Hi,
sounds as if PPT is involved. Can you try with JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 to see if this problem still reproduces ? JDeveloepr 10.1.3.4 is available for download from otn.oracle.com/products/jdev

  • ADF AutoSubmit True column Loosing Focus after hitting Tab

    Hi,
    I am on 11.1.2.2.0. I have implemented af:table component and inside table on few columns I have autoSubmit="true" immediate="true" . After entering values into those columns when I hit Tab (To go to next field in table) , it goes to next field and looses focus. Is there any work around or fix to overcome this issue ?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
    Thanks for the links. My requirement is to set focus inside af:table. Inside table I have say 5 fields.
    3rd Field is LOV and 4th fields is Text. After entering LOV info in Field3 focus should go to field4(which is inputText).
    I tried

    This works for ADF Form entry. When I tried implement this in table the field id(eg it4) is not picked.
    I found other blog for where it is mentioned field id dwill be different in case of Table.

  • Problem with custom control and focus

    I've a problem with the focus in a custom control that contains a TextField and some custom nodes.
    If i create a form with some of these custom controls i'm not able to navigate through these fields by using the TAB key.
    I've implemented a KeyEvent listener on the custom control and was able to grab the focus and forward it to the embedded TextField by calling requestFocus() on the TextField but the problem is that the TextField won't get rid of the focus anymore. Means if i press TAB the first embedded TextField will get the focus, after pressing TAB again the embedded TextField in the next custom control will get the focus AND the former focused TextField still got the focus!?
    So i'm not able to remove the focus from an embeded TextField.
    Any idea how to do this ?

    Here you go, it contains the control, skin and behavior of the custom control, the css file and a test file that shows the problem...

    I would suggest not to use JWindow but JPopupMenu! In
    the JPopupMenu you can add any swing-components!
    You can show the Popup in focusGained (ok, that is
    not so user-friendly, in my opinion a shortcut would
    do better!).
    The Popup will hide automatically if you click with
    the mouse somewhere else or hit escape.Thank you for the reply.
    I'm still having problems. I'd prefer not to use a jpopupmenu, because I want to use that for something else. This was just going to be a simple list that would appear near the text field so user could have a list of options to choose from.
    Focus gained on the textfield brings up the list. Selecting something on the list clears it (hides). This idea works well on the mac. But on the pc the jwindow keeps hiding behind the main frame ?
    I have the following code
    The windows is created as follows
         listWindow = new JWindow(SwingUtilities.getWindowAncestor(this));
    listWindow.getContentPane().add(pane);
    listWindow.setVisible(false);
    pane contains the jlist of values
    Then the textfield is as follows
    textField.addFocusListener(new java.awt.event.FocusAdapter() {
    public void focusGained(java.awt.event.FocusEvent evt) {
    if (showListWindow) {
    if (!listWindow.isVisible()) {
    Point los = getLocationOnScreen();
    listWindow.setVisible(true);
    listWindow.setLocation(los.x +580, los.y +75);
    listWindow.pack();
    listWindow.toFront();
              textField().requestFocus();
    I use a boolean showListWindow to decide when to show. Because I noticed that displaying the jlist and requesting focus to the textfield caused the focusGain to fire again.
    Any ideas why the pc keeps the list hidden ? If I move the main frame I can see !

  • Activate a trigger when a textfield is focused

    Hello all,
    I have a textfield and I want to execute a procedure when that textfield is focused. I want to do this by using the keyboard and not the mouse.
    For example when I am at a textfield called X, I want to press the Tab button and move to textfield Z. Then I want my procedure to get executed.
    Which trigger do I have to use?
    Thank you

    I read the initial problem :
    "I have a textfield and I want to execute a procedure when that textfield is focused"
    and I bet, that he needs the feature too, when he enter the Item via "Next_Item", "Previous_Item", "Next_Record", "Previous_Record", "Next_Block", "Previous_Block", ...
    these are the classical problems, when navigating to an item, when the developer thinks, that the user typically goes to that item via TAB. But after the first tests he learns, that SHIFT-TAB and all the other shortcuts described above have to work too.
    At that point it's much better to use a WNII than Key-Triggers

  • TextField loses focus only to another TextField

    ...when any UIComponent is onstage. If a UIComponent is not onstage, I can click anything else, even the blank stage backing, and the TextField loses focus.
    I want the TextField to have a FOCUS_OUT event when the stage (or anything else) is clicked. How can this work when there are a number of UIComponents onstage? I can hack it by putting a blank text field in back of everything, but that won't work in every case. Any ideas? Thanks.

    textField2.setDocument(textField1.getDocument());Once you do this, whatever is put into one text field will show up in the other and vice versa. Not sure if this is what the OP wants, but it does solve the problem.

  • What is difference between ADF Task Flow and Faces-Config - when delpoy ?

    What is difference between ADF Task Flow and Faces-Config? When I create navigation between pages with ADF task flow then the navigation don't work when I deploy my application to Weblogic 10.3. When I use default server then navigation works fine. With Faces_config in both situations all works ok - on Stanalone server and default.
    Where is the problem?
    Best regards!

    Shay, I don't use both faces-config and adf task flow! When I failed with task flow I tried faces-config.
    I have active on my weblogic - adf.oracle.domain(1.0,11.1.1.0.0). This is the right ADF? If yes then where is the problem?
    Best regards!

  • How do I limit the size of a TextField and do an auto advance of that field

    Attached is a copy of my program. It reads a bar code and enters that bar code into a textfield and 2 text areas. everything is working fine except I want the bar code read to trigger a print to the 2 text areas automatically instead of the user having to hit the enter key. Any suggestions on where I should start researching or any snippets of code that I could use would be appreciated.

    Sorry that you're still having trouble :-( The title of your post seems a little different to your description of the problem, but I'm assuming you want the textfields to auto-scroll so they always show the last entry?
    Try this://Append scanned data to text areas
    cTextArea.append(scanCount + "->" + scanText + " " + " " + cDate + " " + cTime );
    cCountLabel.setText("Current Pallet Case Count = " + scanCount);
    cTextArea.append("\r\n");
    //ADD CALL TO AUTO-SCROLL METHOD:
    autoScroll(cTextArea);
    tTextArea.append(sessionCount + "->" + scanText + " " + " " + cDate + " " + cTime);
    tCountLabel.setText("Total Pallet Case Count = " + sessionCount);
    tTextArea.append("\r\n");
    //ADD CALL TO AUTO-SCROLL METHOD:
    autoScroll(tTextArea);Then you need to add this method to your class:private void autoScroll(TextArea textArea){
        //get the length of the text in the text area:
        int endOfText = (textArea.getText()).length();
        //...then set the caret position to the end:
        textArea.setCaretPosition(endOfText);

  • Adjust position and size of textField and button...

    I have the following sample program which has a few textFields and a button, but the positions are not good. How do I make the textField to be at the right of label and not at the bottom of the label ? Also how to adjust the length of textField and button ? The following form design looks ugly. Please advise.

    Sorry but, i've never seen formula editor for altering position and size. If you know one please navigate me.
    I guess you have updated formula editor beside "Lock size and position" - if yes its not right. There is only one editor beside 4 items and editor is actually for Suppress.
    Anyways, A trick to change size a position is:
    Create 4-5 copies (as many as you expect positions) of the text object. place each at different positions,  right click, Format, Suppress and in formula editor for suppress write the formula: If your condition is true, Suppress=false, else true.
    Position will not change but user will feel; for different conditions -position is changed
    Hope this helps.

  • Why ADF Business Components and TopLink

    Hi All,
    Why are there two types of components in Businses Tier? (ADF Business Components and TopLink). Even through there are other types, I can visualize the use of other components but ADF Business Components & TopLink seems to serve the same requirement.
    Can some one provide me information on what is the difference between these two and when to use which one?

    ADF Business Components (aka BC4J) are different from Toplink from approach point of view. Basically if you are more comfortable with SQL and want fine grain control over what and how SQL are run against the database, BC4J is the way to go, because, it's you who write the queries(in ViewObjects)
    If you are from more of java backgroup and can visualize things in term of Object and relationships among objects, so on and so forth then Toplink would be the right choice.
    Pls see the post by Shay in his blog:

  • ADF BC: createInsert and partial trigger

    I notice when i add a createInsert operation to my page and then the corresponding table, JDev will add a partialTrigger to the button.
    I don't see why.
    When i press the createInsert, the table should have the partialTrigger, not the createInsert button because the table should be refreshed in order to show the new row. But when i add the partialTrigger to the table, than it like an infinite loop. Table refreshes button, button refreshed table,...
    It's resolved by removing the partialTrigger from the button but i am wondering why jdev does it?
    I think it has something to do with the disabled state of the button but that does not make sense. THe same for the commit button. If you want everything to work with partialTriggers, then you have lots of buttons/tables linking to each other causing loops or does ADF notices that and takes care of it?

    Hi,
    I reproduce your case and I do not see any loop,
    about your question that why the createInsert need the partialtrigger :
    1-first of all it is because of the the disabled attribute which depends on the table
    2- Second, the table row selection is automatically partial, I mean when you click on the row partially the selected row is determind as it is done partially there is not any way
    for depended components on the table to notify about the state of the tree(changes of row or anything) so the depended component such as CreateInsert need to set the partial trigger.
    3-why the table does not need the partialtrigger at the time of drag and drop, the answer is easy because the default button that you drop on the page is not partialSubmit, so why any other depended component like Table, must have the partialtrigger?? it is only needed when the button is partialSubmit,
    I hope my answer is clear enough.
    to conclude, there is not any mistake or bug from Oracle for sure.

  • Problem in implements ADF Faces: Detecting and handling user session expiry

    Hello everybody
    I´m trying to implement a method to handle user session expiry as explained by frank nimphius in his blog.
    http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2007/08/22/adf-faces-detecting-and-handling-user-session-expiry/
    I have implemented the class bellow and add the filters in web.xml. However when I add the JavaServer Faces Servlet to sign the filter, my hole application get nuts. I try to publish the applicatoin in the OAS and it seems that it already starts expired.
    Someone konw what I´m doing wrong?
    I use the filter
    <filter>
    <filter-name>ApplicationSessionExpiryFilter</filter-name>
    <filter-class>adf.sample.ApplicationSessionExpiryFilter</filter-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>SessionTimeoutRedirect</param-name>
    <param-value>SessionExpired.jspx</param-value>
    </init-param>
    </filter>
    then I add
    XML:
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>ApplicationSessionExpiryFilter</filter-name>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    </filter-mapping>
    package adf.sample;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import javax.servlet.Filter;
    import javax.servlet.FilterChain;
    import javax.servlet.FilterConfig;
    import javax.servlet.ServletException;
    import javax.servlet.ServletRequest;
    import javax.servlet.ServletResponse;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
    this is the class
    public class ApplicationSessionExpiryFilter implements Filter {
    private FilterConfig _filterConfig = null;
    public void init(FilterConfig filterConfig) throws ServletException {
    _filterConfig = filterConfig;
    public void destroy() {
    _filterConfig = null;
    public void doFilter(ServletRequest request, ServletResponse response,
    FilterChain chain) throws IOException, ServletException {
    String requestedSession = ((HttpServletRequest)request).getRequestedSessionId();
    String currentWebSession = ((HttpServletRequest)request).getSession().getId();
    boolean sessionOk = currentWebSession.equalsIgnoreCase(requestedSession);
    // if the requested session is null then this is the first application
    // request and "false" is acceptable
    if (!sessionOk && requestedSession != null){
    // the session has expired or renewed. Redirect request
    ((HttpServletResponse) response).sendRedirect(_filterConfig.getInitParameter("SessionTimeoutRedirect"));
    else{
    chain.doFilter(request, response);
    I'm really having trouble controlling user sessions. if someone know where I can get materials to learn how to implements session in Jdev ADF + BC, I´m very grateful.
    Thank you Marnie

    The class works fine.. the issue is when I add the this code into web.xml
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>ApplicationSessionExpiryFilter</filter-name>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    </filter-mapping>
    bellow the web.xml
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <web-app>
    <description>Empty web.xml file for Web Application</description>
    <context-param>

    <context-param>
    <param-name>CpxFileName</param-name>
    <param-value>userinterface.DataBindings</param-value>
    </context-param>
    <filter>
    <filter-name>ApplicationSessionExpiryFilter</filter-name>
    <filter-class>view.managedBean.ApplicationSessionExpiryFilter</filter-class>

  • JavaFX 2.2 TextField and TextArea use black text-fill on select.

    Two of my applications--one FXML and the other UI-coded on NetBeans7.1.1--both have a problem when user selects text in either TextArea or TextField when editing. When content word is double-clicked, the selection background becomes dark blue (dodgerblue) but the text remains BLACK. According to JavaFX-CSS reference the default for -fx-highlight-text-fill is WHITE but this doesn't seem to occur, assuming that "highlight" is the correct operation name.
    I tried an explicit CSS statement: .text-medium {-fx-font: 14 serif;
         -fx-highlight-text-fill: white;
         -fx-highlight-fill: lightgreen;
    } even trying to change the selection background. This also had no effect on selected text color or background.
    Interestingly, other "selection" operations for a TableView or ListView cell work as specified.
    I don't know the JavaFX build version. It came imbedded in jdk1.7.0_03 and was updated with "javafx-windows-i586__Vlatest.exe" download on May 2, 2012.
    Please let me know if this is abnormal and, if so, how it can be fixed.

    MORE INFO:
    The applications and testing is now running on up-to-date platforms: jdk 7.2.0_u4, javafx-2_2_0-beta-b10, NetBeans 7.2 Beta, and JavaFxSceneBuilder 1.0 (which is now somewhat integrated into NB7.2).
    The basic problem--highlighted text-fill color for both TextField and TextArea remains BLACK when double-clicked or selected draging cursor. This should be WHITE by default and the black text is almost invisible.
    Another discovery is that the legendary CTL-Z does not work within TextArea or TextField. All of the other edit keys seem to be fine. My applications have a lot of edit functions so not having an "undo" function is disappointing. Maybe there is some API disclaimer as to CTL-Z being unsupported. Anyone know about this?

  • Enhance Req: ADF BC Assoc and Link editor

    Hi JDev team
    I'd like to raise the following enhancement requests please for JDev 11g TP.
    For both the ADF BC Association and Link editor, to view the Relationship you need to click on the Relationship category. Seems to me 9 times out of 10 when you access these objects you want to see the relationship. I'd suggest the Relationship information needs to be under the General category as part of the default view.
    Can you raise an enhancement request for this please.
    Also, for the Association editor, to view the properties of the association, you need to click on the Relationship category, Accessors editor button, and then in the Association Properties dialog you see the association properties (eg. Implement Cascade Delete etc). This seems unnecessarily hidden too deeply.
    Can you raise an enhancement request to promote these options to the editor rather than in this dialog please.
    Thanks & regards,
    CM.

    Filed ER for the first one (#6121857)
    The 2nd one has already been implemented post-JavaOne Tech Preview. There is a "Behavior" section on the Relationship panel now with those options accessible.
