Adjusting excise & inventory of Under consumed material in production process

Dear PP experts,
Following is the scenario of PP.
In production process some time components are consumed more than BOM. But not adjusted in particular Prd Order. The RM are excised.
Now the requirement is
1. How to reconcile the inventory (Physical Inv process not required)
2. How to update RG23 register for under or over consumption of RM
3. The under or over consumption of RM should affect the FG cost also.
4. User don't have the particular Production order for reference.
Thanks & Regards

  • Accounting for code based  consumable material in SAP

    Hi Experts,
Just a scenario I want to discuss with You all:
Earlier were using  non-stock items (no material code, only text to procure materials) and projects were consuming it. Now, we are going to use material codes to procure non-stock items which now have master code for it now the requirement for this process is as below.
At the time of GRN system pick project G/L(Profit and loss account G/L ) with account assignment S (or Q ) and respective WBS
While transferring  the left over project qty to another project ,accounting document is to be created .
Warehouse want to track to moved  quantity as well  from project to project and to own stock .
considering these requirement  i m working on two logic.
    Logic 1 .
I configured the material as value based material  so that while doing GRN  project WBS  is debiting
and after consumption  of partial material quantity,  I am transferring the remaining cost of project to another project by  t-code KB61N or KB11N  where cost is moving from project to project .
now to show quantity movement  i am developing one report which can show the quantity based on moved Price lets  say if unit prince is 10 and 200 cost is transferring from project to project  means 20 qty is moving  in customized report .
    Logic 2
With the help of BADI or some development a virtual storage location  will be created on MIGO screen
and material will be fetched in this virtual storage location while doing GRN as a referance purpose
and the same location to be used during transferring material from project to project
let me know how far this logic and requirement is correct to code the consumable material and it  is  going to be  codified for reporting purpose .
your earliest response will be appreciable .
    Thanks in advance .

    Hi Jurgan  ,
    scenario is like ,
earlier for these material , material record was not existing
but now business  want to create material  master for such consumable material for tracking purpose
and these codified material is to procured under WBC and profit and loss account G/L not inventory G/L (balance sheet G/l )
and to pick profit loss G/L  i made material as valuate material only  so that can populate accounting document while transferring value from project to project via  KB61N or KB11N
now what value is transferring from project to project that will be picked in terms of quantity (unit value conversion to quantity )  in customized report
hope scenario is clear now ..let me know if any query you have  to give your valuable inputs
    Thanks

  • Consuming Material Having Variant Configuration

    HI
We are using Variant Configuration for our semi finished product and its
batch managed. There are two plants in one plant say A and B. In A plant
we are using Variant configuration. The same material is stock transferred
to plant B and is further processed.
We are creating CIR in plant B. After taking MRP run we are converting
planned order to purchase requisition and subsequently Stock transfer
purchase order on Plant A. When the material is produced in plant A,it is
transferred to plant B on stock transfer order mentioned above. But the
material is against CIR in plant B. We remove the material from CIR
through 411E movement and system keep it as free stock in unrestricted.
Now when i am consuming this material for further processing in
production order of Material getting manufactured system is asking me for
    Variant Characteristics.
System should not ask me variant characteristics once it has been removed
    from CIR i.e. special stock.
    Any Work around avilable.
    Regards,
    Anand.

    Hi Anand,
Finally, I could understand your issue from your CSS message.
In your description, AA is configurable material in both plant A and plant B, BB is not a configurable material in plant B, AA is a component of material BB, so when you produce BB, there will be dependent requirement generated for AA from BB, now you want to use the stock of AA to fullfill the dependent requirement, however, the system will require you to enter the characteristic at that time.
Then where is the stock of AA comes from? I have mentioned this in my previous reply. But as I have mentioned it is not correct to have unristricted stock for the configurable material, therefore, your process to have free stock of AA is not correct.
Another point is that, your process to have configurable material as a component of a non-configurable material is also not proper.
For example, material BB is a Car, material AA is the Door of the Car, your Car is not configurable, but the Door is configurable, you may have green door and red door according to the configuration, but as your car is a firmed material then what's the meaning to have different door, if you want to have different door, then that means you also need to have different color of the car, like green door for green car, red door for red car, then that means your car should be also a configurable material to make you can select the color of the car too.
Or if your Car is a firmed material as green car, then do you think there is any meaning to configure the door of the car? Unless you do want a red door for a green car, but this can also be realized with a configurable car.
So normally, like your situation, you should use multi-level configuration structure to do the production in make to order scenario.
Therefore, still the problem has been described in my previous reply, no matter how you get the stock of AA, the AA is produced with the configured configuration module, so the stock of AA is also with the configuration data, then no matter how you want to consume the stock of AA, system will always ask for the characteristic of the requirement to compare it with the stock configuration to see if they are same.
For example, you are producing your Car, but as far as I can see you should have no place to configure the door in production order, therefore when you try to consume the door, the system will of course need to know which color you want, because if you want red door but there is only stock of green door, then how the system should do in your opinion?
Then finially, the best way of solving your issue is to have material variant for the configurable material, like the door, you may have material variant as green door and red door, if your firmed Car is green car, then you can use green door as the firmed component, if your firmed Car is red car, then you can use red door as the firmed component, also when you do the production, you could simply produce the green door directly without configure the door, because the material variant is a stockable item but the configurable material is not, then your scenario would be very simple and there will no such problem any more.
If you do still want to keep your scenario, but don't want the system requires you enter the charateristics, then you may have to do the modification of the goods movement transaction to disable that, but it may lead to the inconsistency situation, like actually you want red door, but what you have in stock is green door, without that, you may consume the green door stock for the red door requirement, then it will mess up all the following process.
Also as you are doing the goods movement in MM transaction, so if there is user-exit could be used to change this behavior is decided by MM function, however, base on my checking there will be no such user-exit to control this behavior at MM side, because the consequnce is really dangerous for the system operation.
Therefore, I think the best way for you is still adjust your production scenario to make your production standard, then SAP system will accept that standard production scenario under your requirement.
    Thanks and regards,
    Rachel

  • PR, PO, GR for a consumable material without material master record

    Hi,
I have created a complete cylcle till Invoice Verification for a material without a material master record.
But i have one query i.e. in the cylce i created i had to create a GR before entering MIRO.  Is there any way by which i need not create a GR for a consumable material i.e. to be posted directly to a GL without any inventory management.
In my case, the GR checkbox in the PO was automatically ticked.
Can anyone help on this please.

    Customizing Error Message in ME23N
When displaying of modifying Purchase Orders with a document type of Framework Order,  a user selects the LIMITS tab, they get the error message Customizing incorrectly maintained, message number SE729.
The problem is caused by version upgrades of the SAP software.
Number of entries in table T162V is different to the number of columns in table control for screen SAPLMLSP (400).  You can use screen painter SE51 to display the screen.  View the Element list for TC_VIEW.
The list of fields can also be viewed within the program.  Transaction code ML81N (service entry sheet), program SAPLMLSR.  Click on the Configuration button (top right hand corner) select Administrator.  This shows the number of fields as 67.
Using SE16N to view table T162V shows 69 fields.  This table contains six layouts (variants), they must all be the same.  Before the change the total count was 414 (69 x 6).
The ME23N transaction only checks that the number of entries is correct.  You will notice that the fields are not in the same sequence, but that should not matter if you donot use the service transaction ML81N and it is not a selectable tab on ME23N.
Transaction SM31 was used to delete the extra fields.  As this is a SAP table, you may need extra authorisations to make the change.
Note:  the number of fields shown above will be different in each site.  This is because of different SAP versions and in what software is loaded.

  • Change Excise Duty Group on the Material Master

What are the steps to change the excise duty group in the Material Master (MARC- OITAXGRP)? I am getting a message 'Excise duty tax group cannot be changed due to posted stock'.
We realised some of materials have been setup with incorrect excise duty group at a few plants and there have been a lot material movements posted (101s, 301s). But is the best way to fix this?
Do we have to reverse all the documents or is it good if we zero the inventory and then it will allow us to change?
Is a direct table update of the table an option?
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance
    Srini

you can't change the excise duty group if there is a stock for the material.
there is a steps that you need to follow if you inisist to change:
    - zerorize the stock in the current period (all stock types)
    - zerorise the stock in previous period (all stock types)
    - then only you can change the excise duty group.
these steps can only be carried out when the two posting period are still open, so normally you should do it at month end.

  • Consumable Material type tax register updation

    Dear friends
When to capture and post the excise invoice for Consumable material type,
Material need to update on 23 A register. But its is updating on 23C register.
How to rectify this error?  Where we can assign the consumable material type with 23 A register?
    regards

    Hi,
Check the Material & Chapter ID combination in J1ID transaction
If you assign the material type as Raw Material in the above settings for your Material, Plant & Chapter ID combination, RG23A Register will be updated.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Consumable Material in WH

    Hi experts,
I am fresher in this SAP world...need ur comments..
    Scenario :-
we create PO for consumable material with A/c assignment - K, while receiving goods - We don't want to issue total qty in cost Center currently.
Can we stock this material for some time in WH & then issue to Cost Center later??
    Thanks in advance...
    Regards,
    Julie

    no.
with an account assigned PO you do not create any inventory while performing a goods receipt.
if you want store the material for a certain time, then you must not define it as consumable, then it is just a stock item.
Of course you can charge the costs immediaty and store the quantity non-valuated. In this case create a material master with material type UNBW. SAP will force you to enter an account assignment in the PO but it will create stock when doing the receipt.

  • Stock and consumable material

what is difference between stock and consumable material?
    How to cancel an invoice,GR,PO,PR,PIR?
What  questions we may expect for interview in MM nad for written test also

    Hi,
Answer to your first question form material valuation point of view.
    1. Difference between Stock and consumables materials.
Automatic account assignment occurs for a stock material with a material type that allows for inventory management.  At posting time, data from the material master record determines which G/L accounts to hit.  For automatic account assignment, the account assignment category field is left blank.
For consumable material may or may not have a material master record.  A consumable material with a material master record would be for example, a material whose material type does not allow for inventory management (ex: pencils, paper, staplers, etc.).  When creating a requisition for one of these consumable materials, you must enter something in the account assignment category field.
When an account assignment category is specified, an additional pop-up window appears for entering the account assignment data.

    Dear Ram,
    1.consumable material (MM-IM)  - Inventory Management (MM-IM)
A material or service that is the subject of procurement and whose value is recorded using cost element accounts or fixed
    asset accounts.There are consumable materials:
    1.Without a material master record
2.With a material master record without inventory management
3.With a material master record with inventory management on a quantity basis only
2.Asset All items to which a value can be assigned.
There are two kinds of assets:
    Financial (Example: cash)
    Physical (Example: machinery)
    3. Tools: Production related tools like cutting tool, drill bit, grinding wheel etc which is used for machining purpose.

  • Inventory count for subcontracing material

I want to take the inventory count for the material with subcontracor on 31st march 2008 (previous period).
I have tried to know the stock with subcontractor using T-code ME2o, MB5B, MBLB but I'm not getting desired results(i.e stock values on 31st march).
    Is there any other/alternate way.
    Please suggest.

Inventory count is used for counting internal material which means within plant and storage location.
To see stock provided to vendor use tcode ME2O.

  • ME51N for consumable Material through COST CENTER

    Hi all
I got the ERROR : <b>Create Acc. 400000 for 19.09.2007 as a cost element in controlling area 1000</b>.
This error came when i was creating PR for consumable material i.e. Tcode ME51N
    Help me solve this Problem
    Pradeep

    Hi Pradeep,
You are creating PR for consumable material with account assignment as K probably
your account 40000 is not defined as cost element in controlling you will assogn a cost center for your account
You can do so in FS00 By assigning a cost center to your G/L and declaring it as cost element in controlling but better to do the same in consultation with FICO
