ADFBindingFilter

I want to access to an applicationModule (and then to a ViewObject) in a servlet filter.
public void doFilter(ServletRequest request, ServletResponse response, FilterChain chain) throws IOException, ServletException
HttpSession session = ((HttpServletRequestrequest).getSession();
BindingContext bindingCtx = (BindingContext) session.getAttribute(BindingContext.CONTEXT_ID);
DCDataControl securityDataControl = bindingCtx.getDefaultDataControl();
ViewObject vo = securityDataControl.getApplicationModule().findViewObject("Users");
vo.executeQuery();
Row row = vo.first();
String myAttr = (String)row.getAttribute(2);
System.out.println("-------->>>>>myAttr: " + myAttr);
vo.remove();
chain.doFilter(request, response);
I try the following exception:
oracle.jbo.InvalidOperException: JBO-25048: Operation first is invalid for a working set view object.
Any suggestion?

ADF applications are by default working against BC4J deployed in WorkingSet mode. In this case you need to do a am.sync() after executeQuery() to pull data onto the client side before accessing the rows.

  • ADFBindingFilter error while deploying a war to WLS server using jdev 12c

    I've a OSB Server setup using XBUS_MAIN_GENERIC_120131.1402.S which is using JDEVADF_MAIN_GENERIC_120102.0032.6211.
    Launched the 12c Jdev and created a simple adfc web application with a test.jspx page and deployed in the OSB Server. The web app deployed and could launch the test page.
    I have added the page definition for that test page by 'Go to Page Definition' option.
    Now, If I try to deploy this web app war to the OSB Server, I'm getting the following exception in the jdev (Error1) and in the server log I could see the error (Error2).

    Hello,
    I ran into exactly the same problem. After some source analysis i found that there is just a bug.
    public void init(FilterConfig filterConfig) throws ServletException
    if (JboEnvUtil.inOC4J())
    mOC4JContextRef = new WeakReference(ADFContext.getCurrent().getApplication().getId());
    public void destroy()
    mFilterConfig = null;
    Object context = null;
    if ((context = mOC4JContextRef.get()) != null)
    BindingRequestHandler.destroyApplication(context);
    mOC4JContextRef = null;
    So, it looks like mOC4JContextRef attribute doesn't get initialized if its not oc4j environment, while destroy method thinks that it will never be null.
    As a temporary workaround you can write your own Filter which extends ADFBindingFilter and overrides "destroy" method, which doesn't do anything very special anyway.

    for some reason your web.xml does not have the servlet filter set up. If not I suspect you may have other entries missing. • ADFBindingFilter:getRequestedSessionId() and .getSession().getId() diffen

    Hi all
    To implement a security procedure we are extending ADFBindingFilter and overriding the doFilter() method.
    We have one section of code that performs differently on our apps server compared to running on a local OC4J instance or using the embedded OC4J with JDeveloper.
    The code is as follows.
    String requestedWebSession = ((HTTPServletRequest) request).getRequestedSessionId();
    String currentWebSession = ((HTTPServletRequest) request).getSession().getId();
    Boolean sessionOK = currrentWebSession.equalsIgnoreCase(requestedSession);The code is used to partially determine whether the session requested is valid and works as expected in embedded OC4J with JDeveloper (10.1.3.3) and Standalone. Outputting requestedWebSession and currentWebSession to the console gives two identical session ids on embedded and standalone OC4J.
    When we run the code on the apps server (10.1.3.3) and output the two variables, the session ids are for most part the same however the requestedWebSession consists of the same session id as held by currentWebSession, as well as another hex identifier appended on to the end. So the requestedWebSession is made up of a string that looks like the following:
    “THE_SESSION_ID.SOME_OTHER_IDENTIFIER”.
    This causes the String comparison to fail as it expects the requestedWebSession to be “THE_SESSION_ID”.
    We have a workaround which ensures the entire currentWebSession string exists as part of requestedWebSession String (i.e. is a substring) but we need to ascertain whether this will potentially cause problems during upgrades etc.
    The[b] only difference we can note is that on the application server, our applications are grouped together in an application group. In standalone and embedded this isn't the case.
    Does anyone have any ideas as to why the other identifier is tagged on to the session?
    Thanks in advance
    Kris

    The extra substring you refer to in the OracleAS environment is a small identifier that the mod_oc4j module within OHS tacks onto the jsessionid so it is aware of which server routed the previous request when it comes back next so it can be dispatched to the same instance in the optimistic case, or to another instance in the same group in the pessimistic case.
    I suspect you could substring the jsessionid and trim off the trailing data safely. I had some code at one point to detect if the request was being handled on the OC4J AJP listener, so you could logic to determine if you needed to do it based on if the request was coming via OHS/mod_oc4j. I'm just about out the door for a weeks vacation so I won't be able to find it -- but if you think you need it for some reason, write back back here and I'll look for it when I get back.

    Hi,
    I am aware of this token appended to teh session if SSO is used. If this is the case in your implementation then its safe to substring the ID to exclude the token

  • Solved: ClassNotFoundException: oracle.adf.model.servlet.ADFBindingFilter

    Just upgraded to Jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0. When running locally, the weblogic server deploys the applications just fine. When I deploy my application to another standalone Oracle WebLogic 10.3.1 server, I get the following message:

    [12:30:00 PM] Deployment FailedI am not sure why this works on the local WebLogic server, but not the standalone. Today, I installed the Oracle WebLogic 10.3.1 standalone server from scratch, then ran the JDeveloper Installer to include the ADF libraries that have the new three letter designation that I don't remember right now. Something like jtl, jrl, ...
    I also tried to deploy the deployment .war file manually to the standalone server with the same error message.
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks, Ken

    Branislav,
    On my first try, I got a different error. So I went to the application properties and modified the Application Assembly. Both the model and the viewcontroller were not checked. I am not sure if I need both or not, but I checked them both. I created the ear and had it deployed to my Oracle WebLogic 10.3.1 server. Worked Great!
    Thank you! Ken

  • Removing ADFBindingFilter from jsp page

    I have showReport()method in showReport bean (it is not registered in faces-config.xml as managed-bean) that I am calling from jsp page with JSP call showReport.showReport(). My showReport() method looks like this:
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ValueBinding vb = fc.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{data.documentReportsPageDef}");
    DCBindingContainer dc = (DCBindingContainer) vb.getValue(fc);
    OperationBinding execute =
OperationBinding("ExecuteWithParams");
    execute.execute();
    Headless_ documentReportsPageDef code:
    <pageDefinition xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel"
    version="10.1.3.36.73" id="documentReportsPageDef"
    Package="...view.pageDefs">

    <iterator id="DocumentReportsIterator" Binds="DocumentReports"
    RangeSize="-1" DataControl="AppModuleDataControl"/>
    </executables>
    <bindings>

    </action>
    <table IterBinding="DocumentReportsIterator" id="DocumentReports" >
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Id"/>
    <Item Value=".."/>
    </AttrNames>
    </table>
    </bindings>
    </pageDefinition>
    It is registered in DataBindings.cpx
    Everything works fine until I remove:
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapping>
    from web.xml so ADFBindingBindingFilter would not be invoked for my jsp page. I have reason for this
    On execute.execute()line I get:
    Resolving collection source:DocumentReports for iterator binding:DocumentReportsIterator
    DCUtil, returning:oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.model.binding.FacesCtrlRangeBinding, for DocumentReports
    Looking for RSI with name :DocumentReports for iterator binding:DocumentReportsIterator
    DCBindingContainer.reportException :oracle.jbo.JboException
    oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException, msg=null
    If I restore filter-mapping so adfBindings are used for *.jsp page I get:
    Resolving VO:DocumentReports for iterator binding:DocumentReportsIterator
    DCUtil, returning:oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.model.binding.FacesCtrlRangeBinding, for DocumentReports
    Column count: 13
    So everything works fine again.
    Question: Can I make this work without ADFBindingsFilter on jsp page? I am invoking everything programmatically and I don’t understand why I need to set this filter on jsp?

    1. I followed the document "Oracle Fusion Middleware Quick Installation Guide for Oracle SOA Suite" 11g Release 1 (11.1.1). The version is Beta Draft: 2009-03-27. Is this the version to use for the April 10 release?

    I also get an error with ESS schema - though a different one than you emailed to me. I'm using XE database and Windows XP.
    The document you have for installation is the right one and I agree that you don't need the ESS schema for SOA/BAM.
    I don't recognize the error you see in the Admin Server log. Would you confirm this is after the Admin Server is in the RUNNING state and while you are starting the managed server? Are there any errors in the managed server log?
    We did have one PM install on Vista and he had to disable ipv6 which is the default on Vista. Here is a forum discussion on it:
    SOA Suite for windows vista
    You may also encounter the network issue described in the known issues doc (eventually - you don't see the problem until you are deploying your project from jdev).
    Let me know if the ipv6 change helps.
    Heidi.

    Hi,
    i have deployed and extended a adf task flow in webcenter spaces.I have a parameter added to the task flow.Whenever i am adding the parameter to tha task flow i get the following error

    java.lang.IllegalStateException: The expression "#{bindings.shell_GlobalToolbar.regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "wc_glb") evaluated to null.
    This is typically due to an error in the configuration of the objects referenced by this expression.
    If it helps, the expression "#{bindings.shell_GlobalToolbar}" evaluates to "null".
    If it helps, the expression "#{bindings}" evaluates to "oracle_webcenter_webcenterapp_view_templates_WCSiteTemplateRRSideNavFlowPageDef". Now using an empty RegionModel instead.

    Can anyone please help.

    I would recommend reading this before posting here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/adf-methodology/PzncJBPMFDw/7mxNblt_ppYJ
    You give far to little detail about the scenario.
    Is it an OOTB taskflow that you extended. If so, which one and what parameter did you add + how did you do it.
    How did you deploy to spaces
    There are a lot of steps in that process that can go wrong so don't expect us to come up with an answer based upon this basic information.

  • Error while running a trusted application in OC4J

    I have created a trusted application to access the CDB and I can directly run this application in the Embedded OC4J and get the right result. The login code is :
    public ManagersFactory loginCDB(){
    FdkCredential credential = new S2SFdkCredential(
    "orcladmin" , "orclapplicationcommonname=s2stestapplication,cn=ifs,cn=products,cn=oraclecontext",
    "welcome1", null);
    try {
    session = ManagersFactory.login(credential, CDBURL);
    Item user = session.getUser(null);
    s_Logger.log("Connected user: "+LoggingUtils.log(user));
    s_Logger.log(session.getUserManager().toString());
    catch (FdkException e) {
    s_Logger.log(e);
    return session;
    But when I deploy this application to the Local/Remote OC4J and access this application by web, the error is shown as below:
    java.lang.RuntimeException:java.lang.RuntimeException: Unknown exception. See cause.

    How can I resolve this problem? Do I need to config the OC4J server?
    Thanks.

    I am a little new to library management in this environment. I am also doing CDB Development and since the libraries are different from what is bundled with JDeveloper 10.1.3.x, I am curious, how did you end up dealing with the library conflicts in a production environment?
    Also, I was under the impression that libraries defined in the application and included in the deploy (ear file) would take presidence over the "global" libraries. Is this not correct?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve
