Adding pagination in report build from PL/SQL dynamic content using htp.p

Hi,
I have a requirement for which i used PL/SQL dynamic content to build my report and i displayed my report using a cursor and loop by HTP.P function.
Now problem is I have report with more than 500 rows and I want to add pagination concept for this report.
How can i do that?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Smith

To preserve heading on each page for a HTML table you can use the THEADER, TFOOTER and TBODY tags (see example). To force page breaks, try experimenting with these style attributes:
<STYLE TYPE="text/css">
     tr.breakhere {page-break-before: always}
</STYLE>
<tr class="breakhere">Table Example:
htp.tableopen;
htp.print('<THEAD style="display:table-header-group">');
... your table headers here
htp.print('</THEAD>');
htp.print('<TFOOT style="display:table-footer-group"><TR><TD></TFOOT>');
htp.print('<TBODY>');
... your rows here
htp.print('</TBODY>');
htp.tableclose;Edited by: crokitta on Apr 8, 2009 2:07 PM

  • Building a report using "PL/SQL Dynamic Content" can I have it output PDF?

    Hi,
    I build several reports using the "PL/SQL Dynamic Content" region and htp.p().
    The output is exactly what the customer wants but they would now like to have it go into PDF document.
    Is there a way to do it?
    Bill

    Bill,
    You can integrate APEX with Oracle BI Publisher and have your report generated to PDF.
    If you're just interested in saving what is on a web page in PDF, have a look at CuteFTP (Windows), which is a free print driver that allows you to "print" to a PDF file as if it were a printer. On the Mac, you can save to PDF and do not need any additional software.
    Thanks,

  • Call Report Builder from Jdeveloper 10g with parameters

    hello , how are you
    i am in oracle forms for long , today i am work in jdeveloper 10g, i want some questions
    1- how call oracle report builder from oracle jdeveloper 10g with parameters
    2- if there aren't call from jdeveloper 10g, what is good report tools?
    thanks.

    I'm assuming that what you want to do is actually run a report from a JDeveloper application.
    To do this you can use the various ways that Reports offer to invoke reports with the report server - including URL & Web Service interfaces.
    More information on these in the Oracle Reports - Publishing reports manual.

    INTO :P23_ID, :P23_NAME, :P23_OWNER;
    END;
    im getting the error:

    The easiest (and best) way to "display rows" is using a report. Dynamic PL/SQL regions are more complex and are required much less frequently.

  • Do Report Builder support custom SQL Functions

    Hi All,
    I’m new to SSRS Report builder. I had written a SQL query which executes really well when I run in Management Studio. I tried to put that same query in new report to everyone can easily access.  I build the DataSource and connection successfully tested.
    At the time of creating new Dataset, I pasted same query and that’s where I got stuck.
    Is it possible to add custom SQL Functions in the Report Builder SSRS?
    The Syntax of method is as follow
    Create Function [dbo].[ufn_Sqlstatement]( @str as varchar(max)) RETURNS varchar(max)
    Thanks in Advance

    You do not need to put the create function script into the query. It only needs to be executed once. Instead, run it on the database server. Then, simply call the function from your query:
    SELECT dbo.ufn_SQLstatement('select * from table')

  • Send a report to report server from PL/SQL Procedure

    Hi Report Gurus,
    Please can I know how to run a report from pl/sql stored procedure. Is there any way to execute URL from PL/SQL?
    Thanks,
    Simi.

    Why, yes there is!
    If you're talking about PL/SQL stored in the database, check the function UTL_HTTP.REQUEST. A "describe utl_http" in SQL*Plus will do the trick.
    But if you're talking about PL/SQL inside Forms, you can use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT instead.
    Hope this helps,

    On Database
    create or replace type empRow as object (

    Last_name Varchar2(25)
    create or replace type empTable as table of empRow;

  • Calling Report Builder From Server(aspx page ) With encrypted username and password

    Hi ,
    Our application needs to have a link to Report Builder which will open a report builder for that current report and user can modify it accordingly.
    Currently our approach is to use a client side(JavaScript) url link which is in form as follows
    http://username:password@domain/ReportServer_SQLDEVELOPER/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application?/ReportName
    But we do not want to show username and password in clear text , SO we have tried to pass it through ajax call and call the url from server or pass username and password in Authorization headers . Unfortunately , this does not serve our purpose and we are
    getting Unauthorized in firebug Console .We are using REST Services .Below is screenshot:

    Put the domain in the Intranet Zone instead, and try again. They should not be prompted for auth as long as they log in with cached Domain Creds.

  • Creating page items from pl/sql procedure and using them on a page

    I have a page containing 2 select lists (P21_DEPARTMENTS and P21_DATE). Originally I added them as items that were "select list with submits". The problem is that based on the clearance level of the currently logged on user I only wanted the P21_DEPARTMENTS to be a select list if the user was an administrator. If however the user is not an admin then I want the page to have a hidden form field called P21_DEPARTMENTS that stores the user's department and has a label item that has the department name.
    There is also a report region that generates a table based on the department selected from the select list (if the user is an admin) or the value stored in the hidden form field if the user is not.
    My problem is that I cannot have both those items on the same page and use the HTML built-in authentication to determine which item should be rendered because I need to use the same ID for both items so that the stored procedure in my report region doesn't break. HTML does not permit items to share the same ID.
    I tried to circumvent the problem by creating a stored procedure that performs all of the item rendering in the procedure and uses "htp.p()" to output all of my HTML code. This solution would allow me to pass a parameter into the procedure informing me as to whether or not the user is an administrator. If the user is an administrator the procedure would use a conditional statement and render a select list. If not, the hidden form field and label option would be used instead.
    I finally got the stored procedure working perfectly. Now I am encountering the most bizarre thing. Since the "select list with submit" was not working (I used the same code that gets generated when I created other items using htmlDB's GUI) I decided to use a JavaScript function instead that gets triggered by the onChange event. I send along the value that is currently selected in the select list and in the function I set:
    location.href='http://www.myoraclesite.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=111:21:729740000000000000::NO::P21_DEPARTMENTS:1';
    In theory this should work. The problem is that it doesn't. The page reloads and the P21_DEPARTMENTS select list is not pre-selected.
    The only thing I can think of is that when htmlDB generates page items that you've created with it's own admin tool it assigns some internal guid or something as opposed to when someone tries to generate dynamic page items of their own from a pl/sql procedure it's like the application doesn't even know they exist.
    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    My only other solution would be to create a totally separate page (one for admin and another for non-admin). I would really like to avoid this.
    Thanks in advance.

    I would love to be able to generate my menus and
    various other items in my htmlDB applications in much
    the same way I can using ASP, PHP and Cold Fusion.
    Users should have the ability to write server-side
    code wherever they feel like it. The way htmlDB works
    right now I spend more time trying to figure out how
    to create simple effects and generate simple
    interfaces when I need to be building a portal. Ami - it's important to understand that HTML DB is not like other languages. Thus, trying to force concepts which are common in other languages into HTML DB will often result in more work.
    It's definitely worth the time to go over the HTML DB 2-day Developer, which can be found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/htmldb/pdf/B14377_01.pdf
    I can build a portal using Classic ASP, C#, PHP or Cold
    Fusion in like 1/10 of the time that it takes me to
    build one using htmlDB. I understand that this is not
    meant for the hard-core programmer but no web
    programming application in today's day and age should
    prevent experts from getting under the hood.And I can build a Portal in HTML DB in 1/10 the time it will take me to do it in any other language. It's like anything else - proficiency comes with practice and work.
    As for getting under the hood, there is plenty of places you can do that with HTML DB. Keep in mind that HTML DB itself is an HTML DB application, so the limits on what you can build with HTML DB are virtually limitless.
    Sorry for the vent there. After spending the last 2
    days trying to figure out how to implement such a
    straightforward thing and now being informed that it
    can't be done kind of bugged me.I understand your frustration, as I've been there before. My rule for beginners is that if you are writing more than a line or two of code in the first week, you're doing something wrong. Stop, take a break, and then use the ample resources (including searching this forum) to help solve your problem. There are plenty of resources available for you to learn about HTML DB on the HTML DB home page: http://otn.oracle.com/htmldb
    Good luck,

  • Querying a Worksheet from PL/SQL Dynamic Page in Oracle Portal

    Is there a way to actually ask Discoverer to give me a list of values for a report property from outside Discoverer?
    In my case, I am trying to add reports to Oracle Portal via the Worksheet Portlet but I want to build a select list that contains valid entries for discoverer to run through the portlet for a discoParameter value. Is there any better way to get the list of values other than running the report's query 2x (once in discoverer to load the report and once in portal to get the list of values)?

    Hello David,
    This is not a feature for Discoverer Portlet but as far as I can see Oracle Portal has Page Parameter Form that migh help in creating dynamic list of values. Please check in MetaLink :

    Hi!
    1. Make sure no one else has opened the same file.
    2. Dont put image on your report.

  • Report Builder 3.0 odbc database name using parameters

     I am using an ODBC connection for my Datasource in a report  (MYSQL).
    I have a valid connection for the report using a database name in the connection string  i.e. 'BOE-201402'.
    However I need to be able to allow the user to run the report using different databases.
    I can get a list of the databases as a parameter by setting a dataset using the following
    SELECT `SCHEMA_NAME` FROM `information_schema`.`SCHEMATA` WHERE `SCHEMA_NAME` LIKE 'BOE-%' ORDER BY `SCHEMA_NAME` DESC;
    i.e.
    BOE-201402
    BOE-201401
    I have set a parameter called @BOE_DATABASE from the drop down list provided above.
    What I need to do is before rendering the report is to be able to point the datasource to the database stored in @BOE_DATABASE so that the results that are in the report come from the chosen database.
    I am sure that there is a way to do this as I have done this using ACTUATE BIRT reporting tool which we want to replace urgently with Microsoft SQL
    I would sincerely like to thank any quick response on this matter

  • Referencing a "checked record" from my ADDT Dynamic List using a SPRY Menu

    I have just posted a Beta of my site to:
    http://www.clearwave.biz/Beta/T1COElogin.cfm
    - Username is: Beta
    - Password is: 123
    - Once you are logged in you should see the ADDT list w/one
    order listed.
    - Click on the Printer icon & the Order Agreement will
    open in PDF. (this works fine)
    - Click on the InfoSheet link & the Report will open in
    PDF as well. (this works fine)
    - Everything works fine if you use the links on the same line
    as the record.
    - But if you check the CheckBox on the left, then choose the
    Spry Menu above, Reports/T1 Agreement the report will not work?
    Question: What should the Link be to reference the checked
    item below, pass the CustID value to the report & print the
    PDF?
    (Note: the CF report has the following line in the SQL:
    (tblT1OrderProcessing2.T1CustID = #param.T1CustID#) and the report
    prints fine in Report Builder if I pass it the T1CustID, as well as
    if I click the links on the same line as mentioned above, so this
    is just an issue of grabbing the CustID value from the checked line
    & passing it to the report link in the Spry menu)
    Here is a visual picture of my Dynamic List page:

    http://www.clearwave.biz/Beta/reports/T1_Service_Agreement.cfm?T1CustID=1508
    and the link to the InfoSheet:
    http://www.clearwave.biz/Beta/reports/T1_Information_Sheet.cfr?T1CustID=1508
    Both of these work perfectly by grabbing the T1CustID value
    of 1508 from the line.
