ADF FACES ea17 vs JDeveloper 10.1.3: not show the component's pictures

Hi!
My JDeveloper 's "live rendering" function not work perfectly on linux platform but
it work perfectly on windows platform. :(
My problem is:
- the live rendering works but the component's pictures not appear ... instead a little red X :(
What is the problem? :(

I think the problem is a tmp directory handing ....
I compared my Debian linux's /tmp directory and Windows /Documents and Settings/Local...../Temp directory,
and both the same ... the components' images is in these directory ...
Any idea?
or it is work perfectly on Linux platform to all men?

  • Jdeveloper visual editor do not show images and other component shapes

    I used jdeveloper(10.1.3.3.0) to create an ADF BC application, I create a jsf jsp file and drag and drop components from ADF Faces Core to this file visual editor, but jdeveloper visual editor do not show images and other component shapes.
    Could you tell me how I can fix this problem?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Actually, I need to make a dummy change to the jsp file and then it will display boxes representing the objects in the visual editor whereas I get an exception in the log:
    javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Cannot find FacesContext
    This does not talk much to me !
    Thanks

  • JDeveloper 10g, ADF Faces & BC: setVar method on CoreTable is not working

    Hi all,
    I am in the process of creating a custom tag library for our organization. I seem to be having problems with the setVar method on the CoreTable component. I created a simple reproducible example using the scott/tiger schema. Within my tabletest.jsp, I have a af:table which was created via dragging from the datacontrol pallet. Next, I add my custom tag and set the same value attribute. When I run the page, #{row.Deptno} does not evaluate to anything! However, I know that the value is set properly due to the same number of rows appearing within my custom table tag.
    Suggestions are appreciated.
    thanks,
    Wes

    you don't mention a JDeveloper version. If you are not on a recent version, can you try one. If it reproduces, please provide steps required for a reproducible test case

  • Adf faces tutorial - Toplink model is out of sync with the database.

    When running the adf faces tutorial I encountered some problems. The starter workspace uses toplink and the model should be based on the OE schema database objects. However the Customers class is different from the database table, especially the custAddress (but also the phoneNumbers).
    Thus when running the application, the creation and update of a customer (with data for the address) raises the following error:
    javax.faces.FacesException: #{ManageCustomers.doUpdate}: javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: Exception [TOPLINK-4002] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Developer Preview 3 (10.1.3.0 ) (Build 041116)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException
    Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected OE.CUST_ADDRESS_TYP got CHAR
    Error Code: 932
    Besides, the application is not able to display the address properly (due to the same problem) but shows something like: oracle.sql.STRUCT@43e and it cannot display the order_date (timestamp with timezone) correct.
    I get the impression that the toplink model is based on an old or modified OE schema and has not been updated. I like the tutorial, but I would appreciate it when it is correct and does not contain such flaws as descibed. Please update the workspace.

    Ship missing arch files to the standby arch dest manually and initiate recovery of the standby db.No need to regenerate the controlfiles. You might want to investigate the reason why they were not sent to the standby db.

  • Web services entry in the JDeveloper "New Gallery" Wizard not showing all

    Hi all,
    I just started development to call a web service using jdev 10.1.3.1.3984 ADF BC from the backing bean of a jsf page. Following the "How-to access username and password protected Java EE Web services from ADF" by Frank Nimphius, I started to create the Web service data control project from the Web services entry in the JDev "New Gallery" wizard. From the >Business Tier>Web Services>, the only "Available Items" is UDDI Registry Connection. When I select "All Items", all the other items show as unavailable.
    How do I make available all the other items?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul.

    Yes, I did. I created a new application as "ADFWithWebServices" and then tried to create the "WebServicesDataControlModel" and the wizard showed the items as unavailable.

  • ADF FACES: EA17 selectInputDate arrows no longer display

    Hi,
    Ever since upgrading to EA17, date selectors no longer correctly render the left and right month naviagtion arrows - we just get a broken image link icon (clicking still works fine though) , I checked out the URL for the image and it is now ./adf/images/cache/null instead of a valid image URL. Used to work fine on EA15. Please advise if this is a bug
    code snippet:
    <af:selectInputDate
         styleClass="normalDate"
         label="#{messages.ipbBuySellTrade_tradeDate}"
         simple="true"                              value="#{ipbBuySellEntryController.ipbBuySellEntryBean.tradeDateObject}"
         disabled="#{ipbBuySellEntryController.guiFieldsDisabled}"/>
    Thanks
    James

    We can't reproduce this locally (and QA would certainly have caught this were it happening everywhere). The only thing I can imagine is that you might have some files that need to be cleaned up in the appserver's cache. Where that cache is depends on the appserver; in OC4J, it's inside j2ee/home/application-deployments, and in Tomcat it's inside work/Catalina/localhost.
    Look for the temporary files in there, delete 'em, and see what happens when you restart.

  • Suggestions needed for ADF Faces & JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 af:menu

    Hi all,
    We are running out space on our top level menu items and was curious if anyone has alternatives for a dynamic menu structure built using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4. Here is what our screen looks like:
    Any suggestions are much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Wes

    Hi again Wes,
    If you want to keep using the ADF Faces menus... get a larger screen? :P
    Seriously, though, [url http://www.simplica.com/menu.htm]Simplica has an interesting-looking menu component that perhaps you could use (it looks much like the ADF Faces Rich Client menus). I've not tried the components, but have seen them - no idea if they would work "well" with ADF Faces.
    Best,
    John

  • ADF Faces EA19 - showDetailItem tabs arbitrarily change their order

    Hello everyone,
    newly I updated ADF Faces EA17 to EA19 and have got following problem:
    The order of ShowOneTab children components are changing their order arbitrarily, i.a.
    if I define
    <af:showOneTab>
    <af:showDetailItem text="My Tasks" binding="#{WorkListPageBean.taskListTab}">
    </af:showDetailItem>
    <af:showDetailItem text="Delegated Tasks" binding="#{WorkListPageBean.taskDelegTab}">
    </af:showDetailItem>
    <af:showDetailItem text="Task Hierarchy" binding="#{WorkListPageBean.taskHierTab}">
    </af:showDetailItem>
    </af:showOneTab>
    then, at first time the tabs are displayed in correct order:
    MyTasks | Delegated Tasks | Task Hierarchy
    after some time the display order changes to:
    Delegated Tasks | Task Hierarchy | MyTasks
    Any ideas or considerations?
    Thanx,
    OR

    When does this happen? is it while you are using the application or is in a new session ? that kind of info would help me get some where . . .

  • ADF FACES: jdeveloper hangs on opening a .jspx file

    I may not have had this file open since updating to EA13, but I'm not positive. Upon trying to open the file (code below), jdeveloper hangs. It sucks down roughly 50% of the CPU and the memory footprint slowly grows (about 3 MB per minute). As of now, I've tried restarting jdeveloper and then opening the file, but the behavior is the same. I have let it run for nearly 15 minutes and it is still hung (to the point that the display is not redrawn when a window, such as the task manager, is closed after obscuring part of the jdeveloper window).

    Helo there,
    I am having exactly the same problem, everytime I include af:forEach tag inside the af:selectOneChoice for example, preview of JSP is not shown and whole developer hangs, in task manager I can see 100% CPU occupation by JDeveloper.
    But the code itself is ok, if I run the page while editor is in Source mode Page is properly shown in browser, but when I change editor mode to Design it hangs.
    I am using Faces EA17 and JDeveloper 10.1.3
    Does anybody else face the same issue?

  • JDeveloper 11g/ADF Faces Rich Client

    Hello,
    We are trying to decide between using JDeveloper 10.1.4 and JDeveloper 11g for developing a new application - we plan to use just the ADF Faces layer of the ADF Framework along with Spring and TopLink for other layers.
    On one hand we think that is is safer to use 10.x version of ADF Faces as it may be more stable and on the other hand we are tempted to use 11g as it provides Ajax-enabled JSF Components.
    Has anyone used ADF Faces Rich Client Framework for developing applications? Is it stable enought to be used for production-level applications?
    I would love to hear your thoughts!

    Hi,
    don't use 10.1.3.4 to develop a new application now unless you have browser constraints with your user-base.
    ADF Faces RC / 11g requires:
    FireFox 2, 3
    Internet Explorer 7.0
    Safari 3.0
    11g is a significant update and they have vastly improved/redesigned a lot of things that were difficult/complex to do in earlier versions.
    Plus the 11g user interface is way better from a users perspective.

  • How to add adf faces in component pallete of jdeveloper 11g?

    how to add adf faces in component pallete of jdeveloper 11g?

    Hi,
    the replacement of ADF Faces HTML components in JDeveloper 11 is Trinidad. For existing applications, a migration path will be provided in JDeveloper 11 production. I wouldn't recommend configuring ADF Faces in JDeveloper 11.
    You an configure ADF Faces Components in JDeveloper 11 by :
    - Tools --> Manage Libraries
    - Create a User Library
    - select ADF Faces adf-faces-impl.jar
    - Enure the namespace is not af or afh but something different to not cnflic with teh ADF Faces RC components
    Note that adding the ADF Faces components to the component palette will not make them show in the ADF binding context menu nor will it automaticaly set up the web.xml file. The components are available as any other JSF library set
    Again, I wouldn't go this way ;-)

  • Build and Extend an ADF Faces Application (ADFDialogFwk-does not compile)

    Has anyone upgraded the "ADFDialogFwk" application to work with Jdeveloper 10.1.3 Early Access 1 ?

    It requires a specific version of ADF Faces ea17 to be downloaded from oracle... of course as of today this version is upgraded to ea19 when you check for updates
    maybe this is the problem with my Jdeveloper..
    Did you try to compile it with Jdev 10.1.3 AE ?
