Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro Print to PDF problem
We are trying to us the print to PDF method of PDF creation. In the past you were able to select the PDF job options from under the apple print menu and in the PDF options section. When used under Illustrator or Indesign this would also allow you to choose a save location and name for the pdf file.
We've been using CS1 and are moving to CS3. After a clean install on a test system that Submenu is now gone. Anyone have any ideas? I can have the users manual set the options in Acrobat Distiller first but this seems to make the PDF printer rather useless.
Some additional info
This is on a PPC Mac with OS X 10.4.11 with latest patches. Previously install was Adobe CS1. Removed the Adobe PDF printer, PPD Plugin and PPD file prior to instal. Also removed the Version Cue 1 preference pane and preferences via Adobes Manaul removal script.

I just installed adobe acrobat 9.0.1 Pro and it opens up pdfs and prints fine but when I try to edit text or enter any other command I get an error and it gives the option of cancel to debug or to exit program.
Error message:
The instruction at “0x2b806327” referenced memory at “0x00000348”. The memory could not be “read”.
Click on ok to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
At first it stated that it did not recognize the font but when I looked it up under file, properties, fonts. The font was helvetica (embedded subset) for all the fonts on the pdf file. I have also checked the sercurity tab as well and there is no security on the file.
When I choose cancel to debug it just terminates the program. When I choose ok it terminates the program.
Please help.Maybe your installation is currupt (scratched CD)
Reinstall on another maschine (and clean CD) to validate this case.
Update your Acrobat, maybe the corresponding files are replaced or the error is fixed. -
Help require with installing Adobe Acrobat onto my Macbook Pro Retina.
Help require with installing Adobe Acrobat onto my Macbook Pro Retina.
I have successfully installed all of my creative cloud apps with the exception being acrobat.
I cannot print from Indesign to PDF.
I have unistalled, reinstalled and still no Adobe Acrobat.
I now have to go back to Windows 8 and create the PDF's there.
Any one know how to get around this issue?
Thanks in advance
KelvinOSX has effectively killed the ability to print to pdf, (print to pdf eliminates most of the "Rich features" of current pdf).
Export from InDesign, always, excpet for the 1% of the time where you know why print to pdf would produce a better result. -
Safari 7.0.6, using Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10, isn't rendering pdf files in the Print Preview screen. Additionally, only a single, blank page prints for a multi-page pdf document. Any ideas?
Figured it out. It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat. Here's the fix:
Open Finder/Applications
Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
Quit Safari
Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly. -
Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.2 Print Issues - Windows Crash Error (2 Sided)
Have recently had issueswith our upgrades from 10.1.1 to 10.1.2 in regards to the following:
When printing 2 sided on a Fuji Xerox Firefly C4400 Atheros, application crashes after printing first 4 pages.
Thus, have tried the patch fix that was recommended on cpsid_92870 however this has not fixed the problem.
Have also tried the solution with the duplexing but still same issue, Windows crashes.
Have also tried solution to remove Windows patch KB4332667 and still same issue.
Screen shots will be provided upon request with the errors.
Currently running:
Windows XP SP3
Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.2
Printer Drivers are the latest and over 500 users on network. 485 are working on 10.1.1 which do not have this issue.
Is there any solution or 10.1.3 patch release that will address this issue?
Last Adobe user to work on this was Atul.Sonal2890, thanks for your inquiry and I will try to provide as much information as possible.
1. What happens if inspite of using 'Print on both sides', you check Duplex setting from Properties dialog (As you do previously)?
The Adobe Reader X Shuts down and is unable to print and displays a message stating it has incurred a problem. Please note, we are running IE7.
2. What happens if you print with any other application (Word/notepad)
The documents print fine. IT is only when you print this particular document which is enabled in protected mode and double sided. Have tried the patch and the resolution of unticking the duplex methodology and the issue still persists.
Crash Logs have already been submitted already. Have added the SEnd Error Report that was provided when the error occurs. The PDF stopped printing after page 6 of a 236 page document and provided the error above. -

Adobe Acrobat XI: Error Adobe Acrobat is not activated. Cannot create PDF File.
After installing Acrobat XI Pro on Windows 7 Ent. w/Office 2010.
From MS Word, select Save as PDF, I recieve "Adobe Acrobat is not activated. Cannot create PDF file."
Any and all troubleshooting has failed.
Uninstall Acrobat, language packs, re-install, install updates, Install on fresh image.kglad your link refers to Windows XP. As to the rest it is questionable. First of all it would be nice to know the cause, before fixing the problem. For in some cases eliminating the cause will solve problems later on. So, in my case for ex. The problem did not exist until I protected my Word 2010 document and then saved it to PDF--which it would not allow to do so and giving the error message stated above.

Adobe Acrobat XI will NOT read aloud any pdf files
Ever since I upgraded to Marvericks, Adobe Acrobat XI will NOT read aloud any pdf files. How can I fix this. It previously worked fine.
I create tagged pdf files in InDesign to be compatible with 508 accessibility standards. The files read aloud on a Mac with OS X Lion but not on Mavericks.no, still no resolution. It is very frustrating. I did have one 8 page document that it will read the first page but nothing else.
Did you find an answer? -

Why don't AutoCAD drawings converted by Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro print?
I have been using Adobe Acrobat 6.01 Professional to make PDF files from my AutoCAD 2002 drawings. I email these PDF files to a client who prints them. My drawings are 2D with a 24 x 36 inch sheet size. The Adobe conversion buttons were automatically installed on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar when installed Acrobat 6.01 Pro. When I would make a PDF file I went to the layout view of the drawing, and click the button “Convert to Adobe PDF”. Everything worked GREAT. I would email the PDF drawing files to the client, and they sent them to the printer and produced their hard copy drawings.
A few months ago I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium. After installing this suite my Acrobat 6.01 Pro was replaced by Acrobat 9.1 Pro, and the Adobe conversion buttons were removed from my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar. I now have to either try to create the PDF files from within Acrobat 9.1 Pro, or from within AutoCAD by selecting Adobe PDF as my plot device and plotting them. A PDF file is created with either method which can be opened and viewed as a normal, but neither will print on my client’s printer. When sent to the printer they get a “parsing error.” Also these PDF files are about half the megs of those created by using the conversion buttons on the AutoCAD toolbar for Acrobat 6.01 Pro.
I have up dated Acrobat 9.1 Pro to Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro, and do like the many new features. I set up the recourse path for the text, plot, and styles in Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro. Nothing I tried fixed the problem, so I uninstalled Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro and reinstalled Acrobat 6.01 Pro. Everything is back to normal, and the Adobe conversion buttons are back on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar?
I would like to be able to use Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro because of its new features, but Acrobat 6.01 Pro and Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro can’t exist on my computer at the same time. Is there a fix for Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro? Is there a way to get the Adobe conversion buttons back on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar? What am I doing wrong? I’m running Windows XP and have read about Acrobat 9 Pro includes a Windows-only PDFMaker for AutoCAD. Supposedly PDFMaker runs inside of AutoCAD, but will it run inside of AutoCAD 2002? Is PDFMaker inside of folder with Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro? HELP.
Heli409Over the weekend I wiped my hard drive and did a total clean instal of Leopard (not Snow Leopard) - total clean meaning I had to find all my serial numbers when reinstalling apps. A lot of work.
The problems with InDesign have cleared up, but my Acrobat problem remains. However, I have isolated the problem: it occurs after I have done an "Examine document..." and removed all metadata and other stuff, then resaved the file. I close the saved file and the file closes leaving an empty window (same as a Microsoft Windows window). The little clock mouse icon spins wildly around (forever), I tell Acrobat to either close this window or quit, and it crashes.
Acrobat closes other "unexamined" documents without any problems and thus I have been able to save my toolbars...
Anyone else have this crashing problem? Does anyone have a solution?
Note: if anyone else does a total reinstal of Leopard from Snow Leopard then export your iCal calendars first. They were the only things I lost and this loss was (fortunately) no big deal as they were backed up elsewhere in Leopard. -
Setup
Windows XP SP3 + Office 2007 Pro
Also, tested on Windows 7 64x + Office 2007 Pro
Same Issues.
The steps used are:
1) Open Adobe Acrobat 9.0
2) Click File
3) Combine
4) Merge Files into a single PDF
5) Add Files (select the required files)
6) Combine Files (which then processes and creates single PDF)
Results:
A single PDF is then created and as mentioned is occasionally affected by this issue of random gaps appearing within words.
Expected results:
A single PDF with the same formatting and layout as the original files.
I can not post screenshots of this issue for sercurity concerns but here is an example.
From my word document / or pdf (either way)
Drawing Contents
Fabrication Notes
Bill of Materials
Assembly Notes
Top Assembly Drawing
Bottom Assembly Drawing
Schematics
After the Merging of the files
Drawing Contents
Fabri ation ote
Bi of Materia
A emb y ote
Top A emb y Drawing
Bottom A emb y Drawing
S hemati
Seems like "C" "S" "N" "L" 's are missing
EDIT: isn't constant, so its just not these letters its random
Note: Tested this issue with Acrobat 8, and did not have this issue.
Please Help

I have checked though the Word documents that were used in the most recent merge. They don't have any spaces at these areas or strange formatting. I turned on the Show/Hide option to confirm if there was anything odd but I could not see anything. The formatting (Ctrl+D) shows the default font Arial, Regular, font 12.
The interesting thing is that if it occurs and attempt another file merge the gaps are no longer there. Which makes me think this is unlikely to be the documents and formatting being used and more likely to be a bug in Adobe Acrobat.
Is there anything else that might be of use to know? -
Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 Pro/Standard
Hi
We have a variety of Adobe Acrobat versions, from 8.1.0, 8.1.2 to 9.1.0, on our Windows 2003 Active Dir environment.
We can download and apply upates on each pc; however, our ultimate goal is to assign different versions of updates via Active dir
silently - no need of user intervention.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
