ADI connect to database problem

hellow,
We have a strange problem:
We have some users installed an ADI on their PC's.
problem is that one pc station can connect to the database with every valid application user, while all the
other users cannot.
they get an invalid username/password for any valid application user, or cannot connect to database.
all of the users share the same database connection definition:
Currentdatabase: perp11i
Description: perp11i
GWYUID: applsyspub/pub
FNDNAM: APPS
connect string : perp
Server id: erpdb
I suspect that something there is something different in those PC (maybe the oracle_home version or so)
Does anybody have any idea on this issuse?
Thank you

yes, i ran the wizard to check the configuration.
it show some errors like :
***Problems encountered.***
***1. The following file(s) were not found :***
***o SSDATB32.OCX***
***Replace the above files in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 with the corresponding files in C:\orant\GLDI90\SUPPORT***
***using the instructions in the description above.***
but it is not that simple, because the i get those error on a PC's that CAN connect to ADI while others (where the wizrard check is perfect), are still cannot connect to ADI and get the "cannot connect to fatabase / invalid username-password" error.

  • Connecting to Database Problem

    One of my users has an issue connecting to the database where she is able to see the application / databases listed on the server via Essbase Add In through excel, but when she clicks on any one of the databases, it basically does nothing------does not connect to the database. We are using an old essbase installation 7.1.6, but none of the other 50 users on the team have experienced this issue. She was set up as a new user. We tried re-installing Essbase, but same issue.
    I had her use the IP adress of the server instead of the server's name, but same problem.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Daniel / Cnee,
    Thanks for the replies. I am able to use this person's newly created id and password and log in from my desk. This person resides over in Bangalore, India, but have others from that site that can access the database. I have had the person re-install essbase 7.1.6 a second time and tried connecting on different days to no evail.
    Basically, she puts in her server, essbase id and password at the excel essbase front end prompt and connects and is able to see the list of applications / databases, but when she uses her mouse to click on one of them.....it just does nothing but sit at that window never connecting.
    I have used Essbase for 14 years and not seen this issue before.

  • Problem in connecting to database from webdynpro for java

    Hi
    I have a problem in connecting to database from webdynpro application
    I am using oracle 10 express edition as database and was able to connect to database from a java application.But  was unable to connect from a webdynpro for java.
    <b>I guess webdynpro for java uses open sql instead of vendor sql(I looked in the visual admin ,DB is using open sql) so unable to connect to database.Am i right.?</b>
    Do i need to make any settings in the visual admin to make it work?
    How to solve this problem.Please give me pointers
    Thanks
    Bala

    Hi,
    For connecting to Oracle, either you can use the normal JDBC connectivty code directly which is given below :
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@Oracle_server_ip:Oracle port:SID of the Database","user_name","password");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("your query");
    In case you want to fetch data through ejbs, these are the steps to be followed :
    1) Open the J2EE perspective
    2) Create an EJB Module project
    3) Right click on ejbModule, create a new EJB (select your EJB type)
    4) While creating the ejb itself, you can add business methods by clicking ‘Next’ in the UI. Another option is after creating the ejb, write the method in the bean, then select the method from ejb-jar.xml -> <bean name> ->method. Right click and select ‘propogate to local & remote’.
    5) Double click on ejb-j2ee-engine.xml. select your bean and specify a Jndi name for eg: “MyJndi”.
    6) Right click on the EJB project and add ‘classes12.zip’ file (provided by Oracle) to it’s build path. (under libraries tab). Also check the same file under ‘Order & Export’.
    7) Create an Enterprise Application project.
    8) Right click on the EJB module project and select add to EAR project, then select the created EAR project.
    9) Right click on the EJB project, select ‘Build EJB Archive’
    10) Right click on the EAR project, select ‘Build Application Archive’
    11) Open the WebDynpro perspective, open a new project, right click on the project ->properties. Do the following configurations :-
    • Java Build path - select the EJB project from ‘projects’ , check the selected project under ‘Order & Export’
    • Project references – select the EAR project
    • WebDynpro references – select ‘sharing references’ tab, click add & make an entry as : <vendor>/<EAR project name without .ear extension>
    You can find the vendor name under ‘application-j2ee-engine.xml’ file of the EAR project. By default it is ‘sap.com’. So if my EAR project’s name is ABC, my entry would look like ‘sap.com/ABC’
    12) Now the configurations are over and the EJB can be invoked by writing the client code inside the webdynpro component. Like:
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext();
    Object obj = context.lookup("MyJndi");
    MyEJBHome home = MyEJBHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj,MyEJBHome.class);
    MyEJB mybean = home.create();
    int a = 0;
    a= mybean.add(10,15);
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setSum(a);
    where ‘MyEJB’ is my EJB name and ‘MyJndi’ is my JNDI name
    To connect to Oracle , you can write the usual Java code (given below) as a business methos of the ejb (similar to add() method in the example). And access it like mybean.<businessMethodName>().
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@Oracle_server_ip:Oracle port:SID of the Database","user_name","password");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("your query");

  • Problem about using Oracle Form 6i to connect Oracle Database 10g express.

    Sorry to interrupt all of you.
    I have encountered a problem about using Oracle Form 6i to connect Oracle Database 10g express.
    As I would like to
    I use Oracle Net8 Easy Config to create a connection.
    According to "tnsnames.ora", the paramater of connection is as follows;
    XE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = XE))
    Unfortunately, when I use Oracle Net8 Easy Config to test the connection, an error message is prompted as follows:
    Connecting....
    The test did not succeed.
    ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error
    There may be an error in the fields entered
    or the server may not be ready for a connection.
    You can check the server and retry, or continue.
    After I google it, I still have no idea how to solve the problem. I would like to ask, could anyone mind providing some hints or solution to address the issues.
    Thanks for your assistance in advance.

    I don't believe the Net8 Easy Config (NEC) will create a compatible entry in the tnsnames.ora. I have Forms 6i running successfully against a 10g Express database, but I did not use the NEC - I created the entry myself. Here is the entry I use:
    XE=
      (DESCRIPTION=
        (ADDRESS=
          (PROTOCOL=TCP)
          (HOST=<<servername or IP address>>)
          (PORT=1521)
        (CONNECT_DATA=
          (SERVER=dedicated)
          (SERVICE_NAME=XE)
      )Hope this helps,

  • Problem with  connection to database when PC is connected to network

    Hi,
    I can't connect to my database locally when my PC (with database) is connected to network. When I try run enterpsise manager I see that Database Instance is down, Agent Connection to Instance is down with error ORA-12505 and Listener is up. When I try connect by sqlplus I see errors :ORA-01034 :Oracle not avilable and ORA-27101:shared memory realm does not exists. When I was installing database my PC was not connected to network.
    When I disconnect my PC from network, after few minutes I can run enterprise manager, can connect to Oracle and everything is OK.Moreover after that I can connect PC to network and still everything is OK.
    What is the reason of this problem and what can I do that I could always connect to Oracle, whenever my PC is connected or disconeccted to network?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    As I wrote in my previous post when I was installing database my PC was not connected to network.
    And as was already replied.
    My guess is that you installed on a network with dynamic IP and now you have a different IP address or none. If this is the case it is a clear indication that you didn't waste any time reading the installation documentation before you installed. This might be a great time to do so.Now, go back and read the installation guide. Pay particular attention to the section titled "Database Network Topics", especially the part about loopback adapters.
    Servers process don't work very well with DHCP assigned addresses, causing the clients to have to guess where the server is.
    version of Windows- Windows XP ( I test there my java program which connects to Oracle),
    version of Oracle - 10g Release 2,
    Oracle database service is running,
    IP address which I gets is dynamic. After getting this addres I can't connect to database.
    My TNSNAMES.ORA file:

  • Problem with reached maximum number of connections to database

    Dear Experts,
    Our Production system was not responding properly last week.
    The below was the reply from the Basis team.
    "It seems that we have again problem with reached maximum number of connections to database. We have extended this number to 100 this year and now it seems that it’s not enough again. It seems that something is running on Production, which takes over too many connections."
    They have increased the number to 200 as a work around.
    Do we have any means to find out, which component or application is causing the issue.
    Please advise me if any better way is available to correct the issue.

  • Problem regarding to connection with database

    while opening the SQL server 2008,it is unable to connect with database, showing as error 2

    1. Make sure SQL Server Service is running
    2. If a named instance, make sure SQL Server browser service is running
    3. Make sure SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections
    4. Examine the SQL Server error log for messages confirming that SQL is listening on the expected network interfaces and ports
    5. Test server connectivity with PING from the client machine
    6. Test port connectivity using TELNET or PowerShell to the server and port (from step 4) from the client machine.  For example
    a. TELNET <server-name> 1433
    b. PowerShell: 1433 | % { echo ((new-object Net.Sockets.TcpClient).Connect("YourServerName",$_)) "server listening on TCP port $_" }

  • Managed Server can not connect to Database

    I have a WebLogic cluster with three managed Server on 3 different machines.
    ManagedServer_1, ManagedServer_2, ManagedServer_3 (on Machine 3)
    Firstly, everything is ok. But when we changed some configuration on Firewall and make the WebLogic cluster could not connect to database. 3 servers change status from Running to Warning. Then, we undo all the changes to the Firewall configuration. 3 Servers could connect to Database again but still in warning state.
    It is strange that when I tried to restart ManagedServer_3. That server could not be up normally. It went to Admin state and all the datasources and connection pool could not be created. I tried to restart the machine 3 and start the server but it still failed to make server running normally.
    ( I made the test connecting to Database from Machine 3, everything is okie, I can got data from database, port 1521 opened )
    Has anyone got the same problem and how to fix it? Is that the problem with the admin server?

    JDBC DataSources/Connection pools are all at Domain Level. All we do is just target the datasources to AdminServer and Entire cluster (this will take care of all managed servers in the cluster). From Weblogic Console, TEST the data sources for any firewall issues. If this works from console, check from where you are accessing the Console like within the Firewall, that can access the database server. Even though the actual application is deployed only on cluster, still I would recommend targetting the datasources to both AdminServer and Cluster.

  • Taking too much time (1min) to connect to database

    Hi,
    I have oracle 10.2 and 10g application server.
    Its taking too much time to connect to database through application (on browser). The connection through sqlplus is fine.
    Please share your experience.

    Dear AnaTech,
    i am going to ask not related this question which already you answered i am going to ask you about that how to connect forms6i and Developer 10g with OracleAS.
    i have installed and working Developer Suite 10g Ver. 10.1.2 and also Form Builder 6i. On my other machine i installed and working Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 and also on the database machine i installed Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Application Server Control 10.1.2.0.2.
    my database conectivity with Developer suite Forms and Reports and also Form6i and Reports6i are working fine. no problem.
    now the 1 question of mine is that when i try to run form6i through run from web i got this error. FRM-99999: error 18121 occured see the release not.
    this and the main question of mine is this that how can i control my OracleAS 10g with forms because basically the functionality of OracleAS is Mid-Tier but i am not utilizing the Mid-tier i am using here Two-tier Envrionment even i installed 3-Tier Environment so tell me how i utilize it with 3-Tier..
    I hope you don't mind that i ask this question here and also if you give me you email then we can discuss this in detail and i can be helpful of your great expertise. i also know and utilize my 3-tier real envrionment.

  • (Cisco Historical Reporting / HRC ) All available connections to database server are in use by other client machines. Please try again later and check the log file for error 5054

    Hi All,
    I am getting an error message "All available connections to database server are in use by other client machines. Please try again later and check the log file for error 5054"  when trying to log into HRC (This user has the reporting capabilities) . I checked the log files this is what i found out
    The log file stated that there were ongoing connections of HRC with the CCX  (I am sure there isn't any active login to HRC)
    || When you tried to login the following error was being displayed because the maximum number of connections were reached for the server .  We can see that a total number of 5 connections have been configured . ||

    What is the OS version of the PC you are running  and is it physical machine or virtual machine that is running the HRC client ..
    OS Version Windows 7 Home Premium  64 bit and it’s a physical machine.
    . The Max DB Connections for Report Client Sessions is set to 5 for each servers (There are two servers). The no of HR Sessions is set to 10.
    I wanted to know if there is a way to find the HRC sessions active now and terminate the one or more or all of that sessions from the server end ?

    We have had this "PRX5" problem with Exchange 2013 since the RTM version.  We recently applied CU3, and it did not correct the problem.  We have seen this problem on every Exchange 2013 we manage.  They are all installations where all roles
    are installed on the same Windows server, and in our case, they are all Windows virtual machines using Windows 2012 Hyper-V.
    We have tried all the "this fixed it for me" solutions regarding DNS, network cards, host file entries and so forth.  None of those "solutions" made any difference whatsoever.  The occurrence of the temporary error PRX5 seems totally random.
    About 2 out of 20 incoming mail test by Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer fail with this PRX5 error.
    Most people don't ever notice the issue because remote mail servers retry the connection later.  However, telephone voice mail systems that forward voice message files to email, or other such applications such as your scanner, often don't retry and
    simply fail.  Our phone system actually disables all further attempts to send voice mail to a particular user if the PRX5 error is returned when the email is sent by the phone system.
    Is Microsoft totally oblivious to this problem?
    PRX5 is a serious issue that needs an Exchange team resolution, or at least an acknowledgement that the problem actually does exist and has negative consequences for proper mail flow.
