generated key. First with SQL:
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/getting-unique-id.html
    And the other using a PHP function:
    http://us3.php.net/mysql_insert_id

  • How to lock a record in a database using java

    hi,
    i want to lock a record in a database. how could it be done.
    if any body has idea pls share with me

    Ok, then you can create a simple lock:
    The idea is same, but this allow you to lock multiple id at the same time:
    static Object LOCK_FLAG = new Object();
    static Object[] locker = new Object[1000]; // assuming you have id 0-999 to lock
        this function will wait until current thread succesfully
        locks all the ids to lock.
    public void lock( int[] idsToLock) {
       while (true) {
           synchronized(locker) {
              boolean success = true;
              for(int i=0; i<idsToLock.length; i++) {
                  if (locker[ idsToLock[ i ] ] != null )
                     success=false;
                  if (!success) break;
              if (success) {
                  for(int i=0; i<idsToLock.length; i++)
                     locker[ idsToLock[ i ] ] = LOCK_FLAG;
                  locker.notify();
                  return;
              locker.notify();
           try {  Thread.sleep(100); } catch (Exception ex) { }
        this function will wait until all locks are released
    public void releaseLock( int[] idsToLock) {
       synchronized(locker) {
           for(int i=0; i<idsToLock.length; i++)
                 locker[ idsToLock[ i ] ] = null;
           locker.notify();
    }How to use:
    int[] recordToLock = new int[] { 1, 100, 55, 32, 25 };
    lock(recordToLock); // lock before modify ..
    try {
       // do anything with your records ...
    } catch (Throwable t) {
       // if any exception ...
    } finally {
       releaseLock(recordToLock);  // make sure this will always be executed
    }rgds,

  • Oracle TDE - Can multiple databases use the same Oracle wallet?

    Oracle Advanced Security Transparent Data Encryption
    I will have 2 or more databases running under the same Oracle 11.2 home. According to Oracle's documentation, it is preferred to reference the wallet via the sqlnet.ora file. That's fine. My question is if I want to use encryption in each of those databases, then I have no choice but to use the shared wallet then, correct.
    I need to confirm that I have not missed something.
    From Oracle's documentation:
    Specifying a Wallet Location for Transparent Data Encryption
    If you wish to use a wallet specifically for TDE, then you must specify a wallet location in the sqlnet.ora file by using the ENCRYPTION_WALLET_LOCATION parameter.
    Oracle recommends that you use the ENCRYPTION_WALLET_LOCATION parameter to specify a wallet location for TDE.

  • ? - Is there a way to validate 1 XML record at a time, using the SAX or oth

    Hello!
    Before running into space problems, i generated an XML file from a 'pipe delimited' file and and then processed that XML file thru a SAXParser 'validator' and the data was correctly validated, using the RELAXNG Schema patterns as the validation criteria!
    But as feared, the XML file was huge! (12 billion XML recs. generated from 1 billion 'pipe' recs.) and i am now trying to find a way to process 1 'pipe' record at a time, (ie) read 1 record from the 'pipe delimited' file, convert that rec. to an XML rec. and then send that 1 XML rec. thru the SAXParser 'validator', avoiding the build of a huge temporary XML file!
    After testing this approach, its looks like the SAXParser 'validator' (sp.parse) is expecting only (1) StringBufferInputStream as input,and after opening, reading and closing just (1) of the returned StringBufferInputStream objects, the validator wants to close up operations!
    Where i have the "<<<<<" you can see where i'm calling the the object.method that creates the 'pipe>XML' records 'sb.createxml' and will be returning many occurances of the StringBufferInputStream object, where (1) StringBufferInputStream object represents (1) 'pipe>XML' record!
    So what i'm wondering, is if there is a form of 'inputStream' class that can be loaded and processed at the same time! ie instead of requiring that the 'inputStream' object be loaded in it's entirety, before going to validation?
    Or if there is another XML 'validator' that can validate 1 XML record at a time, without requiring that the entire XML file be built first?

    Well,i think you can use the streaming API for xml processing provided by weblogic.It is pull model,not push model like SAX.with it,you can select the events you want without having to react to every event,and you can filter the events out.
    Sun also provide such streaming API for xml processing,and i got an very simple introduction about it on the Chinese Sun developer site.but i couldn't find any other infomation about it elsewhere! If you have such materials,please send to my email:[email protected],and if I have it,i will be sure to post the links here.hope it helps more or less:)

    Thanks

    Hi Gajendra,
    You can mainly read records from MDM (in a DDIC structure) using ABAP API's using the following function modules/methods:
    1. RETRIEVE: This is used to generically retrieve records from tables. Attributes and Values can also be retrieved.
    2. RETRIEVE SIMPLE: Retrieve records from MDM in a simple way.( simple data types).
    3. RETRIEVE CHECKOUT: Retrieves all checked out ID's.

  • Adding e-mails to Adobe Portfolio using the Outlook Plug-in

    I support a user here who is asking if it is possible to add additional emails to an Adobe
    portfolio using the Outlook Plug-in.  The user initially creates a portfolio of emails using the plug in, but would then like to add further emails to the portfolio (e.g. from other subfolders in Outlook, etc.).  Is this possible, and, if so, how is it accomplished?

    Outlook 2013 (and for that matter Office 2013) are supported by Acrobat 11, not Acrobat 10 which was released well before Office 2013 was released.

  • Cannot connect to database using the Upgrade Simulation Tool

    I have installed the Upgrade Simulation Tool on my system and when I try to run the tool my system works in the for awhile in the background and creates the _Simulation mdf and ldf files and a .bck file.  After 3 or 4 minutes it gives me an error "Cannot connect to the database".
    It looks to me like it is connecting to the database because it is creating the files in the SQL Data folder.  I have tried to run it on several databases and get the same results.
    Thank you, Jeff

    Hi,
    You may not have the ability to upgrade it directly.
    He does have the ability.
    When downloading Pl 42, it is cleary marked as "Upgrader", which means it can be used for upgrade (in this case simulation) from a lower version than 2007A
    Patchlevel which are marked as "patch" are suitable only for updating the PL within the very same version of SAP Business One.
    This tool should run under 2007 system I believe.
    The Upgrade Simulation tool was designed in orderto test an upgrade, therefore it can run at a machine where 2005 version is installed. Technically speaking it creates a second SBO-common, which can be used only with the special designed (read only) client of the tool.
    Jeff, you should check access rights of your SQL Data folder.Maybe grant user "Everyone" modifying rights to that folder. In addition you could try to detach a DB and move the related *.mdf and *.ldf to another folder where no access denied rights were applied.
    If using MSSQL 2005 create via ODBC a Native Client connection to the Server, although you might just working locally only.
    Regards
    Mario
