ADF Customer Maintenance

After doing the browse and edit pages, I have proceeded to do the Create button and the DBSequence. Now when the application is tested, I have the following messages...
Validation Error
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
JBO-26041: Failed to post data to database during "Insert": SQL Statement "BEGIN INSERT INTO OE8.CUSTOMERS(CUSTOMER_ID,CUST_FIRST_NAME,CUST_LAST_NAME,CREDIT_LIMIT) VALUES (:1,:2,:3,:4) RETURNING CUSTOMER_ID INTO :5; END;".
ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("OE8"."CUSTOMERS"."CUSTOMER_ID") ORA-06512: at line 1
I have tried to go back to the customer attributes and make corrections but to no results...
Any help please?

When you use a DBSequence data type, it's assumed that your table has a BEFORE INSERT FOR EACH ROW trigger on it what will assign the sequence number for that attribute using a database sequence.
Does your CUSTOMERS table have such a trigger?
If not, assuming your sequence was named CUSTOMER_ID_SEQ you would write the trigger like this:
create or replace trigger assign_customer_id_seq
before insert on customers for each row
begin
  select customer_id_seq.nextval into :new.customer_id from dual;
end;
show errors

  • How to invoke ADF custom application from existing R12 EBS application

    Hi Guru's,
    We have a requirement to invoke ADF custom application from existing EBS R12.1.3 application.
    Is there any documentation provided by ORACLE or any online help on how to integrate/invoke ADF pages from existing EBS application?
    And can we pass any EBS session level parameters like(user info, language, operating unit etc) to ADF layer while invoking the ADF application?
    I have thoroughly searched the forums and got some info related to JAAS security links and all. but i am looking for exact integration specific steps.
    Any help in this regard is a great help!!
    Thanks alot for your help!!

  • AR Customer Maintenance Authorization Control

    Hi All,
    I'm using SAP ECC6 and Oracle 10.2.0.4.0.
    I wanted to control the authorization for Accounts Receivables (AR) Customer Maintenance.
    Currently, there are some tcodes under this role, such as:
    1) XD01 - Create Customer (Centrally)
    2) FD01 - Create Customer (Accounting)
    How can it be control from authorization point of view if I want to allow my user to have DISPLAY authorization only whenever they execute the above tcodes.
    For example:
    If user execute tcode: XD01 and key in the account group: End Customer, they will not be able to enter any information and save it.
    I understand that this tcode is fall under maintenance authorization group, but can it be controlled?
    Please kindly advice how can this be done.
    Appreciate for any of your help and advice.
    Thank you.
    Peter

    Hi Suresh,
    Thank you for your kind response.
    I've checked OB31 and found no entries. I've used tcode: SU21 and SU22 to chec the affected tcode: FD01 .
    I've also checked and analyzed authorization object F_KNA1_AEN and have configured a dummry role for testing in QAS.
    Authorization package in the dummy role:
    -> Maintained Customer: Change Authorization for Certain Fields            F_KNA1_AEN
    ->  Maintained Customer: Change Authorization for Certain Fields            T-QS25298300
    ->   Field group                VGRUP
    For Field group (VGRUP), I'm able to define the "Object Type": D for Customers, but I do not know what is the value for "Field Group"
    Please kindly advice how can this be done.
    Thank you.
    Cheers.

  • Need expertise opinion on ADF custom BackEnd implementation

    Hi all,
    Jdeveloepr version: Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0.
    I am working on an ADF application and trying to go with the following implementations which are currently working fine while unit testing (me alone- single user) . I would like to have a expert opinion as whether this would be a scalable solution for an application which will support multiple users simultaneously . I am very new to ADF framework , so please advice
    -The page are mostly inside bounded taskflows, which are nested and having backing beans are different scope. The backing bean is talking to a service layer (java classes ) to call the Webservice layer few database tables and then integrate and process the data to be shown on the front end.
    (we have decided to opt out of drag and drop technique in ADF, due to some UI design reasons and large Webservice calls, though it is possible as mentioned by some experts)
    The questions are based on the Database interaction, we have created an appmodule which has several VOs abased on entity objects and accessing them programmatically from the service layer like
    1. Get the appmoduleDatacontrol via the id name in Databindings.cpx and get corresponding VO implementation classes to invoke custom methods written inside. How good would be the connection pooling and state management of the application modue in production environments.
    2. for insertion - we call createROW on VO implementation and call an commit on the row implementation classes after adding detials to the new row.
    3. for select op- we create filter criteria on the view and apply them programmatically to get the rows.
    4. for update- get the row using the filters VO and manipulate the row using RowImpl classes and do a commit on then. (a commit on VO or commit on RowImpl, which would be better?)
    Any pointers to tutorials/Blogs related optimizing and testing this implemtnation to this would be really helpful.

  • ADF Custom error handler not working.

    Hi All,
    i am using jdev version 11.1.1.5.0. i have created one custom error handler class in model layer which extend DcErrorHandlerImpl class.
    and do the entry in Databinding.cpx file
    *<Application ErrorHandlerClass="mypackage.classname"/>*
    i have override getDisplayMessage(BindingContext ctx, Exception ex) method to show SQL Exception which comes from database table trigger.
    code is following-
    package com.in.jagran.view.services;
        import java.sql.SQLException;
        import oracle.adf.model.BindingContext;
        import oracle.adf.model.binding.DCErrorHandlerImpl;
        import oracle.jbo.JboException;
        public class AclasErrorHandler extends DCErrorHandlerImpl {
          public AclasErrorHandler(boolean setToThrow) {

            System.out.println("Inside Error Handler class");

           * Returning "null" is the way the custom error handler signals that a given exception
           * should not be reported to the client.
          @Override
          public String getDisplayMessage(BindingContext ctx, Exception ex)
            if (ex instanceof oracle.jbo.ValidationException) {

    thanks in Advance.

    yes i have used dubugger.
    i have set break point to following line-
    return super.getDisplayMessage(ctx, ex);
    if (ex instanceof oracle.jbo.ValidationException) {
            return super.getDisplayMessage(ctx, ex);
    }when atttribute validation done like i have attribute of type number and i have done the validation "must be greater than 0" now when i have given negative value control go to above line.
    and i have added following code also in handler class
            @Override
               public void reportException(DCBindingContainer dCBindingContainer,
                                           Exception exception) {
    System.out.println(exception.getMessage());
                       super.reportException(dCBindingContainer, exception);

  • Customed maintenance view and assign T-Code

    Hello SAP exports,
    I have one question needs your help!
    We do not want the end users to maintenance V_T008 table directly by using SM30 in PRD.
    Therefore, I copy V_T008 view and create a custom view ZV_T008 by using SE11.
    The purpose is to create a maintenance view (ZV_T008) and assign a new T-Code in order to let user allows to maintenace ONLY in V_T001C table in PRD without using SM30.
    Is above the solution workable?
    I know how to assign a program to a new T-Code by using T-Code SE93.
    But, I do not know how to assign a maintenance view (ZV_T008) to a new T-Code.
    Please help.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Sylvia Chen

    Great thanks for the tips!
    Now I can run T-Code and SAP display the data table immediately.
    I can modify the data table directly without using SM30.
    This is great!
    Two more things need to solve.
    Can SAP only show one of the record of the data table?
    There are 10 records in the data table.
    The user ONLY needs to modify one record when the ZV_T008-ZAHLS = "K".
    The other thing needs to solve is following:
    when user inputs T-Code, SAP display the data table immediately.
    But, the description field (ZV_T008-TEXTL) is able to modify.
    How can I make this field become not able to modify?
    If you can provide the above solution, it will make me a very Merry Christmas!

  • ADF custom binding for given service data model

    hi
    I have this business service that has a given data model. I would like to bind ADF Faces components to this data model.
    two examples:
    (1) The data model has a date attribute somewhere that holds the date of when something has been "checked"/"approved". The user interface should present this information as a regular checkbox.
    (2) The data model has some attribute as "multilingual text". It is like a regular text attribute, but the text (data) has been translated. The user interface should present this information as a regular text input field, but depending on some "selected"/"current" language.
    I looked at this example from Steve Muench about custom binding:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/custombinding/CustomAttrBindingClass.zip
    I have found some "solution" to implement the kinds of custom binding I need:
    http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/CustomBindingStuff-v0.08.zip
    (Check the README.txt file.)
    I extend JUCtrlAttrsDef and JUCtrlAttrsBinding, introduce a ConversionProxyRule interface and added meta-data to the <x>PageDef.xml files.
    JDeveloper shows warnings like these in the "Compiler - Log", but it all seems to work fine:
    Warning(55,62): <Line 55, Column 62>: XML-24534: (Error) Element 'NamedData' not expected.- questions:
    (1) Do I really need all this, have I missed some typical approach for this?
    (2) How do I now that "extending" the binding this way, doesn't break in the next JDeveloper release?
    (3) What alternatives are there to approach this kind of "binding requirements"?
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    (1) Is the simplest overall and the solution I myself would do, but given your comments....
    (2) This would be the second easiest, but would involve some delegation, sure.
    (3) Involves creating custom binding objects, which while possible, we don't have much documentation on that
    JDeveloper shows warnings like these in the "Compiler - Log", but it all seems to work fine: Warning(55,62): <Line 55, Column 62>: XML-24534: (Error) Element 'NamedData' not expected.
    This is an XMLSchema validation failure since the schema for the <attributeValues> element in that namespace does not allow <NamedData> children, only the <action> element does. You can extract all the schemas from the adfdt_common.jar file in the ./adfdt/lib directory to have a closer look at that.
    - questions:
    (1) Do I really need all this, have I missed some typical approach for this?
    I mentioned a straightforward approach that in my opinion doesn't qualify as radically altering your data model, but I respect your opinion to see that differently of course. :-)
    The approach I mentioned would be the typical approach for this case.
    (2) How do I now that "extending" the binding this way, doesn't break in the next JDeveloper release?
    There is no 100% guarantee other than the fact that we try our best not to perform breaking changes since keeping upward compatibility is something we've tried to do since the beginning.
    (3) What alternatives are there to approach this kind of "binding requirements"?
    We've discussed the three alternatives above that I can think of. This doesn't preclude others, but those are the first three we both thought of... I hope others chime in with some insights based on there experiences, too.

  • How to add ADF custom Dropdown

    How to create custom dropdown that always load department name from the database using ADF. By dragging that dropdown into jspx page, should load all the departments without any additional coding.

    Vishnu
    The Best way frank suggest you. By this way you will be able to implement your requirement. No need to write Business Logic in any Bean.
    I will explain.
    Step-1 : Create an Application.Tips
    Step-2 : Create the connection(Use the schema name, which has the require table. ex, DepartmentTable). Tips
    Step-3 : Create the Business Components(Entities, ViewObjects).Tips
    Step-4 : Create a home.jspx page.
    Step-5 : Goto DataControl Pallate(View > DataControl Pallate)
    Step-6 : Expend the collection(Ex, DepartmentView)
    Step-7 : Select the required Attribute(Ex, DepartmentName)
    Step-8 : Drag the attribute on the home.jspx page. And select SelectOneChoice.
    Step-9 : Save & Run the application.

  • Calling DOO standard web service in ADF custom order Capture form

    Hi
    I am trying to call the standard DOO web service in my ADF form and I am using web service data control to call that service. But when I am dragging and drooping the method in my page with the parameters needed for that particular method and try to run the page. Its giving a null pointer exception. The main parameter for that method is _payload which wants an EBM to be passed to it.
    DOO is a distributed Order Orchestration which is part of SCM fusion module. In fusion we can capture the order from different places from a legacy system from an EBS or any other application and then that captured order is passed to
    DOO of fusion by calling a standard web service. But we don't have a order capture form built in ADF from where we can enter order and then pass this info to the DOO web service.
    EBM is Enterprise business message,it is an xml format file which is passed to the DOO of fusion.It accept only EBM format xml in which capture order data is dere with EBM header and the data area which contains the order information.
    The name of the method in web service which is called in j developer is SalesOrderOrchestrationService_pt_SubmitTransformAssignLaunch(__payload). payload is the parameter which accepts the EBM file.
    The sample of an EBM or the xml which is passed to this method of web service as a payload is below.

    Can I get a help on this and my question is in j developer when I make a web service data control and drag and drop that method in to my pages submit button with text box taking this EBM or xml as entry and when I submit this its giving a null pointer exception. How can I overcome this.
    Regards
    Satbir Singh

    Hi,
    for complex services like this the recommendation is to use a JAX-WS proxy client, put a POJO in front (wrapper) to access information and methods to expose in the application and create a POJO DC from the wrapper. This not only is more powerful and allows you to intercept data calls, it also gives you a netter option for debugging and error handling in case something fails.

    Hi!
    How to get the user id, logged in Worklist application in a managed bean? I'm creating ADF task form for human task and i have to know which user is logged in.
    Thx!

  • Show or hide ADF custom tab based on user's role

    Hi everyone,
    I have created a custom tab on the self-service interface (OIM 11.1.1.5) which contains two sub-tabs.  I would like to show or hide one of the sub-tabs based on the role of the currently logged in user.   Does anyone know of way to achieve this?
    Thank you very much!
    Paul

    Figured it out.  Here's how to do it:
    Scenario:
    You are working in OIM 11.1.1.x.   You create a custom tab on the self-service page.  This tab should only be visible to users with a certain role, say XYZ.
    Step 1:  Create a Boolean variable in the managed bean that will be true if the user has the role, false otherwise.
    Step 2:  Create a class called CurrentUser or something along those lines that will grab the logged in user's roles and test to see if he/she has the required role.  It should set a variable within the class to true or false.  Or you can skip creating a class and put this code in your managed bean constructor so that it runs as soon as the user goes looking for the tab.  The whole point of this, regardless of how you do it, is to end up with a Boolean variable that is set to true or false depending on the role requirements.
    Step 3:  In your .jsff file (the one with the tab you want to show/hide in it), find the tab and look for an attribute named "rendered."  This will likely be located in your <af:showDetailItem> tag under your <af:panelTabbed> tag.  This controls whether or not the tab is displayed.  So set the rendered value to the value of the boolean you created earlier, like this:
    rendered=#{somebeanname.yourbooleanvariablename}"
    Hence, when your variable is false, this tab will not be shown.  If it's true, they will see the tab.  That's all there is to it. :-)

  • Table Maintenance(SM30) not working for a custom View..

    Hi,
    I have the below case which is not working at the moment.
    we have standard table T024 and the requirement is to update the table directly in production. To update the standard table i have created a custom maintenance view on this table and created a table maintenance generator for custom view.
    In maintenace status tab of view i have maintened below information:
    Access                                                 read, change, delete and insert
    Delivery class                                       A
    Data Browser/Table View Maint.         Display/ Maintenance allowed
    The table maintenace generator has been also created but when trying to modify it is giving below message
    "Client 210 has status 'not modifiable"
    We have two clients in dev server 200 -for development
                                                            210 - for development testing
    In development it is working but in development testing client and in quality it is not working.
    Can you please help me as to why we are getting the above message?
    Best Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
    That is coming because of the Table Maintainance Generator Settings. You have to chose no, or user, recording routine then system will not generate any request and you can update the data. This is actually a BASIS settings in SCC4, so that for customizing tables system should not generate any request.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Faheem.
