Adding comments section to a blog

Is it possible to add a section where visitors to the blog can add comments?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you're publishing to a MobileMe account that's built in to the blog:
If you're using a non-MobileMe hosting server there are 3rd party comment add ons that you can use. See bearkat's post in this topic: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10981895&#10981895

  • Why are the thumbnails on the comments sections of blogs covering the text in safari?

Why doe my iPhone make the size of the thumbnails so large that they cover up the text in the comments section of different blogs? They're mobile sites and they appear this way in safari and chrome. This is a new occurrence after the latest update.

You may have zoomed the page(s) by accident by using "Zoom Text Only" (i.e. not full page zoom).
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
    *<b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl/Command+0 (zero))
If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.

  • How to hide username in comments section of sharepoint 2013 blog page

I have a blog page in SharePoint 2013. In that, in the comments section, i have to hide the username of the person who posted the comment.
I also have to hide it from the page source, hence i cannot use css. Please suggest some solution,if possible using xslt.

Open the blog.xsl file which is located in "/_layouts/XSL/blog.xsl"
For safe side take the back up of blog.xsl file and open it and find the below div
    <div class="ms-PostFooter">
<!-- For the author field, render it using the span style and preceed it with the word "by"-->
    <span class="ms-postfootercolor"><xsl:value-of select="$thisNode/../@resource.wss.ByPrefix"/></span><xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes" ddwrt:nbsp-preserve="yes">&amp;nbsp;</xsl:text><xsl:call-template name="RenderAuthor"/>
    <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes" ddwrt:nbsp-preserve="yes">&amp;nbsp;</xsl:text><span class="ms-postfootercolor"><xsl:value-of select="$thisNode/../@resource.wss.blog_postfooter_at"/><xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes" ddwrt:nbsp-preserve="yes">&amp;nbsp;</xsl:text>
    <xsl:choose>
    <xsl:when test="$ContainerId"><xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes">&lt;#= spMgr.RenderFieldByName("PublishedDate", listItem, listSchema) #&gt;</xsl:text></xsl:when>
    <xsl:otherwise><xsl:value-of select="@PublishedDate" disable-output-escaping="yes"/></xsl:otherwise>
    </xsl:choose></span>
    <div>
In the above div remove the span tag
<!-- For the author field, render it using the span style and preceed it with the word "by"-->
    <span class="ms-postfootercolor"><xsl:value-of select="$thisNode/../@resource.wss.ByPrefix"/></span><xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes" ddwrt:nbsp-preserve="yes">&amp;nbsp;</xsl:text><xsl:call-template name="RenderAuthor"/>

  • Blog comment section needed...

Is there a way to get a comments section on my iWeb blog? I can't figure out how to do it.

Where are you publishing to? If it's not MobileMe the the following is what won't work:
Features Unavailable When Publishing to a Non-Mac Server:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ Enhanced slideshows

  • Can't past text into "Comments" section in ITunes.

    Greetings.
I've been using the "Comments" section under Item Info in Itunes to put information like band members, etc. for all my music cd's. None of the text is very long, a few sentences. I just want to know I can find out who plays on what.
However, yesterday and today when I go to place or type info into the comment area, click OK, then go back to look at that info, it cuts off about half of my text. I've even tried adding just one additional letter after the cut off, click OK, and that doesn't "stick" either.
This was working fine up until yesterday, even when I had listed many band members i.e. jazz orchestra and so on.
    Thanks.
    Jonathan
Why am I no longer able to do this?

    turingtest2,
Found it. The problem with this is that you have to add the information to each track individually. I've been selecting all tracks and then pasting my info so that it spans the entire album using the comments entry window.
Yep... It's not as handy for data entry, though it does have the benefit that you can read the data when the track is playing on an iPod/iPhone.
Not sure why Apple would impose a 255 character limit to the comments.
I can't think why either. It was a limitation of ID3V1 but is no longer relevant or imposed by other software.
    Any other work-arounds?
Try http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=cliptomultilyrics - will copy the clipboard contents into the lyrics field of multiple selected tracks.

  • Firefox seems unable to show the comments section of blogger posts, had to use IE instead, why?

My blog on Blogspot.com does not have the comment section able to be viewed in Firefox. I had gone into Blogger and done all I could do and the comment section was not viewable. I am unsure, why? The most unusually thing is that I could post on other blogs that use Blogspot; just not mine. However, when I use the IE Tab for my blog, the comment section is visible and works. I have Firefox 4.0.1

Does the keyboard work correctly with Live on the same Mac?
Does the Keyboard show up in the MIDI pane of Audio MIDI Setup (Utilities folder)?
Starting from the Keyboard Starter Template, do you see any MIDI activity in the MIDI display in MS?

  • Adding Comments

    Hi,
I might be daft here but I can't find a way of adding comments to files/folders in Finder.
There's obviously a Comments column but how on earth do I go about writing something in it?
    Ta
    Ben

    Hi Ben,
You add comments via the 'Get Info' window of the file. Do the following:
    1. Click once on a file you wish to add comments to.
    2. From the menubar select File->Get Info
    3. At the top of the Get Info window you'll see the Spotlight Comment section and that's where you type any comments you want which, in turn, will apear in the Comments column when viewing a Finder Window in List view.
If you do not see a field under Spotlight Comment where you can type, simply click on the disclosure triangle and it will appear.

  • Cnn comment section not working on safari

cnn comment section don't work on safari

    Here was their reply:
Recently, you contacted MobileMe Support via chat, and your case was escalated for further assistance.
My name is Travis, I'm a MobileMe Senior Advisor, and I'll be taking this case over from here. I know how important it is to have your MobileMe account operating properly, and I'll be glad to assist you. Based on the information you provided, I understand that no one is able to save comments made on your blog page of your iWeb published site at http://web.me.com/mikejdunlap.
I also received the forum that you provided in chat and we appreciate that additional information. Before we investigate the issue you reported further, I will need you to try some isolating / troubleshooting steps and let me know the results.
First, I would like you to please republish your entire site from iWeb to see if that has any effect on correcting the issue.
    1. Open iWeb
    2. Choose file > publish entire site
    3. After the site republishes, please check and see if the issue persists at your site.
If the issue does indeed persist, I will need you to try publishing your site to a test MobileMe account to see the results there. Please complete the following steps:
    1. Open system preferences > MobileMe > account tab and sign out of your account.
    2. Sign into the following account:
    Member Name: mmtesting44703
    Password: apple0209
    3. Open iWeb and publish your site to this account.
    4. When the publishing completes, check the test account at http://web.me.com/mmtesting44703 and lets see if the issue persists.
Please reply back with the results of these two tests and I will gladly investigate further into the cause of the issue based on the results. I appreciate your time and patience.
    Sincerely,
    Travis

  • I can't comment on a Blogger blog.

I can't comment on a Blogger blog. It has CAPTCHA (word verification). It keeps telling me I've done it wrong when I'm certain I've gotten the CAPTCHA right. It's my favorite blog and I've been a contributor for a while, but recently the blog added CAPTCHA because of spam.

    Thanks again.
No, refreshing the CAPTCHA doesn't help. I can usually see them okay anyway.
As far as I know I'm not blocking cookies on any websites. I checked just to be sure, but no, I'm apparently not blocking cookies.
    Any other suggestions?

  • Is there a way in Pages to show and print all the added "comments?" (those you add by highlighting text)  I'd like students to be able to view my comments on printed version of their papers.

Is there a way in Pages to show and print all the added "comments?" (those you add by highlighting text)  I am a teacher, and I would  like students to be able to view my comments on printed versions of their papers. I know word displays the comments off to the side of the document, and those comments can be viewed all at once and printed alongside the document.

There doesn't appear to be a way to print conmments in either Pages or Numbers in the Mavericks versions.

  • Allow user to fill in a fillable pdf but disallow adding comments and annotation

Hi there.  I have a fillable pdf created by livecycle designer.  I want to let users fill in the form but prevant them adding comments and annotatons to the form.  I cannot reset the above requirements in form property - form security if I have already set a password and allowed user to fill in the form.  Can I user javascript to that effect during the document loading?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
If you save the form as a Dynamic XML Form in the save-as dialogue, then the user will not be able to apply comments. They can only do this in flat or static PDF forms.

  • Is there any way to search words that are in the comment section of iTunes song info?

Question is above. I have put some keywords in various comment sections but can't find a way to search for them

Note if you find search isn't working as expected it may help to switch to the List view (left-hand view icon) and enable the column, then go back to the view you were using.

  • Youtube reply button in comment section does not work

As of today the "reply" button in the comment section on any youtube video has stopped working, Usually it brings up an input field when clicked, but now I get nothing except a blue glow around the button [http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh299/Viruzzz_bucket/Untitled-1.jpg (cropped picture of what I see)]
So far I have attempted the following with no success
    *restarting firefox
    *restarting the computer
    *reinstalling latest version of flash
The button works if I access a video page through internet explorer, but I despise that browser.

What's even more crap about this is your old posts are not updated with your name. So new reply posts look like (on first glace without a user clicking on the user name of old posts vs Real name of new posts to see they are the same) that the posts are coming from two different users. Just messy all the way around... and frustrating that I cannot continue my convos today without surrendering my privacy.
