Adobe non-support

I'm a registered Dreamweaver MX 2004 user. I'm completely
unable to get support from Adobe with a re-install issue.
Meanwhile, my professional, paid web management hours are flowing
down the drain.
Is it just me, or have the worst fears of all Dreamweaver
users actually come true? I used to be able to call Macromedia
support and get a prompt, courteous answer. Good luck calling Adobe
for any kind of support. 1. Worst music on hold of any support line
I've ever called. 2. No notification of time to response. 3.
Repeated hang-ups after pressing "1" at initial menu.
Chat support is no better. It is automated, uses artificial
intelligence, and doesn't respond to any but the most basic
questions; instead, users are referred to the phone support line.
Did Kurt Vonnegut design Adobe's help services? Even Microsoft does
a - much - better job.

Do you have a receipt or PO copy from your original purchase?

    i've spent hours downloading a product and serial # doesn't work. now they want me to deinstall ALL ADOBE products and resinstall them.  it will take hours.  as if i have nothing better to do. adobe customer supoprt sucks!!!

    I just want to add in my experience, in case someone from Adobe is paying any attention, which I seriously doubt. Do a web search for "Adobe customer support terrible" and you could check out links FOREVER. It's been two weeks since I raised my issue -- the ridiculous gray sound player box that appears in interactive PDFs, and still no resolution, and of all the "support" people I talked to -- at least 6 -- only one understood my problem.
    I've been trying to get what I think is either a bug or some obscure file issue looked into and it's been painful just getting to someone who is even mildly familiar with the software. The routine is always the same. You get someone on the phone (the "wait in the cue and we'll cal you option is by far the way to go, having already experienced the ridiculous hold times you get by just calling) who knows nothing about the software, they put you on hold for a LONG TIME to ask someone who knows almost nothing about the software, then they come back on the line, thank you repeatedly for your patience, and either tell you that the problem is with another application (which doesn't make sense), refer you to another ridiculous Adobe non-support center, or suggest something so ludicrous that you're ready to have a coronary. If you demand to talk to someone else, the supervisor is always "on the line" with another customer (i.e., sleeping because it's 3 AM in Mumbai). I have gotten a "supervisor" once, who also had to "consult" with another "expert" and couldn't resolve or explain anything about my problem. He says he's escalating my issue, but this means that the person at the next level up, which I assume means someone who might have actually used the software, will be communicating BY EMAIL with him, not me. And I get to wait another four days for the potential of some word on the issue because it's Thursday, meaning Friday in India, and they don't work on the weekend. So I might get more information, or I might just blow my entire project because there is no support whatsoever for Adobe products. I am a professional. I am not a moron. I have been using Adobe products since they started making them. I rely on this software for my income. This is unacceptable and there is no recourse because Adobe owns it all.

    I'm not familiar with this product, so I can't comment on it.
    PDF files can get corrupt when sent via email using a wrong encoding, for example. To prevent it zip them up before emailing them.
    Or it could be any number of other reasons, like a faulty hard-drive, download problems, etc.

  • Adobe Customer Non-Support??

    I see no other place to post about but since the product I bought was their Adobe Reader Pro 9.0 this is where I will start.
    I just purchased 9 volume license copies of their Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Professional.  Through their World Wide Licensing site I retrieved my S/N.  I plug it into my 30 Day trial and it comes up invalid.  I've looked on their site and haven't found anything that really seems to apply.  So I called the support number thinking I'm missing something very simple and this is where the fun begins.....
    8:45am-9:30am - Customer Support - 800-833-6687 - Unknown.
    Talked with support trying to give him my e-mail address.  He was having a hard time understanding even as I was giving verbal examples.  We "mysteriously" became disconnected.
    9:30am-10:00am - Customer Support - 800-833-687 - Unknown.
    This person was a little better but she ended up passing me on after validating my information and Serial Number
    10:00am-10:30am - Adobe Pro Support - 800-3623 - Unknown.
    Once again this person was hard to understand.  He validated my information and Serial Number then said could not help me and pawned me off.
    10:30am-11:20am - ? Support - 800-???-???? - Leah.
    She verified my information & Serial Number and said she couldn't help.  Pawned me off.
    11:20am-11:30am - ? Support - 800-???-???? - Arpeet.
    He validated my information & Serial Number and said it wasn't his department.  Pawned me off.
    11:30am-1:30pm -and counting............. - Volume Licensing - 800-443-8158 - ??3

    Same issue here.  This is crappy service for expensive products that we paid for and didn't get off a warez site like everybody else seems to.  Lost original DVD (not Adobe's fault).  Can't get replacement DVD from original reseller or Adobe.  Told by adobe that if I purchased download link originally I can login and download.  I didn't.  Told that can't download as a result because they no longer have the files.  Well if they don't how come I can still login and download if I originally purchased a link?  The files are there somewhere if they can still be downloaded by some individuals, like Adobe would throw away the files after two years, give me a break!
    Good customer service would be to have all purchased versions avail to properly licensed customer online for download,  PERIOD!
    Things happend, buildings burn, theft etc.  Help your customers continue doing business Adobe!  Not everyone can upgrade on every micro updated version of your products, some of us have to skip a version to make a living.
    This whole thing smells like a force it down you throat upgrade path scenario.  Totally redicoulous in this day and age.  Shame on Adobe.  Adobe, state a good reason for this (I can't see any) or come clean and say you are being difficult on purpose!
    By the way, If anyone has Design Premium CS3 volume media it would be appreciated.  I can return the favor, we still have our Mac Design Standard and PC Master media.  Or is this against the EULA to copy the disc and distrubute what we rightfully own???  Geez what a joke this is...

    I have an iMac that meets system requirements.  I have downloaded CS4 from Adobe and when I try to install it says "Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance."  This happens while it is checking the system profile.  I have read many forums and tried the following:
    Re-downloading the software
    Moving the download to an external drive to install
    Deleting all Adobe programs on my computer
    Clearing all caches
    Installing in safe mode
    Verifying the disk
    Creating a new administrator and then installing
    Attempting to re-install after the error
    None of these options have seemed to make a bit of difference. If there is another option could someone please share?  Adobe said they will not ship actual discs although I own the program.  They have yet to be able to help me when I have called.

    I have heard that Adobe will support the 7200 in full and that it's only a matter of time. It seems, if what I was told is true, that even stand alone (non-subscription) versions of CS6 will also receive this updated support for the 7200. Now of course this was in response to a question I posted on their Facebook page but I feel it's probably legit. I think these big companies take their social media presence fairly seriously. And then again it could have been a teenager skipping school that was responding for all I know. Anyhow here's what I'm doing until said support shows up. Seems to work well and I still have access to all my tools.
    I use Nikon's Capture NX-D which I downloaded for free from Nikon's site. Easy install and reads the 7200's RAW files just fine. It's a bit clunkier to me than CameraRAW but that could just be a learning curve/familiarity issue more than anything. Capture seems to do an okay job of processing the RAW files and most of the familiar tools are there but honestly I've done very little RAW editing with the software. Instead what I do is make sure the image is not too far off in any particular direction but is instead fairly well exposed. If not perfectly, right? From there I use the NX-D to convert the RAW file to a TIF as has been suggested by others. Then I open Adobe Bridge CS6 and point it at the folder containing these newly created TIFs. Once those Tifs are up on the board in Bridge I right click on the one I want to work with and instruct the software to 'open in CameraRAW' and viola! My TIF is now open in CameraRAW and I can use all the tools as if I were working with a DNG or NEF. Once to this point the workflow goes back to normal.

Abbiamo Provveduto a scaricare il software dal sito Adobe con il nostro accesso, e abbiamo installato il prodotto in circa 20 Pc e tutto ha funzionato alla perfezione.  Adesso invece, nonostante i supporti (2 hd esterni) e il codice siano gli  stessi, nelle altre installazione che abbiamo provato ad effettuare,  dopo aver fatto partire l’eseguibile e convalidato l’accesso ed  il seriale, l’installazione si interrompe rilasciando una finestra con Scritto: •

    Antoniettav49055102 what is different on the two computers which are not accepting the serial number?  Was a system restore performed?  Were Adobe Creative products previously installed?

    When will Adobe Muse support ordered and unordered lists instead of forcing users to create manually formated bullet points? I've asked this question before, but never saw an answer to it. I know others have asked it as well. Adobe has set a high bar with its other solutions. It doesn't look good that Muse does not support ordered and unordered lists at this late date.

    My perception of the forums and response from Adobe is based upon looking at most of the postings in the "bugs" forum. There are lots of reads, very few replies.
    Given the fact that many users have asked about bullets and other basic text formating I am surprised that there is still no sign of them. Perhaps it is felt that there are workarounds that will do. The truth is, as you noted, that none of the workarounds are great, some are not even practical. For my specific case, I would have been happy to use workaround #1, except that the line items were hyperlinks, and I needed to open them in a separate window using the javascript window.open function. As I've detailed in other posts, there is a real problem with this in Muse. Hyperlinked javascript calls are invoked via the "href=" attribute, but this doesn't work properly in a number of browsers. There isn't a way to tell Muse to use onclick instead (which works for all browsers). This led me to have to use embedded html.
    That leads me to try #2, which is to use CSS styling in the embedded html. This too gave me fits. Using a <style> section to set the attributes for <ul> or <li> did not work. I can only assume that the tags inside the embedded HTML have a Muse-generated id or class. I tried to get the bullets by setting the list-style-type in the <ul> tag itself using the style attribute, but this did not work (it should). It does work if you put the list-style-type in the <li> tags. This is pretty tedious, and led me to create text files containing the html separate from Muse so that I can use an editor to copy repeated strings. Then I cut and paste into the embedded html container.
    Note that, even though I finally found something that works, it is not visible in the design view, so you can't even tell it works without previewing it!
    I haven't tried option #3, but given the need to force the use of onclick I imagine that would not be possible with your widget. I was aware of the list widget however.
    I'll have to look at the Mucow docs and give it a try. The docs are a bit light - any plans to flesh them out?

  • Adobe non-Cloud Based Applications Will Not Stay Licensed

    Hi All - been banging my head against the wall on this problem for days.  5 hours with Adobe Chat support has made the problem much worse.  I have InDesign CS6, Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements 12, as well as Acrobat X Standard on my PC.  They are all bought from Adobe on-line, and have worked fine for months.  Suddenly, every few times I launch any of the aforementioned applications the Application Manager pops up and says that the software is in trial mode, and I can either continue in trial mode or enter a serial number.  Entering the number allows the app to run 3-5 times before it again reverts to trial mode and forces me to re-enter (again) the serial number. 
    Endless hours with tech support has gone nowhere.  They all focus on the SLCache folder and making it universally accessible, which it is already, and in any case that was never touched before this started,  A few other file deletions they did only made things worse.  The problem was initially only with InDesign, and now it is on all the apps.
    One last piece of data - all of these applications are upgrades of previous versions that I had.  I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the apps, and even have gone so far as re-installing the older app and then installing the upgrade app.  Same behavior.
    Anyone have any idea what I can do?  This is killing my ability to work.  Thanks.

    I did review the case notes and I would concur with the suggestion of removing all installed Adobe Creative applications.  All of the referenced applications utilize the same licensing system.  Only with a complete removal can the SLCache and SLStore folders be safely removed.  I would also recommend the use of the CC Cleaner Tool after removal of all Adobe Creative applications and Adobe Acrobat X Standard.  You can find details on the use of the CC Cleaner Tool at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
    If you need a new copy of the retail installation files they are available at Other downloads.  I reviewed the registered software titles under your account and they are all for retail licenses.
    It wasn't completely clear from the case notes or your post 1949live.  What occurred on the computer prior to this issue occurring?  Was the security software updated or a new security software title installed?  Was a system restore/migration performed?

  • Satellite U300 connected to TV - Non supported video format

    I am using Toshiba Satellite U300-15q and it has a vga output so i bought a cable and a box that transfers te analogue signal of vga to digital of hdmi so that i can connect it to my 32' TV Sony make.
    But if i connect it it says on the tv in yellow letters non supported video format.
    Why is that and how can i fix it ?

    In the whole story problem is that you use third part hardware or software so this described issue has nothing to do with your Toshiba notebook or Toshiba in general.
    On notebooks side is important that video signal is sent on proper way. What happen later and why this signal is not transformed correctly is matter of this box.
    Which box do you use?
    In my opinion you should contact manufacturer of this box and their support. They should know how it works and how to fix this.
    Generally speaking, Toshiba has nothing to do with this problem.

    please note, that i am new to muse, this is my first project ever.
    my idea is as following:
    when the customer comes to our companies site, he just sees our logo on a white Background. the logo consists of, say, four elements. when the customer scrolls down, the logo starts to disassamble: first the first part of the logo flies out the left side of the site, then the second part of the logo vanishes down, then the third part of the logo flies to the right, then the fourth part of the logo flies to the top and out of the customers view. given what i have seen, it is possible to do that….
    so…..
    now i have the four parts of my logo imported as png files into muse and assembled them in design view to build our companies logo. I select every one of the four parts and go into the scroll effects tab left beside the layers tab. first i enter the same values for every one of the four parts: initial motion: 0x and 0x again for the left and right motion; key position ( t-handle) : 0px; final motion: 0x and 0x again for the left and right value.
    now i hit "preview".: the logo is "pinned" at the correct position, i can scroll but the logo stays where it is. so far so good….
    now i select all the four elements again and go to the scroll effecs tab. at "final motion", i click the down arrows and enter 1x. I hit Preview…
    when i am scrolling down the WHOLE logo goes down…. so far so good.
    NOW i want the first part of the logo to go down, THEN the second part to go left, THEN the third part to go up, THEN the fourth part to go right.
    so i select ONLY the first part, go to the scroll motion tab, at "final motion" i click the left arrows, then i enter 1x.( the up-down value, i set to 0 again).. i hit Preview…
    the first part of the logo goes left as soon as i start scrolling, the other three parts still go down at the same time…
    NOW i want the second part of the logo to start moving, when the first part has left the scene, not at the same time as the first part.
    SO I SELECT THE SECOND PART AND DRAG ITS T-HANDLE (KEY POSITION) DOWN TO, LETS SAY, 200PX. SO IT STARTS MOVING ONLY AFTER THE CUSTOMER HAS REACHED THAT POINT, RIGHT?
    BUT WHEN I PREVIEW THAT ****, THE LOGO IS NOT TOGETHER ANYMORE, THE SECOND PART IS FLOATING ANYWHERE ELSE BUT WHERE IT SHOULD BE…..WTFF????
    short: when i move the t handle, the initial position of the object changes. thats what i said to the adobe employee, but he said, that thats the expected behavior….
    but if thats so, how can i have my four parts correctly together, so they form my logo, but with different t handles, so that they all start to move at different times??
    Pleeease help me, i am dying of frustration here…..:( that behavior cant be right, right?

    But i really wonder how you did that. did you always switch between design view and preview view, then change the key position for 2px then switch back, to align the four letters? because i imagine that can get really frustrating, if you have a logo consisting of 58 parts instead of 4!:)

    i had to take my photoshop file into a hardrive because my dad was going to give me a new Mac and when things didn't work out and went back to my old one i use the time capsule thing to save everything before but didn't give me photoshop so i physically moved the file and tried to open it but then this error shows up
    Please uninstall and reinstall the product.
    If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

  • Adobe Application Support folder missing files

    When I start up my Photoshop CS5.1 on my Mac I get an Adobe Photoshop Screen that says "One or more files in the Adobe application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
    I have done the reinstall but I still get this message.
