Adding calendar to parameter form

Hi... do u know how to add calendar in parameter form in Oracle Apps ??
the standard parameter in oracle apps just in teks like 25-Aug-2009 not in calendar visualization...

You will need the Assembler Invoke DDX operation to do this. It can be found under the common category. Inthe DDX reference it will show you how to add attachments to the PDF.

Calling report from form and after parameter form trigger

Hi, I've also posted to this to the reports forum but because it works from Reports Builder it may be a forms issue which is why I'm x-posting. Apologies.
I have a report that creates a file, desname is set in the after parameter form trigger (it uses one of the parameter values).
The problem is file is not created using the path and filename set in the trigger, the file is created in the bin folder with the name account_by_service_type.txt (account_by_service_type.rdf is the report definition).
If the desname is set in the before parameter form AND a field with the source=desname is added to the parameter form then the file will be created with the correct path and name however it won't have the relevant parameter incorporated into the file name obviously.
I've noticed in other reports that where the desname is being set in the after parameter form that I've had to pass the desname from the form but obviously I cannot do that here either.
Am I missing something obvious?

i have a problem with a simple Parameter Form:
I have one page; on this page i have a simple Parameter Form and an OmniPortlet (the pageParameter is 'Field1' and is mapped to both portlets!)

now my problem: when i type my parameter in the simple param form it is displayed in the url (http://mypage<b>&Field1=10000</b>).<br> the omniportlet displays the right data. all right so far!

but now i type a new parameter in the simple parameter form and now the url looks like this: http://mypage&Field1=10000<b>&Field1=20000</b><br>The parameter shouldn't be added to the old url, but a new url should be created with <i>one</i> new parameter.

Where is the problem? i cant find any solution?

Hi,
There is a step you are missing.
Open the page properties for the page where the Simple Parameter form and the Omniportlet resides.
Go to the Events Tab.
Here you will see "Portlet Events". There will be a list of portlets that are added on this page. Click on the "Simple Parameter Form".
Under this you will find a link called "Submit". When you click on this link, it opens options on the right hand side of the page.
Here, under the heading "When this event is raised:" Click the Radio Button "Go to page:" and then click on the button for the LOV on the right side of the box, a pop-up opens, select this page itself. (For Example, if the name of the page is PAGE01 (where we have added this Simple Parameter Form and the OmniPortlet), under the Page Group PG01, then click on the link called Return Object for PAGE01 under PG01 from the pop-up).
After doing the above step do this:
Right Below this, you will find another heading called "Page Input" which will have the list of page parameters. From the first drop down list select "Event Output" and from the second drop down list select "Parameter 1" (If there is only one parameter. But if you have more than one parameter, select the "Event Output" & "Parameter 2" respectively, and so on). Make sure that you match the correct page parameter with the Parameter drop down otherwise your results will vastly vary or there might be no result.
We are pretty much done.
Now just click on the buttons "Apply" then "Ok"
Test your page. It will not add &Field1=<value>&Field1=<value>...... any number of times you run this.

Parameter Form not calling the Main report - Gives REP-0110, REP-1070, REP-0110 error

I am using run_report_object to call a report in which the user has to input some paramters. I have followed the instructions as in the Oracle White paper document on Forms/Reports integration.
The paramter report does come up but when I hit the submit button, I get an error
REP-0110: Unable to open file 'rclug005'.
REP-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
REP-0110: Unable to open file 'rclug005
I've checked the privileges and everything's fine on that front. Also, I can get to open the report with the web.show document built-in with paramform setting = No.
I am guessing something's wrong with the html constructed in the parameter form which is,

I am building the variable exactly as in the White paper in the "before form" trigger using exactly the same values give there.

My report has some extra parameters too it expects. So do I have to include the names of those parameters too in the string above?
For example, in my report a user parameter is named 'print_date', which I do see and populate with value in the parameter form, then do I have to build that in the vc_hidden_runtime_values string above.
I am using Report 6.0.8.11.3 on 9iAS.

How to Place the report in the WEB from Parameter Form

Hello folks,
We are using report 9i.
From the one our form we are going call the report and get
the parameter from Parameter form and generate the PDF format of report and show it in the WEB browser.
Tried with option DesType "Cache" and Desformat "PDF" in the parameter form. It generates but does not show anything anywhere.
But the following way it works. By calling from Browser directly and pass the parameter.
/reports/rwservlet?report=Weekly_Status_3.rdf&userid=user/pass&destype=cache&desformat=pdf
I would like to goto Parameter form, accept the values and generate pdf report and place it in the browser automatically.

have paramform=yes added to your url, it will work.

ideally all these can be set in a report server's config file cgicmd.dat.

Order by in Parameter form for a formula col

Hi,
I have made a report for fast moving products and have ordered by on a formula column. Is there any way to select the order by (ascending or descending) in the parameter form at runtime for the same formula column. Instead of making two different reports one for ascending and one for descending, is there any way the user can select at runtime in the parameter form?
For the same report, how can I specify Top 100, Top 50, Top 25 etc.

Thanx for your reply but unfortunately it dint work. It dint show me any error as such but the ordering did not take place.
The issue is that I need to do the ordering on the Formula Column. Simply adding an order by statement like ' order by :cf_4 ' shows an error. Though routing it through the variable dint show any error it neither did serve the purpose.
I need to find a way in getting the ordering on the formula column. Then I need is Top n number of products to be displayed based on the order by of the formula column.
Pls help me out on this.

Not getting Reports Parameter Form in web-forms environ

I am not able to get a report parameter form to appear for a
report called from forms via a 'run_product' command. It works
fine in client/server mode. In web-forms the report just goes
ahead and runs without the needed parameters. I have tried
explicitly passing a parameter list with the 'paramform' set to
'yes' and this did nothing. I have this on a NT box with latest
Dev2 patches applied.
1. Is the reports parameter form supposed to work in web-forms
mode?
2. How do you set it up to work, if it is supposed to work?

PARAMFORM=HTML is specified, then the Oracle Reports parameter

RUN_PRODUCT, and it's these thin clients that produce the HTML
Oracle Reports parameter form.
As a workaround to this problem, you can use either the
Cartridge or the CGI with the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT Oracle Forms
builtin. This does require either the Oracle Reports Cartrige
or the CGI to be installed. Neither of these are necessary if

Making parameter form appears

i have a problem regarding showing parameter form that made by report developer when i call the report from my form
first i use winXP sp3, database 10g ,developer suite 10g
the problem is as follow:
the report run perfectly from report builder and the parameter form appears but when i call the report from the form the report appears without parameter form screen and this make report empty

Report 10g: Runtime Parameter Form

Is there any way in Reports 10g to trigger Parameter Validation just after
user enters a Parameter?
I would like to have dynamic LOV in Reports Parameter Form....
So contents of LOV list items in Report Parameter #3 would depend on the user selection from LOV in Report Parameter #1

It is not as simple as just adding this parameter to the URL. You have to do some coding too.
The basic problem is that the paramform code contains a HTML FORM without any action. So, you have to create an action yourself.
See Metalink note 139546.1 on how to modify your reports (there should be a white paper on OTN too, but I can't find the link anymore).
Bottom line is: yes, it is much simpler to use Forms as your parameter form.

How to display a Report 9i from Forms if the Report has a Parameter Form?

I think you specified report object name incorrect.
in command line:
repid := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('REPORT1');
Report1 must be name of report object in Form Builder.
However to call report from Oracle Form you must do more work. For example:
- Create report server name
- Adding some code to set property for report object base on report server you created.

the functionality for the reports parameterform is very basic.
if you want to do more sophisticated parameter forms, you have
to use oracle forms or HTML technology to do that.

ADF Parameter Form problem

Hi all. I'm using the new JDev 10.1.3. I tried to add a Parameter Form as described in the "Build a Web Application with ADF Business Components and JavaServer Faces" Tutorial at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/masterdetail_adf_bc/master-detail_pagewith_adf_bc.htm#t7.

Adding fields to a form based on stored procedure

I have a store procedure and a form based on it. I'd added a new parameter to the store procedure. How can I do to add a field in the form which takes the new parameter. I'd tried adding a new field with the same name of the parameter but it didn't work.

Passing national characters from parameter form

Hi,
I have parameter form with field which is passed and visible in report. When I enter some national (polish) characters in this field I get '?' in my report in place of that character.
I've edited uifont.ali and screenpriner.ppd and everything else in report is ok, I get polish characters on web and pdf.
I'm working in SuSE Linux in DeveloperSuite 10g Release 2.
I've set variable NLS_LANG anywhere I could (linux shell, reports.sh), also DEFAULTCHARSET in $DEVELOPER_HOME/reports/conf/rwservlet.properties.
I've tried to hardcode BeforeFormValue and added there '<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-2" />' but nothing changes.
I always get ? in my report. Any suggestions?

Hi,
another place where you can set NLS_LANG that you can use later in your report is in the configurazion file: <server>.conf
in the directory $ORACLE_HOME/10Grep/reports/conf.
Here you can insert the following elements into the <engine> element:
<environment id="IT">
<envVariable name="NLS_LANG" value="ITALIAN_ITALY.WE8MSWIN1252"/>
<envVariable name="NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS" value=", ."/>
</environment>
Then, when you call your report using a html form, you must insert this hidden input tag:
<input type="hidden" name="ENVID" value="IT">
Obviously you have to change the value of NLS_LANG to polish.
