Adobe flash stops playing every ~minute

Title describes the problem pretty well,
Whenever i use any flash (youtube or any other streaming website) it will just randomly stop playing (youtube will show the vid as "finished" but eg. at 20seconds)
Things i've tried:
Reinstalling browser (chrome AND firefox)
reinstalling flash
Running flash player
11.6.602.180
Latest firefox aurora
Latest google chrome (both show problem)
Windows 7 ultimate 64bit

Click to Activate shouldn't cause all of that when the users are "dealing from a full deck".

  • My Sisters PC "Adobe Flash" stops working every few weeks

    I handle support for my 54 year old sister and the "Adobe Flash" add-on is driving me crazy. Every few weeks she gets "Flash out of date" or similar message on top of the videos at Amazon and various other sites. It prompts her to take action with downloads and such which I tell her never to do on any site. It won't play the videos so she calls me to complain.
    We have identically configured PC's and I don't run into this issue (Windows 7-64, current Firefox, etc.) on my PC. The only difference is that I have my Flash set to "Notify me of updates" and hers set to "Do not notify of updates". For security purposes I don't want her downloading and applying any updates for any applications - I do them for her.
    For instance, I updated her Flash on 1-22-2015. In early February she started getting the video error messages again. When this happens I notice inside Firefox the Flash add-on has been mysteriously changed to "Ask to Activate". The other drop-down options like "Always Active" are grayed out. I have to uninstall Flash and reinstall the current version, which fixes the problem for a few weeks. Sometimes it takes me a few days before I can get over to her house so she looses abilities to watch news videos and gets pretty pissed.
    I read someplace in the forum that Firefox disables Flash because it is out of date. However, I never run into this problem. Although I get "Flash Update" notifications on my PC I rarely update it immediately and never experience the same problems she has. In fact, it's probably been a few years since I haven't been able to play a Flash video. This great experience is why I switched her to using Firefox in early 2014. But Flash has been a awesome pain for her ever since.
    Some sites she visits entice the visitor to download an update to get the video to play. They often install nasty toolbars and other crap, which creates a lot of work for me to clean up. This is why she is under strict rules to never download anything related to an application. I guess I can try setting Flash to "Update Automatically" and see if that works for her.

    Click to Activate shouldn't cause all of that when the users are "dealing from a full deck".

  • What HTML code do I need to get Adobe Flash to play an embedded MP4 video file (8 MB)?

    What HTML code do I need to get Adobe Flash to play an embedded MP4 video file (8 MB)?
    Thanks
    Mark

    Here are a couple of ways, one using the Netstream class and the other using the FLVPlayback component.
    For the NetStream approach, the following in the timeline code will play/loop the intended mp4 file...
         var video:Video;
         var connect_nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
         connect_nc.connect(null);
         var stream_ns:NetStream = new NetStream(connect_nc);
         stream_ns.client = this;
         function netStatusHandler(p_evt:NetStatusEvent):void {
             if (p_evt.info.code == "NetStream.Play.Stop") {
                 stream_ns.seek(0); // to loop the video
         stream_ns.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler);
         video = new Video();
         addChild(video);
         video.attachNetStream(stream_ns);
         stream_ns.play("path_to/your.mp4");
    For the FLVPlayback component, add it to the stage, give it an instance name ("fp" used below), assign your mp4 file ("path_to/your.mp4") as the source property in the Properties panel, and select the option to autoplay as well.  Place the following code in the timeline...
         fp.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, playAgain);
         function playAgain(evt:Event):void {
             fp.play();
    To put the Flash swf file in an html page, in the Publish Settings set it to publish an swf and an html page.  Publish the file an the html page will be created for you.

  • Some songs stop playing after minute 1

    I recently purchased some songs from iTunes and the majority of them have this issue, they stop playing after minute 1 or 1:30.

    Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
    If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.
    BTW the tracks that cut short, did you preview each of those for the full minute or minute 30? There's a bit of me that thinks the previews and the short downloads might be related to each other.

  • Firefox keeps preventing Adobe Flash from playing videos?

    I recently downloaded the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player 15 plug in, and now every single time a reload a page (it can be eBay, Facebook, Yahoo Mail, etc.) I get an error message the top of the screen saying that Firefox has blocked it. I am given the option to allow the item to run, and either it be just that time or for the system to remember it. I have chosen to have the system to remember the action, but then when I reload the page it does it all over again. What can I do to get this to stop as it is very annoying and a pain to have to re-click it ever single time.
    Note: I was just promoted to install Adobe Flash Player 16, which I did. I am not sure yet if it will fix the problem or not.

    The only current versions of Flash for Windows and Mac OSX right now are 16.0.0.235, 13.0.0.25'''9''' ESR and 15.0.0.24'''6''' though this version is not readily available for download like the other two.
    So if its saying your Flash 15 version is vulnerable then you likely have the older 15.0.0.24'''2''' or more likely 15.0.0.2'''39''' as the 15.0.0.24'''2''' and 15.0.0.24'''6''' are not listed on [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html archived flash page] yet.

    There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
    *an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only
    *a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox
    *On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
    '''''You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. ''''' If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.

    #'''<u>Using Firefox</u>''', go to the following link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later. Un-check any items on that page that you do not want to download (i.e., "McAfee Security Scan Plus":
    #*http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
    #When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
    #Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
    #*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
    #*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.

  • Flash stops playing sounds, then constant crashing.

    So this only started happening recently and the only thing I can think of that I have recently done is update my Adobe Flash (directly from their website) and Firefox auto updates itself.
    I'll be watching a Twitch steam, browsing YouTube or Tumblr and I'll try and play a video off youtube/tumblr and it'll play with no sound though the Twitch stream I'm watching will still be making sound. So I'll close the browser, reopen the browser, head to youtube, no sound on any videos, nothing from tumblr, nothing from twitch, flash videos won't play beyond the first frame. Close browser, reopen. Constant Flash crashes.
    Only way to remedy this is to reboot entire computer.
    Help?

  • I have to re-install adobe flash for firefox every time i start my computer even if firefox shows that my adobe flash is working it does not.I also get notices from the websites i visit (get flash e.t.c.)

    i have the latest firefox 10.02 in win7 and even if firefox shows is installed my adobe flash is not working so i have to run the flash installer every time i start my pc.After this everything works fine until the next start when i have to run the flashinstaller again

    There are two versions of the Flash Player plugin. One is ActiveX and only works in IE. It sounds like you have that one installed. The other one works in all other browsers.
    What seems to be happening is that you have security software that's blocking one of those versions of Flash/restoring your computer state and so it gets uninstalled when you start your computer. The other possibility is that there are permission issues. Unfortunately, this isn't something that Firefox can control; it's a problem with the Flash installation (Firefox is dumb and just looks in the registry for a list of installed plugins to load).
    Make sure that you're an admin on your computer when you try to install Flash and that you check your security settings. If that doesn't work, try posting to the [http://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer Adobe community forums] to see if other people have had similar issues and know how to address them.

  • Adobe Flash CC hangs every few hours

    Hi, I have this issue since I have started using Adobe Flash CC in my new desktop pc. My Flash Window hangs and I have to force close it every few hours to make it work again. I am just doing some basic tracing work and the file size is not too large. I am using a very high configuration pc and with ample disk space. Attached is the screenshot of how it looks when it hangs. If someone has experienced this issue before please revert with any solution. Thanks

    check your running processes to see if you have an adobe thread that's hanging (other than flash pro).  if you find one, you can usually terminate that and regain control of flash pro without needing to terminate it.

  • Adobe Flash not Playing

    I noticed recently that videos no longer play on various sites, and some state that I need to download Adobe Flash.  I checked and I have it, but completed a clean uninstall and reinstall.  According to some help pages within Adobe verify install I have the current version, and it shows an animation confirming install, but other parts don't.  I have confirmed that the Flash player is enabled.  I am at a complete loss and need help.  One thing that is possible is that the syste requirements no longer meet Adobe's requirements.  I noticed archived versions, but not sure which one to choose that would be compatible.
    Can someone please provide assistance?

    Windows 7 64 Bit
