Adobe 9 Forms Wizard automatic Submit Button - Change Email Address

Hi,
I was wondering if someone would be able to assist me with an issue I have.
I am quite a new user with Adobe 9 Standard and have created an editable form using the Adobe 9 Form Wizard.  The form creates fine but when I create it for distribution it creates a submit button in the top right of the form that can be seen by users who would fill out the form and it puts an email address, subject and attachement details into the button but when I go to edit the form in Adobe 9 I am unable to see this button or edit the details as I wish to change the email address.
When I first installed Adobe 9 and created an editable form I guess I was prompted for details for this but can not find where I can change these details.
From investigating this further by opening the form in Adobe 8 then saving a copy and then opening it again in Adobe 9 I can see the button and that the button executes a Java Script, as a work around I tried to edit the Java Script but this does not appear to work.
Ideally I would not like to use the work around to change it in the Java Script but would like to know what to change to make this work (just for future reference) I would like to find out how to get Adobe to prompt me for the email details again?

I had the same problem with the email address. Took forever to figure out, but fortunately the answer is simple. On the Acrobat menu, go to Edit > Preferences, thenin the Categories section click on "Identity". Whatever name and email address you put there will stay with the document.

    Hello,
    For some reason when I try to e-mail my form when I hit the submit by e-mail button in the Send Form that pops up the e-mail address that the form is supposed to be sent to is different than what I have set it up to be on the form. I have tried creating the e-mail submit button using the e-mail button from the standard library and by using a regular button and changing it to a submit button, but it does not make a difference.
    Can anyone tell me how to get it to not change the e-mail address when I try to submit my form? The e-mail address I have entered it to be sent to is: [email protected] but when I go to submit when testing my form it adds an "a" onto the end of association so the e-mail address is changed to: [email protected]
    this means that when I submit it the form does not go to my inbox because the email address is wrong, even though the e-mail address is entered correctly in the Object palette in LiveCycle Designer.

    Hi Tamara,
    It seams to be a glitch with your version of LiveCycle Designer. It should work if you manually change the auto-generated script instead of using Designer's dialog. Here's how you can do that:
    1) Select your email submit button and open the Script Editor (Ctrl+Shift+F5)
    2) Make sure you select the 'click' event or 'Events with Scripts' filter at the top left of the script editor window next to 'Show:'
    3) Near the end of the script (line 57 and 59) you will see 'mailto:' followed by the faulty email address you were seeing.
    4) Change it to what you need it to be (both lines)
    I have an earlier version of Designer, so I can't test it myself, so let me know how it works for you.

  • Cannot E-Mail a PDF Form w/ a Submit Button

    Hi, I feel really inept at this point and I'm hoping someone can help me (PLEASE!).  My Home Owner Assoc. uses PDF forms created in Nitro PDF, but most users user Adobe Reader.
    When a Nitro PDF form is opened in Reader, everything works as designed (radio buttons, form filling, tabbing, drop down lists, etc.) EXCEPT the Submit Button. The response is "This Operation Is Not Permitted" when the button is clicked.
    If I go to File, Attach to E-Mail, the response is "The e-mail copy that you just chose will e-mail a blank copy of this form.  The blank copy will not contain any data you might have typed into this form" with a button that states "E-MAIL A BLANK COPY".  Obviously this defeats the purpose.  There is a lightbulb TIP that states: "This form contains an email submit button, located on the form.  Clicking this email submit button will email a data file containing data you type into this form", so obviously Reader recognizes the submit button.
    The form works perfectly in NitroPDF (of course) and NitroPDF support says that it is a "problem" on the Adobe end.
    Can anyone help me please?  I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium SP!, Firefox 3.0.11, NitroPDF5.5, Adobe Reader Version 9.1.0.2009022700

    data put into the form at all, just e-mail it (not to be saved),
    similar to printing it out complete with data, then ignoring the
    file.  Is that still not possible?

  • Using the Submit button to Email

    I was previously using Frontpage and I have just recently
    started using DW so a lot of this is still new to me. I did get the
    DW8 for dummies book which is helping a lot, although I know being
    a member on a forum like this will help much more. So any help is

    processing companies to send the info and then come back with the
    results, but I just want it to email the completed page/order form
    so the credit card can be processed in the office.

    configured email client,
    that works with the webpage form. That leaves out people

    give the person a choice to send or cancel.

    First step- check your hosting's support/FAQ section for info
    about forms

    I have dreamweaver mx 2004. I have create a contact form
    including a submit button. But can't figure out how to attach an
    email address to this submit button so that once a viewer hits this
    submit button, the appropriate will be notified with respective

    You don't attach an address to the submit button. You direct
    the form's action to a script that processes the email. Please use
    this forum's search feature to get the details as this is a very
    commonly asked question.

    I need to create a form with a submit button which sends to a pool of 3 different addresses.   Does anyone know how I accomplish that?  When I add "submit a form" with mailto syntax three separate times, it only sends it to the top address.  How do i get it to send to all three?

    Do you have some example script I might be able to use to set up the list box emails?

  • Email pdf form to field value and actual email address

    I have a couple of issues I'm trying to solve and am not sure how to proceed. I need the Submit button to pick up a value from a field that the user has filled in and I need to supply an email address.
    I need to provide the text for the subject line of the email plus add a value from a field that the user fills in.
    I got those two elements to work based  on scripts I got from the Forum.
    But I also need the top half (or first page) of the form to be sent as a pdf and the second half (or second page) to still be an interactive form and a submit button that works similarly to the first Submit button.
    How can I accomplish this? Apparently, I'm still not able to attach a copy of the form.

    I am guessing that the forum has put in the spaces in your script(?)
    Here is a screenshot of Paul's form:
    You will see that Paul is passing "form1" through to the function. This is the name of the root node, so when clicked it will lock everything.
    If this form had multiple pages and just just wanted to lock the first page "purchaseOrder", then the script would look like this:
    myScriptObject.LockAllFields(purchaseOrder);
    A couple of things to watch out for:
    The script object "myScriptObject" is under the root node in the hierarchy;
    That the script object name in your event matches the name in the hierarchy;
    That the function name in the script matches that in the script object;
    The script object name and function name should be different and also do not use reserved words like "node";
    The name you are passing through to the function should match the name of a container in the hierarchy
    A couple of things you can try would include setting up a trial button and having the script in the click event, just to get it working.
    Also when previewing the form, press Control + J to open the javascript console. Then when you click the button, it will return any problem that is making the script fall over. This then makes it easier to find a solution.

    PS Just spotted that the script object is not under the root node. This isn't an issue here because there is only one page and the button calling the script object in under the same node. As far as I know if you have multiple pages that call the script object, then it is better to have the script object under the root node, where it is available from all pages.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
    Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
    If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

    Hi,
    I keep receiving this error message when trying to checkout and submit a payment.
    ERROR: An error occurred. Your web form must capture customer name and email address. Please fix this issue and re-insert your web form on your web page.
    The strange thing is it's only happening in chrome. It works perfectly in IE and firefox, the form submits and takes me to the order confirmation page. I've tested it on multiple PCs so it's definitely a chrome issue. Does anyone have any advice as to what could be causing this issue with chrome?

    Check your eCommerce web form in the admin has the ID - 211729
    This is what the form ID is, if you have deleted it and made a new one it will not Marry up
    The things you normally look for with this error is The first name and last name along with email fields have the right ID and name parameters on the input. The javascript is picking those up so it looks like that is working.
    So next is the form in the admin marrying up with the form on the page or in this case the Registration Buy layout.

    There is one thing to be careful about though when using the "Send Updates" feature in Address book to notify your contacts about address/contact info changes. 
    Addressbook will automatically include your personal vCard at the end of the email message that goes out to your list.  I did not realize this at the time and it royally burned me.  My default address card had a lot of extra personal information contained within it that I did not want people to see.  There was no indication that the vCard would automatically be included nor any way to disable this feature just before sending the "update" email.  As a result, my list received my private information and the only thing I could do was to send a new email to the list manually, minus the vCard attachment, requesting that they please delete the first email in favor of this new one.  I'm hoping that most will disregard the vCard, though I fear the damage has been done.
    I later discovered that the preferences now include a checkbox for enabling/disabling a "private me card", which allows you to control which content is included in your vCard information.  This is handy now, but I wished the default had been to have vCards turned off / not included automatically, since it was a feature I didn't discover until AFTER my updates had been sent!

    I don't see visible underscores in that login form, but they appear to be entered (that form isn't high enough to show them for me).
    You can verify that in the Scratchpad and use Execute > Display after pasting the below posted code.

    Are you trying to change the email address which forms the login? Or the @icloud.com address you created when you opened the account? You can't change the latter.
    You can change the login address as long as it isn't an @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com address.
    Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
    Create a new email address, for example  at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
    Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
    Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
    Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
    Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
    Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
    I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.

    On each device go to Settings> iTunes and App store> Turn off automatic downloads of Music, Apps and Books.  Now a purchase will only go to the device from which it was ordered.

    I can't find a place where TB directs emails in any account to a default account. Having just changed email addresses. I have have two accounts in my TB program. For each email I receive, at either account, I get a message saying it was forwarded to the old account and is undeliverable, since the isp has shut down that account. How do I change or delete that automatic forwarding? I have not deleted that account from my TB list yet, since I am still working through the files left there to decide whether to move or delete the individual emails. Will simply deleting that old account solve the problem?

    You'll need to login to your account via browser and check the settings for your account.
    There is no such thing as a 'Thunderbird account'. Thunderbird is an email client you use to retrieve mail from an account you setup with your email provider.
