Adding = value to an existing "Count" query
I took this query from an existing 2012 report but need to modify it to only report software with a Count of 25 or more. Tried to add a HAVING statement but get an syntax error. Should I be using a HAVING statement or modify the WHERE clause?
SELECT DisplayName0, Count(*) AS 'Count', Publisher0, Version0, @CollID as CollectionID
FROM fn_rbac_Add_Remove_Programs(@UserSIDs) arp
JOIN fn_rbac_FullCollectionMembership(@UserSIDs) fcm on arp.ResourceID=fcm.ResourceID
WHERE fcm.CollectionID = @CollID
GROUP BY DisplayName0, Publisher0, Version0
ORDER BY Publisher0, Version0
HAVING COUNT(*) >= 25
Should be added between GROUP BY and ORDER BY.

I just wanted to note this on the forum..
I'm using Apex 3.0.1.00.08
My DEV environment has just been upgraded from 10g version 10.2.0.2.0 to 10.2.0.4.0.
I created the following process to select some values into some items on my Form page.
select MAX(STAT_YEAR+1)
, pcd.pct_id
, pcd.stat_type_id
, pcd.stat_period_type_id
, pcd.measurement_id
into :P11_STAT_YEAR
, :P11_PCT_ID
, :P11_STAT_TYPE_ID
, :P11_STAT_PERIOD_TYPE_ID
, :P11_MEASUREMENT_ID
from plant_commodity_data pcd
, stat_type stt
where pcd.STAT_TYPE_ID = stt.STAT_TYPE_ID
and pcd.pct_id = :P0_PCT_ID
and stt.stat_type = 'PRD'
group by pcd.pct_id
, pcd.stat_type_id
, pcd.stat_period_type_id
, pcd.measurement_id;The process should run conditionally if there was at least one row to select...
So I copied the SQL into the Process condition, removed the "into" section and set the condition type to be "Exists (SQL query retruns at least one row) ...
select MAX(STAT_YEAR+1)
, pcd.pct_id
, pcd.stat_type_id
, pcd.stat_period_type_id
, pcd.measurement_id
from plant_commodity_data pcd
, stat_type stt
where pcd.STAT_TYPE_ID = stt.STAT_TYPE_ID
and pcd.pct_id = :P0_PCT_ID
and stt.stat_type = 'PRD'
group by pcd.pct_id
, pcd.stat_type_id
, pcd.stat_period_type_id
, pcd.measurement_id;This worked perfectly until the DEV environment was upgraded from 10g version 10.2.0.2.0 to 10.2.0.4.0.
The condition would fire even if there were no rows returning.
I pasted the condition code into SQL Developer connected to the DEV (10.2.0.4.0) environment and it returned no rows.
To solve the problem, I removed the MAX.
You can test this using this code if you have access to the two versions... select MAX(1)
, sysdate
, 'Gus'
from dual
where 1 = 2
group by sysdate, 2Now I know the MAX isn't required in the condition as I'm just trying to find out if any rows exist, but it was there as I copied the code in... I was just wondering why this happened between 10.2.0.2.0 and 10.2.0.4.0?
Gus..Hi Gus,
try to execute
select count(*) from dual where exists (select MAX(1)
, sysdate
, 'Gus'
from dual
where 1 = 2
group by sysdate, 2)in SQL Developer. The above statement is generated by APEX for an "Exists (SQL query retruns at least one row)". Can't test it, because I don't have a 10.2.0.4.0 at hand.
Does SQL Developer now show the same behavior?

How can we improve the perfromace of a count query?
Suppose I have a table A that holds more than 50 million rows.
Now if i want to count the no of rows which is the best one
1) Select count(*) from A.
Definitely not as it is doing a full table scan
2) Select count(primary_key) from A.
3) Select count(row_id) from A.
One more question whats the difference between select count(*) from table_name and select count(1) from table_a. Many people suggest count(1) and i dont see any reason though.
Kindly guide me.> Please see my points 1,2 and 3.
Can this change the execution plan (path) of the CBO in anyway?
1. count rows
2. count rows using primary key
3. counting rows using physical row addresses
The fact is that the rows, and all the rows, need to be counted. The CBO will choose the most "attractive" I/O path - i.e. the smallest one, the one with the least amount of I/O. It does not need tricks like COUNT(1) or COUNT(PK) or COUNT(ROWID) in order to make an appropriate decision.
Example:
SQL> create table tab1 nologging as select level as ID, LPAD('*',4000,'*') as STUFF from dual connect by level <= 10000;
Table created.
SQL> set autotrace on
Running a SELECT COUNT(*) without any alternate I/O paths (no indexes exist)
SQL> select count(*) from tab1;
COUNT(*)
10000

| Id | Operation | Name | Rows | Cost (%CPU)| Time |
| 0 | SELECT STATEMENT | | 1 | 2306 (4)| 00:00:28 |

Creating an PK index
SQL> alter table tab1 add constraint pk_tab1 primary key(id) using index;
Table altered.
Running the same SELECT COUNT(*) - but the CBO now sees that the PK index
is smaller and cheaper to scan than scanning the table
SQL> select count(*) from tab1;

Issue in adding Space to the existing Virtual Machine from added repository
Hi,
I'm facing issue in adding Space to the existing Virtual Machine (Guest OS) from added repository.
Environment details :
VM Server : /OVS => 130GB
/OVS/935970F2CC2D4B4391701397517F1001/ => 512 GB
Things I have done :
• I created a VM (Guest OS) in the VM Server with 120 GB
• After creating the VM (Guest OS) , When I tried adding a VIRTUAL DISK of size 150 GB , I got an error “Maximum available Disk space is only 10GB”.
My query :
• Will I be able to add space to Existing VM from the added Repository ( /OVS/935970F2CC2D4B4391701397517F1001/ ) , whose system.img is stored in path /OVS/running_pool/34_rhel/ .
Kindly help me out in this.
Thanks in advance.
-- SriHi all,
I checked with Oracle on the above and got the info currently , the we can utilise only the space available in the existing repo and cannot extend to additional repo.
Work around is : Clone it to the other repo , or Use Symbolic link .
Thanks,
Sri. -

I have added the colum to VO Criteria query
But then also the 6th search column is not visible in UI.
Can anyone suggest what am i missing???1) Check if the corresponding VO attribute is defined as "Queryable"
2) Check if the Rendered Mode of the corresponding criterion of the VO Criteria is "All" (the Rendered Mode is defined in the "Hints" page of the VO Criteria dialog box, select the criterion in order to see its Rendered Mode)

How to monitor the values transferred to the jump query in a debug mode?
Dear experts,
There is a problem in the interface of two qeuries. In the first query, the infoobject is defined as a global filter with a constant. I added this infoobject in the interface via RSBBS.
Nevertheless, if i run the jump query, the value in this InfoObject is not taken into account by the jump query.
Does anybody know whether there is a method to debug (monitor) the values tranferred to the jump query? For example, in the transaction RSRT or others.
Thanks in advance!in RSRT- EXECUTE+DEBUG => breakpoint in RRI transpormations

Use of EXISTS in Query..
Dear All,
I have a Query..In that query the below small Sub query is written.. I want to know the use of this query.. This query returns only 1..
Pls help me on this issue.
AND EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM M_INV_POS_RES IVPR
WHERE IVPR.FAH_ID IN ( SELECT DISTINCT FAH_ID
FROM M_SYS.M_FA_HEADERS
WHERE PROJ_ID = PROJ_ID
AND FAH_CODE = :FAH_CODE
AND RUN_NUMBER =RUN_NUMBER
Thanks
Shabu.The EXISTS function is true when the subquery returns a row and false when it doesnt return a row.
So, in your sample query, if your subquery returns the value '1', this means that it has retrieve a single/multiple rows, making the EXISTS function true. Otherwise, if your subquery does not return a row, it will not return any value, making your EXISTS function false.
also note that the '1' can also be changed to any static string (i.e. = "X"). This is just used as a flag, determining if the subquery returns a row or not. -
Add 2 new fields to an existing ABAP query in a particular position
Hello,
I have added 2 new fields to an existing ABAP query. These have been successfully added and the query is also executing.
But these 2 new fields are displaying at last. I need to add these fields in a particular column position.
Also I need to change the heading of these 2 new fields.
I tried to do so from the basic list, layout design from SQ01.
But I could not.... whatever I do.. the 2 new fields are displayed at the end of the list...
Please help meHi Andreas,
Do you mean that I should create a complete new abap query?
Is there no way to add some new fields at a particular position to an existing abap query? -

I'm using CursoredStream to fetch a large result set. When doing a cursor.size() Toplink generates the wrong count query. I do have group value functions in the query as shown below.
For e.g. this is the cursor query:
--- Actual select query ---
SELECT t0.AWARD_ID, t0.AWARD_NUMBER, t0.FINAL_AMOUNT, t2.NAME,
SUM(t1.REPORT_AMOUNT), t4.FISCAL_YEAR, t5.DESCRIPTION
FROM REF_ENTITY t6, T_CODE t5, SOL t4, APP t3, APP_VERSION t2, SUBG t1,
AWARD t0
WHERE ((((t4.FISCAL_YEAR = '1993') AND (t6.REF_ENTITY_ID = 5)) AND (t4.SUBG_
REPORT = 'Y')) AND ((t5.T_CODE_ID = t0.T_CODE_ID_STATUS) AND ((t2.APP_ID = t3.A
PP_ID) AND ((t6.REF_ENTITY_ID = t4.REF_ENTITY_ID) AND ((t4.SOL_ID = t3.SOL_ID)
AND ((t3.APP_ID = t0.APP_ID) AND (t0.AWARD_ID = t1.AWARD_ID)))))))
GROUP BY t0.FINAL_AMOUNT, t0.AWARD_ID, t0.AWARD_NUMBER, t4.FISCAL_YEAR, t5.D
ESCRIPTION, t2.NAME ORDER BY t0.AWARD_NUMBER ASC
The count query generated by Toplink is:
SELECT COUNT(*)
FROM REF_ENTITY t4, AWARD t3, APP t2, SOL t1, SUBG t0
WHERE ((((t1.FISCAL_YEAR = ?) AND (t4.REF_ENTITY_ID = ?))
AND (t1.SUBG_REPORT = 'Y')) AND ((t4.REF_ENTITY_ID = t1.REF_ENTITY_ID)
AND ((t1.SOL_ID = t2.SOL_ID) AND ((t2.APP_ID = t3.GMS_APP_ID)
AND (t3.AWARD_ID = t0.AWARD_ID)))))
I have to provide my own ValueReadQuery to get the correct count in the above case. Are there any rules for determining when we have to explicitly provide our own count query?
cheers
p.s: Toplink version 9.0.3.4Abe,
This sounds like a bug. I assume you are using a ReportQuery to generate the initial SQL. You should only have to provide a ValueReadQuery to a cursored query when using SQL, stored-procedure, or to optimize what is being generated.
This looks like the group-by on your ReportQuery is being ignored on the size query. The best plan is to submit this to support with the TopLink code used and the information provided in this post.
In the mean time the work-around of providing your own query is probably the best solution.

Hai ,
I am having doubt regarding NOT EXISTS sql query,
I want to select rows from table1 where column2 < column3 and column1 value should not exists in another two tables.
When i tried with NOT IN clause i got the answer but i didnt get when i tried with NOT EXISTS.....can anyone give me the answer....
select * from TABLE1 where mark2< mark3 AND
name NOT IN (select name from TABLE2 UNION
select name from TABLE3);Your query can be re-written in the following way by using not exists clause:
SELECT *
FROM table1 t1
WHERE mark2 < mark3
AND NOT EXISTS (
SELECT 1
FROM table2
WHERE name = t1.name)
AND NOT EXISTS (
SELECT 1
FROM table3
WHERE name = t1.name)Go through http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:442029737684
on when to use NOT IN and NOT EXISTS.
Hope this is helpful.

Updating, Adding, or Deleting rows from a query
So, I've got this page that originally was made of four
different forms. It worked great. But, then the client asked that I
"idiot proof" the page.
Originally, I had a form that enclosed a one-line table (with
Add & Clear buttons on the end) that took seven fields and
"added" a new record to the "tbljob" table.
That was followed with another form that created a table from
the results of a cfquery and listed all the rows from tbljob (with
Update/Delete buttons on the end of each row).
This worked fine when it was two separate forms. Now, I'm
trying to use only one "form" while displaying the two tables. The
buttons are now done with Javascript (so there are dialog boxes).
The problem is that I am getting a CF error message because the
insert, update, and delete commands are trying to pass the contents
of the fields as comma-delimited lists rather than the single data
item that is actually in each field. I am passing a hidden field
with each row that contains the "job_id".
I know the problem is that I'm not identifying each row as
being unique. I guess it's like I'm passing an "array" of data
rather than just a "row".
Basically, I just want to be able to display a blank row for
adding records followed by multiple rows from a query. The blank
row needs to have "Add" and "Cancel" buttons at the end and the
multi-row part has to have "Update" and "Delete" buttons on the end
of each row and manage the appropriate records.
It's got me stumped. TIA.What you can do is try using <cfloop> to insert, update
and delete your information.
For instance deleting the information try this.
<!---- Delete Jobs---->
<cfloop index="JobIDs" list="#Job_ID#" delimiters=",">
<cfquery name="delteall" datasource="dbsource">
DELETE
FROM table
Where job_Id = #JobIDs#
</cfquery>
</cfloop>
Do the same for your inserting and updating.
Because what CF see is job_id = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
SO you are looping over a list = #job_id# and delimiter is "
, " and we are calling the index JobIDs. JobIDs are the values - 1
2 3 4 5 6 ....
I hope this helps. As for the displaying of the images, use
if then statements:
<cfif isdefined("edittable") and edittable eq '"y">
Then display the query and outputs for the editing options
<cfelseif isdefined("deletetable") and addtable eq "y">
The dispaly the query and outputs for adding options
<cfelse>
Then display the query for outputing the delete options
</cfif>
So your link will have soemthing of this sort <a
href="samepage.cfm?deletetable=y">Add Table</a>
Hope this helps,

We are using the formula replacing with characteristic.The characteristic value needs to be display as number with out commas.
Regards
Venkat.Do you want to remove the commas when you run the query on Bex Web or in RSRT?

VMM 2012R2 UR4 - Version 3.2.7768.0
Not sure when this started happening since I haven't had to update or create a new RunAs account in VMM in some time, but every time I do, either through the console or through PowerShell it throws an error about The specified directory service attribute
or value does not exist. The VMM Service account is the same as it always has been, and other than this issue everything with VMM is working fine. The full text of the error message is below.
I am hoping someone has some ideas because I don't have any more at this point.

I have problem of population look-up values based on look-up query
I am giving the details what i am trying
I need to populate the values from the UD_LDAP_USR table into the field of UD_USRGRPC_NisNetTriple of type lookup
i planned to set the properties of lookup as like this
look up query as select UD_LDAP_USR_COMMON_NAME as NisNetTriple from UD_LDAP_USR
ColumnNames as UD_LDAP_USR_COMMON_NAME

Column width as 30
Lookup Column Name as UD_LDAP_USR_COMMON_NAME
But when i try to add ColumnName as wht i mentioned above i m getting invalid property exception,update failed
