ADF 11g Partial Triggers Row Column Update By Column in the Same Row

Hi.
I have a situation whereby I have a checkbox in a table row, which has an eventchangelistener, which upon activation, trys to update another column in the same row. I can not get this to work through partial triggers, even though I have set up my ids up correctly. The row though can be updated by a command button outside of the table using the same coding techniques, but I need it updated via the checkbox.
Is there a limitation in updating a column within a row, from another row column's event change listener.
Thanks.

Updating the other rows from the checkbox works fine for me. Here is what I did.
I DnD Emp table with a new column that says if the emp is new hire. If the checkbox is checked, I set Firstname and Lastname for that row as NewHire. I have partial triggers on Firstname and Lastname columns to update whenever checkbox is checked/unchecked and autosubmit on checkbox to true. Hope this helps.
Try adding column selection property to single and see if it helps.

  • Is there a way to add a column after a filled DataTable from SQL with the same rows?

    My problem is that not to add rows like filled by SQLDataAdapter at the same row in DataGridView. How to make that? I showed below the details with my code also a screen shot, which shows the rows differences from the origin one.
    I don't want to add an expression as column behave in my sql script to get what I need with query result. I don't want to obtain that way.
    using (SqlConnection c = new SqlConnection(ConnStrMSSQL))
    c.Open();
    // 2
    // Create new DataAdapter
    using (SqlDataAdapter a = new SqlDataAdapter("SELECT SIPNO, SERINO, TARIH FROM SNOHAREKETLER WHERE Cast(TARIH as DATE) BETWEEN '2015/03/20' AND '2015/03/20' AND (TEZNO = 'T23' OR TEZNO = 'T31') AND CIKTI is null", c))
    // 3
    // Use DataAdapter to fill DataTable
    DataTable t = new DataTable();
    a.Fill(t);
    t.Columns.Add("MyColumn", typeof(string));
    DataRow workRow;
    int iGetCount = t.Rows.Count;
    for (int i = 0; i <= iGetCount - 1; i++)
    workRow = t.NewRow();
    workRow["MyColumn"] = i;
    t.Rows.Add(workRow);
    dataGridView1.DataSource = t;

    The extra column isn't applied to only certain rows.  The columns of a table identify what data each row will contain.  Hence adding a column to the table automatically adds them to the rows.  What you're seeing is that all the initial rows
    aren't being assigned a value so they retain their default value of null.  Later you enumerate the rows of the existing table and call AddRow which adds new rows.  This isn't adding columns, but rows.
    To generate values for the existing rows you should ideally simply pass the data back from the database.  DT computed columns can be difficult to set up as it is limited to what it can do.  If you want to use a computed column on the Datatable
    itself then define the column as a computed column and every row will calculate its own value.
    DataTable data = GetData();
    //Add elapsed time column
    var col = new DataColumn("ElapsedTime", typeof(TimeSpan), "expr");
    data.Columns.Add(col);
    dataGridView1.DataSource = data;
    The issue you will run into however is that calculating a diff on DateTime doesn't work in a computed column as the expression doesn't support the necessary functions.  You can google for how people solved this if you are interested in alternatives.
    Most people just tend to add the column and then hook into the various change events to update the value as needed.

  • Radio group in classic report based on another column on the same row.

    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    Application Express 4.1.0.00.32
    How can I have a radio group column based on an LOV utilizing another column on the same row of the report?
    For example: what if I had a survey application and depending on the likert scale that was assigned to the question there would be different possible answer choices:
    Question 1 on row 1 of the report: The class instructor was friendly?
    Likert scale choice is Agreement.
    Choices on Radio Group: Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Strongly Disagree
    Question 2 on row 2 of the report: The class offered good materials?
    Likert scale choice is Quality.
    Choices on Radio Group: Excellent, Below Average, Average, Above Average, Excellent
    The radio group can change per row depending on the Likert scale assigned to the question which is assigned to a different column on the row.
    Can LOV utilize the column? :
    SELECT scale_text
    FROM scale_choices
    WHERE scale_category_choice_id = 2 <<= this would be the Likert scale identifier
    ORDER
    BY display_order

    Here is the answer:
    APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY(
    p_idx IN NUMBER,
    p_value IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL,
    p_query IN VARCHAR2,
    p_attributes IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL,

  • Insert a field and update the same row.

    Hi,
    I am inserting a value in a row.
    And later within a cursor loop I am trying to update the same row. But it is not working....
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure Del_Note_stage
    Is
    v_delNote Delivery_Note.Delivery_Note_id%type;
    Cursor C1 is Select Heading_Name,File_Data from Sqlload_Stage;
    Begin
    dbms_output.put_line('i am here a ');
    Select Delivery_Note_Id_Seq.nextval into v_delNote from dual;
    Insert into DELIVERY_NOTE_STAGING(Delivery_Note_ID,LUT,LUB,PROCESSED) Values(v_delNote,sysdate,'Config','N');
    commit;
    dbms_output.put_line('i am here b'||v_delNote);
    For sqlload_rec in C1
       Loop
        dbms_output.put_line(sqlload_rec.Heading_Name);
        dbms_output.put_line('Del Note Id is :'||v_delNote);
        update DELIVERY_NOTE_STAGING  set deployed_by='TOM' where delivery_note_id=v_delNote;
    End loop;
    End;

    But it is not working....Why not?
    Please read: http://tkyte.blogspot.com/2005/06/how-to-ask-questions.html
    Why are you updating after inserting?
    Just add deployed_by to the insert statement, or use a default value for that column.
    Also you don't need to select your Delivery_Note_Id_Seq.nextval from dual, just use it in your insert statement.
    Something like:
    Insert into DELIVERY_NOTE_STAGING(Delivery_Note_ID,LUT,LUB,PROCESSED,deployed_by )
    Values( Delivery_Note_Id_Seq.nextval,sysdate,'Config','N', 'TOM' /*or USER*/);

  • Updating the same row in different sessions

    Hi,
    I've one table application(appl_no varchar2(10), locked_user varchar2(8)) which is used to track which user is logged in at present.
    As soon as any user is logged in to the system via front end, the user ID is populated to locked_user column so that no other user cannot access the same appl_no. As soon as the user exits from the front end, the locked_user is updated to null.
    We've experiencing a strange behaviour in our system where one user exits from front end and at the same time(previous transaction is not committed) the same user ID opens the same application in another session, but the session session doesn't gets hanged(waiting for the lock to be released) and tries to update the same row which was locked by first user's session. We come to know this thing when the trigger on the table gets fired in both sessoins.
    Now I want to know if there is any locking machanism in Oracle where the same row can be updated in 2 different sessons one after another when the first session has not committed its changes?
    Thanks
    Deepak

    And obviously no two sessions can update the same record at the same time
    Yes I know that and I tried the same thing by myself on 2 different sql sessions which is not happening, but this is happening when the same is being done from front end(Power Builder based application).
    Just wanted to check is there any possibility where this can be possible?
    Thanks

  • UIX: How to display more items in 1 column on the same row

    Hi
    I have a uix table with a couple of columns.
    Now I want to display more elements in 1 column, but on the same row
    E.g.
    article | quantity <> | price
    The quantity column has also to buttons to increase/decrease the quantity. Something like:
    <column>
    <columnFormat displayGrid="true" cellNoWrapFormat="true" columnDataFormat="numberFormat"/>
    <columnHeader>
    <sortableHeader text="Quantity" required="yes"/>
    </columnHeader>
    <contents>
    <messageTextInput id="${ui:concat('PurchaseInvoiceLinesView3:Quantity:',uix.current.tableIndex)}" model="${ui:cond(uix.current.isNewRow,null,uix.current.PurchaseInvoiceLinesQuantity)}" text="${uix.current.PurchaseInvoiceLinesQuantity}" name="Quantity" promptAndAccessKey="Quantity" rows="1" maximumLength="6" columns="8">
    <onSubmitValidater>
    <decimal/>
    </onSubmitValidater>
    </messageTextInput>
    <button text="&lt;" onClick="..."/>
    <button text="&gt;" onClick="..."/>
    </contents>
    </column>
    But both buttons appear on a new line. Resulting in:
    [   1]
    <
    >
    The useSeperateRows attribute is by default false, so that should be ok. Any ideas to get the buttons on the same row?
    Regards.

    Hi,
         If all of your line items are getting displayed in different pages, to my knowledge, there may be two possibilities.
    1) May be the size of the main window can accomodate only one line item. If one item data fills up the window, then there wont' be any space for the next line item data to be accomodated in the same window in the same page, so, the system triggers the next page. Like-wise for each item data. If this is the case, increase the height of the main window to display items in same page.
    2) Check the driver program. Find the Write_form block, which is written inside an item loop. May be there is a Form-control Function module( Control_form with parameter 'NEW-PAGE' ) being called after the write_fom block, within the loop. If this is the case, remove the control_form FM section to make the data display in same page.

  • How can I sum every other column in the same row?

    I have, for each employee, two columns: Planned and Worked.

  • How to place two narrow portlets in the same row of a wide column

    Hi,
    How to place two narrow portlets in the same row of a wide column.
    Im using ALUI 6.1
    Thanks in advance
    sandeep

    As I understand there is no easy way to do it now. I guess in theory that can be done by customizing ALUI page layout source code, but this is significant efforts. Correct me if there is more easy way to do it.

  • Can I sort a column in Numbers without affecting the associate rows?

    I have a schedule with date columns and lists of names. I would like to sort the names alphabetically in each column, but the rows are tied to the column. Is there a way to sort each column without effecting the entire table?

    Thanks, This seems like a serious flaw to me. I want to like Numbers, but keep finding reasons to go back to Excel.
    Why would you put data in different columns of the same row that don't have any relationship to each other? The purpose of a row is to create a record of related data. The Apple guys are sticklers about things like this. If that bothers you, reverting to Excel is your best option.

  • Column Link - how to get back to the same row on previous form

    Using Apex 3.2.1
    I've created a column link on an updateable report which opens up another page for data entry. This is working fine but when you return to the originating page, is there a way to get back to the same row you were on before linking.
    The user enters a number in the AMOUNT field. A validation trigger says they need to enter an EXPLANATION. They link to the EXPLANATION page. But when they return to the first page, they don't know which row they were on AND the value they originally entered in AMOUNT is back to the database value. So is there a way to preserve the AMOUNT value and rowid from the originating page?
    Hope this makes sense and appreciate any and all help!
    Sandie

    Hi Sandie,
    I may not be understanding the requirements completely, but one thing that strikes me off the bat is it sounds like what you need isn't really a "validation" per se. The data the user is entering may be perfectly valid, it's just that in certain circumstances additional information is required. I only mention this because an ApEx validation by definition shouldn't allow changes to be made to the database - but in your case it sounds like the information entered up to that point can be saved (as long as it satisfies actual data validation rules), but then additional information for certain rows is required.
    One thing you might consider is having the Explanation page pop-up in a new window. So user is on tabular form with current row visible - user clicks on explanation link which pops up a new page - user enters explanation and clicks "submit" - pop-up page disappears leaving user right where he/she was.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Get Min value and another column value from the same row

    hi all - for each customer and product, I need to grab the row that has the min value for field Value1. I could've just done group by on customer and product and min on Value1, but I also need to grab Vlaue2 from the same row where the minimum value for
    Value1 lies.
    DECLARE @Temp TABLE (CustomerID INT, ProductID VARCHAR(10), Trans_Date Date, Value1 INT, Value2 INT)
    INSERT INTO @Temp VALUES (123, 'ABC', '1/1/2013', 10, 100)
    INSERT INTO @Temp VALUES (456, 'ASD', '1/1/2013', 40, 500)
    INSERT INTO @Temp VALUES (456, 'ASD', '2/1/2013', 90, 700)
    INSERT INTO @Temp VALUES (123, 'ABC', '2/1/2013', 20, 700)
    SELECT * FROM @Temp
    The output should be
    123, ABC, 10, 100
    456, ASD, 40, 500
    I know that I can just join the table to itself and get the desired output but I am dealing with a table that has millions of rows and I was hoping there is more efficient way to do this. any help would be highly appreciated...

    Here is a correction on your DDL to make it into nearly valid table.
    CREATE TABLE Sales
    (customer_id INTEGER NOT NULL,
    product_id CHAR(10) NOT NULL,
    transaction_date DATE NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (customer_id, product_id, transaction_date),
    value1 INTEGER NOT NULL,
    value2 INTEGER NOT NULL);
    Here is the current syntax for insertion:
    INSERT INTO Sales
    VALUES (123, 'abc', '2013-01-01', 10, 100),
    (456, 'asd', '2013-01-01', 40, 500),
    (456, 'asd', '2013-02-01', 90, 700),
    (123, 'abc', '2013-02-01', 20, 700);
    WITH
    X
    AS
    (SELECT customer_id, product_id, transaction_date, value1, value2,
    MIN(value1) OVER () AS value1_min
    FROM Sales)
    SELECT X.*

  • How to have several records on the same row

    Hello everyone
    I am creating a print only adobe form.
    I would like to print several records from a table on 1 row only.
    Example:
    DeliveryNumber : 12345
        ITEM1
               SerialNumber1   SerialNumber2   SerialNumber3
               SerialNumber5   SerialNumber5   SerialNumber6
       ITEM2
               SerialNumber1   SerialNumber2
    and so on.
    How can we do that in AdobeForm?
    I created a directory structure containing the Delivery number, the Item and a field pointing to a table type containing the serial numbers.
    Actually the AdobeForm is printing 1 serial number per row. We can have several hundred serial number per item, that is taking alot of paper. If I can have 2 or 3 serial number on the same row it will be greate.
    I could create a large field and pour several serial number to it before printing, but because each serial number are barcoded, it won't work. I need to have separate serial number to have it barcoded.
    Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Regards
    dstj

    Hello Shweta
    Thank you for your response, but we already do that technic.
    My question was more related to dynamic column display.
    Depending on specific conditions, the number of column can change.
    So, having fixed column driven by a structure will partially work as far as the number of column will not exceed the number of field in the structure.
    That is exacly that I want to avoid.

  • FillBy always fills in the same row in data grid view. How to make it fill in a new row for each click of the Fillby Button? VB 2010 EXPRESS?

    Hi there,
    I am a beginner in Visual Basic Express 2010. I have a Point of Sale program that uses DataGridView to display records from an external microsoft access
    database using the fillby query.
    It works, but it repopulates the same row each time, but i want to be able to display multiple records at the same time, a new row should be filled for
    each click of the fillby button.
    also I want to be able to delete any records if the customer suddenly decides to not buy an item after it has already been entered.
    so actually 2 questions here:
    1. how to populate a new row for each click of the fillby button
    2. how to delete records from data grid view after an item has been entered
    Thanks
    Vishwas

    Hello,
    The FillBy method loads data according to what the results are from the SELECT statement, so if there is one row then you get one row in the DataGridView, have two rows then two rows show up.
    Some examples
    Form load populates our dataset with all data as it was defined with a plain SELECT statement. Button1 loads via a query I created after the fact to filter on a column, the next button adds a new row to the existing data. When adding a new row it is appended
    to the current data displayed and the primary key is a negative value but the new key is shown after pressing the save button on the BindingNavigator or there are other ways to get the new key by manually adding the row to the backend table bypassing the Adapter.
    The following article with code shows this but does not address adapters.
    Conceptually speaking the code in the second code block shows how to get the new key
    Public Class Form1
    Private Sub StudentsBindingNavigatorSaveItem_Click(
    sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles StudentsBindingNavigatorSaveItem.Click
    Me.Validate()
    Me.StudentsBindingSource.EndEdit()
    Me.TableAdapterManager.UpdateAll(Me.MyDataSet)
    End Sub
    Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    'TODO: This line of code loads data into the 'MyDataSet.Students' table. You can move, or remove it, as needed.
    Me.StudentsTableAdapter.Fill(Me.MyDataSet.Students)
    End Sub
    Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
    Me.StudentsTableAdapter.FillBy(Me.MyDataSet.Students, ComboBox1.Text)
    End Sub
    Private Sub Button2_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click
    Me.MyDataSet.Students.AddStudentsRow("Jane", "Adams", "Female")
    End Sub
