  • How to invoke ADF application URL from OAF?

    Hi guru's,
    We have a developed a custom ADF application using Fusion Middleware 11g.
    We would like to integrate this ADF with existing EBS/OAF application.
    We were able to invoke ADF URL from EBS responsibility with a special function type "ADFx" in R12.1.3.
    Now we need to pass context/profile level parameters from EBS to external ADF application. Like logged in userId/RespId etc...
    We are running ADF application also in same EBS DB and hence want to use same fnd_user/Resp concept in ADF.
    Can anyone help me on how to pass these parameters like userId/RespId from EBS to ADF while invoking ADF application URL?
    If we can append the values to ADF URL, we would be bale to parse them in ADF context. But, i am stuck at passing parameters from EBS.
    How Can we invoke ADF URL from OAF page? is there any specific function available or is it just URL invoke?
    Also, in OAF the logged in user session information is maintained in cookies(if i am correct), is there any way that we can pass the session level values from OAF to ADF?
    Any help in this regard would be a great help!!!
    Thanks

  • ADF application - URL rewriting

    Hello All,
    Has anyone configured URL rewriting in OHS using Apache mod_rewrite ? One of the business requirement for the ADF application we're building is to have user friend URLs like http://hostname/portal/q/myquotes.do instead of default URLs like http://hostname:7777/portal/faces/quote/myquotes.jspx. It would be of great help if you've any useful suggestions. Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    -Vijay

    Weblogic has a module for OHS which takes care of simple requirements of forwarding.
    Entry in httpd.conf is something like this (i am using cluster):
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
         WebLogicCluster 172.23.210.13:7003,172.23.210.22:7005
         MatchExpression /console
    </IfModule>
    mod_rewrite will be no different from normal. As in nothing special for ADF/Weblogic app server.

  • Iframe within same domain in adf application

    I am facing quite a strange issue here , in Oracle ADF we are invoking another ADF application URL, On click of a button popup is opened and the iframe loads the URL given, Here is my scenario
    When my application is deployed in first weblogic domain and URL that is being invoked is from a different weblogic Domain , everything works as expected,
    When my application is deployed in the same weblogic domain as the URL that is being invoked , we see 500 error:
    Any pointers will be really helpful as our UAT starts in 2 days.

    Hi,
    guess you need to contact customer support with a test case that shows the problem. The error message tells you that there is no window ID associated with the application you call, which usually indicates an inproper request to an ADF application.

  • Receive a parameter in the URL in adf application

    Hello,
    using the sendRedirect to direct control to another adf application, as:
    ((HttpServletResponse)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getResponse()).sendRedirect("some url");assuming that I am pushing parameters to the url, how can I read them in called application !!
    to make the post clearer, assume that I have two adf applications A and B,
    A will redirect the user to B using the sendRedirect method,
    where shall I receive the request to get the parameters or attributes added to the URL !!!
    hopefully I have made the post clearer so that you can help !!
    appreciated, thanks in advance.
    rgrds,

    For passing parameters to another ADF application, we could use as a parameter as part of the request parameter of the URL as mentioned in
    http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/passing_parameters_to_adf_appl
    For reading the parameters in the another application (assuming CurrentDepartmentName is the parameter) ,
    HttpServletRequest request =
    *(HttpServletRequest)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest();*
    String strvalue = request.getParameter("CurrentDepartmentName");
    Thanks,

  • Adf application not rendered correctly with url ip and url localhost.

    Hi all.
    I have a strange problem. When I enter to my adf application deployed in a local stand alone weblogic server with the ip:
    http://localhost:7001/Application/faces/index
    it renders fine. But when I load it with the url:
    http://10.5.14.15:7001/Application/faces/index (private ip), it doesn´t render fine. Tables haven´t the same style, and some elements appear selected like if I have selected them with the mouse.
    This problem only happens with internet explorer, not with Chrome.
    Also when I see a table inside a region in a jspx, the with of the header of the columns is not rendered correctly, causing the width of the header row not be the same than the other rows.
    This problem also happens only with internet explorer.
    Any help please?
    Internet Explorer 8. JDeveloper 11g.2. Weblogic 10.3.5.0
    Also happens with Internet Explorer.
    Maybe encoding? doctype?
    Thanks

    What would the DOCTYPE have to do with the IP address?
    Have you looked at the HTML source in the different browsers and tried to debug what's wrong? Sounds like there may be some images/css files that aren't being downloaded in IE when you use that IP address. Are you sure IE isn't configured with a proxy?

  • ADF application randomly refreshes the page and url gets new _afrLoop id.

    I have an ADF application on 11.1.1.6.0 environment. Randomly it refreshes itself on a random event. It is very hard to reproduce as it is not so frequent, however it is critical as users are continuously working on this revenue critical application. When the refresh occurs _afrLoop id changes in the url.
    It seems that when users press the link/button(most of them are partial submit) the browser session is trying to communicate with the server, but the server has lost the track of the session and gives new _afrLoop id causing it to reload the page.
    ADF logs does not show any indication this this issue. Did some research online and found following threads similar to it.
    Re: _afrLoop causing endless loop in my login.jspx in ADF Security
    However, in my case it just refreshes once and does not get into infinite loop. Also it does not happen on login but it is happening randomly when user is working on it.
    The application is deployed on the cluster, we have tried running just one node but the issue is still there.
    Our next steps is to remove the Trinidad filter as suggested by the above thread however it seems this could be risky as mentioned here(Remove trinidad filter from web.xml impact in adf
    Any help or pointer in the direction to solve this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Dear All,
    I faced the same issue.
    1. Happens only in IE, when you navigate from one application (say A with web server as HTTP OHS) to another application (say B with web server as HTTPS apache). Both being webcenter applictaion
    2. If i hit the URL of application B web server directly this does not happen
    3. If I hit the weblogic managed server instead of the ws for application A and navigate to application B there is no _afrloop
    4. When i access application A and navigate to application B through the WS _afrloop goes infinite
    As solution I added the below parameters in my OHS http.conf file, and issue got resolved.
    Yet there is one more issue where the IDM cookies are getting cleared, this will help if you are not using IDM in the OHS web servers for authentication.
    Please provide inputs.
    Header unset Cookie
    Header unset Set-Cookie

  • Identify the end url of ADF application in Weblogic console

    Hi All,
    Is there a way to identify the end url of an ADF application deployed in the Weblogic server (v10.3.6) from the Weblogic console screen?
    Request you to please share the steps.
    Best Regards,
    Ankit Gupta

    No, the only thing you can do is to setup a welcome file in your web.xml. This file or files then cna be accessed through the testing tab of an application from the admin console.

  • Browser back button not working with ADF Application integrated with SSO

    I have integrated an adf application with Oracle SSO Authentication. Application is running fine.
    Though, while navigating between pages, using browser back button , it is not redirecting the url properly
    Should Redirect it to : http://<hostname>:<port>/<contex-root>/<servlet>/<id>
    Presently Redirecting it to :http://<hostname>:<port>/<contex-root>
    As, directory browsing is not allowed, there is Error 403--Forbidden .
    Can anybody tell what changes needs to be made to make browser back button work.

    In some of the documentation I have read, they have mentioned that using the back button in a browser doesn't work too well with any JSF type of application (not just ADF and Jdeveloper apps).
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/web.1111/b31974/web_form.htm#CFHHJGJH
    Instead, they suggest using buttons on the form.
    There is a video on using navigation between forms that may be of value: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsPtmRID5XI&feature=plcp

  • How can i create datasource on apache server for ADF application?

    Hi All,
    i my use case i have created simple adf application using ADF BC and want to deploy on Apache server 6.x.
    So my question is that  how can i create Data Source i have goggling and find  two different way to do this.
    1. write following line of code on apache server conf/Context.xml file.
    <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container"
                  type="javax.sql.DataSource"
                   driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
                  url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:dst"
                  username="jagrandb" password="jagrantest" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
                  maxWait="-1"/>
    but when i have used this way i got following exception.
    org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.PoolingDataSource$PoolGuardConnectionWrapper cannot be cast to oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection
    check link-
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2564233
    2. write following line of code apache conf/Server.xml file
    <GlobalNamingResources>
        <!-- Editable user database that can also be used by
             UserDatabaseRealm to authenticate users
        -->
        <Resource name="UserDatabase" auth="Container"
                  type="org.apache.catalina.UserDatabase"
                  description="User database that can be updated and saved"
                  factory="org.apache.catalina.users.MemoryUserDatabaseFactory"
                  pathname="conf/tomcat-users.xml" />
    <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container"
                  type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
                  description="User database that can be updated and saved"
                  driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
                  factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
                  url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//172.31.43.207:1521:dst"
                  username="jagrandb" password="jagrantest" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
                  maxWait="-1"   />
      </GlobalNamingResources>
    and add this line in context.xml file inside <context> tag
    <ResourceLink global="jdbc/TestDB" name="jdbc/TestDB" type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"/>
    but when i have run application i have got following error

    I can run the application correctly in jdeveloper 11g environment. I think there is something wrong with deployment. Can anyone help me?

    When you target url with .jspx, you are running the page itself, not in the task flow context, so navigation doesn't work.
    In the task flow, your page has 'Activity ID' (which is, for example, 'mainPage' for mainPage.jspx) and the navigation is defined for activity IDs, not pages.

  • Getting "Error 403--Forbidden" while accessing ADF bookmarked URL

    Hi,
    Here am trying to work with an ADF application to suport bookmarking.
    Following are the steps I did to create a sample application.
    Created a bounded task-flow (user-details.xml), which has the "Method call" as default activity along with an another view activity(userData.jsff page).
    This task-flow takes an input parameter "Id" to display user details. In the method call activity user data will be initialized using the given input parameter and then the data will be displayed using userData.jsff page.
    Created a view activity (details.jspx page) in adfc-config.xml file.
    Marked the "details.jspx" file as bookmark-able by changing "Bookmark property to true" and given a Bookmark URL Parameter "Name is Id and Value is #{pageFlowScope.user_id}".
    Dropped the bounded task-flow user-details.xml as a region into the details.jspx file.
    Now the user_id which is coming as URL Parameter will be passed to user-details.xml task-flows input parameter value.
    Created users.jspx page which lists all the users as home page. In the users.jspx page we'll have a link to user details page with a parameter Id.
    By running the application will get users page. When I click on the user details link in the users page, the app showing user details page as expected.
    Now I bookmarked the user details page. If I open the bookmarked page in the same tab, it is working fine. But when I open this bookmark in a new tab getting the "Error 403--Forbidden" response.
    Bookmarked URL: localhost:7101/BookmarkTestApp-ViewController-context-root/faces/user_details?id=123&_afrWindowMode=0&_afrLoop=4884151149818&_adf.ctrl-state=35yghmx4f_18
    When I click the above bookmark in another tab the url is processing for few seconds ( 2 to 3 seconds) and converts to localhost:7101/BookmarkTestApp-ViewController-context-root/ and giving 403 response. At this time it is not touching my beans at all (verified this by running the server in debug mode).
    Web.xml looks like:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <web-app xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
             xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd"

  • Error while opening Application URL

    Hi
    I have developed an ADF application and applies FORM based security.It works fine and asking for login and only authorized users are able to access application. All well in integrated weblogic.
    When I deploy this application on Managed server and admin server, none of the url works. IT works for admin server url if I use node one IP. We have two nodes.
    I have enabled security in it and it redirects to login.html page first and then goes to main ADF page. but in this case its not redirecting to ADF page and throwing 401 error.
    Everything is working fine in Integrated weblogic server.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Vibzz

    Hi
    Load balance issue I can understand but its not working on Admin server too. If I deploy it on Admin server it works fine with
    http://adminServerIP:port/Context-root/faces/index.jspx but when I replace it with http://adminServerHOST:port/Context-root/faces/index.jspx it redirects to login.html page and once I login it gives below error:
    Error 401--Unauthorized
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.2 401 Unauthorized
    The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.46) containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity MAY include relevant diagnostic information. HTTP access authentication is explained in section 11.
    We have a simple jsp page and it works fine with admin server IP as well as post name. I am not able to identify why I am getting this error.
    Any thoughts.
