    Parameter
    Description
Can Entry Be Changed After Installation?
    Administrator ID
This field specifies the administrator account user ID that you use for secure shell access to the CLI, for logging into Cisco Unified Communications Operating System Administration and for logging into theDisaster Recovery System.
No, you cannot change the entry after installation.
    Note
After installation, you can create additional administrator accounts, but you cannot change the original administrator account user ID.
Basically, you cannot change the OS/platform administrator ID after install. You can change the password (as you have already found).

If it's running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, insert a Mac OS X install DVD, restart with the Option key held down, click on it, and use the Reset Password utility.
If it's running Mac OS X 10.7 or newer, restart with the Command and R keys held down, open the Terminal, and use the resetpassword command:

  • How do I disable administrator username and password entry to access ix4-300d

With the recent version 4.1.102.29716 update, I am now FORCED to enter a username and password to get into my "home based" ix4-300d NAS.  This has already been a MAJOR pain for my nedia server setup, in that I am no longer able to create a network drive to one of several NAS folders on to my home network.
My question therefore is, how do I DISABLE the function of having to enter an administrator username and password to gain entry into my ix4-300d?
    Thanks,
    Bill

    No hazzle, just do it.
This is only for admin purposes. You are still able to place your media into individual user shares or put it in the public area where they will be accessible for everyone, even if you set 'security' on.

  • Default Administrator Username & Password for Weblogic Server Admin Console

I created a new domain using the configuration wizard on windows (using config.cmd).
While configuring the domain, I didnt check any of the check boxes for configuring Admin Server, Managed servers, clusters...
Just gave the domain name and location of the domain home and clicked on create domain.
So automatically AdminServer is created and domain was created successfully.
After the domain is created, I started the Admin Server from the same configuration Wizard and clicked on Done.
Now the Admin Server is started successfully. But I dont know the Administrator username and password as I didnt configure it while creating the domain.
So how to login to Admin Console? What will be the default Administrator Username and Password to log into Admin Console?

    Got the answer.
I tried with weblogic/weblogic9 and it worked.
I m able to login to Admin Console. So this should be the default Username and Password.
Please let me know your thoughts.

  • Administrator.username

    Dears.
i have windows server 2008 (DC) installed. and about 30 windows7 client user. and none have admin privileges
i found that a certain user installed several softeares without my permission (administrator account ).
i found user looged in his machine (c:\users\administrator.username) idont know how this user (administrator.username) created or logged in to this machine.
any idea how this happened, and/or is this a bug and how can i fix this hole.
    thanks

Ok, then it is expected behavior. If you logon locally to the pc first, then to the domain you would end up with two profiles.
    %username%
    and
    %username%.%userdomain%
Else if you logon to the domain first, then locally to the pc you would end up with
    %username%
    and
    %username%.%computername%

  • Is there a way to add, delete or change a FAC code via CLI in CUCM?

    Hi everyone,
I was wondering if it is possible to add, delete or change a fac code(or client matter) via CLI?
I know how to do it via BAT tool, but I want to do it via CLI(if it's possible).
    I´m using CUCM 6.
    I'll really appreciate your comments.
    Thanks..
    Dave.

There are no instructions n how to do this and we do not support doing any kind of changes to the DB via CLI unless instructed by TAC.
If you still want to do so, read the data dictionary for your CUCM version and work your CLI queries, again, if anything happens and the DB becomes corrupted or you have undesired results, we won't provide any level of support.
Previously I mentioned which are the supported methods for adding elements to the DB, I encourage you to use any of them.

  • Changing a local administrator username and password using GP preferences permanently

Windows 2012 AD with W7 clients
I've recently set a group policy preference to rename the built in local administrator account (which was already renamed from the default Administrator) and set a new password for it. This seems to have worked.
However, if I remove the computer from the domain, the username reverts back to the previous one and the password seems to get corrupted and is neither the new one or the old one. As the local admin account is of most use when the computer is not connecting
to the domain for whatever reason this means that it is unusable. Am I doing something wrong or is the implementation of the Group Policy flawed? Any suggestions for a better way?

    Hi Tim,
    >>However, if I remove the computer from the domain, the username reverts back to the previous one and the password seems to get corrupted and is neither the new one or the old one.
How is it going? I agree with Idan that we can also try to use the setting
Accounts: Rename administrator account to change the name of administrator to see if the issue persists.
Regarding the deprecation of password changing function of GPP, this is mainly due to security concern that GPP stores password in Sysvol which is accessible to all domain users.
If the issue persists or you need further help, please don't hesitate to let us know.

  • Need to override administrator username

I have been trying to assert parental controls on iTunes; however, when i type in the "username" and "password" to enable the lock, iTunes responds with "username is incorrect" (or something like that).  How do we fix this?  I tried going to my startup then user accounts to change my account to an administrator (as suggested by someone on the blog page), but I wasn't directed to this option. AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!
    Thanks!

Buying used Macs can be tricky and what seems like a bargain can really turn in to a  problem. I noticed you are running 10.7.3 (Lion), if the machine originally shipped with Snow Leopard or earlier you have an illegal license of Lion. The seller should have provided all the media including any applications he purchased. If he did not you should contact the seller and request the media otherwise you have stollen applications. In addition Lion (per the SLA) cannot be transferred because it is tied to the original ower's AppleID. However if you have a mid 2011 iMac that originally shipped with Lion then you are fine.
However if all you want to do is change the password then please read:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274  will show you how.

  • Administrator username and password don't work

ok , I have a PowerMac G5, I am the only one who uses the computer, I set up a standard accoun and a admin account, now neither work for username or password, I can't even install my updates. I've tried every combination of usernames and passwords I've ever used, but nothing, any ideas

I have the same problem, but Disk Utility can't even find my hard drive! At "select the disk for which you want to change the password", there's a blank space.
Same thing for the Installer. I want to Erase & Install (have backed up my stuff to another harddrive via FireWire Target Mode), but the Installer can't find a hard drive, it can only find its own installer disk...
The strangest thing is that this morning, after 2 days of not being able to login and restarting and having no response from the computer, all of a sudden it opened with our normal desktopimages, as if all was well! However, it again too much time to do an operation, and when I restarted it, it was back at the question mark, next time at the black screen with white letters, up to what I just wrote above.

  • Acrobat Distiller prompting for administrator username & password

I have built 2 images on 10.6 with the acrobat 9 (patched with latest updates) and im getting problems with distiller launching under standard accounts. All apps a launched under admin and work fine. However users only have standard account privileges and acrobat application works fine but when i launch distiller (patched to latest update) it prompts the user for the administrator login details.
New mac book pro and mac mini
    10.6 (fully patched)
    acrobat 9 fully patched
    works under administrator account
created a local standard account on machine and it has the same problem.
    help!!!

extra info - all our users worked in locked down environment so they dont have admin rights. I believe when distiller starts one of its checks/processes needs admin rights to enable to it to start the application. This was checked under the console.app.
i have tried giveing the application full read/write access and permissions but this doesnt resolve issue.

  • UDI Add Local Administrator and Change Local Administrator Username

I'm unable to find any information on how to either add a new local user admin account, or change the default local user admin account name during SCCM 2012 SP1 UDI OSD. The AdminAccountPage only has two areas, Local Administrator Password Text Box, and
    Administrator User Accounts Text Box.
The first one, Local Administrator Password Text Box, works when I set a variable that corresponds to a password for the default local user admin named "Administrator". We'd like to change the name of this default local user admin to something
    else, like "Help Desk".
The second area, Administrator User Accounts Text Box, lets me add users to the computer local administrators. We're fine adding domain users, but I'm not understanding how local users get added. Would the local user have to already exist in the reference
image? I see that the OSDAddAdmin variable will take either domain\user or computer\user. If I put in computer\user, and it's an account that doesn't already exist on the reference image, does it create a new local user account? And if so, how do you set a
    password for this account?
I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone can give me. Thanks.

Is using Group Policy available to you? This would be a far easier way to add additional local accounts to your computers, rather than trying to modify the default built in local administrator account.
    As an example: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/the-enterprise-cloud/deploy-local-accounts-via-group-policy/
You would be able to provision new local accounts i.e. HelpDesk outside of Configuration Manager.

    2) Are you sure you are in the right forum for this? (You may be .. but you may well not be) ... if ODD is open developer day the information on passwords is usually in the installation instructions.
