Adobe Pro 7 Blues

Hello
I'm seeing three issues with Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0.
The first issue is when users copy and paste they keep getting an error message to debug or quit. Users are copying from Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and pasting to Word XP (2002) or an in-house program. It's frustrating because every time users copy and paste Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 is closing down.
The second issue is when attempting to print PDFs from the network to a Xerox printer. The printing preferences chosen is for collated duplex and when the PDFs printout from the copier it has stapled all copies together as one copy instead of individually stapled copies. I've tried printing from another Xerox using Adobe 7 and the same issue exist. The issue does not exist with Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard.
The third issue is with hyperlinks and Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0. If a user clicks on a link in Word XP (2002), it looks like Adobe Pro 7.0 will open but it actually just pops in and out. I Google the issue and every site suggested to update Adobe Acrobat 7.0. So I did the update to 7.1.0 and rebooted. Afterwards when we attempted to open Adobe Acrobat 7 we keep getting an internal error message and Adobe will not load. So I had to rollback the update and then we were able to open Adobe Pro 7.0. This issue also does not exist with Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard.
Users are running Windows XP SP3.
Any suggestions/ideas on resolving these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The font issue may be that the font was not embedded in the PDF and AA7 is just looking for the best fit to the font. If it is an early version of AA7, then you may have a font issue. I think it was AA7 that had 4 fonts that were a problem. Those 4 fonts could be removed and the problem would go away. I had a PDF of a conference proceeding where all the titles showed in Greek due to the problem. They were fine with AA6. I deleted the 4 fonts for AA7 and the problem went away. The updates for AA7 may resolve this issue, I am not sure.

  • Help!!! LC designer  8.2 and properties access in Adobe Pro 9

    Hello
I have made a PDF in Designer but when i saved it and opened it with Adobe Pro 9, i don't have anymore Access to the page Properties./Initial view even if there is no protection on the PDF. and i need to keep an access to hide the "purple taskbar" where there is the "Sent" button.
Adobe put this button when you are using Acrobat.com to diffuse your PDF
i don't want it when we open the PDF with Reader
Do you know how to keep an access or to disable this taskbar
    Thanks

The banner at the top of the screen is called the Document Message Bar (DMB), it is purple for forms, and blue for certified or signed documents.
The document message bar can only be turned off by changing the program preferences.  You can NOT script the DMB per form.
In Acrobat or Reader, you can go to Edit --> Preferences, Locate the Forms category and check the box "Always hide forms document message bar".  Turning this off in Acrobat does not turn it off in Reader, each applications preferences are independent.

  • Why color variation between Adobe Pro 9.0 and Reader 9.0 when printing

We recently had Adobe Pro 9.0 installed.  We've noticed that we are getting different color shades when printing from Professional versus Reader 9.0.  Actually, the Reader is printing more of what we want.  We had one document that had a background that the Reader picked up better and we also had another with a solid blue and the Reader printed that better as well.  We are printing to a Xerox 7665 color copier.  Wondering if there is a setting or something that we should try??  Thanks!

frstrsystemI make a fix, here it is:
    1) I launch acropro 9 on the server, I go to the view->toolbars->tasks menu to  the "tasks" toolbar (which cause the crash).
    2) on the server, run regedit and go to current user\software\adobe\adobe acrobat\9.0 and export this hive on a file like acrobat9_user.reg
    3) create a acro9pro.cmd file with
    regedit /S n:\scripts\acrobat9pro_user.reg
    @start "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\" Acrobat.exe
save this file on the server
publish your app and call the CMD instead of the acrobat file
trick; you can map drive into the cmd so that user can access network shares and not only the server on.

  • How do I cancel my adobe pro subscription?

How do I cancel my adobe pro subscription that I bought yesterday.  I am unable to use on my work computer.

    Hi Reva,
To cancel an annual Acrobat subscription, it's necessary to Contact Customer Care. Choose Acrobat from the top drop-down menu, and then choose Membership, Account, Payment. Click the blue "Still Need Help?" button at the bottom of the page to find both phone and chat options.

  • I am having to reinstall Adobe Pro because of a hard drive failure. I have lost the License Key and need to know how to retrieve it so I can reinstall the product.

How do I retrieve the Adobe Pro License key/# so I can reinstall on my computer. I had to have the hard drive replaced due to failure and don't have the necessary information to reinstall Adobe Pro.

As this was a 1,000 USD + purchase I did registered back in 2008 when I got my copy of "Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium". And now I'm in the same situation as you. I did go to manage my account and found my serial number.
My disk crashed completely and I got everything back and running from my Time Machine backup. A few days ago Illustrator said there was a licensing issue. I tried all their gradual solutions up to the very last one: Reinstalling.
I did that and inserted the Serial number; it worked. Now that I'm opening the Adobe Acrobat Pro it requires me to input the serial and it says is invalid!
Anyone has an idea about this?

  • How to install Adobe Pro through GPO?

I currently install several pieces of software for our users through Group Policy, and would like to do the same with Adobe Pro for specific computers.  I created a AD group that has the machines I want Adobe installed.  I have the install files, and our license key, and ran msiexec /a AcroPro.msi and picked a folder to store the install too.
But when I boot up one of these machines, it "seems" like it goes through the process, but when I log in, I don't see any evidence that Acrobat Pro has been installed.
I've noticed that if I run the MSI manually it asks me which program should be default, Reader or Pro...... is this causing a problem when installing through the GPO?
What's the best way to proceed with this?????  I went through the procedures listed http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/gpo_ad_9.pdf but am still having problems.....
    Thanks.

The cause of problem is something else.
If you have reader installed on your machine and then if you deploy Acrobat via GPO then Acrobat would get installed and also become the default application for viewing PDF files.
How are you specifying the serial number while deploying via GPO?

    Hey,
I am sorry but Acrobat 7 is not at all compatible with Windows 8. For this, you will need to upgrade your Adobe Acrobat version.

  • Is there a way to do an install of Adobe Pro XI without entering key until after the install?

Is it possible to set up an install of Adobe Pro XI that doesnt require the licence key to be entered at the time of the install, but instead upon the first time the application is run? We have various users with different license keys but want to automate one installation and just have them enter the key after the install has complete, when they go to use the software the first time. We are looking to set this up in SCCM 2012 R2. Thanks in advance for any insight!

    Hey vcomfort6,
Please ensure that you are using Adobe Acrobat and not Reader to convert PDF file to word or excel.
Could you tell me whether it is a scanned document? Does this happen with all PDFs or any specific one?
Do you get any error message? What exactly happens when you try doing the same?
    Hope to hear from you.

You can directly delete the application from Applications folder, that is just trash /Applications/Adobe Reader.app. Also this may cause a break in Safari functionality to read PDF files using Adobe Reader plugin. To resolve this, go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/  and remove AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin

  • Cannot install Adobe Pro on MacBook Air

  • I used to be able to see a preview of my scan which i can no longer see only the adobe acrobat symbol I am using Adobe pro 9 can this be changed??

I used to be able to see a preview of my scan which i can no longer see only the adobe acrobat symbol I am using Adobe pro 9 can this be changed??

Yes, that appears how Mavericks works right now. However, you can open the Address Panel, select all your contacts, then click the To (or CC, or Bcc) buttons to move the selection to the address field.
If it is not already in the Toolbar, right-click on the Toolbar and select Customize Toolbar…
Then, drag the address panel up to wherever you want it.
You may also want to add it to the New Message window in the same way.

  • I am trying to add a footer and Adobe Pro XI keeps crashing

I am trying to add a footer to my document and Adobe Pro XI keeps crashing.  Any ideas?

What is your Acrobat XI version?  If less than 11.0.09 I suggest you update to that latest version.
Note that you posted in the forum for Acrobat.com online services; you may get better help if you ask in the Acrobat forum.  You should also state your operating system.
