Adding jsp tag in facesconfig.xml

I want to use jsp:useBean tag on jsf page. To use such a tag I've to add it in facesconfig.xml. But I don't know what I'll write In <managed bean class> tag. I've to know the class path of the tag. Could anyone tell me how'll I find the class path for a tag?
Thanks

Thanks....would you please listen to my problem and help me find out the solution in JSF? On a JSF page I have a datatable where data get populated dynamically from database. With every row of the table I put two controls to accept data from user- a selectOneMenu tag or an inputText tag based on value from database. So, selectOneMenu or inputText maybe more than one in the datatable. For selectOneMenu or inputText I'm keeping only one bean property. Now, I want to add the values in list accepted in selectOneMenu or inputText because I've to send these values to database.
The datatable is as follows:
<t:dataTable styleClass="standardTable" headerClass="standardTable_Header" footerClass="standardTable_Header" rowClasses="standardTable_Row1,standardTable_Row2" columnClasses="standardTable_Column,standardTable_ColumnCentered,standardTable_Column" id="data" var="rmqc" value="#{rawmaterialqcdetails.allRMQCDetailByID}" preserveDataModel="true">
      <h:column>
        <f:facet name="header">
          <h:outputText value="Test"/>
        </f:facet>
        <h:inputTextarea value="#{rmqc.test}" rows="6" cols="35" readonly="true">        </h:inputTextarea>
      </h:column>
      <h:column>
        <f:facet name="header">
          <h:outputText value="Specification"/>
        </f:facet>
        <h:inputTextarea value="#{rmqc.specification}" rows="6" cols="35" readonly="true">        </h:inputTextarea>
      </h:column>
      <h:column>
        <f:facet name="header">
          <h:outputText value="Result"/>
        </f:facet>
        <f:subview id="resultc" rendered="#{rmqc.result=='c'}">
<h:selectOneMenu id="comply" styleClass="selectOneMenu" value="#{rawmaterialqcdetails.testValueC}">
<f:selectItem itemLabel="Complies" itemValue="complies"/>
<f:selectItem itemLabel="Does not Comply" itemValue="compliesnot"/>
</h:selectOneMenu>
</f:subview>
        <f:subview id="resulti" rendered="#{rmqc.result=='i'}">
<h:inputText id="input" size="20" styleClass="textbox" value="#{rawmaterialqcdetails.testValueI}"/>
</f:subview>      </h:column>
    </t:dataTable>Look in selectOneMenu I'm accepting value in testValueC which is a string bean property and in inputText I'm accepting value in testValueI which is a float. Both these twocontrols might appear more than once. So, my aim is to add testValueC in one list and testValueI in another list.
The bean code:
private float testValueI;
    private String _testValueC;
    private List _testValListC;
private List _testValListI;
public List getTestValListC()
        _testValListC.add(getTestValueC());
        return this._testValListC;
    public void setTestValListC(List _testValListC)
        this._testValListC = _testValListC;
public List getTestValListI()
        _testValListI.add(getTestValueI());
        return this._testValListI;
    public void setTestValListI(List _testValListI)
        this._testValListI = _testValListI;
    public String getTestValueC()
        //testValListC.add(_testValueC);
        return this._testValueC;
    public void setTestValueC(String _testValueC)
        this._testValueC = _testValueC;
    public float getTestValueI()
        return this.testValueI;
    public void setTestValueI(float testValueI)
        this.testValueI = testValueI;
    }But I can't do this. Do you have any idea of getting around this?

  • Adding Multiple Tag Prefixes in an XML in XI

    I have a problem on one of the messages we are trying to send to trading partners. The customers' system only accepts the message if it has a tag prefix of sh, orders... and so on in the particular message we are sending (Standard Business Document). The problem is that XI does not use the tag prefixes the trading partners are expecting. Another problem is that we do not have the orginal and current XSD of the Standard Business Document so we created the message in XI and it cannot adapt the multiple namespaces scheme that we are suppose to send.
    The messages are sent via HTTP adapter so what we plan is after mapping the data to the output XML, we are going to send it or store it in a directory which a configure File Adapter polls and use the Java Anonymizer Bean to do the trick of adding the tag prefixes and then use Enhanced Receiver Determination to actually send the data via HTTPS (since the receiving system's information is stored in a database which we query in XI using a UDF).
    Are there any other approach that we could explore than the one I mentioned above? And could XI actually handle multiple namespaces of an XML?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Rommel

    Hi Prateek,
    Thanks for the reply. Just another question though, would XI recognize the multiple namespaces and the tag prefixes associated with it during the mapping?
    Thanks again!

    Rommel

  • Can't get out.print to work with XML jsp tags

    I can't get this script to work with the XML stype jsp tags. It keeps telling me the <jsp> tags are untermintaed. Is there a special trick to fix this or do I have to use the non-XML type tags?

    Sorry, I didn't mean to put the extra " in the out.println text string. :-/

    Yes sorry, you're correct. The uri I mentioned is just 1.0.
    Do you have the "Oracle WebLogic Web App Extension" Facet for your web project? If not, try adding that and making sure that there is a weblogic.xml file created in the WEB-INF dir. The weblogic.xml file allows you to deploy usig a shared lib for JSTL. It should contain a library-ref element something like the following, with a version of 1.1.
    <wls:library-ref>
    <wls:library-name>jstl</wls:library-name>
    <wls:specification-version>1.1</wls:specification-version>

  • Using scriplets in jsp-tag attribute

    I have a strange problem with a custom taglibrary that I'm trying to write.
    When I use the tag in a jsp like underneath the first outputs the right value (Welcome Hans), but the output of the second time shows: Welcome <%= test %>
    This is a part of the JSP:
    <% String test = "Hans"; %>
    <arto:hello name="Hans" />
    <arto:hello name="<%= test %>" />
    I realy don't know how to let the tag display the value of the string in my jsp.
    Can anyone give me some advice?
    Thanks,

    The files are:
    import java.io.*;

    public int doStartTag() throws JspException {
    try {

    } catch (IOException ioe) {
    throw new JspException("Error: IOException while writing to client");
    return SKIP_BODY;
    public int doEndTag() throws JspException {
    return SKIP_PAGE;
    The JSP:
    <%@ taglib uri="arto" prefix="arto" %>
    <%
    String test = "Hans";
    %>
    <arto:hello name="<%= test %>" />
    <arto:hello name="Hans" />
    The TLD:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    <!DOCTYPE taglib PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD JSP Tag Library 1.1//EN"
    "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-jsptaglibrary_1_1.dtd">

    In the tld for the name attribute, use
    <rtexprvalue>true</rtexprvalue>
    This specifies that the attribute value can be a run-time expression. Otherwise, the value is taken as a literal.

  • Use of jsp-file in web.xml

    hello
    can anybody explain about , when we need <jsp-file> in web.xml
    and why we use this tag in place of <url-pattern>?

    If you want to declare a JSP in your web.xml file you use the jsp-file tag instead of the servlet-class tag. Normally there is no need to declare a JSP in the web.xml file unless you want to use init-params.
    Usually people can access a JSP directly wether it is declared in the web.xml or not. So it is not that the jsp-file tag replaces the url-pattern tag so much as the url-pattern tag is not needed for a JSP. However notthing prevents you from declaring the JSP in the web.xml and then mapping the JSP to a different url that doesn't end in '.jsp'.

  • Mime-type tag in web.xml and attachment download

    i have set a mime-type in web.xml as below:
    <mime-mapping>
         <extension>xls</extension>
         <mime-type>application/vnd.ms-excel</mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>
    And i have a simple jsp that only shows a table and i am making this jsp to get downloaded as an excel attachment. To make it possible i have written the following line in the JSP:
    response.setHeader( "content-disposition", "attachment; filename=myexcel.xls" );
    But i am not setting the content type first by writing:
    response.setContentType( "application/vnd.ms-excel" );
    since i have already mentioned the appropriate mime-type for excel files in web.xml.
    I am using both mozilla and IE. Both are showing file download dialog. But IE is able to correctly identify the type of the attachment and opens it up with Microsoft Excel whereas mozilla fails to identify the type, assumes it to be an HTML document and opens it up in a new window of IE.
    mozilla works fine only when i set the content type in the JSP itself. But IE works in all conditions even without having the mime-type tag in web.xml.
    If i have already specified the mime-type for particular type of file in web.xml, is there any requirement to set the content type again in the JSP/servlet?
    Please help. I even changed the mime-type for .xls (excel) files in web.xml and made it text/plain, but still the same thing is happening. IE is always showing the correct file type where as mozilla is taking it as an HTML document.
    i am using weblogic server 8.1.

    the web xml mime type setting are for static files served by the server...
    if you print a file directly to the output of the servlet, you must set the mime type, so DO write :
    response.setContentType( "application/vnd.ms-excel" );
    IE "works fine" because it also uses the file extension to decide the mime type... but in the absolute, it's a wrong behaviour

  • Jsp tag libraries

    hi All,
    I am receiving an error when i come to start a jsp page, it returns null pointer exception. so when I checked it is coming from the JSP tag Libraries. instead of the jsp libraries there is a null pointer exception . so any clue how to fix that ?
    thanks
    Amgad

    Yes, marika, download the Jakarta JSTL implementation, unzip it, and put it everything in its /lib directory in your WEB-INF/lib. Then you can refer to the taglib in your JSPs like this:
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" %>That's all you need to do. No <taglib> in your web.xml or anything else. - MOD

    <jsp:directive.page import....... tag.
    though the <%@page import = ....... tag works fine...
    any help would be appreciated..

    I can just tell you that this is not working.
    Some of the XML JSP tags are simply not implemented by all servlet engines.

  • Including HTML tags in Spry XML data sets

    How does one add HTML tags to Spry XML data sets so that the displayed items include that markup?
    For example, I might want to bold-face words within XML data items. I have tried adding the markup, but instead of seeing, for example:
    This is bold face
    in the Spry table, I see:
    This is <b>bold</b> face
    I have tried using CDATA elements in the XML to no avail.

    Set the data type for the column as per
    var ds1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("myData.xml", "rows/row");
    ds1.setColumnType("myColumn", "html");

  • JSP Tags in JSPX

    I have been using jsp tags (.tag) in my JSF-JSPs to reuse components.
    As I have seen, Oracle recommends using .jspx instead of .jsp, so in my way to create a new application using jspx I found that I can not make the jsp tag work (using jspx and tagx)
    This is the code I'm trying:
    ---------------- prubaTag.tagx -----------------
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.0"
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces">
    <af:outputText value="Hello from tag"/>
    </jsp:root>
    ---------------- prubaTemplate.tagx -----------------
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='windows-1252'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.0"
    xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
    xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
    xmlns:afh="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html"
    xmlns:tags="/WEB-INF/tags"
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces">
    <jsp:output omit-xml-declaration="true" doctype-root-element="HTML"
    doctype-system="http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"
    doctype-public="-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"/>
    <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"/>
    <f:view>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type"
    content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"/>
    <title>TemplateTest</title>
    </head>
    <tags:pruebaTag/>
    <body><h:form binding="#{backing_pruebaTemplate.form1}" id="form1"></h:form></body>
    </html>
    </f:view>
    <!--oracle-jdev-comment:auto-binding-backing-bean-name:backing_pruebaTemplate-->
    </jsp:root>

    This is from 4GL Developer Guide
    " 11.3 Creating a Web Page
    While JSF supports a number of presentation layer technologies, JDeveloper uses JSP
    as the presentation technology for creating JSF web pages. When you use JSF with JSP,
    the JSF pages can be JSP pages (.jsp) or JSP documents (.jspx). JSP documents are
    well-formed XML documents, and the XML standard offers many benefits such as
    validation against a document type definition. Hence, Oracle recommends that you
    use JSP documents when you build your web pages using ADF Faces components.
    Unless otherwise noted, the term JSF page in this guide refers to both JSF JSP pages and
    JSF JSP documents. "
    By the way, I have solved this problem using:
    xmlns:tags="urn:jsptagdir:/WEB-INF/tags/"
