ADF Image from BLOB Table Column

Does anybody know how to show an image on a JSP page based on a Blob Column through ADF Binding ?
I've seen a post which reference the use of <adf:render model="Row.image"/>. However this doesn't seem to work.

hi, Guys:
I need to load thumbnail images from BLOB to multiple markers' infowindow in Google map . I have implemented Google map in APEX. I load the data suchas text for every marker's infowindow from Oracle database table with PL/JSON, and infowindow works fine. Could anyone give me a suggestion or example so I know how to load images to javascript?

I did not find any method in PL/JSON to pass image object)? So far I only found example to load images from local files to javascript.Hmm..I don't think you should load image objects.

Problem Displaying image from blob

Hi all,
I m using,
Database : 10g Rel 2
Frontend : DevSuite 10g
OS : WinXp
Browser : IE 6
Problem : In my forms i m displaying images from blob column but some of the images are not displayed. I have tried with all image formats available in combination with all available display quality but no luck. What could be the reason for it and how do i solve it?
Can anyone help me plz?

It is very difficult for us to "guess" what images you can read and what others you cannot.
Maybe you could provide more information on images that are not displayed ?
What is their native format ?

How to test BLOB Table Column in BCBrowser??

Hi,
My requirement is to upload a file(pdf,doc,jpg, txt) into DB using ADF.
I use, Jdev 11.1.1.6, Oracle 10g XE.
For this, I created the following
1. A table as MyFilesTab(ID Number, FileName Varchar2(80), File BLOB)
2. An Entity Object MyFilesEO on MyFilesTab.
3. Generated a default view object: MyFilesVO
4. Application Module : TestAM with view instance "MyFiles"
But When I run TestAM, I see MyFiles as an Input textbox. So I cannot able to add a file that will be stored in my Table.
Please help me out.

Displaying image from database table.

Hi All,
   I am very new to Web Dynpro ABAP.
I am developing an application to display an image in "Image" UI Element.
For this I have one table consisting of fields image id, image data and image name. here image id is primary key field.
Now i want to display an image from that table in "Image" UI Element. For this i am using "Filedown load" UI element.
But by using filedownload ui element i can diaplay image in another new page.
But my requirement is to display image in the same web page without creating a new one.
(I want to display the image in "Image" UI element without storing that image in MIME objects.)
Can anyone help me.

What you describe is completely possible. Since you have the image data (XSTRING) in the context you have everything you need. You don't need to store the content into the MIME Repository, but you do need to get it somewhere where it has an externally accessible URL. Remember you need to supply image UI element with a URL. This URL is processed on the client side by the web browser. Therefore just giving it a path to the context won't work as that isn't externally accessible.
I would suggest instead that you place the image content into the ICM cache temporarily. This lets you basically generate a temporary URL for the image that can be used by the Image UI element.
Here is some example code that pushes images into the ICM Cache:
****Create the cached response object that we will insert our content into

****Create a unique URL for the object

****Cache the URL

How to display images in a table column?

Hi Nitin,
It can be done by adding to the table the Image control (can be found under Advanced Controls in the Compose panel).
In the URL property (in the Configure panel of the Image control) you can define any expression that will return the image URL. For example:
="http://hosting.site.url/"&@ImageNameField

Is there some tutorial or sample code how to display a image froma blob field in oracle reports?

You can create a view and base your report on that view. The view would be something like:
create or replace view my_view as
select my_blob_function() image
from ...In your Report it would just be:
select image
from my_viewNow, I'm not sure if Reports supports png format, though.

Image from BLOB now showed when page cache set

For me i dont thing, this problem occurred. As i checked by setting the page cache to 1 hour. After that images loaded normally as usual.
I tried with my mozilla browser. In which browser you tried, may be your browser fault.

1. Created An oracle table TEST_FORM
with 3 columns

2. Inserted two records

The column result shows as <img src="CCS.show_my_form?p_image_id=#ID#" />
I am unable to display the column image as a link to a proper image photo.
Could you please advise me if I missed anything ?

Maybe the space you have before the ? is causing issues. there shouldn't be any space.
Your procedure looks to be much the same of one that I have.
Have you granted execute on your procedure?
Also, what version DB are you running? This could be another issue: http://daust.blogspot.com/2006/04/xe-calling-stored-procedures.html
But anyway, you don't need to create your own procedure these days. You could do the following:
in your query, have a column: dbms_lob.getlength(blob) photo ; save, then in column attributes for that column, apply a format mask. There is usually a link below the text box for the format mask - BLOB Download Format Mask, which will help you build the format mask. Retreving Image from Blob in forms 6

I am using forms 6 and oracle 9i.i have an image item and on when_button_press trigger i insert an image into the image_item by calling the read_image_file function and then save that image into the database.it gives me a message that 1 transactoion applied and saved. now i want to to retrived that image from database into form.how should i do it.also how will i know whether my image has been saved or not.when i tried to execute query i got message query caused no records to be retreived.
my table name is test_images and i have one column image(blob)

your test_image table better to have another primary key item like file_id number with table trigger to sequence generating its value for IF INSERTING event, or it will have no handle to get the image back.

I'm not sure if you want the values from the attribute or the element, but this should give you a good start :

Open a Dynamic URL from a Table column link

Jdev Version (11.1.1.6.0)
I have requirement to open a dynamic URL from table column. Any time I click on link, it should generate dynamic URL based on column attribute and open in popup or browser. Can someone pls suggest how to achieve this.

1)If you have any parameters that needs to be passed to build that dynamicURL, just set a propertyListener on the column attribute and get the value.
2)Then on the af:commandLink action, build your dynamicURL with the required parameters.
3) If you URL is all together a different application which doesn't share your transaction, you can open it as below
In the below code, urlWithParams will be your dynamicURL.

How can I recover BFILE images from a table?

I`m a Spanish student, so excuse me for my poor english.
I have used LOB objects to insert images into some tables of a DataBase. However, I have tried to recover the inserted images to put those into a Developer 6 Form, and I haven4t done it.
?Have I need an specific procedure?
?Is There some option in Developer 6 to do it easily?

If you have access to a PC I believe - if memory serves me correctly - that the free download SubRip can rip the highlight overlays back to graphics files from the Menu VOBs
There is a subtitle ripping program for Mac - D-Subtitler - which may do the same job but I have never found it to be as good at ripping stuff as SubRip.
I guess the only other way is if they are not too complex is to recreate the overlays in Photoshop using frame grabs for reference?
