Adding commandLink to custom control

I'm trying to create a custom control.
I want to add a commandLink but really don't know how to bind to an action defined in the faces-config file. The commandLink is just link for navigation.
I've put my code for the controle in de encodeBegins because i don't really need to use different renderers.
How can i add the commandLink to my custom control and bind it to an action?
THe action hasn't to be defined in an argument but is hard coded for now.
I hope it's clear what i need....

Hi Poorna,
   Thanks for the reply.
I have to add field to the txn QM02. User will specify the value for the custom field in this txn and the same should be updated in the database table.
The field is not a std SAP field, it is added to the table using append structure.
Thanks,
Punit

  • Using a Meter control in LV Touch Panel, and using shared variables that are custom controls.

I Just started using LV touch Panel module with an NI TPC-2106.
    I have two differenct problems:
    1) I was planning on using the "Meter" control quite a bit. I can set up the meter exactly how I like on the host PC, but on the touch Panel computer it seems to ignore my adjustments, mainly the start and end of the scale - i.e. I would like control to run from 0 to 360 with 0 straight up, using the entire circle. However, on the Touch panel computer it always puts 0 at about 7 o'clock and 360 at about 5 o'clock. I have also tried adding markers to no avail.
    2) I am communicating with a compact fieldpoint controller. I can creat a shared variable that is a simple double with no problems. However, I have some shared variables that use a custom control for the variable type - bascially a cluster with a couble doubles, a time stamp, and an enumeration. It lets me drag the shared variable into my diagram, but it seems to ignore it when I run it.

    Ipshita_C,
    - I am using LV 8.6.1f1and LV Touch Panel 8.6.1.
    - I have attached a simplified VI that shows how I want to use the meter. Notice that the placement of the endpoitns does not work correctly on the touch panel, and that it ignores the arbitrary markers that I placed.
    - I also have included an XY graph control that displays on the TPC with margins around the graph area that I removed from the graph control.
    - For the shared variable, it appears to be an issue related to the touch panel, not fieldpoint. I found another thread in this forum that mentioned that clusters containing Enumerations do not work in shared variables on the touch panel. I changed the enumeration to an integer and it now works fine.
In general, there seem to be a disappointing number of limitations in the touch panel implementation. My biggest concern is that I have not found any documentation from NI that lists these limitations. I seem to have to try things out and see what works and what does not work. Can you point me to a comprehensive list of touch panel modules limitations?

  • Custom Control - Best place for visual-tree generation?

I'm building a custom control (extending Canvas) which should present a chartflow diagram (nodes and connectors). It will be feeded through databinding and a dependency property (ItemSource). The control will generate:
    1. Node-items (based on ItemSource)
    2. Connectors (lines) between each and every node
    3. An adornerlayer on most of the nodes
Should I generate this visual/logical -tree inside my ItemSourceUpdated -eventhandler? In the overrided ArrangeOverride method? Or whats best practice?

Please don't ask several questions in the same thread. Your original question was about where to add the visual elements when creating a custom Panel and now you are asking about adorners. Please close the thread by marking all helpful posts as answer when
your original quesion has been answered and then start a new thread if you have a new question.
Please refer to the following page for more information about adorners:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms743737(v=vs.110).aspx
Sorry but no, my original question was about where to place creation code for:
    1. Node-items (based on ItemSource)
    2. Connectors (lines) between each and every node
    3.
    An adornerlayer
    on most of the nodes
Since you cant create adorners immediately after you have added a new elemented to the visual tree (and before the layout pass) your previous
answer was appreciated, but not sufficient.

  • How to create and add a custom control in VS2013 Community

    Hello everyone,
Could you please help me to create a control in visual c++, and then add it in the toolbox of a windows form application?
I tried to create the control in that way:
Create a class library, then add to it a CLR user control, then compile e created my .dll.
I created a new CLR Project, added a form and all the necessary to start it, compiled and started form without problem.
Then I add the reference of my custom control .dll (right click, add reference...)
At this point no way to put it in Toolbox, nor with "chose item", nor in any other way.
    Could you please help me?
    Thank you

Is the class public (“public ref class MyUserControl”) and did you open the Form Designer before checking the toolbox? The user controls should appear automatically after rebuilding the solution.

  • Create a Fancy Custom Control

I'm trying to create a fancy Custom Control for processing Cell Counter images.  I want a Control that lets me select two image types, Fluorescent or DAB, and if I choose Fluorescent, will let me pick Red, Green, or Blue.
I created two Radio Button controls, one for Fluorescent/DAB, one for RGB, that look like this:
I was hoping to "embed" the RGB control inside the Image Type control, yet have them retain their properties (a 2-element and 3-element Dialog Box).  When I did the simple drag-and-drop of RGB onto Image Type, it acted as though I added elements to a cluster, and I had a 5-element Dialog Box, not what I wanted.
So I got clever and dragged Image Type on top of RGB.  Of course, if Image Type is in front, you don't see RGB.  However, if RGB is in front, you see both, but with ugly shadows around RGB (I made its label invisible).
Anyone have an idea how I can Have my Cake and Eat It, Too?  Specifically, how can I get rid of the shadow that the RGB control casts on the Image Type control?
Here are the controls, themselves, as snippets:

  • Changing colours of Custom Controls

I've made a custom control by adding a logo to a standard boolean square button. I want to be able to change the colour of the background (the light/dark green). How do I do this? I have tried using the colours[4] property attribute, but although this reports that the colour has been changed, the control remains unaffected.
    Thanks for your replies.
    Richard

I think the problem lies in how you have imported your image. Rather than importing the image as a decal, you have actually replaced the images on the control with it, which will of course prevent you from changing their colors.
When you initially edit the control, don't switch into edit mode (the tweezers). Leave the control in customize mode (the wrench).
Select Edit->Import Picture From file and find your image, note that you should probably try to create an image with a transparent background.
Right Click on the button and select Import Picture->Decal.
That should place your picture on the button, without modifying the background of the button, now you can change the background statically, or dynamically. I'm attaching a control that uses a decal in the middle. You can replace the boolean in the VI I posted previously with it to see the desired result.

  • VSTO: Add Custom Control in Word Document, When I scroll the Document, the Control is missing.

    Hi All,
I faced an issue regarding insert custom control in Word Document via VSTO. And then I scroll down/up the Word Document. The control which I added is missing.
I used the code below to AddControl in Word Document,

  • Using custom control in Infopath 2013 to populate a Custom List in Sharepoint

Is there any way to add custom controls, such as InkCapture, to sharepoint list forms? My specific application requires me to use a sharepoint Custom List so I developed a form in Infopath to serve as the data entry point. Unfortunately there is no option
to add or use custom controls when editing my form in Infopath.
When I create a Form Library all my custom controls are available to use.
    Any ideas?
    Much Appreciated!

    Hi,
InfoPath is only a forms editing tool and does not provide for grid editing or other expected features like adding any custom control, you can design a template
part to reuse in multiple form template here you can create your own custom control by using existing control in InfoPath and you have facility to write code to implement any business logic that’s called template part and you can add this template part in
your any InfoPath form over and over. Here is the link for creating the custom template part in InfoPath.

  • Facing Problems in screen navigation after adding a New custom tab to MM03

    Hi,
I have added a new custom tab to MM03 transaction by using SPRO.This new tab is appearing in between Basic data 2 tab and Classification tab in MM03.In my new tab i have 4 sub screens and the Last sub screen has table control. Now the problem is when i slide the vertical bar in my table control it is automatically triggering the Classification screen.
For preparing the New tab in SPRO ->SAP Reference IMG  ->Logistics-General->Material Master->Configuring the material master ->Define structure of data screen for each screen sequence ->
Here i have created a new screen sequence 'Z5' by copying the already existing sequence '21'.Inside this new screen sequence i have created a new screen of mine by copying the already existing screen '4004'.
For maintaining the screen sequence i.e., to place the new tab between Basic data2 and Classification tab go to SPRO ->SAP Reference IMG  ->Logistics-General->Material Master->Configuring the material master ->Maintain order of main and additional screens.I have changed the order of main screen sequence to make our new tab the third tab.
To make this new tab visible only for MM03 transaction i have gone to SPRO ->SAP Reference IMG  ->Logistics-General->Material Master->Configuring the material master ->Assign screen sequence to User/Material Type/Transaction/Industry sector. In this in the Transaction screen reference, I have changed the screen reference number for MM03 and i have include this new screen reference entry in the screen sequence control column.
To create the sub screens required i have gone to  SPRO ->SAP Reference IMG  ->Logistics-General->Material Master->Configuring the material master ->Create Program for customized sub screens and have copied the standard Function group MGD1 and created 4 sub screens.
Now to place these 4 sub screens in the order required for us i have once again gone to SPRO ->SAP Reference IMG  ->Logistics-General->Material Master->Configuring the material master ->Define structure of data screen for each screen sequence and i have selected the new screen sequence created 'Z5' created by me.Inside that i have selected the screen created by me '4004'. Now i have double clicked the Sub screen options and here i gave the sub screens numbers created by me replacing the standard sub screens.
Then I activated by custom function group and i started testing the MM03 transaction.
My screen was getting populated properly and the tab movement is also fine but only problem was when i slide the table control in the fourth sub screen of my new tab i am going to fourth screen (classification).
Can you please help me by suggesting what the problem may be, why this issue in navigation.

I have the same problem now ...
    Did you solved it?

  • Accessing different custom controls during runtime

    Hi,
I am developing a test engine. Each test requires different data. My idea is to store all the custom controls(specific control to specific test case). I am getting a variant input and this should be converted to the custom control data type. Is there anyway to access the custom control datatype based on the test case???
Or to be more specific, is there a way to get the data type of control in a VI using VI reference???
    Tnx in advance

Hi Sam.. I think u got my problem wrong... I ll explain u in asimple way.
Test 1 requires 1 boolean and 1 numeric
    Test 2 requires 2 numeric
    Test 3 requires 1 string
Wat I recieve is a variant containig all inputs of that particular test(Exmpl: 2 numeric for Test 2)....Now I need to convert this variant to 1 bool and 1 num(for Test 1) or 2 numeric(if Test 2) or 1 string (if test 3). Wat I thought was put all the ctrls in a folder and access it to convert the variant based on test number.(This is for future use so tht I can just add cntrls if new tests are added). Now the question is how to access this cntrl datatype for the conversion???????

  • Veristand Custom Controls

I am just starting to use the Veristand evaluation copy to see if it can do what I need it to do.  It seems very customizable, and I was trying to create custom workspace controls through Labview.  I would like to get things like radio buttons, lists and drop down menus into the workspace to control my model.  I tried simply taking one of the numeric controls and replacing it with one of the previously mentioned controls, but it gave me an error saying that they were unsupported.  It seems like I would be able to do this using the Free Label Template, but I'm not quite sure how to do that.  I was able to find a custom indicator example (the min/max one), but was unable to find anything involving custom controls.  Are there any examples or tutorials I could look at?  How would I go about making some of those Labview controls into things I could use in the Veristand Workspace?
    -Eric
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi erric, I have some answers for your issue.
    1. I attached a zip file that contains your control renamed and build a project in it. You should be able to unzip it, check the build specificiation and make sure the output destination is the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\VeriStand\Display Templates. Trigger a build on this and you should get EricHettlerSample - Radio.vi and EricHettlerSampleControlSupport.llb in there. Once you have this run a workspace you will be able to drop the EricHettlerSample - Radio control from the control list.
    2. For the explanation. I think when you do a save as on the min-max example you download from the web LabVIEW cross link the vis that is in the llb with the one in the vi.lib. So doing a save as will not work. What will work is that you create a project and setup a source distribution to build the custom control. These are the steps I take based on your attached file:
Rename in windows explorer the attached numeric indicator - radio.vi to EricHettlerSample - radio.vi
Open LabVIEW convert the .llb you attached to a directory.
    Create a new project file.
Open EricHettlerSample - radio.vi under my computer, when LabVIEW prompts me for some VI i look for them in the converted llb directory. Note that LabVIEW will find most of the files under vi.lib since these are the files that NI VeriStand install to labview directory.
Once I added the some of the vis, I mass compile the project.
Create a source distribution. Add the EricHettlerSample - radio.vi. Go to source file setting make the main vi go to the template folder and everything else go to a llb folder.
Trigger the build, LabVIEW will do a better job creating an isolated component that is correctly linked.
As a rule you always want to create a project to build a custom control, since Save As will not always worked with the LabVIEW VI linkage in NI VeriStand.
To create a completely base custom control project what you do is:
    Copy C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\VeriStand\Display Templates\Decoration - Free Label.vi in windows explorer to a directory of your choice.
Do a rename on the VI in window explorer.
Open LabVIEW create new project add the renamed VI under my computer. This will create a blank project for customizing custom controls.
I hope this helps, let me know if it still does not work for you.
Also if you still bothered by the error messages that shows up you might want to clean up C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\VeriStand\Screens directory since this directory is where NI VeriStand caches all the controls you drop in the workspace. So if you have a control that cannot be loaded delete all vis in this directory should remove the bad vis.

  • Decoration On Custom Control

I made some custom controls, in the customize window simply by adding an arrow or line, ect to the button. However, if i click directly on the decoration,(which covers most of the control) it does not change the state, i have to click on the button, but not on the decoration to change the state. Any easy way to make the button change state no matter where i click on it?

I have found a few issues similar when customizing controls. When you cover a control with a decoration the decoration is infront of the control, so the control will not have focus to generate events, you can however do two things with a button, place the decoration behind the Button and make the button transparent or you can modify the pictures embedded (4 independent states pictures) associated with a button, or some combo of the two. I still find it hard to get custom controls to look exactly as I intend when I envision something complex, There is probably some art and much creative thought to getting a successful GUI element. Good luck.

  • Issue in Custom Control UI element

    Hi there,
I have created 2 custom controls(SAP mobile 7.1), one for rendering images(actually map images) and another for capturing user's signature. Both are integrated into the main application and works fine when alone. But when present together, certainly on different screens in the main app, still it works but with rendering problems. Say when navigating from the screen that displays the map custom control to the screen that has the signature capuring custom control, the map image is still getting displayed over the signature custom control view.
I wonder , if the problem is with disposing of the custom control. Can anyone suggest how to do that. Or something else has to be done?
    Regards,
    Aravind

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about custom controls \ SWT can add some input
I do know disposing the SWT controls is important but not sure if it would solve your problem
from our application that uses a few simple custom controls together, we definitely needed to use dispose or it would cause memory consumption issues and slow performance
    within the constructor
    [Text object].addDisposeListener(this);
method to dispose color and fonts used
    public void widgetDisposed(DisposeEvent event)
                  font.dispose();
                  amber.dispose();

We have recently migrated from Team Foundation Server 2010 to Team Foundation Server 2013 Update 2. In TFS 2013 template design we found the refresh form control (inbuilt control of TFS) which is unable to refresh the custom control values that is built

    Hi SaranRam,
The refresh button is there to allow the data that populated the work item to be refreshed. The data that you want refreshed is part of the rendering of the form and would only be refreshed when the browser refreshes. Refer to MrHinsh's reply in this
