Adding second site to link

i have added a link in dreamweaver using this code <a href="www.crop.cropsupplies.com" title="Our New Store" target="_blank">Here</a>
when i click on the link it takes me to this website http://articalwizzard.com/www.crop.cropsupplies.com. which does not exist, how can i stop this link from adding articalwizzard.com/ to the begining?

You need to have the http:// prefix before the www.

  • Adding a second site

I want to add another site using iWeb. I currently have my personal site up but want to add a new business site with a domain name I purchased. How do I add another site without changing the setting of my personal site?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Does your personal site have a domain name? If it does then add the second site in iWeb so it appears just below your current personal site. When ready publish (I'm assuming you're publishing to a MMe account, correct) the site.
Since a MMe account can have only one site using CNAME forwarding you will have to use URL forwarding for the business site. Forward the domain name to http://web.me.com/YourMMe_Account_Named/SiteName with or without domain name masking.

If your personal site does not have a domain name then move the business site to the top in iWeb and publish. Now you can use the CNAME method of domain name forwarding because only the top site can use CNAME.

  • OAM Second Site Issue

I'm running into an issue with OAM forcing users to re-authenticate to the application they are logged into when I access a second site protected by OAM.
I'm using the same forms authentication scheme setup for both sites. I access site 1 first and log in. Then site 1 has a link that pops up a new window that takes the user to the second site. The user gets logged in automatically to the second site without any issues. But when I try to do anything in site 1, it forces me to re-authenticate.
I've read on metalink that if the shared secret is corrupted that this could occur, but I regenerated the shared secret and restarted all the OAM components but still run into this issue.
Both sites are in the same domain. Is there something I need to do with the policy of the authentication level?

Thanks for the response. Both sites are using the same webgate, and timeout is set pretty high since this is dev. The authentication level is the same as is the directory store.
I'm using the same form login auth scheme for both sites. I'm going to try creating two different form logins and adding the redirect to see if that will help.

  • On a propritary web site I use, I get an error trying to upload a document; in IE I can solve this by adding the site to the list of trusted sites, how do I handle it in Firefox?

    The error message is
    Server Error in '/' Application.
StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex
I can avoid the message in IE by adding the site to the list of trusted sites.
How do I accomplish the same thing in Firefox?

First, you should be receiving email notifications of any reply; you haven't because there haven't been any. Second, should you be able to access that website? Have you done it before? Occasionally, I've gotten a similar message from websites I frequent but trying later will often clear the problem. Other times, I've gone to websites I really don't have permission to access and the website knows it. Also, you might try another browser, such as Firefox or Opera.
Finally, if you mean the Birchmere Music Hall, I get the same error message, and if Ticketmaster needs to access that website for ticket and event dates, it can't get through either. I'd suggest waiting for whomever handles the Birchmere website to fix it, or call them on the phone.
BTW, it's not a good idea to put your email address out for all to see. If you can still edit the post, delete it.

  • Second and subsequent links (clicked on from an email) fail to open with Firefox 4.0.1.

    Hello,
I recently upgraded for Firefox v. 4.0.1. After this upgrade, whenever I click on a "second" or subsequent link in an email (or another email), only an empty tab opens. The web-page corresponding to a "first click" on a link in an email opens fine. I did not face this problem with prior versions of Fire Fox.
Please let me if I need to change any options or settings in order to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Two Sites Published With iWeb...Viewers Get Error Message With Second Site

I have used iWeb to create two web sites. I believe I have done so properly, using File>New Site to begin creating the second site. After publishing, I can visit both sites from within iWeb.
Curiously, the message panel that displays after successful publishing indicates the same URL for both web sites. Obviously, that's wrong. That address will open the first site properly (after automatically adding additional characters to the URL during opening), but is incorrect for the second site. As an alternative, I have visited both sites from within iWeb, and copied the URL from the browser window as the "proper" address.
When I use the copied URL's in my own browser, I can navigate to each of the websites properly. However, when I give those URL's to someone else, they get an error message that the second site cannot be found using the URL for the second site that I obtained using the "copying" technique described. That's the case even though both URL's work properly from my computer and browser.
Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

  • Second site has a hyperlink in the Announcement, but not in Safari Navbar!

Earlier I told you all that when I made a second site in my iWeb site, it did not show up when I tried to see it on Safari.
Subsequent to that, I finished a bunch of tasks and was shown that message that pops up asking whether or not I want to send an Announcement. I clicked Yes, and an email message popped up. It was a generically formatted email saying The Website Is Ready For You To See and Here is the hyperlink.
I noticed that there were TWO, not just one, hyperlinks. I noticed that in that announcement, the second hyperlink was for the second site that I created in iWeb but which never showed up in Safari. (I clicked all the right clicks to make them show up, too.)
    So the question is:
Why does the Safari website Navbar not show the existence of my second site, the Announcement email that goes out to my friends does provide a hyperlink for that second site? (Someone here told me that I have to give that second site a name, and I have not yet done so. So if I have not, then why does the Announcement acknowledge that second site?)
    Lorna in Southern California

    Hi Lorna,
I don't use the announcement function, so it's
interesting to me that it does that. Thanks for the
    heads up.
As far as your second site goes, iWeb does not
automatically put a link in the navigation menu of
the first site to help people go to your second site.
You will need to do this yourself if that's what you
want. You will also want to provide a link back to
the first site on the second site so that your
visitors can "travel" from site to site back and
forth. But iWeb really considers the two sites to
be separate and that's why it doesn't do this
    automatically for you.
Some people who have multiple sites choose to make a
sort of Welcome page that functions as a directory of
their sites. On this page, all they have is buttons
that are linked to each of their sites so that people
can just click and go to the respective site. Just
another idea to throw out there.
And you know what? I am wavering between second site and just one site. Lorna in Southern California

  • Cannot "visit" second site.

I have a personal domain website and I am trying to put together a second website but not with a personal domain. When I "publish" the second and then "visit" I get my first site instead. I am able to reach the site with the url.
Also, am I correct in saying the second site cannot be a private site?
    RJN40

Do as Old Toad suggested and visit your site using the MobileMe URL.....
    http://web.me.com/username/sitename/
Then bookmark it for future visits.
If you want to be able to visit the second, and subsequent sites, using the Visit button you need to build them on separate domain files. See....

  • Site-relative links fail on local testing server

Using CS4/WAMP/XP, I have a testing server set up. All works well except that when I specify site-relative links, on the testing server they go back to localhost, not localhost/Frances. They work fine on the live site, but not on my testing server.
This prevents me from using (well, testing) 'include' files for things like menus when parts of the site are in different folders.
I have my site setup as follows:
    Local Info
    Site name "FFG2009"
    Local root folder C:\wamp\www\Frances\
    Default images folder C:\wamp\www\Frances\images\
    HTTP Address: http://localhost/Frances/
    Testing Server
    Server model: PHP/MySQL
    Access: Local/Network
    Testing Server Folder: C:\wamp\www\Frances testing\
    URL Prefix: http://localhost/Frances/
In my Apache config file I have a virtual directory set up like this
    Alias /Frances/ "c:/wamp/www/Frances/"
    <Directory "c:/wamp/www/Frances/">
        options all +includes
        AllowOverride all
        Order allow,deny
        Allow from 127.0.0.1
    </Directory>
I have been advised that I could temporarily change the Apache webroot folder to my "Frances" folder, but that stops other things like PHPMyAdmin from working. Also I have other sites within my www directory and I'd rather not have to change the Apache rootweb directory every time I need to work on a different site.
Is there a way to set up my site in CS4 so that site root links go to localhost/Frances rather than just localhost?
    Thanks
    Tone'z

    Many thanks Mark.
I fact I spent all yesterday coming to the same solution. Finally at around 12:30am this morning it worked!
Early in the day I found the same reference you mentioned in an on-line copy of David Power's book where he exactly described the very problem I had - and with the VH solution.
However, I had a problem with an obscure syntax error in the virtual hosts include file. I still don't know what it was. The flag to perform a syntax check on HTTPD startup didn't discover it. The problem actually prevented the Apache service from starting at all but that little point escaped me for a long time because the WAMP system tray icon is so small I didn't spot that it was telling me "some services are running" (half yellow) instead of "all services are running" (white).
It wasn't until I ran (in desperation!) Apache Monitor that it became obvious that Apache was tripping over this virtual host definition and failing to start.
It also seems that if you have any virtual host directive in an include file, then it negates the localhost directive in the Apache config file. So when I define the Frances virtual host, I also need to have localhost defined in the include file.
It was this localhost directive that was causing the problem. I found it by having Apache Monitor running so I can see the true state of the Apache service and, after pointing the config file 'include' directive to a vhosts file...
empty the vhosts file - Apache starts - 'localhost' works, frances doesn't - makes sense.
add the frances virtualhost definition to the vhosts file - Apache starts -  'frances' goes to the frances site, 'localhost' does too (dam')
add the localhost virtualhost definition to the vhosts file - Apache fails to start - "IE cannot display this page"
pull out the localhost definition - Apache starts... hmmmm... .
find an example localhost definition from somewhere else - to all intents and purposes identical to mine - add it in - Apache starts!
Both localhost and frances now work! Maybe there was a space where no space should be - I don't know.
Of course I also had to add entries into windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts to point to 127.0.0.1.
Oh yes, virtualhosts are fussy about folder names. You cannot have spaces in a folder name.
    Thanks

  • Enterprise Mode for Internet Explorer 11. Difference in how adding a site works.

I am noticing a difference in how adding a site to open in Enterprise Mode works.
When I incorporate a XML file created by the List Manager, containing 'http://mysite/mypath'.   Enterprise mode functions for the entire site.  When I say entire site, I mean pages in virtual directories also open in Enterprise Mode.
This is good.   But I for the time being I would like to put it on my users to approve their sites.
However, if I choose to not use a file and just allow the users to add sites, when they go to 'http://mysite/mypath' then go to Tools and Enterprise Mode to add the site.    We close Internet Explorer, reopen, enter the site 'http://mysite/mypath'
opens in Enterprise Mode.   But when they navigate to pages located in virtual directories, they display in standards mode.   And would need to be added separately by going to Tools -> Enterprise Mode.
I just want to know am I seeing this behavior correctly, or am I possibly missing a step.
Thanks in advance for the response and feedback.

  • When I link to an external site, the link does not work, if I right click "Open in new tab" the link works.

When I link to an external site, the link does not work, if I right click "Open in new tab" the link works.

I have not changed any of my preferences and they look like they are as I would have left them.
I tried resetting Firefox and deleting the preference file, no change.
By the way, I hate that the tabs are on top and not where they belong above the pages they are for. There should still be a way in Firefox to put them back without having to use an add-in.

  • Second Site not showing up, why?

I have made a second site and published it along with republishing my first (happened automatically).
My first site is www.fowlplaygoosepatrol.com, the second is www.fowlplaygoosepatrol.com/BorderBay_JunctionFarm
I cannot see or visit the second site. Tried refreshing, changing browsers, even another computer.
Tried to change the order of sites. No difference. I bought both domains and have a redirect in place from www.fowlplaygoosepatrol.com to my .Mac account, I have the second domain ready (borderbayjunctionfarm), but have not instituted the redirect yet since it doesn't seem to be working. No matter what I do it goes to the original first page of FPGP.
I am using iWeb 08, though the original site was done on the first version. It was updated when I first opened it in 08.
Any help would be appreciated. Also the Google maps would not take my address, it kept defaulting to Apple's address.
    Thanks,
    Greg

I can open your first & second Site:
    http://web.mac.com/greggel/FowlPlay_Goose_Patrol/AboutUs.html
    http://web.mac.com/greggel/BorderBay_JunctionFarm/FARM.html
When you want to visit a site, select the Sitename in the iWeb navigation pane on the left and click visit site.
Just focus on iWeb and dotMac.

I published a website using iWeb.  I began using iWeb to create a second site and now I can't find my original site's work on my Mac.

If you're publishing directly from iWeb 3 to your FTP server then you'll have the following in your accounts root directory:
    Site 1 folder
    Site 2 folder
    Site 3 folder
index.html file from last published site directling to the last published site.
If you want to keep Site 1 as the primary site you'll need to publish it one more time to the server so you get it's index.html file uploaded.
Now you'll have to publish Sites 2 and 3 to a folder on the hard drive and use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck, YummyLite or Transmit  to upload only the site folder (and not its external index.html file with it).
The url to sites 2 and 3 will be:
    http://doman_name.com/Site 2
