ADF: Declarative Components Export ..Listener is not exporting table
Hi All,
I have a Declarative Toolbar having an Export Button with ExportCollection ActionListener,
But when I use this component in pages I am not getting the table exported.
When I click on the button It throws a message
1. <ExportCollectionActionListener><processAction> Exported collection with the ID of: t1 was not found.
or
2. <ExportCollectionActionListener><processAction> Exported collection with the ID of: ::t1 was not found.
If I use the same component (ExportCollectionActionListener) in the page itself, It will work properly and export the table..
On both ExportCollectionActionListener EXportedId I have set the ExportedID as t1.
But the Declarative component is not working...
Pls help.......
Hi,
this issue is known as of Re: Export table from Declarative Component (on a page fragment)
Today I tested the testcase that I received and could reproduce the problem. The issue seems to be caused by the way the export listener looks for the component having the collection defined. I asked the original filer to file a bug with customer support so he gets a chance to get his name to it (so he can see the bug). If he can't then I'll go ahead and do it myself

Modifying SQL used by ADF Business components
How can we modify the query used by ADF Business components that are generated from database tables by dnd in JDeveloper?
I would like to change the where clause at runtime based on some configuration that can be changed while application is up and running. Can I just over ride the getWhereClause of the ViewObjetcImpl for that?

Strange things have been happening with my research into declarative components.
1. declarative component cannot be used the within the same project it is defined. only in a separate project which consumes it as an adflib
2. periodically, in the componentdef property inspector for my declarative component would miss displaying all values I defined for "Facet Definitions, Method Signature, Methods". Closer inspection of the code reveals that somehow, the afc tags disappeared! so the code for something like a method attribute would look like:
<method-attribute>
<attribute-name>
commit
</attribute-name>
<method-signature>
void method(javax.faces.event.ActionEvent)
</method-signature>
</method-attribute>
...instead of:
<afc:method-attribute>
<afc:attribute-name>
commit
</afc:attribute-name>
<afc:method-signature>
void method(javax.faces.event.ActionEvent)
</afc:method-signature>
</afc:method-attribute>
...3. during design time, the ActionListener attribute of a button (in the declarative component definition) shows up under "warning node" and states "Reference comp.nameofactionlistener" not found.
Code will run but there are many warnings similar to this.
anyone else on 11.1.2.3 have similar issues working with declarative components? i'm trying to find steps to reproduce but havent stumbled upon it yet.Wes,
1) is documented at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/web.111230/e16181/af_reuse.htm#autoId21
2) and 3) I personally have not stumbled upon, but if you have a reproducible test case you should open an SR or make an entry in the ADFEMF issue tracker (http://java.net/jira/browse/ADFEMG side is currently down :()

ADF visualization components not showing in a region
I have a task-flow of JSF fragments, when I visit a page with adf visualization components they are not showing. I call:
region.queueActionEventInRegion(getMethodExpression(methodExpression),
null, null, false, -1, -1,
PhaseId.ANY_PHASE);
They dont show even iif I call
AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(getRegion());
Only loads when I collapse a panel - which suggests they are there, loaded. Just not showing.Hi,
if you want to refresh a region then either you call the refresh method exposed on the region or configure the Task Flow binding refresh condition to #{1==} (for always to refresh) in addition to the PPR refresh.
The first of your method really has nothing to do with region refresh and is for a different usecase

ADF Mobile: Templates, Reusable regions, Declarative components
Hi,
Unfortunately the developer guide has no mention about how to create page templates, re-usable regions, and declarative components. Does ADF Mobile currently support them? Please shed some light.
Thanks

But you can use the deploy as feature to develop reusable features that can be shared among applications.

Hi All,
We have a number of declarative components that we are utilizing within our ADF implementation, I am trying to create one of those components in a similar fashion to how I create a Rich Input Text (for example)
RichInputText text = new RichInputText();
panelForm.getChildren().add(text);
This doesn't seem to work if I replace the "RichInputText" with "MyDecComp" class, where the declarative component doesn't render. Is there any way to achieve the same outcome with the declarative component as the normal JSF / ADF component.
Looking forward to your reply.

Younis

ADF 11g Declarative Components
Declarative components rock! now is there a way to use them with a managed bean, for example click a button to load a table of data. After you wire this up with the managed bean, partial rendering and deploy as library it will work in a new project as a new component. However the partial submit and trigger doesn't seem to stick. It does a full page submit. Is there a solution for this???
thanks.Hi,
I have a DC, which contains a panelCollection with a toolbar and buttons in it. The panelCollection's child is a facetRef. On a consuming page I insert into the facet a table.
How can I get the toolbar's buttons get updated, once the table's contents have changed?
Particularly, disabled properties of the buttons are exposed as attributes of the DC. On the consuming page the attributes are bound to enabled properties of a commit and a rollback binding actions. Initially the buttons are disabled. When I change a cell's value it would be nice, if the buttons would be enabled in response without refreshing the page or invoking an execute on an undelying VO/iterator.

Integrating ADF Business Components from heterogenous data sources
Hi all,
has anybody experience in integrating ADF Business Components from heterogenous data sources like ViewObjects from a DB2 database as LOV in a ViewObject from a Oracle 11g?
What is the best practice approach to integrate such different ADF Business Components in declarative and programmatic ways?
Thank you!thank you for the answer! We already updated out BC according to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/multidatabaseapp-085183.html
The DB2 ViewObjects are exported as ADF Libraries and imported in the BC of the project with Oracle DB ViewObjects. In the root AM I created instances from the imported DB2-ViewObjects as well as from the Oracle-ViewObjects, but when I start AM test environment it takes the preconfigured Data Source of the root AM. So I probably will pesneed to create two AMs for the different ViewObject types and for the two connection types. My question is what will be best practices to use data from the DB2-VO of AM_DB2 in the OracleDB-VOs as part of AM_Oracle? Should it be done only programmatically or can it be done also declaratively and any suggestions how to proceed?
Thank you!

Need help to create export table procedure
Hi,
I have created a procedure, which may use to do following things:
1. first create a duplicate table of sys.aud$ records
2. export that duplicate table
here I am enclosing my code:
1. create or replace procedure crt_tab
2. is
3. sqlstring varchar2(100);
4. tablename varchar2(100);
5. sys_date varchar2(100);
6. h1 number;
7. begin
8. select to_char(sysdate,'DDMMYYYY_HH12MISSAM') into sys_date from dual;
9. tablename :='AUDIT_RECORD_'||sys_date;
10. sqlstring := 'create table ' || tablename|| ' as select * from sys.aud$';
11. execute immediate sqlstring;
12. h1 := dbms_datapump.open(operation=>'EXPORT',job_mode=>'TABLE',job_name=>NULL,version=>'COMPATIBLE');
13. dbms_datapump.add_file(handle =>h1, filename =>tablename||'.dmp',directory =>'AUDIT_RECORD', filetype =>1);
14. dbms_datapump.add_file(handle =>h1,filename =>tablename||'.log',directory =>'AUDIT_RECORD',filetype =>3);
15. dbms_datapump.metadata_filter(h1,'NAME_LIST','(''tablename'')');
16. dbms_datapump.start_job(h1);
17. dbms_output.put_line('Data Pump job started successfully');
18. end;
Well, in line number 15. I am passing a variable tablename as a parameter to dbms_datapump.metadata_filter but it exporting an empty dump. Could you please let me know how to pass a variable value in this.
looking forward to your early response.

Is there a way for my CVI project to reference the functions in the ActiveX without including the instrument .fp in the project?
Thanks much.
I'm confused on how CVI uses ActiveX components and hope someone can help.
I'm using an ActiveX driver from an instrument manufacturer and I use the .TLB to generate a .fp, .c, and .h file. If I register the .dll and load the .fp in my project, all is well. Unfortunately in my application the functions to control this instrument are in another DLL whose .lib I include in my CVI projec
t. Running the CVI project this way gives me "The procedure entrypoint ssSr192x__ssSr192drvssSrReset could no be located in the dynamic link library ssSR192x.dll" because the instrument function names aren't in the export table in the instrument DLL. Non-ActiveX DLLs have the export tables so everything works for them.
Program structure with non-ActiveX DLLs:
CVI project (.exe with common.lib in project list)
|
V
Common DLL (MeasDMM() with hp1234.lib in project list)
|
V
Instrument DLL (hp1234_measure())
Since I get a .c and .h file from the .TLB, I've tried recompiling the DLL (.dll and .lib produced) and the functions seem to work, but I get "Class not registered" errors unless I play games with the registry so I'm obviously violating numerous Microsoft rules!
Is there a way for my CVI project to reference the functions in the ActiveX without including the instrument .fp in the project? Thanks much.
Jeff Fish
Advisory Test Engineer
StorageTekHello Jeff,
Where were your getting the .lib file for the ActiveX DLL? Did you use the "hp1234"
ActiveX driver generated by the "Create ActiveX Automation Controller" CVI Tool to build a static library? If you open an include file and choose Options >> Generate DLL..., it will generate source code or a static import library to load the specified DLL and load functions specified in the include file (this only works if the functions are exported from a DLL). However, in the case of our ActiveX Automation Controllers, ActiveX calls are used to access a DLL. This means that you do not need an import library. You should be able to open the "hp1234" source file and click Options >> Create Object File. Simply #include "hp1234.h" and add "hp1234.obj" to your Common DLL project;
the .fp file is not necessary. If this does not answer your questions or if you experience further difficulty, please post further details on what you are doing and the errors that are being encountered ("play games with the registry" and "recompiling 'the' DLL" are a bit vague in this case).

Lightweight alternative to Declarative Components?
Hi,
Is there a simpler, lighter way to extract part of an ADF page into a re-usable tag that can be used instead of the Declarative Components feature?
In my application, I have a table which displays some data from a VO. Some columns are links, and there are also various buttons in and around the table that allow the user to perform a set of common actions on the table contents. I don't want to have to replicate this into all my various pages, I want to extract this into a reusable 'tag'.
This is not a component that will be useful throughout the organisation, it's just a simple component that will be used a few times in this one application. My first idea was to use the ADF declarative component feature, but this requires deployment of a seperate JAR. I've followed various tutorials now on creating a jar then including it into my project, but I haven't succeeded so far (for some reason the jar I create doesn't seem to contain the Declarative Components I have defined). Can I not simply define some components in my own application and use them within that application without the JAR deployment step?
I've also tried going the JSP tag route, but I need to pass objects such as the backing bean and the view object iterator to the tag and when I try and add a tag attribute with deferredValue="true", I get an error from the app server like:
/WEB-INF/tags/attachments.tagx: Line # 9, <jsp:directive.attribute name="backingBean" required="true" deferredValue="true" type="java.lang.Object" xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page"/>
Error: Invalid attribute "deferredValue", for the attribute directive with name " backingBean " when the tld version is not 2.1

at oracle.jsp.parse.JspParseTag.genXMLSrcTag(JspParseTag.java:919)Even though my implicit.tld does have version="2.1".
My third and final idea was to create a jsff and include it in the page via f:subview and jsp:include, however I can then only pass string type parameters (jsp:param) to the fragment. This isn't adequate, since I need to pass backing bean, view object iterator, etc.
Surely I'm missing an easy way to do this. Any ideas?I've now succeeded in creating a Declarative Components library and importing those components into my project. It's a rather long winded process but if it works I guess it'll do.
I've created a component called 'attachments', but I'm now getting the following exception when attempting to use the components in my page:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: MDS-00013: no metadata found for metadata object "/components/attachments.jspx"

...Another post on the forum says the solution is to create a pageDef file for the jspx, however I can't create a pageDef for a component as far as I can tell.
Is there a solution here? Can MDS and Declarative Components be used together?

Is there a way to suppress warnings in FlexPMD?
In PMD there is the @SuppressWarnings java annotation that can be used to suppress all or individual warnings in a class. Is there anything similar that can be added in an AS or MXML file with FlexPMD?
