Adobe form saved from email has no data

Hi.
We generate Adobe Interactive Forms (developed in Adobe LiveCycle 8.0) from our SAP Netweaver environment.  A form is sent to the vendor as an email attachmet and they launch Adobe Reader (or another pdf reader) to acknowledge the form and submit it to our back-end system to save the changes.  One vendor saves the form directly from the email for later printing.  This process has worked for some time but we recently upgraded our SAP system and made some corresponding changes to the form in LiveCycle Designer.  We now see the following issue:
Before the changes, the email attachment pdf could be saved directly from the email without opening Adobe Reader.  After saving, the pdf could be seen in Windows Explorer in preview mode and all fields would be populated.
Since the changes, if the pdf is saved directly from the email without opening Adobe Reader then after saving, if the pdf is viewed in Windows Explorer in preview mode, all fields (from the XML) are not populated but the form template is visible (boxes, buttons, etc.)  Also, if the vendor attempts to print the form using third-party software, the form is printed with no data but the form template is visible.  If the same pdf is opened in Adobe Reader, all data is visible.
Also, since the changes, if an old (created before the changes) pdf is saved directly from the email, the output is visible in Windows Explorer preview as well as print output and Adobe Reader.
Are there any suggestions on what has caused this change in the output from the form?
Thanks for your help.
.. Craig

E-mail submission is client sensitive (this even occurs with HTML forms that use mailto). In Acrobat or Reader on Windows, it uses the default MAPI mail client (if one exists - one of the problems). I have no idea what the requirement is on a MAC, but probably something similar. You need to figure out how to do a web submission to resolve the problems.

  • Adobe Form called from SAP Portal, not executing interface global init code

    Hello!
    I have an adobe form called from both R/3 and SAP Portal and I need to show long text dinamically calculated.
    The deal is at the SAP Portal execution, as scenario characteristics don't allow string definitions, I'm using 255 characters tables (QISR_TAB_TYPE), that I'm trying to convert inside form interface (Global init code).
    The problem is that the interface global init code is being executed when the form is called from R/3, but it is not at SAP Portal.
    Does anybody know how to manage this? It's kind of a problem that the BAdi method int_service_request_init doesn't allow types over 255 characters... and if it is not possible to access the form interface code section (maybe there's any way)... i need to find some code section where i can convert tables before the form context is filled!!
    Thanks a lot!!

    Diana.

  • Photos saved from email & internet

    There is a malfunction of my pictures that I've saved from email. When I go to the camera roll where they are saved (BTW, you can't choose the place in which you save them and you really have no way of telling if it was saved, except to instinctively go to your photos and check on it once you've hit the save button in your email) first of all the images are not clear and the phone freezes up or the screen starts to shake and eventually shuts off or I have to manually shut it off by holding the top and home button simultaneously.
    How can this be fixed, or is this a bug that apple will fix in the next software upgrade?
    I would like to get this fixed asap...any suggestions?

    Check my post. Somebody helped me with this issue. I had the exact same thing happen to me. Try accessing your iPhone, once connected, through My Computer (if you have a PC), then locate the iPhone icon. Once you double-click, the picture will appear. Select the ones you're having a problem with (you saved from an email) and delete them. That's the only way I know how to fix this issue. Other people have the same problem. It seems that if the pic's too big - iphone cannot open it or does not open it correctly, So much for saving pictures taken with a 8 Mega px camera. This should work.

  • Offline Adobe Form using GP - How to save data to SAP

    Hi,
    I have the following requirement.
              o An offline form is sent to different users and when they fill the form and Click on Submit, the data should be saved to SAP.
              o When the data is submitted, it should be recognize the user and multiple clicks if any so that data is not duplicated
    I have used Guided Procedures for this. I have created an Interactive Form callable object with an xdp template and "Create offline Interactive form and send by e-mail" option.
    Problem:
    1. The document emailed to user can be submitted only once. My requirement is whenever form is submitted it should update the previous data.
    2. How to save this data to SAP?
    Version:
    SAP NW SP12
    Adobe Live cycle designer 7.1
    I have gone through various blogs on Adobe Offline interactive forms and GP but I could not get a solution for this. Please help.
    Thank you,
    Vasu

    Hi,
    IMHO there is no easy solution for your requirement. However there is a workaround: you can create so-called "impersonalized" forms. They can be sent or returned as many times as needed from same or different users. However the effect will be that for each form sent out and accepted by GP, GP will start a new GP process. That means that the forms are the first step of such a process - so to say.
    An offline form "in the middle" of a process can be embedded into the process as a dedicated step only. Once this form is returned to GP by the user, the process is continued and 2nd or later form returns are ignored. However there is the possibility to build an additional step into GP to check the input data and if they aren't valid to send out the form to the user once again.
    So you see that there are some possibilities but no straight forward solution for your needs. Hope I could help anyhow.

  • ISR Adobe forms send by email

    Hi,
    is it possible to send ISR Adobe form by email? I would need to feel the form with data and send it.
    Thanks inadvance,
    Anna

    Hi Anna,
    Have you created a form through the HCM Processes and Forms scenario?  If you have, you can send a form from one person to another with form information filled in by the form initiator, but this has to be configured using workflow, and it would only appear in their Workflow Inbox.
    This is a link to SDN eBook on e-mailing Interactive Forms.  This is not done with HCM Process and Forms, but gives you an idea on how to do it...

  • Form size increases when ADOBE Form moved from DEV to QA

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a large PDF ADOBE Form developed in DEV but when I moved this Form to QA environment, I noticed the file size has been Doubled(from 2MB to 4MB). Please note that, this is not an interative Form. Can someone tell me why and how can I fix it. We are emailing this form and 4MB is too large.
    Thanks for your help,
    Cyrus

    Well, after discussing it with SAP, we are still in the dark and don't know why this problem only occurs to one of our PDF outputs. however, the following might help you to cut some times looking for answers.
    1-It started after we changed the values in the Layout properties. We are not sure in which tab. We guess it was  "PREVIEW"
    2-After this, every time we made any changes to the Layout, the size was doubled until it became a major problem
    3-We contacted SAP for this issue and the respond was "Please refer to following note for installation/patches:
    1176858 / 1356871"
    4-We were also asked by ADOBE to download a zip file called "COMMON.zip" and install the COMMON file on our ADS server
    5-After installing the COMMON file on our server we were asked to run the ABAP program "FP_CHK_REPORT" on the FORM.
    6-The suggestion was to only check mark only common-001when running the ABAP, but we check marked all after found no results with only COMMON-001.
    7- check out this link. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/44/35f874b9d74901e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
    8-we did all of the above but we had partial success, it reduced the size fro 7MB to 4MB
    9-Finally, we created the same Form from ground up without touching the Layout properties and the size turned up to be around 100KB.

  • Adobe forms survey became blank and all data is gone

    We used Adobe forms central to create a survey.  We received approximately 105 responses, at which point I saved a copy of the responses in a pdf form to share with our team.  We later logged in to Adobe forms to see if any other respondents had completed the survey and discovered the entire form was blank.  All text, questions, and options were gone.  The only thing remaining was the image in the header.  While Adobe still reported 105 responses all data was gone.  Any help retrieving the data and returning the survey text would be greatly appreciated!

    Please share the form with me ([email protected]) as a co-author. I will see if I can help.

  • Adobe form called from WDA - Translation Problem

    Hi,
    I have maintained French translation for the Adobe form using GOTO->Translation inSFP transaction.
    when i check in the developement system it is working fine.I have captured the translations in transport request using program
    RS_LXE_RECORD_TORDER and moved it to testing system.
    The changes are available in SFP but not visible when we execute the WDA HRASR00_PROCESS_EXECUTE as it is called from this application.
    Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
    As the form is related to ISR scenario in customizing client , I saved the adobe form there and transported customising request which resolved my issue.

  • Handling Submit Button on the ADOBE form called from Web Dynpro

    Hi,
    I have placed a Button on the ADOBE Form. How to Handle the event on this button. When i click this button, i want to save the details of the form into a Custom table.

    Hi Majunath.
    Create an event say, SUB_EVTin the view in WD where you have the Interactive Form UI element.
    Bind this event to the onSubmit of the Form.
    Now check the display type of the form. It will be either ActiveX or Native.
    Now go to the form designer and open Library palette. Navigate to Webdynpro ActiveX or Native Library(Depending on the form display Type in WD).
    Drag and Drop Submit button.
    On click of the button, the event handler in WD view namely, onActionsub_evt will be invoked. You can write your code in this handler.
    Now in order to read data from the form. Go to the form and go to Properties tab. Check the form layout type. If it is not ZCI, run transaction SFP_ZCI_UPDATE and convert the form to ZCI type.
    Now back to the event handler.
    as an example... I will use the following context node definitions
    PDF_DATA  1..1
      ACTUAL_DATA 0..n
        ATTRIB01
        ATTRIB02
    Assume the the node PDF_DATA is bound to the data source of your form.
    Now in the event handler write the foll code
    data: lo_node type ref to if_wd_context_node,
            lt_data   type wd_this->elements_actual_data.
    lo_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this-.wdctx_pdf_data ).
    lo_node = lo_node->get_child_node( name = wd_this-.wdctx_actual_data ).
    lo_node->get_static_attributes_table(
      importing
        table = lt_data ).
    This will get all the form data in the internal table lt_data.
    Now you can process the data the way you want and save it in your custom tables.

    Reema .

  • Adobe Form integration from java webdynpro to ABAP webdynpros

    Developed an Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro for Java. I am trying to find a way to integrate this into ABAP webdynpros. Is it possible to do this. I found this article and it looks like it supports this.
    Before the introduction of the XML-based interface, an ABAP Dictionary-based interface was created for a form during integration of the same. Such an interface, however, was not easily linked to the context of a Web Dynpro component. All the forms created from within the Web Dynpro context are not automatically equipped with an XML-based interface. In certain situations, however, it can be necessary to integrate an old form with a function module-based interface into a Web Dynpro application. The Web Dynpro runtime makes it possible, in principle, to display or print such a form within a Web Dynpro
    application. In special cases, it is even possible to integrate a form of this type in an interactive mode
    Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi there
    Not sure if you mean converting an Interactive form built for WD JAVA into a WD ABAP application
    or just using Interactive forms in general with WD ABAP - certainly this it is possible to use Interactive
    Forms in general with WD ABAP as HCM Processes and Forms is WD ABAP based and uses Adobe interactive forms
    Perhaps the following articles will be of use

  • Saving and sending Adobe Form pdf from WebDynpro

    Hi,
    I'm developing an application which receives data from a RFC to a R/3. The datas are displayed on a pdf-Document in a Webdynpro. This works fine.
    Now I want to send this form as attachment in an email. Do I have to save it first as pdf or can I send it directly?
    On SapHelp I found a tutorial how to save a form as pdf:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/dc/f1783fe3263042e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    I tried out the describtion but without success. I defined an action on the view where the form should be displayed and added the coding in the implementation of the event. In the form I added a button Submit to SAP from the Web Dynpro Library. When I press the button, nothing happens. Do I have to make any changes under Object->Field->Control Type?
    Another question about the coding:
    public void onActionsubmit(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
        //@@begin onActionsubmit(ServerEvent)
              IPrivateResultView.IContextElement contextElement =
                   wdContext.currentContextElement();
              byte[] bytes = contextElement.getPdfSource();
              try {
                   File file = new File("C:
    temp
    example.pdf");
                   FileOutputStream os = new FileOutputStream(file);
                   os.write(bytes);
                   os.close();
              } catch (IOException e) {
                    // do something
                   e.printStackTrace();
              wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getMessageManager().reportSuccess(
                   "You have pressed Submit!");
        //@@end
    The path where the pdf shall be saved is "C:
    temp
    example.pdf", I expected something like "C:\temp\example.pdf" on a windows machine.
    Where will the pdf be saved? On the machine i deployed the application (what about rights for saving) to or localy on the machine I start the app?
    Does anyone knows how to send the pdf by email when saving the form or knows a helpful tutorial?
    Many thanks for your help

    Hi all,
    doing Tutorial 31 from SDN (Interactive Forms using E-Mail) I have a problem with the entries for the smtp-host in the coding.
    I always get the error message:
    Sending failed;  nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.javamail.exception.JavaMailMessagingException: Cannot send message to host xxx:25 using the SMTP protocol.
    //@@begin onActionSendForm(ServerEvent)
    Properties props = new Properties();
    String host = "xxx";
    props.put("mail.smtp.host", host);
    In host I entered the entrie for the smtp i use in Outlook, where it works fine. In the Tutorial i get the errormessage.
    I have an smtp-server from our company with which it works too, but it is not the smtp used by Outlook.
    And i can't use this smtp at my customers.
    Could it be a problem with the used ports or a needed authentication? In the Tutorial is no coding for this.
    Does anyone use a freemailer for this tutorial and have success with the smtp of this freemailer?
    Kind Regards
    Mathias

  • Every File and Email has Same Date

    Hi
    I've seen other similar problems on here but not identical, and nobody seems to have resolved them successfully anyway ...
    All my emails, from different accounts, saved/inbox/stored on own computer/stored elsewhere have the same date, some insignificant date from the past (long before the date I bought the Macbook). I use Thunderbird, but it definitely seems to be a problem with Snow Leopard because it is also true of all the "last modified" etc dates when I try to open files in Microsoft Office - the same date appears every time. I've tried updating Snow Leopard - it doesn't help. Finder shows the file dates correctly.
    I've tried adjusting the "set date automatically" settings and time zones etc, it doesn't make any difference.
    Any suggestions?

  • Need filled form back from user not just data-How?

    I created a static form in LiveCycle.  I want the PDF form back with the data filled in (not just the data) when the user completes the form. How do I do this?

    You need to put a submit button on your form. Then in the submit tab choose the Submit As option to be PDF instead of XDP data file.
    Then you will have to Reader Extend the form to allow for a local save. You can do this in Acrobat under the Advanced/Extend Features in Adobe Reader menu option. Once this is done save the file and distribute the saved version.
