ADF Faces & BC: Programmatic selection of row within a selectonechoice

OK i did some printouts and it looks like its occuring on this line:
diseaseDescriptionLOVVo.findByKey(new Key(keyValues), -1);
Is there a better way to do this selection?

findByKey only works when you are passing the exact primary Key of the row, you can also try using findByAltKey and try to specify an alternate key at the VO level.

  • ADF Faces Table with a Total row calculated?

    Hi there OTN Community:
    I have another doubt.
    I have an EJB dataControl, and i use one of his collections to display the data in an ADF Faces Table. One of the columns of the Adf Faces Table is numeric, And i have to display the Total of that Column.
    I only shows 10 rows per screen, but i need to show the total of all the rows.
    How i can calculate it?

    Mmmmm..... You're right!...I will try that.
    Thanx :)
    Hey, and....You know? i was thinking, maybe i can get the iterator and then capture each object of the iterator to compute the total. That is a crazy idea?, its possible?, its not recommended? or its ok too? :P
    Thanx in advance.

  • Programmatically select multiple rows in DataGrid

    Hello,
    I'm trying to do it for days. How can i select many rows in my DataGrid in the code. In my DataGrid i have rows responsible for folders and files - existing in these folders. When user selects folder row i want to select all rows responsible for files that
    are in that folder. Of course i know which rows should be selected, but the problem is how to do it? I can add that my DataGrid is Binded to ObservableCollection(containing strings with pathes to different directories and files. Please some help.

  • Programmatically selecting some row - selectedItem is null

    Hey guys
    In my application, I have a datagrid that is bound to RemoteObject. The datagrid has a corresponding form that contains the details. When the user clicks on a row in the datagrid the form populates with the values from the DataGrid's selectedItem.
    I want to programatically select some row in my DataGrid when the application loads.
    In order to do this, I have to call validateNow() and scrollToIndex()
    eg.
    dg.selectedIndex = i; dg.validateNow();
    dg.scrollToIndex(i);
    I put this code in the Applications creationComplete handler.
    This all works great - the desired row is highlighted and selected and the selectedIndex is i. The problem is that I can't access the data to populate the details form. When I try to retrieve the dg.SelectedItem property - it is null.
    How does one programatically select some row in the grid on load AND access the row data?
    thanks

    Hey Alex,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I have searched this issue from Bug and Issue Management System.I did find a similar bug in <mx:List> ,see SDK-4782,But not Datagrid.I'm using SDK 3.2,is there any way to resolve it?

  • How do you programmatically select TabBar VC within the MORE section?

    Can anyone help me figure out how to programmatically select a view controller that is beyond the main 4 tabs in a TabBarController? Usually you can use:
    tabBarController.selectedIndex = NSUInteger;
    but once you have more than 5 Tabs, you get the "More" tab as #5 and the others go into their own TableView. If you try to change selectedIndex to any # > 4 you get an NSRange error.
    I have tried the following workaround unsuccessfully:
    UIViewController *desiredVC = [[tabBarController.viewControllers] objectAtIndex:5];
    tabBarController.selectedViewController = desiredVC;
    where tabBarController is a UITabBarController;
    Still no go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I came up with this solution:
    [self.tabBarController.moreNavigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:NO];
    [self.tabBarController setSelectedIndex:4];
    [self performSelector:@selector(selectMore:) withObject:newViewController afterDelay:0.1f];
    - (void) selectMore:(UIViewController *)controller
    [self.tabBarController.moreNavigationController pushViewController:controller animated:NO];
    It's does the job, but the "More..." list is shortly displayed before the newViewController is displayed.
    Is there another way to handle this problem?

  • Difficulty with ADF Faces/ADF Essentials and Glassfish

    Hi all,
    I've got a web application written with ADF Faces, and it runs just fine within jDeveloper 11.1.2.3 but when I deploy it to Glassfish 3.1.2 (with ADF Essentials installed) something curious happens.
    My application has no difficulty performing database reads, but when it tried to write to the database and commit, it fails.
    I've seen only a couple of other people with this problem, and none of them seem to have found a solution - so I'm assuming it's something stupid that I'm doing or misunderstanding.

    it fails on the second appModule.commitOperation() (which I've bolded)
    if anyone can give a clue to what I'm misunderstanding I'd really appreciate it.  I'm sure that if I had the course for BaseSQLBuilderImpl.java and/or DBTransactionImpl it would be easier to see what the actual error was - unfortunately java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError cannot be cast to java.lang.Exception doesn't tell me much of anything.
    Thanks so much to anyone who's got the time/knowledge to help.
    Bob

    That doesn't seem to make any difference.  It works just fine within jDeveloper, but as soon as I deploy it, I can no longer write to the database.
    A few more details that seem relevant - it's not only this method that fails.  Even on screens which were designed without any backing code (where I used the wizards to create my forms and commit buttons) the same exact thing happens.
    I've also replicated this behavior in Tomcat.
    Part of what is happening is that something is throwing a NoClassDefFoundError, which is caught by a catch (Throwable thEx) clause within DBTransactionImpl.  This passes the Error to a method (isSQLRecoverableException) within the BaseSQLBuilderImpl class.  The problem is that this method takes only Exceptions for arguments, and NoClassDefFoundError is not a subclass of Exception (only of Throwable.)
    It seems obvious to me that there's somewhere a jar missing, but I cannot find it without knowing which class was not found.

  • OBE : ADF Faces in Model project

    hi
    The tutorial "Examining ADF Business Components New Features"
    at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/adfbc_new_features/adfbc.html
    says, in its "Create a New Application and Project" section, to "... set the project name to Model, and in the Project Technologies tab, shuttle ADF Faces into the Selected pane ..."
    The screenshot ADFFacesInModelProject.png shows how both ADF Business Components and ADF Faces are part of the Model project.
    - (q1) Why would it be a good idea to have both ADF Business Components and ADF Faces in the same JDeveloper project?
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    The screenshot ADFFacesInModelProject.png shows how both ADF Business Components and ADF Faces are part of the Model project.Can't see any valid reason why. For what the article is trying to do , there isn't any valid reason to add Faces libs to the model project.
    Not that there's a technical limitation to this - but looks like a mistake (also causes deployment issues).
    - (q1) Why would it be a good idea to have both ADF Business Components and ADF Faces in the same JDeveloper project?if it's some ugly throaway test code.
    Not in production code anyway.

    You're here in the Sun JSF forum, not in the Oracle JSF forum.
    Try here: JDeveloper and ADF
    If the ADF datatable is technically comparable with the RI datatable, check http://balusc.xs4all.nl/srv/dev-jep-dat.html to get some insights how to retrieve the selected row object.

  • How can I programmatically select row to edit in ADF - 11g

    Hello,
    I'm having a table with rowSelection="single" and editingMode="clickToEdit". Currently i'm facing two issues.
    First issue: the first click on a table row makes the row selected, on second click it becomes editable. If I click on another row it gets selected, but previously selected row remains editable. I would like to change this, so when I select another row, the previously selected one to become read-only again. By now, I didn't find any solution to set programmatically the 'editable' state of a row.
    The second issue might be a bug and is related to deleting an editable row. I select a row, click to edit it, and then delete it. The next row get's selected, but clicking on it to edit, has no effect unless I press the 'ESC' select another row before. Does anyone have a tip how to workaround it?
    Thank you very much!
    Eniko

    try adding this method in the table selectionListener.
    public void table1_selectionListener(SelectionEvent selectionEvent) {
        public String getCurrentRow() {
            BindingContainer bindings = getBindingsForDCB();
            RichTable table=table1;
            DCIteratorBinding outListIter = getBindingsForDCB().findIteratorBinding("outlistOutIterator");
            RowKeySet rowSet = table.getSelectedRowKeys();
            Iterator rowKeySetIter = rowSet.iterator();
            while (rowKeySetIter.hasNext()) {
                    List l = (List) rowKeySetIter.next();
                    Key key = (Key)l.get(0);
                    outListIter.setCurrentRowWithKey(key.toStringFormat(true));
                    Row r = outListIter.getCurrentRow();
            return null;
        }

  • ADF Faces 10g af:table row selection using SHIFT Key

    Hello,
    Is there a simple way in 10G af:table with multiple selection facet to enable selecting multiple rows of a table by selecting one row, holding the SHIFT key down, selecting another row way down, and having all the rows in the middle be automatically selected?
    So, this is essentially equivalent to "Select Range" Capability.
    Thank you for any information.

    I think the simple answer to your question is, no.
    In 11g, I think the answer is, yes; but you probably already knew that.
    You might consider altering the keySet associated with the table related to the multi-select checkbox facet. You could have some section above the table that selects these check boxes based on some entered filter criteria. The keySet is a little weird though. You might check out its usage in SRDemo Application Module Impl class code which deletes over this keyset, and work backwards from there.

  • ADF Faces & BC JDeveloper 10.1.3.4: af:menuTab in multiple rows.

    Hi all,
    We have a dynamic menu design in our application that is defined within the faces-config.xml file. The menu tabes are rendered in a single row, are there any ways to split these tabs into multiple rows (as more are necessary)?

  • Programmatically selecting row in af:table

    I have an instance of the <af:table> component that points to a value on a managed bean of type List<MyValueType>.
    I need to make the <af:table> have a preselected row, and I have the value of type MyValueType that represents the row I need selected.
    How do I programmatically select the appropriate row in the table?
    Thanks!

    Hi Rune,
    1) Expose the adf table to a managed bean property by using @binding attribute, say, requestScope. The property should be RichTable type.
    2) Create a method in java class which can find the managed bean created in step 1) by using EL expression and calling its RichTable.setRowKey(int) to set the current row. Other row currency method are also available besides setRowIndex(int).
    3) Create Data Control on the java class you created in step 2)
    4) Insert the method created in step 2) into <bindings> as methodAction in page definition file.
    5) Still in page definition file, insert an invokeAction into <executables> to invoke the method action created in step 4)
    6) Reorder the invokeAction created in step 5), place it below the table's <iterator>
    7) Set the @refresh attribute for the table <iterator> and <invokeAction> if you want, for example: "prepareModel"
    -Or-
    You can implement a custom page lifecycle to achieve the goal.

  • ADF Faces table selection from commandLink?

    I'm using the ADF faces table component and would like to allow my users to make a selection out of the table from a click onto a commandLink rather than using the tableSelection facets. How can I determine the row they have clicked on?
    Thanks for any help,

    Hello
    Sorry to restart this thread again, but if i do table.getRowData() i don't get any rows, the rowcount remains 0, but my table contains many data rows.
    Is there anybody who knows what the reason can be?
    thx
