Adding new Data Object while migrating from MI 2.5 to NM7.1
Dear All,
We have a custom MI 2.5 application which we need to migrate to 7.1. While migration, we want to add a newly created data object also in migrated application. But when I try to import MBO model, it is not letting me import new data object. The import finishes successfully. But changes in merepmeta.xml are not done. It creates a file with back up of existing merepmeta.xml i.e. merepmeta.xml.bak and create new merepmeta.xml but it is blank. Am I missing something???
When I import MBO only with existing data objects (syncbos), it is allowing me perfectly. It is changing the merepmeta.xml accordingly as well without creating backup.
Thanks in advance,
Saptak Kulkarni.
Dear Arjun,
To answer your questions, previously all the SyncBOs were downloaded independently taking username as the import parameter in getList. (Default values). Yes we can provide the same with 7.1 but we wanted to have some sorts of associations between all SyncBOs.
So first of all, we changed all the BAPI wrappers of old SyncBOs to download all the data independent of user. Now we created new Data Object to only download user specific data. We associated all other Data Objects on this DO. Created a rule for this data object to only download the sync user instance. We were expecting that whenever a user syncs, a single instance of new user data object will get downloaded and subsequently all other data objects having relationship on user will get downloaded. I hope this is not much confusing.
Now while we import the MBO model, if we don't import new user data object, then also other data object instance get downloaded and fortunately properly filtered. We don't receive any kind of error over here.
The new data object is not used anywhere in the application. The associations are in new data object and not in the older one. New data object is the leading one wherein others follow.
Not a single instance is getting dropped for other Data Objects.
The xml is blank only when we try to import the new Data Object and correctly it gives an error as expected when I try to deploy the application.
Thanks in advance,
Saptak.

Issue with data Validation while migrating from one application to another
Hi All,
I am having a strange issue Kindly please help me .
I have a data form which have data validation on each cell.The dataform is quite large and contain data for 4 accounts and year (Jan to Dec) combination .The issue is that I when I migrate this data form to other application which is just the replica of the main application. The validation on each cells changes its reference points.
I have 5 more similar data form and I need to migrate then to other application and also on production sever. Is there any way that while exporting and importing them using formutil.cmd or other way that the validation cells reference does not change its reference point.
For ex I have validation on Cell A5,A6..........AA6 after migrating it changes to A1,A1.........AA1.
I am using 11.1.2.1.0 version of Hyperion Planning
Kindly please help.
Thanks in advance
Vikash
Edited by: user11391767 on Nov 30, 2011 10:47 AMHi Mehmet,
I tried using the FormDefUtil.cmd .But by using this the reference points of validation changes to first cell when imported.
Thanks

How to get the currrent month and year from a new date object
If I create a new Date object as "d",
java.util.Date d = new java.util.Date();how can I format the date to get the current Month as 'Jan' and the current year as '2008'. So if I have something like d.getMonth() gets the current month as 'Oct' and d.getYear() gets '2008'
Thanks,

TableSorter errors when adding new data
so here is the deal:
I am using the TableSorter.java helper class with DefaultTableModel
from: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/table.html
It works great when the data is static and I get it for the first time. however, occationally, when adding new data I get a NullPointerException error.
in use:
DefaultTableModel.addRow()
DefaultTableModel.removeRow() and
DefaultTableModel.insertRow() methods.

* TableSorter is a decorator for TableModels; adding sorting
* functionality to a supplied TableModel. TableSorter does
* not store or copy the data in its TableModel; instead it maintains
* a map from the row indexes of the view to the row indexes of the
* model. As requests are made of the sorter (like getValueAt(row, col))
* they are passed to the underlying model after the row numbers
* have been translated via the internal mapping array. This way,
* the TableSorter appears to hold another copy of the table
* with the rows in a different order.
* <p/>
* TableSorter registers itself as a listener to the underlying model,
* just as the JTable itself would. Events recieved from the model
* are examined, sometimes manipulated (typically widened), and then
* passed on to the TableSorter's listeners (typically the JTable).
* If a change to the model has invalidated the order of TableSorter's
* rows, a note of this is made and the sorter will resort the
* rows the next time a value is requested.
* <p/>
* When the tableHeader property is set, either by using the
* setTableHeader() method or the two argument constructor, the
* table header may be used as a complete UI for TableSorter.
* The default renderer of the tableHeader is decorated with a renderer
* that indicates the sorting status of each column. In addition,
* a mouse listener is installed with the following behavior:
* <ul>
* <li>
* Mouse-click: Clears the sorting status of all other columns
* and advances the sorting status of that column through three
* values: {NOT_SORTED, ASCENDING, DESCENDING} (then back to
* NOT_SORTED again).
* <li>
* SHIFT-mouse-click: Clears the sorting status of all other columns
* and cycles the sorting status of the column through the same
* three values, in the opposite order: {NOT_SORTED, DESCENDING, ASCENDING}.
* <li>
* CONTROL-mouse-click and CONTROL-SHIFT-mouse-click: as above except
* that the changes to the column do not cancel the statuses of columns
* that are already sorting - giving a way to initiate a compound
* sort.
* </ul>
* <p/>
* This is a long overdue rewrite of a class of the same name that
* first appeared in the swing table demos in 1997.

PeterThe code you posted doesn't help us at all. Its just a duplicate of the code from the tutorial. The custom code is what you have written. For example do you update the TableModel from the Event Thread? Do you update the SortModel or the DefaultTableModel? If you actually provide your test code and somebody has already downloaded the sort classes, then maybe they will test your code against the classes. But I doubt if people will download the sort classes and create a test program just to see if they can duplicate your results (at least I know I'm not about to).

Adding new date field to already loaded data target.
Hi,
we have a cube containing date feild such as 0CALMONTH. the data is being loaded to the cube. now they have added new date feild (0FISCYEAR). how to get data to this feild. there is no data coming from source system for this feild. please can any one tell me how to include this feild and load data into it.
with regards,
sreekanth.Sreekanth,
If Record creation date is the right field for deriving fiscal year, Why cant you derive the year from the date...by using automatioc time conversion...?? In update rules...??
For exising data, you can do loop back to populate the data. see the below doc, for more info:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f421c86c-0801-0010-e88c-a07ccdc69601
Hope it Helps

BRFplus: Adding Intermediate Data Objects to Expression Workarea
Hi all,
running BRFplus on NW 70105.
I have a Step Sequence Expression with multiple steps calling various Functions. Some of the Functions return intermediate results which must be stored in the context workarea.
I would like to add these Data Objects to the workarea. However the system will not allow me to do this without first adding the Data Objects as signature parameters of the calling Function, even though this does not make sense for intermediate values.
Clicking the "Add existing Data Object" button for the workarea only allows me to add Data Objects which are in the context of the calling Function.
Conversely if a Data Object is deleted from the calling Function's signature, then when checked the Function issues error message "Assigned expression uses Element CUSTOMER/Customer which is not in the context".
Is the requirement to add all Expression workarea Data Objects to the calling Function's signature intended, or is this a bug ? Or is there some other way of doing it that I am missing ??
Thanks & regards,
GroganThis is a restriction in NW 701. This restriction is removed in NW 702.

Multiple contacts created while migrating from blackberry to i phone 6
while migrating from blackberry to i phone 6, i have inherited multiple contact lists. each is different in some way or the other. also, the one on my new phone is different. i need to merge all into one. how do it do it?
Your question doesn't seem to be related to Microsoft Word at all. I suggest that you try a forum that deals with IPhone.

Problem while migrating from Sybase to Oracle using Quick Migrate
Hi,
For SQL Developer version 2.1, while migrating from sybase to oracle, Using Quick migrate, during data move step, for the rows having ''(Blank) values in TEXT data type in SYBASE, which is convertd to CLOB in Oracle, the migration for that table terminates at that row.
However, NULL values in Sybase TEXT data type are successfully inserted in Oracle CLOB.
How can we overcome this?reproduced and see exception in console, bug logged.

Coverting Date.toString() back to a new Date object
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/util/Date.html#toString()
After reading this, I am able to see the output format:
dow mon dd hh:mm:ss zzz yyyy
However, my questions is, what if you want to convert this String back into a new Date object later? After reviewing SimpleDateFormatter and other related classes, I find nowhere there is a linked parsing that allows this to be easily coverted back into a new Date object at runtime.
Am I wrong?
Thanks.Yup, the problem is that I do not have a reference to
the original string. Is there a simple direct way to
do this?Wait, I misread this. The original string?
If you have a Date and get a String out of it, and you later want the original Date, then it's generally better to restructure your app to preserve the original Date. If for some reason that isn't an option (although often things are options when you don't think they are), then you can use SimpleDateFormat to produce a new Date object who value matches the date that the String represents. -
"App_DispatcherUnhandledException" cannot work while migrating from VSTS2010 to VSTS2013
In the past, our project was developed in VSTS2010 and .NET 4.0, everything works well.
Right now, while migrating from VSTS2010 to VSTS2013 and from .NET 4.0 to .NET 4.5.1, we found that the exceptions thrown from one UI thread cannot be caught and handled in main thread.
I mean, once the exception is thrown, the "App_DispatcherUnhandledException" cannot catch and handle it in Debug.
During the migration, we don't change any codes and just update the project configuration file.
Is anyone know how to solve this problem?
Thanks so much!!Hello Zeng Wei,
It seems we do not have an edition called VSTS2013, it is old version when in
2005. Can I just understand you are upgrade your project from Visual Studio 2010 to Visual Studio 2013?
Anyway, for App_DispatcherUnhandledException that cannot be raised, we can check the MSDN article:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.application.dispatcherunhandledexception.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
If an exception is not handled on either a background user interface (UI) thread (a thread with its own
Dispatcher) or a background worker thread (a thread without a
Dispatcher), the exception is not forwarded to the main UI thread. Consequently,
DispatcherUnhandledException is not raised. In these circumstances, you will need to write code to do the following:
Handle exceptions on the background thread.
Dispatch those exceptions to the main UI thread.
Rethrow them on the main UI thread without handling them to allow DispatcherUnhandledException to be raised.
Another thing is that please make sure you have this code:e.Handled =
true

Problem while migrating from JSF1.1 to JSF1.2
I'm facing the following issues while migrating from WAS 6.1 to WAS7.0
For this I have upgraded Jsf 1.1 to 1.2 and webmodule to 2.5, and following errors I'm having...
1. Description The method getExceptionMessageString(String) is undefined for the type Util
2. Description The method getMyForm(UIComponent) in the type CommandLinkRenderer is not applicable for the arguments (FacesContext, UICommand)
3. Description The method getName() is undefined for the type HtmlBasicRenderer.Param LinkRendererWithName.java
4. Description The method getParamList(UIComponent) in the type HtmlBasicRenderer is not applicable for the arguments (FacesContext, UICommand)
5. Description The method getValue() is undefined for the type HtmlBasicRenderer.Param LinkRendererWithName.java
Any alternative methods to those above methods in JSF1.2?
or am I need to upgrade any of the jaf dependencies?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

But you should consider implementing your Renderers only using the API and not extending the com.sun.faces.* implementation classes, or you might end up changing your code again on your next jsf updates.Hm, good thinking. I didn't think about the split between the API and the implementation.
OT question on that subject: is it really good design to have that split? JSF, JAXB, JAX-WS, even CDI has an API and an implementation part to it. But do we really need that? In the case of JSF, you have Mojarra and Myfaces (and some other obscure JSF implementation I believe). But why would you use Myfaces over Mojarra since they both solve the same problem and are both actively developed? Why do we have to deal with API/implementation conflict hell that you can often find when using JAXB, especially in a Mavenized environment? We have Weld as the implementation for CDI. What would move anyone to make a 'competing' implementation of it?
For something like JPA I can at least understand it; the persistence providers were already there before JPA saw the light of day. There was no need for Sun to create a competing implementation, so they provided the API in stead. But in all other cases... I just don't get it. -
