Adding additional Email Address (Email Alias) To DL

Hi,
I have 1000 DLs and each DL has around 5 existing email addresses. I want to add 6th one now to all 1000 DLs. Is there any way to add additional email address without overwriting existing ones? The command below is deleting existing email addresses
Set-DistributionGroup "ABC Group" -EmailAddresses SMTP:[email protected]
I want to add without deleting older ones.
Hasan

$DG=Get-DistributionGroup -resultsize unlimited
$DG.EmailAddresses +="[email protected]"
Get-DistributionGroup -resultsize unlimited | Set-DistributionGroup -EmailAddresses $DG.EmailAddresses
Important: Test first against only 1 or 2 groups before applying in bulk

  • Adding additional email addresses to From field

In the default iOS Mail app, how can I add additional email addresses to the "From" field? It only allows me to select accounts which are set up on the phone. However I have one email account which forwards to another, but I want to respond to those messages using the original address it was sent to.

    SOLVED.
Once a ePrint job had been submitted from each of the email addresses I added in the Allowed Senders Only list, all emails showed up on the ePrint Settings list. Works fine.

  • Adding .mac email alias to entourage

I want to add my .mac alias to entourage so I can send from my alias. I am already receiving mail sent to my mac alias in entourage. Help

Aliases are, as the name says, just aliases for one and the same mailbox. Aliases are not seperate mailboxes. All mails sent to either the main address or to one of the aliases will all end up in the same mailbox.
You can, however, purchase or upgrade to a .Mac family pack or buy additional email-only accounts. See here for details:

  • Adding additional email to messages?  Just keeps verifying.

I am trying to add additional email address to my messages.  Just keeps saying "verifying".  Is it because my husband and I share same email address and both have iPads?

You can share an Apple ID and still Message between two different devices as long as you add another email address to one device to be used as the "contact at" email address for that device.
Quit Messages complelety restart your iPad and try again.
From your home screen - Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Messages app. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad and then try to add the email address again.

  • Not receiving iMessages after attempting to link accounts by adding additional email address.

I tried to link my daughters iMessages (iPod) to my account (iPhone). On my iphone I went to settings/ messages/ send and receive/ add another email. I was told that I could not add her email address and was directed to 'cancel' or 'remove email address'. I chose to remove it and was told that 'you will no longer be able to receive iMessages from (email address) on any device. Foolishly I continued and now she is not receiving her messages. How can I get them back?

Go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and sign out of your ID and then sign in again.

  • Adding additional email addresses

My wife an I just bought a new iMac, and I'm trying to configure our Mail application.
We both have email addresses under the same service provider. I was able to set up my email without any problems, but how do I add her email address to our account?

If you click on the preference tab (Under Mail) it will open up a window where you can change the settings for mail.
The second category from the left in top is the Accounts section.
select that and it will bring up your email address info.
At the bottom left of the window there are two little + and - buttons. Click the + button to add another account.
It will walk you through the set up and you can simply add your wife's info and you should be good to go.
    Congrats on the new iMac!

  • Why can't I add additional email addresses to my Apple ID?

In my family we share the same Apple ID.
However, we would like to be able to use iMessage and Facetime amongst the different units (iPhones/iPads), which requires me to have several email addresses registered under the Apple ID, as all units (ie. the iPads) do not have associated phone numbers.
However, when I add them directly under Settings -> Facetime/iMessage -> Add Another Email it gives me an error (unspecified - it just says an error occured), when it tries to verify my email.
I then figured that I needed to have all these different email addresses registered to my Apple ID we all are using. Hence I went to appleid.apple.com and signed in to manage my Apple ID. I tried adding additional email addresses under "Add Email Address". But when I push "Save Changes" after having added another email address nothing happens. It just sits there.
I have tried several different browsers on different Macs and even on the iPad, but all with the same result.
    Can anybody help?

    Hey Thomas,
I was able to get my MobileMe email address verified tonight...  I logged into the Manage Apple ID website with my MobileMe email address and it again said it's own email address wasn't Verified.  So I tried, for the **** of it, to add an additional Alternate Email Address and added the MobileMe email address for which I was logged in as.  It immediately took the email and marked it verified with the green check mark.  The only thing, my MobileMe.com email address shows up as the Primary and then again listed under the Alternates.  I tried deleting the one listed under the alternate but it doesn't go away.  I'm just trilled it's now verified and I can log in and use my MobileMe email address in the iMessage, FaceTime and Find My Friends services!
I still cannot, however, delete my MobileMe email address that's still listed as an un-Verified alternate on my old iTunes Apple ID, but it's not affecting the fact that my MobileMe email address is NOW verified on my MobileMe Apple ID!
So all is finally working now, after a week, and after being on Apple's Express Lane Chat and to the store's Genius Bar on Thursday 10/20 which were both a joke.

  • Delete email alias?

    Hello
I remember years ago with .mac it was that I set up additional email alias's within the web based email account. Anyway I need to delete these 3 now as they are not in use. I notice within the iPhone you iOs 6.1 that you can turn the alias's off but really they need deleting and can this be done now what with the iCloud switch over?
    Help would be appreciated,
    Nick

First off, Thanks for the clarifications.  I've always hated the entire Apple concept being so propriatary, even since the days of MS-DOS and Windows 3.1, but having bought my first apple product ever (iPad) last Thanksgiving I've since bought the iPhone5 and I'm days away from the 27" iMac with the i7 processor.  I'm a going to be a lifetime mac fan, but for now, I'm still fresh, so thanks.
Second, the only reason why I got ID-2 was because I wanted to snatch up my new business name before someone else did, but after exploring the interconnectivity of the iCloud products, I actually want it as my alias, and not my ID.  This *****, my fault obviously, but it still *****.
Third, do you think Apple support will help me if I contact them in making this transition, or are all requests denied right off the bat??
Finally, what if I say pretty please?!

  • Email alias problem

    Hi everyone,
I added an email alias (mail>preferences>account>) and saved the settings as told to in Mail Help. The alias is appearing in a drop down box but the messages get held in the outbox? I am able to send them from the mobileme site, just not from mail itself. Any ideas?!
    Thanks in advance!

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't help & you can afford to redo any Mail Rules...
    Trash these files...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/... MessageRules.plist and MessageRules.plist.backup

  • Cannot add additional email address.

I am trying to add an additional email account to my iphone but the 'add account' option is grayed out. Help?

As far as adding alternate e-mail addresses to be associated with a single Apple ID, after going through the steps that you mentioned, you should get a verification e-mail each time you add an additional address.
As Apple states; "Verify your changes by following the link in the e-mail you will receive from Apple and signing into your account."
Simply stated, it sounds like you are not verifying the new addresses after you enter them.  I am not sure if the verification e-mail goes to the new e-mail address you added, which is likely, or the original, so check both.

I want to use one of my icloud email addresses as a new apple ID.  It was an additional email contact address I originally set up for my child.  But now, I'd like to set her up on Family Sharing, using that email as her ID.  Obviously, when I try to use it when setting up a new apple ID, it says the email is already being used (Yes, by ME) and I need to select a different one.  Can I somehow delete that email address in order to set up a new apple ID using it?  Or is there another way to "re-use" that address for my child's new ID?

"Well, then I want to be able to merge that one and the one my purchases are on..."
This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
    I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.
    Best wishes -

My daughter is 7 and I don't allow her to download anything on her iPod touch. I have to put in my password for anything to be downloaded. Recently when putting in my password, I am being ask to enter in an additional email address for verification purposes.  I need to know why this is.  I have 1 email address that I use and don't see a reason to create a additional email address.
Can somebody tell me if this is normal?
    Thanks
