Have tried all fixes I can see, updated Intel drivers, Updated Graphics card drivers, run in compatibility mode, run in administrator mode, logged in and out of Adobe account, turned on and off, cleared memory cache etc. problem still seems to be happening!

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 crashes after using "File"-Menu

    Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5
    Hello,
As of yesterday, can the "File" menu no longer operate. Other submenus can not be done. The program crashes after.
I have been three times the program is uninstalled and reinstalled. No improvement.
Yesterday I drove down the PC and there were 21 Windows updates, are there perhaps relationships?
    Who can help me?
    Gerd

    Update! - FIX...
Spent about 5 hours working with a 2nd level Adobe Support tech and we were able to track down the error. You’re not going to believe this.
Adobe Premiere was the only application affected by the bug. AF, Encore, Audition were all able to open a WAV file with no problem. Premiere would lock up (Not Responding) as soon as you tried to open a WAV file.
Come to find out it was not an Adobe problem after all. I installed the Smart Sound plugins in June/July of this year and that plugin was the issue. Once it was removed I could import Wav files again.
Smart Sound has upgraded the plugin and the new plugin works just fine.
My thanks to the Adobe tech who stayed with the problem until it was resolved. And I suggested to the SmartSound tech that they find a better way to notify users when they find a bug of this magnitude. But you might guess how well that was revived.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC Keeps Crashing

The following are my computer Specs for my HP with Windows 7 Home Premium
I am a Creative Cloud Subscriber and at this point I am a really unhappy customer.  I've tried re-installing the software, running as administrator, and still I am have nothing but crashes.  Most times I load it crashes on load up.  Other times it will load a project and then crash.  I sometimes also get into a project for a few minutes, then another crash.  It's getting to a point where I am so frustrated, because I have looked over these forums and everything I see the Staff members mentioning, I try...yet still it's not working.  Someone please help me figure out why it keeps crashing, their are no error messages given to me...all I get is the Windows 7 message that it has stopped working and then a close option. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone help me, I beg of you.  I am working in Adobe Audition too for recording and most times it works and doesn't crash, but I notice that sometimes it takes 3 attempts to start the program to run properly.  Once Audition CC is open I have had no trouble.  Now that I am working with video and audio...I need to be able to use Premiere.  I hope this isn't too long of a rant, but I am sincerely frustrated with this.

    Hi,
Thanks for your post. Please provide me the details of the graphics card that is installed on your machine. Go to start/search program box and search for Device manager to check the graphics card go to display adapters and check the name of the card.

  • Premiere Pro CC keeps crashing upon opening

My premiere pro CC keeps crashing upon opening.  I'm using a Dell Latitude 3340.  I keep getting this message above.  I've updated my video card, logged out and back into creative cloud, tried deleting preferences, and a few other things.  Any idea how to help?

  • Premiere Pro cc14 keeps crashing... Yes, for me too.

Premiere Pro cc14 keeps crashing, freezing and I keep having to force quit it, start again, and then after another little while (5-10min) - it does it again and again and again and again... you get the drift.
I am on a MacBook Pro retina.
Specs are like those or better that those recommended for the software so I doubt it's a machine problem.
    But in a nutshell:
SSD (500gb with over 50gb available)
    8gb Ram
NVIDIA graphics card (one of the recommended ones for Mac for this software)  - Updated the CUDA driver and thought it was going to resolve the issue but it didn't (1gb)
    2.6ghz intel core i7 processor
Working on Mark3 footage off a usb3 harddrive (which I always do and this never has been a problem ever before).
This is unacceptable considering this is a service we pay, we are a professional boutique filmmaking business and we cannot work in those conditions.
Thought it was the computer, turns out it's most likely your software! So please a fix that WORKS is needed.
    Thoughts? Advice?
Thinking of going back to normal CC which was working just fine... but need to see this project through for now as you can't save the project for a previous version of PP (nice one!)

    stephbubble,
I was talking about the Intel Graphics Card. Please check if you have an Intel Graphics Card alongside the NVIDIA Graphics Card. Have you tried that Graphics Switching option?
If that doesn't help, try this:
    Go to the following locations:
Location 1: When in Finder, click on Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    Location 2: Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe
    Location 3: Documents > Adobe
In all the locations, rename the 'Adobe' folders to 'OldAdobe'
Launch Premiere, accept the License Agreement and see if it works.
Note: You will lose your customized workspaces and keyboard shortcuts.
    Thanks,
    Rameez

  • Premiere Pro CC keeps CRASHING - Mac

Premiere Pro has been crashing for over a year. Even before I upgraded to CC.
Sometimes it will crash more than 5 times in 10 minutes. Longest it has run is just under an hour without crashing.
Everytime it crashes it says "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your project."
Now I am editing a project trying to import an AAF file and it keeps crashing on import.
I have done a full uninstall, used CC Cleaner. Reinstalled and it still crashes.
The log I get from the crash is massive but happy to paste it here if it helps. Let me know.

  • Premiere Pro cs6 keeps crashing when im editing or rendering a video

When I am on Adobe Premiere Pro cs6 every 10-20 mins it crashes when im editing a video, it crashes more often when im rendering it (export media, ctrl+M). I dont mind when it crashes while im editing because i save the file regularly but when im rendering its a problem, it probably because the file is too big as i use dxtory to record skyrim but this is an expensive product so it should be able to render. I encode the file once ive chosen the format and stuff for the video and it says finish rendering in 50 mins or so and when it gets to like 4% rendering it says not responding. It then troubleshoots but then says 'close program'. this is very frustrating, please can someone help me. I've looked through the forums but i dont uinderstand many of the solutions as im not that good at computers

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 Crashing on Render/Encode

So, this is a pretty non-complicated problem. I think I have narrowed it down.
So basically it's this, I try and render footage that is about 10 minutes long. About 3/4's of the way through that Adobe Premiere Pro crashes. It just shuts down, no warning. Computer is still on, and the CPU Load reduces to about 10% from 80%-90%. I think I have narrowed it down to the problem of the CPU overheating. I got speedfan, lastest version and I look at it, pumped all the fans up to 100%. It still crashed along with the CPU heating up to about 52-55 degrees Celsius. Now you might be thinking that is extremeley low, but my CPU is usually at a resting temp. of 38 celsius.
Please help, everything is updated. I think the problem is that I only have 3 fans. GPU fan, CPU fan, and a fan to suck air in. The problem lies with my case. It is so POORLY designed that with my MotherBoard it LITERALLY CANNOT FIT ANY MORE FANS IN THE CASE. Now, words cannot describe how angry I would get at the person who designed the case, but hey, you get what you pay for. Do you guys think this is purely Overheating - I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could fit another fan in there. Or something else - because I don't think it should shut down at 50 celsius.
    Specs..
AMD Radeon Sapphire HD 6850 Graphics Card
    AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. M5A97 R2.0 (motherboard)

Take the side off the computer case and put a small fan next to the computer to blow room air onto the CPU and motherboard
If that works, you know you need better cooling (maybe use the furniture brush with your vacuum cleaner... computer power off, of course... to remove any dust bunnies)
How are you with building a computer... so do you think you could move everything to a new case?
I built a computer for my wife a couple months ago http://www.pacifier.com/~jtsmith/ADOBE.HTM and with options, the case has 4 fans and her CPU runs fairly cool

So upon opening Premiere everything seems ok. There is no lagging or glitching, I can click tabs and everything is fine.
When I  import a .mov file or any of my previous premiere pro files I have no issues.
The  problem starts when I try to scrub through the timeline. As I scrub  through it nothing shows up in the preview area. Sometimes it is blank  and other times it only shows the image that the scrubber was set on.  The program seems ok as I'm scrubbing, there's no weird lagging and the  program doesn't freeze until the box telling me "Adobe Premiere Pro CS5  has stopped working" pops up.
The same thing happens every time. I do not know why.
Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this?
My copy of Premiere Pro is legal and bought.
The  sooner I can resolve this the better. I have other computers I can use  premiere pro on but I would like to be able to work on my own laptop  when I'm at home :|.
I've also tried updating the program but that didn't do anything either.

It turned out to be a display problem with my computer's settings.
For some reason my computer changed its color mode from 32 bit to 16 bit, which was also making my photoshop gradients show up choppy.
I changed it back and problem solved!!
    Thankyou though!

  • Premiere Pro CC keeps crashing

we recently updated to CC from CS6.  In CS6 we had no problem editing.  Now however we have editors constantly having premiere stop working and hanging.  There really is no rhyme or reason to the crashing.  They can be importing files, they can be exporting files, or just working on the timeline and out of the clear blue their screen goes light and adobe premiere has stopped working message adorns their screen.  the machines that we are using are...
    1) Dell Precision t5500 with Xeon x5660 processor, 12 gb ram, Nvidia Quadro 4000 video card and windows 7 pro x64
    2) Dell Optiplex 990 with core I-7 2600 processor, 8 gig ram, Nvidia Quadro 600 video card and win 7 pro x64

I just downloaded for the first time, so it's completely up to date.  But the application keeps crashing!  Every time I look at the source files, or when I get to a certain point in the video editing (dragging a clip down to the sequence board), it freezes up and kicks me out of the Application.  I get the following error message.  Please help!

  • Adobe Premiere Pro 6 CS Close Captions using Pro 6 CC?

I have Adobe Premiere Pro 6 CS and need to create Close Captions for a production I'm doing.
I know I can't create the Captions on Pro 6 CS but can I create them in Pro 6 CC and import them into the production on the CS side?

Here is a thread that discusses closed captioning functionality and the split between legacy PPRO CS 6.0 and the online CC version at that time -- Premiere Pro CC version 7.01.
Premiere Pro CS6 - Closed Captioning
Projects created from on version of PPRO should migrate with no problems to the next version. Closed captions can be added to any project you open, provided the application version you are using supports creating closed captions.
I suggest you work with one version of PPRO to keep things simple.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 Crashing very often! Please Help!

    Hello,
I am currently editing my first feature on Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and it is currently up to date.
I am editing on a iMac 27in, late 2013 brand new computer.
Processor: 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory 32GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096MB
    System: OSX Yosemite V 10.10.1
The project is located on a 8TB G Drive
    7200 RPM
    High Performance ThunderBolt drive.
    Details of the project:
I am currently working on a fine cut of 5K Red Footage that is being cut in the RAW.
I work at 1/2 quality settings and have no lag.
The timeline includes limited stacked video files and various mp3 audio files.
    The Problem:
Lately, the program will randomly quit or freeze up 4-5 times during an 5-6 hour edit session.
Many times it is random, however, it seems to happen often if I accidentally click on the end of a clip on the timeline and it goes to switch into trimming mode.
Also, it will randomly go into the "pinwheel of death" out of nowhere followed by "Adobe CC is not responding."
My project file is just about 15MB now.
What is causing this reoccurring problem?
How can I make it happen less?  I have scoured the forums and found similar articles but no helpful solutions.
I have recently turned auto save on to save every 2 minutes because there have been more than one occasion where I lost A LOT of work because of this issue.
I am about two weeks out from picture lock delivery and this issue is driving me crazy and loosing me a ton of time.
Please help or let me know if any more additional information can help solve the issue.
I have sent in well over 25 error reports already.
    Thanks,
    Thomas.

I think I may have found the solution...
I completely removed the Premiere Pro folder under User > Documents > Adobe and so far it seems to have solved the problem.
I of course backed up my projects and than deleted this folder. So far it seems it worked.
I'll know for sure in a day or two, but after constantly crashing, Premiere hasn't crashed for the last 4-5 hours of work.
