Adding Entity Framework Crashes Visual Studio 2010/2013

I'm having problem with using the Entity Framework version 6/5.  Whenever, I create the new solution and try to use the Entity Framework, Visual Studio crashes and restarts itself.  Scenarios are:
1) Add Entity Framework by Add New Item-> Entity Framework-> go through wizard and finish...Crash.
2) Add by Nuget console-> Install-Package Entityframework...Crash.
3) Reload the solution from either #1 or #2, run Nuget console->Uninstall-Package Entityframework...Crash
4) new solution, nuget package manager, select Entity Framework->Install...Crash.
No matter what I do, and how I try to install entity framework, it keeps crashing on both VS 2010 and VS 2013.  It's frustrating when I'm trying to learn the technology.  Below are the Application error log I see in the Event Viewer:

Hi Hiroaki Morikawa,

Based on the error message, I doubt that it is the memory performance issue, like this case:

Do you install the VS2010 and VS2013 in the same machine? If so, please also make sure that your machine has the enough configurations. To make sure that it is not the add-in issue, please also run your VS in safe mode, or run your VS as the admin, test
it again.

  • Connectiong Visual Studio 2010/2013 to SQL Database and Running VS Windows Form App in the Windows Azure Cloud

    Hi, good day
Im going to have a little presentation before I finished my OJT and the topic that was given to is cloud computing. One of the task I need to do is to set up an application where in it can run and access real time on the "cloud". Now my prob is
I already have windows azure account, made my database, BUT don't know how to connect it to my Visual Studio 2010/2013 (which is more preferable?), and if I ever connect it when my Windows Form is made can it run on the cloud also, how? Please help. Thank
    you so much.
PS: I will be discussing this with people who doesn't know much about computing can you send me tips what to discuss? Double Thank You. :)

Thank you for the help.. Another thing can I run my Windows Form App also on the cloud? Like if I present is it possible that the application that I will be doing can be uploaded and accessed on the cloud by the audience and can be used by many at the
same time? Can you tell me how? Or give me a source how to do it? I downloaded the azure tools but I don't how to use it. I checked and tried activating and fixing my IIS and enabling support for ASP but still nothing, when I try to do cloudservice it says
"get azure tools" even though I already have it installed in my laptop, and when I try to right click and upload the project to azure I don't see the usual option 'Upload to Microsoft Azure'. My app is a simple phonebook app with add, edit, delete and search
    function. Thanks again..

  • Add-in for Access 2010/2013 with Visual Studio 2012 (2013 Preview)

    Hello!
Am i right: Microsoft wants to kill Access in favor of Azure/SQL stuff?
I was unable to find any Projects in Visual Studio 2012/2013 to create an Addon for Access 2010 or 2013 (only Word, Excel, Outlook).
    There is even no Microsoft.Office.Tools.Access.ApplicationFactory
to install add-in to Access App.
    Any solutions for VS 2012?
Or i should use outdated Shared Add-in with VS 2010?
    Thank you!

    Sorry Donald M from Microsoft,
You need to rethink that response.  IDTExtensibility2 is an outdated Office 2003 technology.
Everything EXCEPT the ThisAddIn.designer.cs reference to ApplicationFactory _factory compiles when you switch references in another Office application's VSTO project template to msaccess and dao libraries.  Even the Access icon shows up in Visual
Studio 2013.  The only reason a Ribbon.xml project will not load into Access is that Microsoft hasn't provided the Microsoft.Office.Tools.Access DLL for it.  If you leave the Factory reference pointing to global::Microsoft.Office.Tools.Factory,
the add-in compiles but will not load.
MICROSOFT: Please provide us the missing Factories for MSAccess and OneNote.

  • Adding Columns to the matrix in SAP B1 user form using Visual studio 2010

    Hi,
Using Visual studio 2010, I have created a SAP B1 user form( b1f ) with one matrix.Matrix is having 5 columns. Its working properly. Later, I want to add few more columns. Then I added columns to the matrix as I have created columns initially. But, it does not saves.
i.e, Whenever I run, In B1 I could see only old columns. Newly created columns are not showing. So, I closed the .net project and opened again. Created columns are not showing in visual studio b1f itself. So, I created again and saved. But, its not saving.I tried it many times.
    What I am missing?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Parvatha Solai.N

    Hi Parvatha,
Are you using B1 Studio? Anyway try to clean the solution first then rebuild it. This would re-copy files to the output directory, that contain your changes.

  • How to Install Visual Studio 2010 on a PC with Microsoft Office 2013 with 64 bits

I am with problems to have acess to the link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12187
    Why?
I want do install Visual Studio 2010 on a PC with Microsoft Office 2013 with 64 bits. How can I do it?
    Thanks.

    Hello Carla Sofia,
Visual Studio installation do not depends on Microsoft Office 2013. They do not have relationship here. I think your problem is that you cannot find the link to install Visual Studio 2010.
In order to know why, please see here:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search/default.aspx?sort=PN&alpha=Visual%20Studio%202010&Filter=FilterNO
The mainstream support for Visual Studio 2010 is already expired and that is why you cannot open any link about Visual Studio 2010 Setup.(I cannot verify whether that link is about VS2010 Setup.)
I think you need to think about the following:
    1. If you need Visual Studio 2010, you may have to consider some other channels. For example, official site you can try use MSDN Subscription. For non-official site. Sorry I cannot provide any place for you
    2. You can use other latest version of Visual Studio, for example, we have Visual Studio 2012, 2013, 2015 for you to use. You can also use Visual Studio Express 2010 version. It is still available for download.
    Best regards,
    Barry

  • Problem when adding ABAP custom webservice with Visual Studio 2010

    Hi All,
After creating a webservice for a custom RFC function developed in a ECC6.0 SAP machine, I tried to add it to a Visual Studio 2010 windows aplication (through a web reference connection).
    The sequence I've done is:
    - Create RFC in ABAP, with testing ok
    - Create a WEBSERVICE with the ABAP editor
    - Configured the webservice with SICF with:
         Procedure: Standard
         Logon data: standard R3 user
         Security requirement: Standard
         Authentication: Standard SAP User
Then, in SOAMANAGER I copied the webservice URL and tried to add it to Visual Studio 2010, but it keeps asking me the user and password. I try to supply the R3 username and password but if fails.
Why is ECC6.0 asking the user and passord if I've defined a SAP user for the login process?
Is there any way to disable this?
    Thanks,
    Manuel Dias

    Hello Manuel,
You can use the following code:
    CredentialCache cache = new CredentialCache();
          cache.Add(new Uri("WEBSERVICEURL:PORTNUMBER/"), "Basic", new NetworkCredential("USERNAME", "PASSWORD"));
    SAP needs a password.
    Kind regards,
    JK

  • Is ODAC 11.2 Release 4 (11.2.0.3.0) XCopy support Visual Studio 2010 sp1?

I download and installed "ODAC112030Xcopy_32bit.zip" on Windows7 64bit machine according to the included readme.htm (added c:\oracle and c:\oracle\bin to environment variables, added ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_HOME_KEY registry), but while I try to add ADO.NET Entity Data Model, I cannot find the Oracle ODP.Net provider list in wizard.
I didn't install "Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio", is it a must for EntityFramework? Or something else I missed?

    Hi,
Yes, you need to install the Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio in the 32-bit home in order to use the Entity Framework tools with Visual Studio 2010.

  • Trouble to download visual studio professional 2013

    Hi!
I have just recently download the visual studio professional 2013. When I was trying to run that folder in Windows 8.1 laptop. Visual studio running process just come up on my screen for 2 second and disappear after that
process. I have tried manyy times with different types of visual studio. Can u help me to fix this problem? I really need  help.

    Hi,
It seems you install your VS by web installer. When you open the exe file, the installation process crashed.
You should follow up these steps to install Visual Studio again:
    1. Re-download the Visual studio from Microsoft official site here:
    http://www.visualstudio.com/downloads/download-visual-studio-vs
    2. Disable your Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware software and be sure that your OS has been "patched" up - Update your computer (Windows) before install the VS.
    3. Clean your %temp% folder and run the installer with Administrator permission.
Look the links to get more information:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/msdnforum/archive/2010/03/06/visual-studio-and-net-framework-installation-tips.aspx
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/60f71a54-506e-4c70-be98-e993ce6d1ddf/visual-studio-installation-tips?forum=vssetup
Or you can install by ISO:
Please try download the content online or copy the content from your DVD to some folders from your disk, then try the installation again. And try to use the tool in below link to check your ISO checksum.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290
If the error also occurs, please use http://aka.ms/vscollect  to gather the installation logs. You will find vslogs.cab from %temp% folder. Please upload the file to
https://onedrive.live.com/   and share the link here.
    Best Wishes!

    Hi,
    By the errors:

It maybe a registry or administrator issue.
    Please install VS with administrator.
What's more, it maybe a corrupt registry issue. And you can't install any version of Visual Studio, I think you can use the tool to fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled. It also can fix the corrupted registry keys.

  • AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF fails with MS Visual Studio Pro 2013

    Hello.
I'm using MS Visual Studio Professional 2013 (Version 12.0.30501.00 Update 2) and MS .NET Framework Version 4.5.50938. I also have installed in my system (Windows 7 Home Premium - Service Pack 1) the Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.07.
Before 3 months I have created a Windows Form Application with VS2013 and I've used the ActiveX tool "AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF". Everything was working normally.
I left this app for some time because of other obligations.
Now I've started using again my application and I get an error from VS2013 regarding the ActiveX control of AdobePDF in my app. The error I get is "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component". I have re-installed three times Adobe Reader XI and I still get the same error.
Why VS cannot detect the COM component of Adobe reader?
I have the respective reference (Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Browser Control Type Library 1.0) added to my project and the tool (Adobe PDF Reader @C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroPDF.dll) added to my toolbox and when i try to add the tool again to my form I get the following error: "Failed to create component 'AxHost'. The error message follows: 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): A wrapper assembly is not registered for this type library....". This is just a part of the error.
AcroPDF.dll was last modified on 08/05/2014. So i suppose its a new version.
Can you please give me a solution?
    Thank you in advance.

It's probably related to this KB that got posted after 11.0.07 shipped.
PDF applications built with VB6 don't work with Acrobat 11.0.07
Note the designation of the CPU building and the web application piece about calling the ActiveX control directly.

  • Question about creating association between Sharepoint BDC entities using Visual Studio 2010

    I am following this tutorial:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vssharepointtoolsblog/archive/2010/08/02/walkthrough-of-creating-association-between-sharepoint-bdc-entities-using-visual-studio-2010.aspx
I am getting the following error:
There is an error in the TypeDescriptors of Parameters on Method with Name 'CustomerToOrder' on Entity (External Content Type) with Name 'Customer' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1'. The TypeDescriptors incompletely define where the Foreign
Identifiers of Entity 'Order' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1' are to be read. That Entity expects exactly '1' Identifiers, but only '0' TypeDescriptors with the correct Association were found from which to read them.
    I have viewed the following:
    http://lightningtools.com/business_connectivity_services/the-typedescriptors-incompletely-define-where-the-identifiers-of-entity-x-are-to-be-readbcs-error/
after reading that article, I am still not sure what setting I am missing.  Does anyone have the full working source code from the msdn article linked above?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got the symbols not loaded error.
First try rebuilding your project by right mouse click the project > Rebuild If that doesn't work, try a clean of the project (right mouse click on the project > clean)
If that didn't work check this:
    Right mouse click your project
    select [Properties]
    select the [Build] tab
make sure [Define DEBUG constant] and [Define TRACE constant] are checked
Click the [Advanced] button at the bottom of the Build tabpage
Make sure that [Debug Info:] is set to [full]
    Click [OK] and rebuild the project ;
Hope that works for you! (step 6 generates the .pdb files, these are the debugging symbols)
What’s more, you can clean & re-compile the code, then install the respective dlls one more time to GAC (just remove them before adding to GAC again), do an IISReset to check whether it works.

  • Issue with New Release Deploying Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010

Previously I created a deployment project with Visual Studio 2010 using the Beta 2 release of the distributable. This worked fine and installed on a 32-bit XP machine.
I've since updated the project to use the new Release version of the distributable CRRuntime_32bit_13_0.msi. Now when I run the installed program it gives me the following message -
"An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime. Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient, or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly. Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required. Please go to http://www.businessobjects.com/support for more information."
I've had a look at verious posts and added code to the app.config file so it looks like -
    <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
    <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.0"/>
    </startup>
and also tried targetting various .NET frameworks, but without success.
      Am I missing something?

    Hello,
More info, are you installing on the same PC as the Beta was installed on or a clean PC?
Your app must be set to the full framework, not the client version.
Are you installing by right clicking on your setup.exe and selecting run as administrator?
Setting that option in the app.config is only required if you are using that driver you found the info on.
Run ProcessMonitor and set it to filter your installer and see what it reports.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Side by side installation Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 - CRXIR2 ?

we are integrating Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 into our C++ application.
We used to work with CRXIR2.
A customer of ours has upgraded to the VS2010 runtime version for 64-bit,
and seems to be having random crashes.
We haven't been able to pinpoint the problem...
They are running several of our applications simultaniously on terminal servers.
What we noticed is that they did not uninstall CRXIR2 from there system.
    Is this side-by-side installation supported?
So XIR2 next to Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010  ?
And even: can you have a Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010  64bit next to a 32bit? Probably yes?
Next to that: is there any limit of concurrent users (applications) that use the .NET component?
    I would think not...
    Bart

    Hi Bart,
Side by side installation shouldn't be a problem, unless you had Beta version of CRVS2010 installed on the same machine.
For better results try upgrading to use SP1 of CRVS2010. For CRVS2010 resources, you can go through this
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 - Deployment
I haven't seen any problem with 64bit next to a 32bit til date.
You can go through this for CR support on x64

  • How can I get Visual Studio 2010 to work with Crystal Reports?

    Hi,
My office upgraded to Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010 and now I can no longer write front end programs to Crystal Reports version 10.   Does anybody know if there is a a workaround?   Also, our version of Crystal Reports is 32 bit but the new desktop machine I have is 64 bit so there may be issues accessing the Crystal Reports DLLs which are now located in the Programs (x86) folder.
It's all such a gigantic mess that I don't even know where to begin.   Visual Studio 2008 had Crystal Reports in it so it was real easy.
    Dave

Try searching first before posting. CR for Visual Studio 2010 download is available on the OverView tab. It's a free install, we don't ship in VS now, it's still a plug in so you can't use VS 2010 Express version, MS doesn't support plugins in Express versions.
Runtime files will be version 13 and should update your app without issues.
Install VS 2010/2012/2013 first and then run the first link in the download page. Don't instlal just the runtime redist MSI, it will not integrate into VS.
Also, set your Project for x86 and not any CPU and use the full .NET Framework and not the client version.
