ADF controller design

My application has a home page, login, employees details, contacts pages. The home page has a menu navigational panel which contains commandlinks to 'employee details' page and 'contacts' page. The employee details page is confidential and always have to be accessed after login. So the flow is such Home > Click 'Employee Details' command link> if not logged in > Show Login page > Employee Details and likewise
Home > Click 'Employee Details' > if logged in > Employee Details .
Second if the user clicks contact page commandlink irrespective of user logged in or not page flow go to the Contact page.
Also the Menu navigation is part of the application page template and will be shown on every page.
How to implement this use case with ADF controller.
Thanks

You can set Object privileges and grant roles. If a user doesn't have privilege to see a page, disable or don
t show the link itself based on his/her role.
Also, when the user goes to particular page you can control the access like if user A doesn't have delete privilege you can disable delete button in employee details. That way it's good even if you have more confidential pages.

  • Oracle.adf.controller.activity.ActivityLogicException: ADFC-02013: Unable to get metadata for activity

    Hello,
    I am new to ADF, I am trying to learn how to navigate from one page to another, the code that I have is simple, but it is not working, I specified the control flow rules in the adfc-config.xml and I even tried to specify the navigation rules in the faces-config.xml file, but it doesn't matter if I do it in one configuration file or another I get the same error.  This is my first time working with ADF, I don't have formal training, just some video tutorial that I have seen on internet.  I have previous experience with JSF, so I feel more comfortable writing the code for my program than using all the graphical tools (at least at this moment)
    Any help to solve this problem will be highly appreciated.

    User, tell us your jdev version, please!
    What is your goal?
    What you have find had nothing to do with ADF. If you ent to learn adf then I recommend to work through find of the tutorials available on the jdev home page.
    If adf is not your goal, you might want to use Trinidad and ask your question in their forum.
    You might not like the declarative approach adf uses, but if you want to learn how to use adf, you have to understand how ADF works. Most can be done using java, but one you understand the framework you see the advantage.

  • Fuzzy logic controller design

    Hi,
    Is it possible to configure the "Fuzzy Logic Controller Design" with sending a code in another language of programmation like C for exemple and without need to access each time using : Tools > Control Design and Simulation > Fuzzy Logic Controller Design  ?????????????????????????????????

    I assume you have 3 terms for each of your 3 parameters then, to get the 27 rules. If this is the case, going to the rule-base editor will bring up all 27 rules (the control designer automatically populates the rules list, so you don't even have to add additional rules to reach this number). Consequences, unlike rules however, are limited to 9. When I asked what you are using the controller before, perhaps I should have been more specific, as I was more curious as to whether or not you need singletons for your consequences? I am still having trouble imagining a situation where you need 27 *consequences*, unless perhaps they are singletons.
    That being said, I don't know of a way to use the fuzzy logic kit to create a controller with more than 9 consequences (27 rules are no problem). How familiar are you with the mathematics and principles behind the fuzzy logic controller? It's always possible to write your own code, and if you need any help, I'd be more than willing to help out.

  • Class adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext not found

    Hi all,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0 and I have a class uses FacesPageLifecycleContext.
    When I import the class oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext, the debugger tells me it does not found that class.
    How can I solve the problem?
    Does I miss any library on my project?
    Thanks
    Andrea

    Excuse me, but I don't understand. Have I to found all these files:
    trinidad-api.jar
    trinidad-impl.jar
    adf-richclient-api-11.jar
    adf-richclient-impl-11.jar
    in my classpath?
    I am looking for these files in C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\adfv but in this folder I have only jlib and skin folder.
    Can you give any other informations, please.
    Thank you so much

  • Oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext not found

    Hi all,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0 and I am trying to do an application about security.
    I have found some references on web and I have a bean that uses this line of code:
    FacesPageLifecycleContext ctx = (FacesPageLifecycleContext)event.getLifecycleContext();
    but on the line:
    import oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext;
    the debugger tells me: "class oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext not found"
    What's the correct class to import?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    not sure what you are doing - however I am not asking ;-)
    Try import oracle.adf.controller.v2.context.LifecycleContext

    But when I use up to 4 input variables, the Rule Editor window is out of center and I cannot see the left parts of the antecedents.
    See the attached picture.
    The visualization is not movable and resizing the window with system utilities does not give any results.
    Anyody can help me? Thanks!

    Hello all
    The PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit 2009 was completely redesigned.
    There are new API VIs and a more intuitive user interface for creating controllers.
    You can create MIMO controllers with unlimited inputs and outputs, and also modify the controller on-the-fly.
    Check it out the new features and let us know your needs on Fuzzy control.

    Apple,
    First thing I'd suggest -> try re-installing jdeveloper in a path without spaces to see if that resolves the problem.

  • ADF Controller in non-jdeveloper environment

    Hello,
    I have been using adf faces in eclipse environment with the JSF Controller (faces-config.xml). I need now to implement use case with adf task flows and for this purpose I need to configure the adf controller to be used (adfc-config.xml). I copied the adf-config.xml file from a corresponding jdev project, and also the weblogic-application.xml and web.xml fils, but this changes do not have any effect. Does anyone know if there are any other configurations needed to get the adf controller working?
    Thanks

    One of mine weblogic-appliction.xml from inside the EAR looks like
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" ?>
    - <weblogic-application xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-application.xsd" xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-application">

  • ADF Controller State API

    Hello
    Is there any way to get the Controller state for the current page using Java Code.
    I am using document.location.search in java script, wonder if I can access the same using Some adf API.
    http://xxxx/xxxxxt/faces/login.jspx?*adf.ctrl-state=937739223*
    Thanks.

    My actual requirement to get the Controller state.
    I have page A which is a bounded task flow.When page A is closed i call a javascript to return the TaskFlow and pass document.location.search which will pass the controller state.
    But the problem comes when i open page B (another bounded Task Flow) from Page A and do return Task FLow from page B.
    It navigates back to Page A but then replaces the URL with new adf Controller State. When i actually execute Javascript to execute return Task FLow it gets appended with new Controller state.
    So i need a way to get the ADF Controller state through API instead of URL.

  • Oracle.adfinternal.controller.savepoint.SavePointException: ADFC-08008: The ADF Controller is unable to insert a savepoint record for ID

    I implemented a save point in a task flow by creating a save point in a method action The following is the code from managed bean for creating the save point:
                 ControllerContext cc = ControllerContext.getInstance();
    if (cc != null) {
    SavePointManager mgr = cc.getSavePointManager();
    if (mgr != null) {
    String id = mgr.createSavePoint();
    savePointId = id;
    It worked fine in local (Integrated Weblogic server). It also worked fine initially when I deployed the changes to the DEV weblogic server. But after a couple of days, in DEV server I get the following error everytime when trying to create a save point:

    At the bottom of the stack, this statement "Caused By: java.sql.SQLException: Connection has already been closed." intrigues me, but why this error occurs after a couple of days or after particular number of connections or access to the application.
    This same issue is also happening in all environments including PROD. Please help. JDeveloper version used is 11.1.2.1.0.

    We got the solution from Oracle support.
    Passivation Fails With Error "Connection has already been closed" in PoolConnection.checkConnection() (Doc ID 1330271.1). Problem is caused by the WebLogic Server Connection Pool feature "Inactive Connection Timeout". When this parameter is set up, WLS will forcibly release reserved connections back into the pool. This is a problem for ADF BC that relies on keeping the JDBC connection associated to its
    Application Module instance.
    Set the "Inactive Timeout Session" to 0 (default), so that the JDBC connection stays active while
    the corresponding Application Module instance is active:

  • Programming fuzzy logic controller design

    Hi,
    please i am using fuzzy logic controller design. Inputs and outputs data are connected to an OPC server.
    My question is: could i access programmatically (in the vi ) to the fuzzy logic controller design to prevent to enter in it each time that i need to change values ?
    Samer,

    Hello all
    The PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit 2009 was completely redesigned.
    There are new API VIs and a more intuitive user interface for creating controllers.
    You can create MIMO controllers with unlimited inputs and outputs, and also modify the controller on-the-fly.
    Check it out the new features and let us know your needs on Fuzzy control.

  • Flex Controller Design

    Hi,
    just want  to know if it is poosible to have a 7500 Flex Controller  Cluster in diffrent Locations, like Germany an Australia?
    This should be deployed as a redudant system, in case of a failure in one location the remaing Cluster can take over.
    Also the main maintenance/management should be done in the Headquarter (Germany).
    Is it possible to configure Guest Access via Web Interface.
    Last question: how many AP`s can be managed, example: with one Controller 500 AP can I then manage 1000 with two controller?
    Thanks and Regards
    Michael S.

    Hi Steve,
    thanks a lot for your answer.
    As these are questions from our customer I am just the one who redirect it to you.
    The customer wants to make sure that his requirements are realizable.
    So if you say yes that means, yes to which question...?:
    just want to know if it is possible to have a 7500 Flex Controller Cluster in different Locations, like Germany and Australia?
    This should be deployed as a redundant system, in case of a failure in one location the remaing Cluster can take over.

    Last question: how many AP`s can be managed, example: with one Controller 500 AP can I then manage 1000 with two controller?
    That actually means is the amount of AP depending of the number of Controller I am using?
    Please feel free to add comments in the questions above.
