Adobe PDF Menu in Word casues application crash

The Adobe PDF menu is Outlook and Excel 2003 work fine, but Word 2003 crshes every time I use it.  It started about the time that patch 9.5 came out.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003 and have done the same with Acrobat 9.  At the 9.0.0 level the new install also crashes.
When it happens it hs saved the word file and asked where to save the pdf, then it starts the herk-nd-jerk process and then Word dies and tries to restart.   No PDF file is ever made.  The acrobat writer works, but is far less functional.  Please advise on how to fix this problem.

I guess your Adobe PDFMaker is  has got Corrupted.  Try repairing the program by removing the Adobe PDF printer from Devices & Printers
( printers and faxes - XP ).
Else, try to update till 9.5.2 and check if it works for you...

I've installed Acrobat 9.1.2 and the "Adobe PDF" menu choice does not appear on the Excel 2000 Menu.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Microsoft Office option in PDF Maker with no change.  It does appear on the Word 2000 Menu.  Adobe 8.1.3 shows on all apps of Microsoft 2000 (on different computers.)

According to Version Compatibility of Acrobat PDFMakers Office 2000 is not suupported by Acrobat 9.

signed up twice for adobe pdf export to word and still not working - anyone else have this problem?

    In XI.
I can’t just export to word as I have done in the past in one simple click.
Convert to button is greyed out.
Now I have to save the pdf file on c drive when I am in outlook…then goto export pdf file…then find file then export to word.
I bought new computer with windows 8 (which is awful) and then bought pdf export again…
Any thoughts on how I can get back to one simple click again when I open a pdf file from an email in outlook?

  • No Adobe PDF menu in Office 2000 after installing Acrobat 9

Hello everybody, I have an urgent problem.
Preliminaries: I use Windows XP (SP3), with 2 GB RAM. Until yesterday, I had an installation of Adobe CS2 Premium. Acrobat 7 professional comes with the PDFMaker plug-in for Office, so I could create PDF files directly from Word... and all was well.
But: yesterday, I installed Adobe CS4 Design Standard *without removing CS2 first* (after having made sure this was possible -- for the time being, I'll have to run Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign CS2 'parallel' to their CS4 cousins, as I'm in the middle of a large project). I was aware of the fact that Acrobat is a 'jealous' program, and that installing Acrobat 9 Pro (which is shipped with my version of CS4) would uninstall ('upgrade', the CS4 installer calls it) the previous version of Acrobat. OK, no problem... or so I thought.
However, I now no longer have an "Adobe Acrobat" menu or tool bar in Word (nor in Excel, nor in any other Office 2000 application). Apparently, the PDFMaker plug-in isn't installed (or doesn't work with Office 2000?).
So -- what should I do? There's a PDFMaker folder in the Acrobat 9 folder tree, but I have absolutely no idea how to proceed. Is there any way to install the plug-in manually?
And, if the PDFMaker plug-in does not work with Office 2K, are ther any other Office plugins out there to help me create PFD files directly from Word?
    Any help is highly appreciated.

Just a quick follow up; I had seen several fixes that directed the user to click on the help menu, then choose "disabled items" then enable the pdf item...the only problem was that when I clicked on the Help menu, there was nothing referencing "disabled items"! In frustration, I finally called Adobe tech support, and the person I spoke with had me click on Help, then About Microsoft Office Word...lo and behold! at the bottom right was a button labeled "disabled items". Problem solved; hope at least one person reads this and avoids the frustration of looking for something in the wrong place.
    Ok, so it wasn't a quick follow-up...sorry!

  • Cannot print to Adobe PDF printer from Word after upgrading to Win 7 64bit

Hi. After upgrading my operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7 64 bit, I can no longer print to the Adobe PDF printer (e.g. from Word). It just sits in the Adobe PDF printer queue saying "Error" without bringing up the "Save As" dialog box, and nothing happens. I am running Adobe Acrobat 8.0.0 (I've checked for updates but it says none are available). I have tried doing a repair installation following the instructions on this website (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-file-adobepdf-dll-needed.html) but to no avail.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I think it's time to upgrade. 64-bit systems weren't much in use at the time of Acrobat 8.0.

  • Adobe pdf graphics in Word

i am trying to create a snapshot of a graphic and paste it into word 2010. however it is either blured of too feint. please can someone help me setup adobe so i can do this

There is not a simple clip from a PDF file (other than the snapshot tool that clips at the screen resolution -- probably your problem).
A relatively easy way to get what you need, but with a few steps, is to open a new blank document from the file menu in Acrobat. Then go to the original file and use the object touchup tool (maybe the select tool also will do it) and copy the graphic to the blank PDF. Then use Advanced>Document processing to Export All Images. That should pretty much be the original image (I save as a TIFF usually) that can then be imported as an image to WORD.
If you have a graphic in file that had been created from WORD 2007 and later, then you may have an issue that the image has been broken into multiple parts. That appears to be a gotya from MS.

  • PDF-maker causing Word runtime error crash since Acrobat update

Acrobat X updated last week, and the first time I used it it asked me whether to enable the PDF-maker plugin/add-on. I said yes, and ever since, about every second time I open Word I get a runtime error and it crashes. The Acrobat toolbar is not available at this point in Word (2003), and I can't find anywhere to disable the PDF-maker plugin in either Word or Acrobat. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Look up on Google: Microsoft Answers.  when you go to sight  create an account (free) then sign into the PC section and go to either the Word, Excel, or Power Point forum (dpends upon what application your asking for).  ask  your question Ther are sveral Sharp people  that can answer. Read all the information. If you see any with the letters under their MVP (Micrsoft Valuable Person) give highest weight to their answers. Next any people with MCC asociated with their names also take into consideration. Then  if their answers don't help try advice from average people. Please be sure to go back Mark answered, and check which item is the answer or helpful. MS actually uses thes marks to Grade the MVP's and MCC's. BTW on the Mac Groups which is separte section altogether, I'm listed as a MCC. And Moderator will move questions to proper groups say if a Mac User stray's into a PC Group or vice versa.  They realize That PC Users and Mac users have nothing in common and to preven issues they are segregated for their own good.  (Unlike a certain companies forums that shall remain nameless).

  • Log in required dialog box when we Save as Adobe pdf from MS Word 2010. And error from PDFMaker

We have started to get this error when we "Save AS Pdf" from for instance Microsoft Office Word and Excel 2010. Adobe Acrobat is Customized with the Customization tool to provide licence and activation and distributed with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012. The deployment has been working fine until recently when I started getting questions about this from our users. I looked into this article: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-pdf-creation-cannot-continue.html but it seems outdated so I can not follow.

It sounds like you have a bunch of 64-bit machines and did not do the update (11.0.0). The updates are needed for both 64-bit systems and for Office 2010 as I recall. I know that Office 2013 definitely requires the update. Glad it worked for you, but now you have to figure out how to update all the machines.

  • Why adobe pdf file to  word converter professional online  is not available in India where ADOBE as a company itself has established such large offices in Bangalore etc...its ridiculous to see messages on cloud.adobe that some services are not available i

    Document Cloud PDF services

Thank you for your responses.. To Sjazbec, At least you guys in Germany and the Netherlands have some kind of  posters from Apple to let you know that the feature is not available.
There is no such warning on the Irish Apple site.!
My point was that, I would not have even considered trying to reorganize my itunes library had I known that the feature is not available in Ireland.
And that falls into the domain of Apple Ireland advertising.. which I"m sorry to say is false and misleading.
There are no "posters" telling the Irish customer that icloud / itunes music is not available!
I"m not blaming Apple for not "having the feature" in Ireland.. I am upset at them for falsing advertising a feature that they cannot for whatever reason deliver to Irish customers..
To Keats 2010 LOL... Trust me there were lots of clouds in Ireland today!.. It's a long time since we've seen the sun!.. As for getting your head around the basics.. I could talk you through everything that doesn't work in Ireland if it's any help lol

  • Problem with "Save as Adobe PDF format" in Excel and Word

    Hi
When I use printing zone in Excel and make a «Save as Adobe PDF format» (menu File / Save as Adobe PDF), the first save is well done. But when I make it a second time, what's not in the printing zone is printing in the document.
I have also problem with the «Save as Adobe PDF format» in Word. The images superposition are not well print.
I'm using Windows 7 in french, Office 2010 french and Adobe Acrobat XI standard. All is in the latest version.
    Thanks

The Save As PDF feature in Office2008 Call up a PDF  Creator similar to the AdobePDF Print Driver. whch OX.6 can't use.
To create Pdf you have to use method used:
    http://indesignsecrets.com/acrobats-adobe-pdf-printer-replaced-in-snow-leopard.php
Not before you attempt to use this method if  Rossetta is not installed. pop in your Systems DVD and install Rosetta. Then follow directions to install the Adobe Quality PDF Automator Script which will show up in the Print Menu. Click on Print > then click PDF. Then Click on Adobe quality PDF.  AS for setting up Job options and other details Supposedly your suppose to  have access. But I have no idea.
First thing Rosetta should be installed out of the box. and Second Adobe should install this Script from their installer. So their should be no intervention from the user. it should just work. Early report when OSX.6 first came out almost no one was able to get this to work. and I see periodic reports that people still can't get it tork and they have to to resort to saving as .ps files then droping on distiller.
    Good luck.

  • Word 2007 "Save as Adobe PDF" - Pictures not showing up in PDF

    Good Afternoon,
I have run into this error recently when using the "Save as Adobe PDF" to publish Word 2007 report.
Each report has an table - pasted from Excel 2007 "as a picture - when printed". The reports have a ton of other jpg pictures.
After creation, when I open the PDF, some of the tables appear to have become transparent. Where the picture used to be is a selection box, as if there were a picture there, but it's merely blank. All of the photos, frames, and Word-based tables show up. Some of the pasted-from-Excel tables also show up, not these ones.
Is there a reason for this discrepency? Is there a way to resolve the issue? I used the search bar and found nothing that matched my issue. All of my software is up to date.
Thank you for whatever help you can provide.
    J

did you ever solve this issue? I have the same problem and "view large images" is the only answer I can find and it DOES NOT WORK.
I posted the question elsewhere, but nobody has replied. here's my situation:
When creating PDF documents from any software (Illustrator, Corel, InDesign, etc), color objects over 50% of the page size have white fill. If object has an outline, the outline will appear normally, but the fill will be white. I've searched forums everywhere and have found no answer. Most forum topics on this are issue focus on settings in the program that exported the PDF. I am 100% sure this is not an export problem, but is something in Acrobat itself (a missed setting? Corrupt program file?)
To provide the best information, I've done a little scientific research. Here is what I know:
    Currently running Acrobat Pro 9.5.5
This is only happening on ONE install of Acrobat 9. Documents display correctly in Reader X and in Acrobat 9 on other machines.
Started happening a few weeks ago, I have no idea what changed.
"Show Large Images" in preferences dialog is checked. Unchecking it and rechecking it does nothing.
Have installed all available updates to the software
I experimented with different object sizes. At 50% of page size, objects appeared normal, at 51% filled object disappears.
Does not affect photos, only affects vector objects.
running this on Windows Vista 64 Bit

  • Adobe PDF printer causes programs to crash

Hi, one of my users is having trouble using her Adobe PDF printer.  Sporadically whenever she prints to Adobe PDF it locks up the application that was trying to print and she has to force-quit.  Any suggestions?

    Hello AnasaziCannibal,
    Thanks for posting!
Unfortunately, you've reached the Acrobat.com forums which
are specific to the Acrobat.com website and its set of hosted
services, and do not cover the Acrobat family of desktop products.
Here is a link to the Windows Acrobat forums for you. This
will be a much better place for your post!
