Adding in a Hyperlink to a form

I'm sure this is easy to do but it's beaten me.
How do I insert a hyperlink in to a form.
I am doing a booking form for course bookings and if the people haven't found out the available dates yet they need to go and look at the course calender held in Outlook.
How do I insert a hyperlink in the form so it stay clickable rather than appearing as text?
Thanks
Neil

Neil -- I see no one answered this. I have exactly the same question. My people must go view a specific webpage to complete the form I'm doing.
Were you ever able to solve this?
Any insight you can provide would be appreciated!
thanks, Lauren

How can multiple check boxes be added at one time to a form?

Thanks for your response, but copying and pasting creates a link. If the user places a check mark in one of the boxes, all the rest of the boxes will have a check mark also. I will research this some more.

  • Hyperlinking text in form fields

I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro and filling out a form that was supplied to me in PDF format. I don't say anyway to hyperlink words (in form fields) in Acrobat Pro. Is it not possible?

Yes, you can do that if you set up the text field to allow Rich Text formatting. To create a hyperlink, select some text, right-click, and select "Hyperlink".

Help- I have added a field in my tabular form and now i get an error in muli update form; Here is the error, how do I go in to change the process, adding the extra field??

    Hi,
I believe the error is due to the checksum process which doesn't have that additinoal field's information. You can try creating the form again with the additional field, or if needed you can go with the Manual tabular form.

  • Hyperlink in adobe form

    Hi,
I want to create hyperlink on the form. I am using ALD 8.1.6. So I dont see the insert hyperlink option on the menu bar. I think we have to do it through Javascript. If anyone know, please let me know the procedure.
    Thanks
    GJ

In adobe form if you want to have one link which opens another link or pdf file.
Then below mention procedure can help you in simple manner.
A hyperlink (or link) is a word, group of words, or image that you can click on to jump to another document.
When you move the cursor over a link in a Web page, the arrow will turn into a little hand.
    Now follow the procedure.
Go to palettes choose-> script editor
Now click on the hierarchy->body page
    Write code:
    <a href="url">Link text</a>
    Example
    <a href="http://scn.sap.com/">Visit SAP</a>
This will display like this: visit SAP
Clicking on this hyperlink will send the user to Visit SAP homepage.
Tip: The "Link text" doesn't have to be text. It can be an image or any other HTML element.
In layout create one text and provide text name (link text).
Save and activate. Now execute the adobe form.

  • Adding an interactive table to a form?

Okay, I am really new to using Adobe Pro and kind of brain dead with JavaScript.  I'm using the LiveCycle Designer to create a form and I want to add a table that expands as data is entered, or create a button that allows additional rows to be added as needed.  I was trying to follow a little how-to-guide I found, but after I follow the instructions my codes don't work for the buttons I created to add a row.  Please help

Just a couple of minor changes ......I attached the updated version.
    1. The page subform that will house the table must be set to flowed ...otherwise when it reaches the bottom it will not create a new page for you.
    2. Your Table was named Table1 but you referenced it as Table in the commands hence th eobject could not be found.
    3. I moved the add row button outside of the table so that it woudl not repeat for each row.
    4. I updated the code on the delete row button to delete the row that you are on ...otherwise it woudl take the 1st occurance out.
Let me know what you think

  • Adding multiple signatures in one interactive form

Hi, I'm creating an insertion form for a client. THey have one area under credit card info that has a signature line, and another spot at the bottom of the form that has another field for a signature.
When I bring the PDF into acrobat Pro and do the form wizard, it only makes one of these boxes have the red tag/signature look to insert a digital signature. My clients wants both signature boxes to have this feature.
I can not figure out how to do this. please help.

After you've added the form fields, including the signature fields and have the form working like it should, it needs to be Reader-enabled in Acrobat. How this is done depends on which version of Acrobat you're using. This thread has more information: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4896660
This enabling really should be done by your client with their licensed version of Acrobat Pro, not yours. It's an Acrobat licensing issue, actually several issues.
In any case, the resulting file is a PDF, the same as what you're working with now.
Another thing to consider is that if the form is intended to be used by the general public, most won't have any experience with using digital signatures. An alternative is to use Adobe's new EchoSign service, which does not use digital signature fields but instead uses an electronic signature (e-sig) process which does not rely on the form being Reader-enabled, so there are no Acrobat licensing issues. But there is a fee associated with the EchoSign service. Digital/Electronic signatures are not free.
Then there are legal issues that need to be considered. EchoSign may have an advantage here, at least over the use of self-signed certificates as are most commonly used with digital signature fields. Even if I knew more details about the form and intended workflow, I can't provide you any specific advice about this.

  • Cannot open Hyperlinks in PDF Forms

We use Acrobat Pro 10 / LiveCycle Desginer to create our fill-able forms to then publish on our website.  Our users can click the form on our webpage, the PDF opens in Chrome just fine and they can fill in the fields.  But when a user trys to click on the Hyperlinks, the Hand doesn't turn into the Finger allowing you to click the link and go to the webpage.  When looking at the properties of this PDF, I can see there are restrictions.  I only want to allow my customers to click on the Hyperlinks.  Keep in mind, they are using Chrome with default Chrome PDF Viewer.  Also, many of our internal users do not use Adobe to view/edit PDFs.  Their default PDF viewer if eCopy or PowerPDF, so when they open this form in those applications, the Hyperlinks do not work either.  The hyperlinks only work if I open with Adobe.
Also, I saw a security restriction in the document properties where is says can only be opened with Acrobat.
Is there way to modify this?

Screenshot is pasted below.  Let me know if you can’t see it.
Also, I have attached some other screenshots displaying my problem.
    1.       Can’t open PDF in Chrome PDF Viewer
    2.       Doesn’t open in eCopy
    3.       Does open in PowerPDF, but Hyperlinks don’t work.

  • Dynamic Hyperlinks in Acrobat Form

    Hi
I am creating a suite of forms in Acrobat, in which I will need a number of hyperlinks.  I can see how to set up a standard hyperlink using the normal form edit functionality, but what I am looking for is a little away from the norm and will need some scripting, which is something I know very little about.
Can anybody help me in how to script a button in Acrobat to hyperlink to a static address with a dynamic ending?
Basically, what I am trying to acieve is a button that will link to Google Maps and show the property that is detailed in the form (so there will be the static element of www.google.co.uk/maps/, but I need the post code that has been entered in the address details to be pasted onto the end of that address so the button will take the user straight from the from to the correct location on Google Maps).
Can anybody help me with this?

You can use something like this (let's say the Postcode field is called just that):
    var postcode = this.getField("Postcode").valueAsString;
    app.launchURL("http://www.google.co.uk/maps/"+postcode);

  • Hyperlink in a Form to external spreadsheet

    Hello,
I need some help trying to link an excel page to a livecycle form.  I would like to know how to add a hyperlink or a button so that when pressed, it would direct the user to that spreadsheet of information.  Once there,  if the user is done looking at the text, he can then click on the hyperlink or button to be redirected back to the original form.
    Thanks

I do not think you will be able to launch a file that is on your local machine but if the file is on a web server then you could use the app.launchURL("Place URL here", boolean). The boolean indicates whether to create a new browser window or use the same one. If you use a new browser window then the user would have to close it to come back or simply switch windows.
    Hope that helps
