Address Labels generated through a list merge

I have been generating labels through a list merge using my address book groups. I am able to set up the template, however once I merge the labels using the print option, I am unable to edit them (I can only edit the template I created). Is there any way to edit the merged labels?

Many Printers have the Software that allows you to choose each one in your address book but the key is the Peal off Sticker labels that you need to print to. You need to search and see if your printer software has this option. Microsoft's Office has this option. There is also a FREE Software that is.
http://www.openoffice.org
I am sure that this software has the option but remember it is the paper with the peal of stickers that is the key.
Open Office is an Open Source Software that is the Equivalent to Microsoft's Office Suite.

  • Address Labels and Merge?

Is there a way to produce address labels and do a Mail Merge from a database with pages? I have Filemaker 9, and would like to do a mail merge to customize letters. I know that I can make address labels from Filemaker, but I would like to know if I can do it with Pages too.

    Kevin,
The short answer is no. This question comes up frequently. Pages will do a merge of a single address, and that's it, but it won't fill a page with addresses -- if that's what you're looking for. There are many programs that will do what you want, one of which is Mail Factory. Nice program, too.

  • What is the best app for address labels and mail merge?

What is the best app for address labels, mail merge and keeping track of customers information?

Whilst this will work, it's intended for merging information (e.g. producing personally-addressed letters to a list of people).
If you simply want address labels, open Contacts and then choose which contacts you want (either a group or hold down Cmd and click on those you want - if they're together, click on the first and use Shift when you click on the last). No need to select any if you want all.
Then press Cmd-P and click on Show Details (at the bottom). Choose Labels (at the right hand side) and choose the size labels you have. You can even adjust the font and colour if you wish.

  • Text is not being displayed in sync on a label when looping through a list -- how to fix?

I have a list of states (50 states).  I loop through this list (in a winform app -- VS2012) and want to display the current state ID that is being processed in the loop in the text property of a label.  I precede the label.Text = StateID line with
Application.DoEvents() but I am also (in Debug mode) writing the same text to the console.  The console displays correctly, but there appears to be a lag in the label.Text property
    List<string> StateList = new List<string> { "al", "ak", "az","ar","ca","co","ct","de","fl","ga",...};
    foreach (string stateID in StateList)
        Application.DoEvents();
        lblStateID.Text = "State is " + stateID;  //--there is a lag here
I vaguely recollect something about a NotifyPropertyChanged event.  I know this is common in WPF, but is there something similar in winform?  Or is there a way to make the desired text to be displayed in the label.Text property in synchronization
    with the loop?

Thank you.  This is way simpler than implementing the INotifyPropertyChanged Interface.  Although, here is an article on the INotifyPropertyChanged Interface and event

    Hi Friends,
Can we get a list of materials for those planning file entry is generated through background job using t-code MDAB.
Right now we can find the count of material only ...

    Hi ,
    Thanks for looking into this.
In MDRE  we can only get this message :
Number of set planning file entries :  _____
And in table DBVM we can get the complete list of material irrespective of fact that Planning file entry is earlier maintained or not.
I only want to find the material list whose entry is not there but maintained by the batch job.

  • I need help entering ALL of my addresses for Christmas card address labels on my new iMac.  Whats the best way to do this?

Anyone have any tips how to get started with address labels?  I went to my address book, but it looks so time intensive.  Can I mail merge addresses I put into a excell spread sheet to print labels??

Don't waste your time with formatting in any of those programs - creating two pages for cards, blah blah blah.
The best way to mail merge on a mac is using address book.
People think merging got harder, but apple made it easier - more intuitive. You don't merge mailing labels through a word processor - you do it through the program which houses the addresses.  If the addresses aren't in address book yet, that's a snap.
First, go to your program/file with the addresses (pages, numbers, excel, etc.). I think it's easiest to use numbers.
make sure the column headings are set to Mac Address Book Standard Names - that way you won't have to spend too much time mapping them in address book. (if you're not sure what those are - open address book and just a view a card/record, or open pages or numbers and search in the help menu for the term "merge field names" and it will give you a list. They're pretty simple - things like "First Name" "Last Name" "Street Address" etc.
For christmas cards, I add an extra column under the heading "Note" and input "Christmas Card List" for every record.
Once your data is formatted with the correct column names, export the list to a csv file.
Open Address book in mac and import the list - make sure the columns match up with the correct fields.
It might ask if you want to overwrite or update - that's up to you.
If you know your christmas card list has the most recent address info, hit update.
Once the import is done it should take you to the front page for the address book in which you'll be given the choice to view Icloud addresses (if you sync those) and also the Last import. Any groups or smart groups you have will show up in the list too.
Click on Last import - make sure all the addresses and names you just imported are there. If not, something went wrong - go back and check your import field mapping. If all's good, keep rollin'. (it helps to scroll to the bottom of the import list to get the count of imported records)
Here, you can do one of two things - create a group or a smart group.
For a regular group - Highlight all the records on the right panel in your last import, then go to file > new group from selection. Rename your group christmas cards or something like that.
I prefer to create smart groups.
For that, goto file > new smart group. You'll come to a filter window. Click on the first drop down box and scroll to "Note." Then in the second drop down box choose "is" and in the third and final input box on the right, enter the text from the note column you created in the address list file. I used "Christmas Card List".
That will create a smart group, such that any time you enter a new address or contact in the address book with the note field that equals "christmas Card list" it will automatically be entered into this group.
Either way, you're only one step away from labels.
With that Christmas Card List selected in address book, go to print. When the print dialogue box opens, make sure to click on the button for show details toward the bottom left. That will open up your choices for style.
Under "Style" click on mailing labels.
Under "Layout" choose your label layout (i use avery 5160). It will show you a picture of the label and you can tell if it's the right one.  You'll also notice the labels are being merged correctly, with one address per label, rather than one name for the entire page - like if you try to do this through pages.
    Print away.
    Hope that helps.

  • Address Label Printing Problem

How can I create address labels for printing using Palm Desktop by Access Version 6.2.2?
I recently changed to Palm Desktop by Access Version 6.2.2 and can no longer print mailing labels as I could using an older Palm Desktop version (4.1.? I believe).  I previously used Solution ID: 33579, Printing address labels from your Palm device's Contacts (mail merge), but now when I right-click on a highlighted list of records in Desktop 6.2.2, the option "Send to..." does not appear, so I cannot proceed to an Excel spreadsheet as I previously did.
Post relates to: Treo 650 (Verizon)

This is another of several features that Access decided wasn't necessary in Palm Desktop 6.2.2....
Why did you change to 6.2.2?  It was designed for Vista users.

  • Contacts - print address labels for a family instead of several individuals - i.e. "Smith Family" instead of Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith

    Greetings
I'm trying to print out address labels for Christmas cards. Is there a way to print out one for an entire family instead of everyone separately as individuals? For instance, I have a separate entry for Mr. John Smith and Mrs. Jane Smith. I'd like to print out one label that is for "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith" or "Smith Family."
Is there a way to do this? I suppose I could just do a company that is "Smith Family", but I'm trying to avoid that if possible.
    Thanks!
    John

I think you may want to export your contact list to Excel (or Google docs) or another format where you can edit the list (remove names, change fields, etc.).
Once you have a clean list that has all the names in a clean format that you want to print onto the labels then you import that spreadsheet or document into a program that has label making abilities and a mail merge feature.
What type of labels are you using?
There are several label programs out there that have mail merge capabilities and labeling support.  I am happy to provide some recommendations once I understand your needs.

  • How do I find templates for a return address labels?

Two day and hours of searching I'm stumpt. Any that I find online like from Avery products won't work. I can find all kinds of things.
But, where can I find return address templates? Can't find anything in Appleworks either. Trying to make Christmas return address lables with address & images.
    Anyone????

    Hi Mike,
Your labels will be equivalent in size to AVERY 5267, which is in the list of Avery numbers in the database's label size set.
The biggest difficulty using these labels is that with 20 rows of labels, any error in the vertical size of the label layout will be magnified by 19 when it comes to positioning the last row.
As you want all labels the same, DON'T use the Labels Assistant.
=====Start by creating a new DB document and creating 80 records=====
Create a new single field DB document.
Create 80 records in the DB
(These don't need to contain any data. The fastest way to create them is:
    Open a new Spreadsheet document.
Select cells A1..A79. Type a character, then press command-D to fill the character into all of the cells.
    Copy (command-C)
Go to the window menu and choose the DB document.
Click to the left of the single field label to select the whole record. Make sure the record is highlighted; you should NOT see the insertion point in the field.
    Paste (command-V)
79 new records should be added to your DB, for a total of 80.
    ======Define a Layout for your labels============
    Go Layout > Layout
    Go Layout > New Layout...
    Click Labels
Use the popup list to set the size to Avery 5267
(The Layout name will change from "Layout 2" to "Avery 5267".)
Click OK to move to the next dialogue.
Doubleclick the single field name in the Field list to move it to the Field Order list, then click OK
You'll see the layout window with two grey lines on it, one vertical and one horizontal.
The short vertical line is the right boundary of one label. Its position is set when you define the label size, and can't be moved.
The long horizontal line (labeled "Body") is the bottom boundary of one label. Its position is also set when you define the label size, BUT its position is NOT fixed. The position of this line controls how much vertical space is taken by each label—move the line down a sixteenth of an inch and eight 4-label sets of printed data will take nine rows of labels on a sheet of half inch labels.
The line can be moved inadvertently by dragging it up or down, or by inserting more fields into the label than there is space for. Be very careful NOT to move this line. If it is moved, it's easier (ie. far less hassel) to start over that to nudge it back into the exact position needed.
In the layout, click on the Field to select it, then press delete to remove it from the layout.
======Align the layout with the label stock========
It's easier to do this before putting the information onto the labels.
Go AppleWorks > Preferences > General... Graphics
Click the Object Selection button with eight handles (the lower one), then click OK.
Click to select the Oval tool in the Tools, then use the Color Palette to choose black as the Fill colour.
In the large space below the Body line, make a circle whose diameter is the distance between two dots on the grid. (If Autogrid is turned on, the circle will jump to this size when you drag the mouse.)
Press command-D to duplicate the circle.
Use the Arrow keys to position the center of one circle at the top left corner of the label.
Click on the other circle, then use the arrow keys to position its center at the lower left corner of the label. You may have to turn Autogrid off (command-Y) to do the final bit of horizontal nudging for this one).
    NOTEs:
Only the bottom right quarter of the first circle will be visible. The top and left edges of the window should pass through the centers of the handles at the right side and bottom of the circle.
The Body line should pass through the center of the middle handles on both sides of the circle. The vertical boundary should pass through the center handle at the top of the circle.
When the two circles are in place, go Layout > Browse to return to Browse mode, then go Window > Page view.
You should see a set of quarter circles running down the left edge of the window, three columns of paired quarter circles, and a column of quarter circles at the right edge of the page.
Print a test sheet on plain paper, place a label sheet on top of that page, and hold the combination up to a light. You should be able to place the 'point' of each quarter circle at the top left corner of one of the labels on the sheet, but you may find that the edges of the paper and the label sheet do not line up when you do so.
If that's the case, examine the size of the mismatch between paper and label sheet, and adjust as follows:
To shift all the labels on the page you'll need to adjust the top and laft margins of the Document.
    Go Format > Document...
Increase the top margin to push the labels further down the page.
Increase the Left margin to push the labels further to the right.
Bottom and Right margins my both be set to 0. This will result in a warning when you print, but it makes the adjustment process esier, and the warning may be ignored.
Repeat the check-adjust-print-check cycle until you're satisfied with the results.
=====Add the info to the layout======
When you have the labels aligned to your satisfacton, SAVE the DB document, then go Layout > Layout to return to layout mode.
Press command-A to select all (the two circles), then press Delete to remove them from the layout.
    Select the Text tool ("A").
In the space below the body line (and far enough from it to avoid accidently moving it) drag a text frame slightly less wide than the label.
Type in your address information, and format it as you see fit.
Click the Selection tool (Arrow) to select the text frame, then use the arrow keys to move it into position on the layout. (Turn Autogrid on for faster movement; off for finer control.)
If the text box will not fit into the vertical space, Go Format > Size > and choose a smaller size for your text.
Print a test sheet (plain paper). If necessary, adjust the position of the text by selecting the frame (Use command-A) then moving it with the arrow keys.
    Regards,
    Barry
PS: Why use the arrow keys?
You're working close to the (moveable) Body boundary a lot of the time. A slip of the mouse can make it necessary to trash everyhing done up to that point. To avoid that, avoid any use of the mouse that's close to that boundary.

  • How can we default a Purchase Organisation in the PR generated through MRP

    Hi,
How can we default a Purchase Organisation in the PR generated through MRP
(This is a Auto generated PR when the MRP Run is taken)
We take a MRP Run for CBP. After the MRP Run system Auto generates a PR. But this PR does not have the P.organisation mentioned in it. It has to be done manually.
How can we Default the P.Organiastion in the PR.
    NS

The Purchasing Organization is only filled in the Purchase Requisition
when a source is assigned because it represents a source of supply.
Please also refer to attached note 206684 for more information.
When executing a MRP-run, it is checked first if there exists a quota
arrangement, the source list is read after it and the purchasing
organization is taken from the source list. But before filling
the relevant field in the purchase requisition (EBAN-EKORG), the
system checks if there exists a record in the source list which is
RELEVANT TO MRP, which means that the parameter 'MRP' has to be set to
    '1'.
So please ensure that MRP = 1 in ME01 for the existing records and start
the next planning run with planning mode = 3 and check the results.

  • A report layout  for address labels using Word's label-table

    Hello,
I sent the following question to the BIPublisher forum, but didn't get any answers. Maybe it wasn't the right forum. I'm a little desperate with this problem, because I have spent days trying to solve this. Could somebody please help with this ? :
I'm not familiar with BI Publisher, but I should only do one thing with it, which seems rather easy. I need a rtf layout to be used in APEX to create an address label PDF-report. I tried using mail merge to create an empty table for the labels and added XSL (I suppose ?) element <?for-each:ROW?> in the first cell to loop over each ROW (which contains an address) in XML file. The problem is that I haven't found a way this would put the next row (address) to the next cell (filling first all the cells of the first row and so on). The previous loop only places one address in each table row. I read about for-each@column element in another thread, could it be used here ?
The rtf layout is created in Word with BIPublisher's template builder for Word.
I have for example tried placing XSL or FO elements inside the loop or marks that would call Word's own NextCell routine but haven't found anything.

    Hi Tony,
    Thank you for your answer.
I'm not sure, if I understood this correctly:
You could fake out the number of lines, such that the layout will always have 4 or 5 lines of output, even if one line is blank, it will print out properly..
Do you mean that the layout should have for example 4 cells ?
    and...
If you build the select to give you a space filled column where no data is present, and ship that to bi publisher, it should work..
Do you mean that the report query in APEX should have an extra column ?
    Could you please explain ?

  • How to print avery address labels 5160

Sorry but I am not finding the right steps after reading several pieces of advice on this,
and am wondering if this is all different after upgrading to Lion.  I know I simply printed
labels at the holidays, but the types of Avery templates no longer shows up under
address labels on the print "layout" choices.  I do now have Pages, but they don't have
a mailing label option (why???) and I can no longer use Microsoft Word since upgrading
to Lion. Help! Can someone put this in really simple steps for me please?

Pages v5 does not play nice with current Avery label templates in Word format. Pages v5 does not natively perform mail merge without adapting a third-party AppleScript solution.
Labelist 8 is in the OS X App Store for USD $20. It is comprehensive, label software. Download button on their site gives you a free, full functional, 30-day trial. Recommend you consider Labelist over any Pages v5 kludge. Your time has a value.

  • Wonky Address Labels ?

I am about to give up the idea of ever finding a native Mac OS application for addresses and just keep using the 10-year old Parsons Address Book Windows software that I currently run using Virtual PC. It may be clunky and it may be creaky but, by golly, I can almost always get it to do what I want. And I can’t say the same about Apple’s Address Book … or about any other Mac address book that I have found.
I have been trying to use Apple’s Address Book to print a decent address label for a week … off and on. And I have not been able to get the software to behave. All I want to do is to print spouses in a reasonable form; say “John and Mary Smith”, when they share the same surname or “John Smith and Mary Jones” if they do not. I would also like to be able to include their children … preferably on a second line, but on the same line as the parents, if necessary.
Apple’s Address Book seems to have a mind of it’s own; it prints pretty much whatever it wants on an address label. Sometimes spouses print correctly, sometimes not. One time it printed the father correctly but skipped the spouse and two children, while printing the third child as though she were the spouse. It even has tried to give me “John Smith and _______“ as an address label for an unmarried person.
I visited this forum several times and reviewed recent messages with similar topics. One related suggestion was to use Easy Envelopes at:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/27679
This looks good for the primary person, but evidently will not help get the spouse or children on the label. Another suggestion was to ‘type’ both names (John and Mary) into the first name field for the primary person. This would work, but also does not handle children. Anyway, I am not about to do this for the 250 or so married persons in my database where all these entries have separate names for the spouses (not separate cards, but completed spouse fields).
So I decided to export the database, put it in Excel, and do some column merging to get a one-time solution to my label-printing problem. That didn’t work, either, but I will post my exporting problem in a separate message.
After all this, I searched, once again, for a Mac OS address book program. There are several out there, but none allow custom address labels or have reasonable import/export features.
Any suggestions for customizing and printing labels with Apple Address Book would be welcome.
I suppose I can continue to use my old Windows stuff on Virtual PC … even though opening VPC just to get to address book software seems like a bother …
C’mon, Apple. Fix your Address Book turkey!!

Yes, it's possible to create address labels in Pages from date in Numbers. A bit tedious though, because you will only get one Numbers record (row) per Pages page. To make a full sheet of address labels you would need to arrange your Numbers table to have multiple addresses per row in your table, as many as there are labels on your printed sheet. Then you have to create all the links.
My preference would be to print the labels from Numbers directly, by creating a table in the arrangement and size of your label sheet and programming it to reference the database that resides in another sheet and table in the same document.
The official solution is to import your address data into Address Book from Numbers and print the labels from Address Book. If I were to do this, I think I would make a new user account so that I could have an Address Book dedicated to this project.

  • How do you make address labels in Lion?

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to make address labels or envelope labels from my address book?  I have done this before, but I recently upgraded my macbook pro to Lion, and now I can't figure it out!  I spent hours yesterday trying everything I could think of, but no luck.  I have tried using Pages, but still nothing!  Can anyone help me?

Did you have an address list defined in your address book last year? If so, you should be able to access it in the new Address Book by clicking on "View" and "Groups" and then (hopefully) your previous list will be there. If it is, just select it and then go to Print. Under "Style" choose "Mailing Labels." Select Layout on the tab next to Labels, and then select the type of labels; then click Labels. Choose from the drop-down menu on the order --I think the default is postal code order. Choose whether or not to print the country. This should work!
If you did not have a Group defined previously, you can go to File and New Group to create one.
