How to send adobe form to spool . i have tried these settings in the Fm 'FP_JOB_OPEN'.

There is a small mistake in your paramers. It has to be
lx_sfpoutputparams-REQNEW = abap_true
to create a new spool job.

Usage error while generating spool for adobe forms

I need to create a function module which would be called from a BRF. The function module must generate an adobe form and sent to the spool.
I get usage error at the call form function module level. could someone suggest if anything is missing in the below code.

Downloading PDF with Adobe form spool

I need to download pdf from the Adobe form Spool number (which have the "TEXT" type).
1. i tried by converting Spool into binary format using FM: CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF.
2. By converting spool inti XSTRING using FM FPCOMP_CREATE_PDF_PROM_SPOOL and converting XSTRING into Binary using FM SCMS_XTRING_TO_BINARY.
But both the ways i got error as "File type not supported or File has been damaged". please suggest

Try to convert Spool into PDF using following report.
RSTXPDFT4
Try to code same in your code to convert to PDF.

Modified adobe form is not updating in to the spool

Now i am working for the adobe forms work, i need to change the header and need to maintain header for all the pages.
i updated successfully for the header but when i am checking in spool it is not showing updated form(it is showing previous form).
the updated adobe form is showing in Preview PDF tab(layout tab) but not into the spool
Please guide me on this issue.

Intially the form created me and that is not moved to quality, so my functional collegue asked to change the header information and it should be display for all the pages.
my previous design as below mentioned.

before it is working good and now we changed on that time onwards it is not showing updated form.
still it is showing the previous form.

Storing the adobe form output permanently just as spool request does...

my requirement is as follows...
1.user runs a transaction which generates an adobe print form..
2.when this happens the generated print form should be stored permanently on the application server just as spool requests are stored....
3.how can i store this adobe form on application server permanently so that the user can directly print that form in future with out executing the transaction..?
please help me as soon as possible....

Hi Sudheer
there is no standard persistence mechanism for a generated PDF. If you need to store the PDF for later usage, you need to create the business logic to do so. Every SAP application and all customers store their documents in different way, which is why it is currently not feasible to provide 'standard' persistence.

Adobe Form via RFC - spool order

Hello experts.
When I'm calling an Adobe Form via RFC I'm not getting the spool order in the target system. The Form is issued with:
fp_outputparams-device = 'PRINTER'.
fp_outputparams-NODIALOG = 'X'.
fp_outputparams-DEST = '5175'.
fp_outputparams-REQNEW = 'X'.
fp_outputparams-REQIMM = 'X'.
fp_outputparams-COPIES = '001'.
If I call the Form function within the target system, the spool order is created.
I'm doing something wrong? Or the spool order could not be created via RFC function call?

There are no exceptions regarding the RFC call. I'm starting to believe that with this approach, I won't get a spool request. Hopefully that isn't a problem for my company.
I'll leave the question unanswered in case anyone comes up with a well-funded answer.

Spool Adobe Form: Print partial document

Hello,
I want print only a part of a ADS spool. In non-ads spool you can print from one page to another page, but with adobe forms, this selection field doesn't apper. Our spool has many pages (~1000) and many documents (~500) in only one spool
How can we print only a part of an ADS spool? (For example if you have a problem and only print form the document in the middle of de ADS to the last document).

With the partslist active, you can select whichever pages you want to print in SP01.
To display the part list first, you need to execute report RSPO0021 in transaction SE38 with the following settings:
Name of the spool option: SHOW_PART_LIST
Select the Activate Entry option.

Displaying Adobe Form through CRM WEB UI

Hi Experts,
Currently I am working on CRM Technical which is very new to me. I've got a requirement to display the Adobe form through CRM WEB UI. The requirement is like this.
In a screen of WEB UI there is a option of OUTPUT preview. When i select the specific billing document and when i click on OUTPUT Preview tab it should display the Adobe Form which was developed in SAP GUI using txn SFP. I have done some R&D on it and i found that an ACTION Profile need to be created for this kind of requirements. But in my research i found only Smartforms can be displayed using the ACTION point.. Could anyone help me out how to display the Adobe Form using the Action......

Hi Robert,
I came across this post after implementing the same solution. It works fine for me in SAPgui, i.e. it creates an entry in the spool which I can priview or print, but when I use the webUI it just opens a new window with a white background and the message 'Error in smartform'.
Nitin, did you manage to come up with any solution? Or did this work for you?

How to get PDF generated by adobe forms on to Application Server

I have a program which gathers data into an internal table. The program then calls function FP_JOB_OPEN (with relevant outputparams). Then it calls the function module name, of the Adobe Form, passing the internal table across. Then the job is closed.
This all works fine and we end up with a PDF file on the spool (type ADSP).
The requirement is, within the program, instead of outputting to the spool, to output the PDF document onto the Application server.
Any help greatly appreciated.

If the PDF spool is already generated then,
You may need to read the PDF data , may be using 'RSPO_RETURN_SPOOLJOB
Once you get the spool data in internal table , use Open Dataset and close dataset to download , see if that works.

How to print adobe form immediately without preview?

Hi, Experts.
I made a WD4A using Interactive Form control
and the app is working fine and displays Adobe Form.
But I meet a new client needs on how to print immediately without display the form.
My client says that "I don't wanna see the form and just print form immediately when I click the print button".
I think there are some option parameters for solving those problem...

Hello Junha,
you need to send the pdf to spool. There's a function module for it as far as I know. Can't remember the
name at the moment and having no access to a SAP system. A good way to find it would be searching
for SPOOL and PDF in the name.

Inserting a Graphic in adobe form using SFP

       by using Form & Interface in SFP Transaction
       i want to display a logo(image) not by using url(not images from hard disk), i want to use the image which is present in the sap (ie., i want to use the images in se78). How can i achieve this????
I used the following procedure, even though i couldnt achieve:
1.      Select an existing node in the context, under which you want to create a graphic node.
       2.      In the context menu of the node, choose Create ® Graphic.
       3.      The system creates a graphic node under the selected node. Enter the required data about the graphic in the Properties window under the form context.
You can choose from the following graphic types:
○       Graphic Reference
Choose this option if you want to insert a graphic from its address (URL). The URL can point to a Web server or to a file system. You must be able to access the graphic at the specified URL. This means that you may have to configure appropriate access rights for Adobe Document Services (ADS). Graphics stored in MIME Repository cannot be accessed through a URL. To use these graphics, choose Graphic Content.
○       Graphic Content
Choose this option if you want to specify graphic content using a field. This field contains all image information at runtime. The graphics must be in MIME Repository.
       4.      The entries you need to make depend on whether you chose Graphic Reference or Graphic Content in the last step.
○       If you have chosen Graphic Reference as your graphic type, enter the URL of the graphic.
Note
In Adobe LiveCycle Designer, you can choose whether the system gets the graphic at runtime, or whether the graphic is embedded in the form. For more information, see the online help in Adobe Designer.
○       If you have specified Graphic Content as your graphic type, you must do the following:
■       In Field, enter a field name from the interface. The field must have the type STRING (graphical data is Base64-coded) or XSTRING (for binary-coded graphical data).

Adobe Form output cropped when sent directly from SAP to printer

I have created an Adobe Form (not interactive) that looks perfectly OK when previewed in Adobe Acrobat viewer but when printed blank margins of 4-5 millimeters are applied on all 4 paper edges. The form was designed with a coloured frame around it but the margins effectively remove most of the frame. The form content is being cropped instead of being compressed inside the margins.
The form has been created with LiveCycle Designer via SAP transaction SFP. I am generating the form from an ABAP program
When the form is printed from the Adobe Acrobat viewer I have the option to set Page Scaling to 'Fit to Printable Area'. This makes the form content being compressed inside the blank margins and the coloured frame remains intact. If I leave the Page Scaling setting as 'None' the output is being cropped as described above.
The real problem occurs when I want to print without previewing first. I need to do that since previewing enables the user to skip printing and the application must know if the form has been printed or not. I have so far found no way to make the printer print on the paper edges or fit the content to printable area. Is there some setting in the output parameters than handles this?
Also there is a need for duplex printing when sending form directly to printer. On help.sap.com there is information about duplex print for SAPscript and Smartforms but nothing for Adobe Forms.

However I need some more specific information to solve this.
Which printer layout settings are relevant for the handling of margins and duplex printing for Adobe Forms?
I have not set up the printer myself but when talking to the printer guy which settings should I recommend him to look at?
I can see in transaction SPAD that there are settings specific to SmartForms but there is nothing said about Adobe Forms. Is there some way to make Adobe Forms related setting appear in SPAD for a device type?
Maybe my problem is not related to the printer device settings but rather to the way the printer is being called. When printing duplex we will have to override the default settings of the printer anyway.
Function module FP_JOB_OPEN has a parameter structure of the type SFPOUTPUTPARAMS. Which fields in this parameter structure are to be manipulated to get duplex print and output fitted to page size?
