ADF 10.1.3.3 - Sandbox - Tomahawk

Hi,
My applications are working now with ADF and Tomahawk, but I want to add Sandbox. Could anyone integrate these three technologies? I integrate but when I use tableSuggestAjax, the suggestedItemsMethod is not invoked. Please send me the web.xml if anyone could do that.
Regards,

Jose --
There's a bit more to it than that. I was able to get this to work. One of the issues is ADF Faces uses the oracle.adf.core render kit, tomahawk and sandbox components just use HTML_BASIC. A dynamic render kit switcher depending on url can take care of this part. The other part is to get the ajax components to work. That requires something that will switch out the state manager on the fly. Same idea.
This will allow you to have ADF pages, say with one extension, and tomahawk and sandbox pages with another extension.
Hope this helps.

  • Problems with combination of ADF Faces, Tomahawk, Facelets and MyFaces

    Hello,
    I am trying to combine all things named in the Subject and run into several problems:
    1. ADF Render Kit forces the Tomahawk Components to be rendered in a wrong way or stop there functionality.
    Example 1: The clickable parts of the t:dataScroller Tag can not be accessed because an empty a Tag will be rendered after the outputText.
    Example 2: The t:commandSortHeader Tag can be clicked but the table content will not be sorted anymore.
    The given examples works if i remove the default-render-kit-id element from the faces-config.xml
    2. The ad:table Tag runs into an ClassCastException, only when I put a simple example code snipped into my xhtml file.
    Code snipped:
    <af:table>
    <af:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <af:outputText value="Firstname"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    <af:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="Lastname"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    </af:table>
    The stack trace look like this:

    I followed all steps for the ADF installation and the suggested steps for using ADF with Facelets.
    Used versions:
    - Oracle ADF Faces 10.1.3 Early Access
    - myFaces 1.1.1
    - Facelets 1.1.1
    - oc4j 10.1.2.0.2
    Has somebody try to use these things together, too?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Inside our fusion applications(ADF/Webcenter) using combination of JSTL and ADF Faces is good practice or pitfal?
    To suggest a a rule of thumb: Try ADF Faces on-board functionality first before reaching out to JSTL. The difference between JSF in general and JSTL is that the JSTL expressions are evaluated at page compile time wheras JSF expressions are evaluated deferred. This difference may have an impact to PPR refreshes and the data rendering (which in many cases I assume you can fix by setting the ADF Faces component content delivery to immediate instead of deferred). On a training slight I flagged JSTL with a "heads up" alert because of this

  • Tomahawk and ADF bindings conflict

    Hi, I use Tomahawk components <t:dataTable> and <t:dataScroller> to handle table with large number of rows (I learned from http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/WorkingWithLargeTables)
    The problem is that after I added ADF bindings to call EJB session bean methods, six navigation image buttons (first, last, previous, next, ff, fr) have been disabled. It seems that ADF does something to disable JavaScript code which activates these buttons (I noticed some changes have been made in faces-config.xml and web.xml). It took me 6 hours to find bugs but I've reached nowhere. :) Pls help me.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Frank, I have a method:
    public List <SimpleCar> searchCar(int start, int rows);
    in a session facade bean called CarFacadeBean.
    And the following is the Page Definition.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <pageDefinition xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel"
    version="10.1.3.40.66" id="carsDataModelPageDef" Package="view.pageDefs">
    <parameters/>
    <executables>
    <variableIterator id="variables"/>
    </executables>
    <bindings>
    <methodAction id="searchCar" InstanceName="CarFacadeLocal.dataProvider"
    DataControl="CarFacadeLocal" MethodName="searchCar"
    RequiresUpdateModel="true" Action="999"
    IsViewObjectMethod="false"
    ReturnName="CarFacadeLocal.methodResults.CarFacadeLocal_dataProvider_searchCar_result">
    <NamedData NDName="start" NDType="int" NDValue="15"/>
    <NamedData NDName="rows" NDType="int" NDValue="15"/>
    </methodAction>
    </bindings>
    </pageDefinition>
    Then in backed beans, I put:
    BindingContainer bindings = this.getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding = (OperationBinding) bindings.getOperationBinding("searchCar");
    List <SimpleCar> cars = (List<SimpleCar>) operationBinding.execute();
    to get the result set from EJB method (searchCar(start, rows)).
    These are all basic things, I believe. The problem occurs only after I dragged the method searchCar from Data Control Pallete to the page (there is only one page in this testing view). May I upload the code to somewhere so that you can take a further look?

    Harry.

  • Deployment of the ADF customizations to sandbox, using mar profile.

    Hi,
    We are working on ADF customization, we have done some customization, which we want to test.
    Now issue is we dont have direct connectivity to the instance, but we have em/console access, can you please let us know if we can deploy the mar file using em console to sandbox.
    we dont want to disturb the whole application, until we test our application in sandbox.
    Thanks
    Vipin

    Hi Vipin
    I think this same question is open in another thread your have. As mentioned the support for doing an import of
    a customization into an environment depends on what kind of Cloud support you have, I believe.
    Please contact the cloud hosting support team who should be able to confirm what services in this area they can offer.
    Sorry I can't be of more help.
    Kind regards

  • MyFaces not rendering, ADF faces IS rendering

    I'm installing my app on the websphere application server, Version 6.1 After having issues of both adf and myfaces not working, I came accross this link which helped me somewhat. http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/Websphere_Installation .
    By "not working" I mean that my jsp would have <h:commandLink>'s and <af:commandButton/> however the html was never actually generated. (You could view the pages source and the resulting html page was blank).
    After following those instructions, ADF components are correctly rendered, and the html works. However, I can not use any <h:> or <h:> components.
    Keep in mind, every single part of this used to work while using Tomcat (I think it was 5.5, not 6).

  • ADF integration with Facebook Login

    Hi,
    just wanted to share a working example of Facebook Login integration in an ADF application, that only uses default ADF Faces tags. Here is how the JSF can look like:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

             if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;}
             js = d.createElement('script'); js.id = id; js.async = true;
             js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js";
             ref.parentNode.insertBefore(js, ref);
        }(document));
        // Here we run a very simple test of the Graph API after login is successful.
        // This testAPI() function is only called in those cases.
        function testAPI() {
            console.log('Welcome!  Fetching your information.... ');
            FB.api('/me', function(response) {
              console.log('Good to see you, ' + response.name + '.');
              console.log('Response: ' + response);
    </af:resource>
            </f:facet>
        </af:document>
    </f:view>
    Note that you must have created a Facebook App on Facebook.com which provides the AppId number and set the App in "Sandbox"  mode.
    The jsf works in JDeveloper 11.1.2.4 and Glassfish 3.1.2 and ADF Essentials 11.1.2.4

    When using a web service proxy, you need to pass the data as an object, which' structure is defined in the web service proxy wrapper classes.
    When you've defined a data control for your bpel process, you can just drag and drop the 'initiate'/'execute', your operation and bind this to the update-button.
    When working with the proxy client, you need to populate your java class objects with the employee-object, this can be done in a backing bean or managed bean in your adf faces application.
    For more information you can always have a look at my blog where I've provided an explanation about the different possibilities of interfacing adf with SOA.
    Kind regards,

  • Getting error while importing Sandbox - OIM 11g R2

    Hi,
    I am getting the below error when I am trying to import any Sandbox :
    Import Sandbox Failed
    oracle.mds.exception.MDSRuntimeException: MDS-01163: invalid reference "/mdssys/sandbox/active_mdsSandboxMetadata.xml" MDS-01163: invalid reference "/mdssys/sandbox/active_mdsSandboxMetadata.xml"
         Information
         Please select sandbox archive to import.
    If the sandbox archive contains sandbox with the same name existing archive will be overwritten.
    Please help.

    I tried the both of the aproaches of deactivating the sandbox and also by publishing the sandbox before importing a sandbox but no success.
    I am getting the same error again.
    The issue is that I have created a custom UDF which is not visible on all the Create, Modify and User Details page but when I am adding any value to this UDF while creating or modifying the user, the value is not getting saved in the database ( USR table).
    I thought this could be the issue because of valueChangeListener property which was not set while creating the property, so I exported the sandbox and added the property in the userCreateForm.jsff file and repack the folder and tried to import the same but I am not able to import the sandbox.
    Below is the userCreateForm.jsff file which I changed :
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <mds:customization version="11.1.1.61.92" xmlns:mds="http://xmlns.oracle.com/mds" motype_local_name="root" motype_nsuri="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page">

    </af:inputText>
    </mds:insert>
    </mds:customization>
    Please help.

  • Java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError with ADF and Websphere

    I'm trying to get an app running with ADF/Tomahawk/MyFaces/Facelets going on Websphere 6.0. However Websphere is running with a 1.4.2 JVM instead of 1.5 so I get an error when it comes to the ADF NavigationHandlerImpl which has been built with Java 1.5. Is there a Java 1.4 version of ADF faces I should have downloaded somewhere?
    Hints appreciated.

    Hi,
    you will have to compile the application with JDK 1.4 in this case. This should work for JSF and ADF Faces.

  • Can not enable SandBox on mi Webcenter application

    Greetings
    i have developed a webcenter application ...and i have tried to enable sandbox in order to show a save button on my composer panel in edit mode...and a pop-up message to save changes if i close before clicking the save button.
    In the adf-config.xml file, i add the following lines:

    thanks for your help

    I think below steps are required too.
    Open the adf-config.xml file located in the ADF META-INF folder under Descriptors in the Application Resources panel.
    Under the <metadata-namespaces> element, ensure that <namespace> elements are defined for all metadata for which you want to enable sandbox creation, as shown in Example 22-1.
    Example 22-1 Namespace Definitions in the adf-config.xml File
    <!-- Your jspx customizations alone go here -->
    <namespace path="/pages" metadata-store-usage="WebCenterFileMetadataStore">
    <namespace-restriction type="CUSTOMIZATIONS"/>
    </namespace>
    <!-- Your pagedef customizations alone go here -->
    <namespace path="/pageDefs" metadata-store-usage="WebCenterFileMetadataStore">
    <namespace-restriction type="CUSTOMIZATIONS"/>
    </namespace>

  • ADF Faces & BC 10.1.3.4: Barcode Printing & ADF version of WebUtil?

    Hi all,
    Our existing application is built with Oracle Forms/Reports 9i which also uses Oracle WebUtil 10g because we need to print bar code labels. Our oracle forms appilcation invokes "Host" commands which allows it to print directly to the server's printer ports, this is accomplished by invoking WebUtil functionality which somehow bypasses(probably not the correct term to use) the jvm security sandbox. We need to have a similar barcode printing functionality on our ADF Faces/BC application however I'm not aware of the existence of "ADF WebUtil" which can be configured to allow access to printer ports.
    Here is some code snipets for the 9i Forms application for printing (which is done through Internet Explore Browser)
    CLIENT_TEXT_IO.PUT_LINE(myPrinter, output_str);
    If lineType = 'B' Then vertStartTemp := vertStartTemp + vertBStep;
    Else vertStartTemp := vertStartTemp + vertAStep;
    End If;
    End Loop;
    /* last line */
    output_str := 'P1'||chr(13)||chr(10);
    CLIENT_TEXT_IO.PUT_LINE(myPrinter, output_str);
    CLIENT_TEXT_IO.FCLOSE(myPrinter);
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    CLIENT_TEXT_IO.FCLOSE(myPrinter);
    message(sqlerrm );
    Raise Form_Trigger_Failure;
    END;
    Here is some java code which uses the awt library (only works locally due to jvm secuirty sandbox)
    public void testZebraBarCode(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
    //called from a commandButton action listner. will fail upon deployment to server because its trying to access native resouces.
    try {
    PrintService psZebra = null;
    PrinterJob printJob = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob();
    if (printJob.printDialog()) {
    psZebra = printJob.getPrintService();
    DocPrintJob job = psZebra.createPrintJob();
    String s =
    // Set Reference Point
    // Clear Image Buffer
    // Print direction (from Bottom of buffer)
    // Set label Length and gap
    "R0,0\n" + "N\n" + "ZB\n" + "Q122,16\n" +
    "A160,2,0,3,1,1,N,\"DATA: CARUGATE\"\n" +
    "B160,30,0,1A,2,7,50,N,\"612041600021580109\"\n" +
    "A160,92,0,1,1,1,N,\"AIA AGRICOLA IT.ALIMENT.S - 594679/VR\"\n" +
    "P1\n";
    byte[] by = s.getBytes();
    DocFlavor flavor = DocFlavor.BYTE_ARRAY.AUTOSENSE;
    // MIME type = "application/octet-stream",
    // print data representation class name = "[B" (byte array).
                Doc doc = new SimpleDoc(by, flavor, null);
                job.print(doc, null);
            } catch (PrintException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    Can anyone point me to the proper direction on how to accomplish this task?
    Thanks,
    Wes

  • ADF Faces + hardware device in the client side.( adf swing  or adf java fx)

    We are using adf+swing in desktop app.
    We like ADF Faces but we need interations with Hardware device in the client side: scan reader, web cam, bar code reader, finger prints reader …
    How to do that’s in the adf faces web environment ( what about with sandbox security) how to obtain in the adf faces web page in the client side de video streams.
    In the future adf will be use Java FX?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    see sample 71 http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/index-101235.html#CodeCornerSamples
    You can use ActiveX plugins or JavaApplet to access the client system. To reach out of the sandbox, it will require a certificate
    In the future adf will be use Java FX?
    No.

  • T:schedule not defined in tomahawk.tld

    Hi, I have been trying to use the tomahawk schedule component.
    I have faced 2 problems up to now:
    1st... Cant find in a maven repository the adequate tomahawk jar file, so I downloaded it manually and put in the repo.
    2nd... The tld <%@ taglib uri="http://myfaces.apache.org/tomahawk" prefix="t"%> does not have the tag definition to the schedule component.
    Here is my eclipse .classpayh entry: <classpathentry exported="true" kind="var" path="MAVEN_REPO/tomahawk/jars/tomahawk-1.1.4-SNAPSHOT.jar"/>
    What should I do to solve this problem?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    schedule passed from the sandbox project to the tomahawk, and it seems to me that it was not correcty deployed with the 1.4 snapshot...
    i found the tlds for t:schedule under 1.5 snapshot. though it is an unofficial release you can reach it changing at http://people.apache.org/builds/myfaces/nightly/
    inside there are schedule examples and tlds...
    good luck.

  • OIM 11gR2 - custom attribute with illegal binding on Create User form in published sandbox

    Hi,
    I think I have managed to paint myself into a corner!
    In OIM 11gR2 I have added a number of custom attributes to the "User Form" - some Text-, some Lookup-type attributes.
    While customizing the "Create User" page within a sandbox and adding a SelectOneChoice item and fiddling around with its binding, I was distracted by a phone call and the browser timed out.
    The binding property on the new item is now not correct and the sandbox has unfortunately been published, and I am now unable to enter the "Create User" page - when I try, I get the following:

    I will appreciate any help.
    Irina

    It is a runtime problem
    And it also exists in TP4
    Tomahawk 1.1.6 does work with JSF 1.2
    I removed
    <default-render-kit-id>org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.core</default-render-
    kit-id>line from the Faces-config.xml.
    Table scrolling works, but
    other component do not render, for example <dvt:graph>
    Also when ADF is added to the page
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich" prefix="af"%>faces-config.xml is auto changed to
    <default-render-kit-id>oracle.adf.rich</default-render-kit-id>and <dvt:graph> will disappear at runtime.
    Thank you,
    Irina.
