Adding minutes to a Date

Is there an easy way to add 30 minutes to a date? I need to do a comparison of Date variables like this:
If DateA > (DateB + 30 minutes) then
end if;
I find myself getting very twisted around using to_char and to_date functions. Is there a 'best' way to accomplish this?

Yes you can. Did you say your Drop_Time is also of Date type? How is that possible? If it a varchar2 one and is of the format 16:30:21 for 21 seconds past 4:30 PM, then, you do it this way.
If trunc(Drop_Date)+(16/24)+(30/(24*60))+(21/(24*60*60)) > DateB + 30/(24*60) then
SQL> select trunc(sysdate) + (16/24) + (30/(24*60)) + (21/(24*60*60)) from dual
  2  /
TRUNC(SYSDATE)+(16/
18-10-2006 16:30:21
1 row selected.
SQL>I hope this is what you want.
Cheers

    Hi, if this is in regards to your library simply open up itunes and do the following steps:
    Click File
    Scroll down to "show duplicates"
    A list will then appear of your duplicate song titles.
    Be sure to CAREFULLY review each song to make sure it is a duplicate ( as I have some music that is the same song but live, acoustic etc...)
    Proceed to manually delete each song from the list and leave alone any song that you wish to keep.
    Best of luck,
    Cait

    yes it is. you can sign out of itunes account then sign back in. use http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311 to sign out.

    i added 0AMOUNT in generic data source and in rsa3 i am seeing the data ..but i am not seeing any data in target table..
    what would be the cause

    Hi,
    I guess you mean the target table in BW, correct?
    First replicate your DSource in BW
    Open your TRules. In tab Transfer structure/Datasource locate your field in the right pane (should be greyed, not blue); move it from to the left (to the transfer structure); reactivate and reload.
    You should now see the field in your PSA table.
    hope this helps...

    I just got an iPhone 4, has timestamp been added to messages to date?

    Ok sorted it looks like the folder where the music is stored had changed to itunes media when all my music is in itunes music. I have reset the default folder back to itunes music and that seem to have solved the issue. Thanks for those that helped.

    What is the behaviour of BDB if its killed & restarted when a bdb transaction is in progress?
    anybody has an idea as to why BDB dumps core in above scenario?
    Regards

    Hi Bogdan,
    As suggested by you i am using the below flags to open an enviornment.
    DB_RECOVER |DB_CREATE | DB_INIT_LOG | DB_INIT_MPOOL | DB_INIT_TXN|DB_THREAD
    DB_INIT_LOCK is not used because at our application level we are maintaining a lock to guard against multiple simultaneous access.
    The foll msg is output on the console & the dumps core with same stack trace as posted before.

  • Adding Minutes

    Hi
    How can i add minutes to a date time stamp objects in desktop intelligence report.Have a solution in universe level
    Select sysdate, sysdate + interval '5' minute from dual;
    but is this possible in report level.
    adds minutes for ex when the number of minutes exceeds 59 it adds 1 hour if the number of hours exceeds 23 it should add a day if the number of days exceeds to 30 or 31 it should add a month .
    I have tried the same using the Substr() function which adds the minutes but when the number of minutes exceeds 59 it adds an hour if the number of hours exceed 23 from there the formula fails.
    Thanks in Advance
    Rohit

    Hi Rohit,
    When working with the hour, minutes, seconds date parts, then I would suggest you try to do this at universe level making use of database functions.
    If you want to handle this at report level, then you need to roll up the time from minutes, hours, days, months, years and this gets quite messy.
    As mentioned, at universe level the soltion is a lot cleaner and re-usable.
    Hope this helps
    Jacques

    As long as it's unlocked it will work with any SIM, incl. EE SIMs.
    If you buy abroad you need to ensure it is compatible with UK mobile frequencies, on which I cannot advise.

  • Adding minutes to a time in java.

    So far I have
         Locale currentLocale= new Locale("en","CANADA");           Date today = new Date();
         DateFormat formatter =DateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.LONG, currentLocale);           String date = formatter.format(today);
         DateFormat formatter1 =DateFormat.getTimeInstance(DateFormat.MEDIUM, currentLocale);           String time = formatter1.format(today);
    this gives me a string "date" and a string "time" taken from my system clock.
    What i want to do is add some minutes to "time".
    How would i go about doing that. (adding X minutes)?

    Nevermind, i got it.

    long msecSum = 0 ;
    DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("HH:mm:ss.SSS") ;
    try
    Date date1 = dateFormat.parse("01:02:05.101") ;
    Date date2 = dateFormat.parse("02:03:10.102") ;
    System.out.println("Date1: " + dateFormat.format(date1));
    System.out.println("Date2: " + dateFormat.format(date2));
    msecSum = date1.getTime() + date2.getTime() ; // adds 5 hours !!!
    System.out.println("Sum: " + dateFormat.format(msecSum)) ;
    catch (Exception e)
    System.out.println("Unable to process time values");
    Results:
    Date1: 01:02:05.101
    Date2: 02:03:10.102
    Sum: 08:05:15.203 // should be 3 hours, not 8

    Dates shouldn't be added, but if you promise not to tell anyone:
    long msecSum = 0 ;
    DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("HH:mm:ss.SSS") ;
    dateFormat.setTimeZone(TimeZone.getTimeZone("GMT"));
    try
    Date date1 = dateFormat.parse("01:02:05.101") ;
    Date date2 = dateFormat.parse("02:03:10.102") ;
    System.out.println("Date1: " + dateFormat.format(date1));
    System.out.println("Date2: " + dateFormat.format(date2));
    msecSum = date1.getTime() + date2.getTime() ; // adds 5 hours !!!
    System.out.println("Sum: " + dateFormat.format(msecSum)) ;
    catch (Exception e)
    System.out.println("Unable to process time values");Me? I would just parse the String "01:02:05.101" to extract hours,
    minutes, seconds and milliseconds and do the math.

  • Newly added field in the data Source not getting populated

    Hello All,
    We have added few fields in the Data Source. The Data Source is based on the InfoSet. We have included the field in the Infoset and have updated the code to fetch the value for the newly added fields.
    When we perform the test extraction for this Data Source in RSA3, the newly added fields are not getting populdated with the value. In the system generated query's selection list, the newly added fields are not selected.
    Please let mw know how to get the newly added field selected in the system generated query of the infoset.
    Regards,
    -Purnima

    Hi,
    As you said you have added the filed in Info Set. Have you included the same in data source? try if not.
    If you are trying to create a query in source system to check the data. I guess in R/3 (ECC) then you have to include the new field in slection critera (ther is an option available on top menu).
    I would suggest before creating any query go to RSO2 select the data source. Display the field structure and check if the filed is there or not. You maysee Infoset level data directly by data display from top menu. Try that optionas well to check.
    I hope it will help.
    THanks,
    S
