Adobe Forms without spool

Is it possible generate pdf into xstring without spool? The task is mass generating pdf files, about 100 per day. Any idea?

Ok, here is the one variant, but i think it also create any jobs, work for me faster then standart algoritm pdf output:
1. We need two files XFD with the outputdata and XDP of our PDF Form.
2. XFD we can generate by transformation.
3. And the code:
DATA: l_fp             TYPE REF TO if_fp,
      l_pdfobj         TYPE REF TO if_fp_pdf_object,
      l_xft            TYPE xstring,
      l_xfd            TYPE xstring,
      pdfresult        TYPE xstring,
      l_dest TYPE rfcdest.
MOVE cl_fp=>get_ads_connection( ) TO p_dest.
* get FP reference
  l_fp = cl_fp=>get_reference( ).
  TRY.
*   create PDF Object
      l_pdfobj = l_fp->create_pdf_object( connection = p_dest ).
*   set template
      l_locale = p_loc.
      l_pdfobj->set_template( xftdata = l_xft locale = l_locale ).
*   set data
      l_pdfobj->set_data( formdata = l_xfd ).
*   tell PDF object to create PDF
      l_pdfobj->set_task_renderpdf( ).
*   execute, call ADS
      l_pdfobj->execute( ).
*   get result
      l_pdfobj->get_pdf( IMPORTING pdfdata = pdfresult ).
ENDTRY.

  • How to print Adobe Forms without the black/gray backgrounds in the side columns

    How can we print Adobe Forms without the black/gray backgrounds in the side columns? We are wasting a lot of ink printing out these forms and would like to have simply black ilnes to distinguish columns and black lettering, but no background colors.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I am not positive what you are printing from but I am thinking it is from the View Responses tab with a response row selected and then shown in "Detail View" and that the column of field names has a dark grey background...
    To change the color of the column headers select the row of headers (do this by clicking on the first dark grey header field and then scroll to the last one and shift+click on the last one), then in the "Text" tools change the text color to Black and the Fill color to white:
    (Selected the header cells)
    Changed the text/font color to black and the fill color to white
    Now you can see the detail view does not have the dark grey.
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Dear Kiran,
    There is a small mistake in your paramers. It has to be

  • Adobe form print - ADS - without Java engine

    Hi Experts,
    Is it possible to use the ADS (Adobe Document Service) to print Adobe form WITHOUT active Java (J2EE) engine? If yes, how can I manage to work?
    What about using the Virtual Machine Container (VMC) for this purphose?
    Currently when I select the document template at runtime the following error message comes up:
    "Error in creating PDF from template: Invalid HTTP connection: ADS"
    At help.sap I have read that the ADS runs in Web AS Java. Is it really impossible to print Adobe form without active Java engine on our CRM 7.0 EhP1?
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Gabor

    Hi,
    Referring to the [help.sap|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/37/504b8cbc2848a494facfdc09a359b1/frameset.htm] link under section 'Running Adobe Document Services' the question is answered.
    So the  SAP NetWeaver AS Java is a must for ADS.

  • MessageBox on Adobe Form in SAP MSS PCR for SAP ECC 5.0

    Hello,
    I have a question regarding the behavior of Adobe form messagebox in SAP HR MSS PCR (Personal Change Request)
    I tried to test how the messagebox looks like, and so I created a PCR scenario with an Adobe form. This form contains a datetime field. I added the script "xfd.host.messageBox("this is message", "this is title") to the "exit" event of the datetime field. Then I did all the necessary steps so that this PCR is displayed in the Portal.
    Now at the runtime, when I select a date value from the datetime field, the messagebox is displayed, BUT within an empty Adobe Reader page. It is not displayed on the top of my adobe form.
    But the strange thing is that when I use tab key to navigate through the datetime field, the messagebox is displayed on the top of my adobe form, without the empty Adobe Reader page.
    I also tried my script with several different event types, including "Change", and "Validate", it behaves the same way. But when I tried it with the event type "MouseExit", no empty Adobe reader page is shown up at all (of course, this is not the right event type for me)
    The environment is SAP ECC 5.0, SAP MSS business package for ECC 5.0, SAP Portal 7.0 (NW 2004s), Adobe LiveCycle 7.1, and Adobe Reader 8.1.1
    Has anyone experienced this? I'd really appreciate any comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Harrison

    Antony,
    The Adobe Reader version is 8.1.1
    Just wondering if you used messageBox in interactive forms with ISR framework, and it worked well for you?
    Thanks.

  • Adobe form to replace smartform in SRM 7

    Hello,
    We are in the process of utilizing the adobe server for form processing in our SRM 7 environment. In SRM 5.0 we have some custom Z smartforms for SRM documents. I am having the following questions:
    1) What are the steps to do a "smoke test" to make sure the adobe server is working as it should?
    2) Is there a graceful way of transforming the smartforms into adobe forms without re-designing them?
    3) What are the steps to configure the system so that the it prints adobe form instead of the smartforms? (I have read note 1264423. It doesn't seem to have too many details.)
    4) If adobe form would be exclusively used in SRM 7, is BADI BBP_OUTPUT_CHANGE_SF still relevant or should we deactivate it?
    Thanks.

    I think my question has been answered by this help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c8/4adf7ba13c4ac1b4600d4df15f8b84/frameset.htm
    What I didn't realize is this:
    By migrating Smart Forms, you can reuse them as PDF-based print forms. You can find the Smart Form migration tool in transaction SMARTFORMS.
    I have tried the migration tool. It did convert the old smartform to the new form/interface, but not without many errors. But at least we know that we don't have to start from scratch.

  • Adobe forms with out Java stack

    Hi all,
    Can we install and use Adobe forms without portal. i.e can we install interactive forms on the ABAP stack, develop them and use the same?
    HEre is the actual requirement. We want to implement some interactive forms and we do no thave the Java stack built up and probably it is too late to build a java stack.
    regards

    Sameer,
    You can develop forms in your ERP system (ABAP stack) and can still run it without portal. But you will require JAVA stack as Adobe Document Servcies (ADS) can ONLY be configured on JAVA stack.

  • Retrieve Data from the Webservice through Data connection in Adobe Form

    hi
                                            i done Student ejb application
    i.e, Create,Update,Retrieve,Delete operation. I create the WebServices to these operations. Present  i connect the webservice through data connection . create operation is done successfully, but i dont know how to retrieve the the student details through data connection. how i can bind the retrieve values to the table in adobe form .how to bind from webservices to adobe form without context node.

    I had the same problem in SAP B1 2007. Report worked fine except when it was open from B1. Generally there may be different problems. In my case the same problem was caused by using some procedure which was in a specific schema. Changing the schema into "dbo" solved the problem.

  • Adobe Form Digital Signature using WDA

    Hi,
    I have implemented Interactive Adobe Form using WDA, with one Signature Field.
    I need to set and verify the status of the Digital Signature.
    1) Is it possible to sign the Adobe form without the user selecting the Digital Id, basically what is needed to implement automatic signatures (setting and verifying)?
    2) Once the data is filled online, the form is to be distributed or downloaded. How to apply security parameters to Form in this case (like pass protected etc). From SAP documentation, I understand we need to use Adobe Policy Server. Can we install this server on the Java stack of SAP WAS. Are there any other alternatives to implement such features?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Chitrali Shah

    I realize there is quite a bit of crossover between the two topics, but becuase you want to know about digital signature and specifically offline security; this question would probably be better asked in the Adobe Interactive Forms forum:
    SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe
    However I'm not going to lock the thread, as the WDA forum you will find many Forms experts as well and might find a solution.  I just think you might have better luck in the other forum. This is perhas a rare case where double posting would be appropriate as long as you go back and update both threads with any solutions.
    It sounds like you may have already found it, but about all I can offer on the subject is the link to the latest version of the online help on the subject:
