Adobe Pro X forms question

I created a form in Adobe Pro X and then edited form content. When I go to print the document little boxes show up in the fields I edited. They are not drop down boxes and don't show on the screen, just in the printed form. help!

I think the problem is a printer driver and not the program. When I printed the document on another printer they didn’t show up. Thanks for trying to help!

Adobe Pro 8 Forms return as blanks

Hello;
I have created an adobe form using Acrobat 8.
I then posted in on my web page, and am testing it.
When I fill out the information, and click submit, it opens
email, sends the email.
When I rec'd the form, it was blank. Nothing I put in there
stayed. It was the original document with nothing on it!
I also want to have a message "pop up" or something that
tells the person the form was submitted.

Acrobat Pro Multiple form question

I am creating a form in Acrobat Pro to be distributed and tracked throught the response tracker. The form that I am doing would have 6 sets of the same form fields for different entries into the tracker. Does anyone know how I can do this so each entry is recorded separately in the tracking fields?

One distributed PDF will have only one entry in Tracker. If you want to manage data from Subforms in a PDF form you need to use LiveCycle designer and bind xml or any other database to your form and then you can easily manage the data you want.

Adobe pro x form problems

Hi
I have created a timesheet that calculates and distributed it to around 28 people I have come accross a few errors, can you help please.
Error one is from one of the people i distributed too.
1. this document enabled extended features ini adobe reader. the document has been changed since it was created and use of extened feature is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document.
error two is also from someone the form was distributed too.
2. Security wont allow me to sign on here and it must be printed.
this is a seperate error again????
For the most part the form is working fine for everyone else???

after researching this a bit i think it is the same problem on both forms and it all seems to be to do with the security settings I have checked the ones that do work have allowed. when they click into the attachment in there email the error messge comes up and does not allow you to do anything but view the form.

Pro 8-Forms questions

I have built a form using a Word doc file. I have manually added the field and also have some drop downs.
My question is that I don't want to collect data, I just want the users to enter the info requested and then not save it only print it out.
I also can't figure out how to get back into the PDF to do a little more editing?
Any help will be appreciated.

OK, thanks for that part, now how about the harder part.
I've got the form, I want to use it in my organization as a fill-in form that the user will print and then it will clear and wait for the next user to fill-in the fields.
I DON'T want or need to collect any data, I DON'T want any verbage at the top of the form that is telling the author to distribute it.
I would also like to see the fields outlined (the box) on data entry but ONLY have the input (without the box lines) show up on the printed form.

You have Adobe Acrobat Professional (no program called Adobe Pro). What forms are you paying for? There is a web service called Forms Central, this is a platform for creating, hosting and collecting information from forms. If you have a different server for hosting and collecting the information from your forms, you do not need Forms Central. However, some people find it an easy way to create forms.

Creating a Fillable PDF form with adobe pro XI

I am creating a fillalbe PDF form using Form central with Adobe Pro XI and I am using the new "add help text" feature in it, but when i save the form as PDF the add help text disaapars. I am also unalbe to find a form reset button to add to my form. How can I create a from with these features. The form I want to make it fillable PDf to emailed to customers.

Re: Help Icon - The PDF does not display the "?" like the web form. In the PDF when you mouse over the field and hover for 1-2 seconds the help text is shown in a tooltip.
Re: Form Reset button (Clear Form) - FormsCentral does not provide a clear form button but you can add it in Acrobat. You will want to open the PDF in Acrobat and then follow these two tutorials:

Are you planning save the form as a "Submission Enabled PDF" and collect responses using FormsCentral? Hopefully can quickly answer these questions because I need to get this out by tomorow night :/ I am new to creating Adobe Acrobat Fillable forms, my yearbook adviser wanted to make the yearbook/journalism application a pdf fillable form so I went with the flow. Now I am having issues. I created it with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0 if that helps
1. How do I get individual checks? they all check on the same answers, I need individuality lol. I know radio buttons is jus one chance so thats why I decided against them
2. How does one do a submit button exactly?
3. Somehow, I got to the step to distribute the forms but it says error licensing issue? Any ideas?

If using check boxes, you need to give each a different field name if you want them to behave independent of one another. You can create a group where at most on in the group can be selected, similar to a radio button group, by giving each the same field name but different export value.
For #2, it depends on the details of what you want to do. A PDF form can be set up to submit to a web server or to initiate an email with the form data for the entire form attached to the email. If you want Reader users to be able to save the filled-in form and/or submit the entire filled-in PDF, the form has to be Reader-enabled in Acrobat.
For #3, please provide the exact error message.

Form Sends Email from Adobe Pro X but not from Adobe Reader x

I have windows 7, adobe pro X and adobe reader X, and thunderbird 9.01 email client.
I have a PDF form (created in lifecycle 9.0.0.2_) that is complete and is reader extended though adobe pro x.
It will send the email correctly in abobe pro x, it opens all the correct windows etc and sends, and I receive the filled out PDF form.
When I open the form in adobe reader X it opens the correct window as before, but never sends the email.
Can any one here be of some help.

Did you reader extend the form?
Open the form in Adobe Acrobat PRO.
Goto Advanced menu -> Enable usage rights in Adobe Reader and save file..

Form issues in Adobe Pro for Macs

Can someone tell me how to solve an issue regarding Adobe Pro 9 for Macs? I have developed forms in Adobe Pro 9 but they can not be viewed in Adobe but can be viewed in Preview. How can this issue be corrected?

This is interesting, because I've had the same thing happen to forms I've created. In a most recent example, the form was filled out by an external person (someone outside our agency) and returned. When I opened the file, on my Mac, i could see the data entered into the fields. When a co-worker opened the file, on a PC, she didn't see anything and mistakenly thought the form was blank. However you could click into the field and then see that data had indeed been entered into each field.
I opened the file to see if there was something wrong with the appearance properties -- making sure that text color was not blank, and also making sure that I hadn't selected an obscure font. The text color was black and the font was Helvetica. On a whim I changed the font to Times and all of a sudden the data in each field was viewable. However, i changed it back to Helvetica and it remained viewable. So, the act of changing the font made the data fields display; it didn't matter what font I chose. I just had to change it.
When I looked up file properties, i did notice that the PDF Producer is Mac OS X 10.6.7 Quartz PDFContext, and so does that mean it was opened and fields filled in using Preview?

Why can you create and not edit a form in Forms Central with fields not available in Adobe Pro

I have developed a form in Adobe pro which I want to use the extra fields that are available in Form Central such as ranking. I can create a form with these extra fields but cannot edit it once saved. Whats the trick?

Form created in ES2 can't be viewed in adobe pro version 8

Hello,
I created a form in ES2 (version 9). I saved it to be compatible with the older version. As the form is sent to users and is filled out. As I receive the form back and open it in adobe pro 8, the drop-down list values that users selected disappear. The drop-down lists are populated by a javascript function with 2 dimentional array. Thus, as user selects a value for dropdown1, the dropdown2 list is populated based on the value on dropdown1.
Somehow, the values selected for these dropdowns are not shown when I view the form with adobe pro 8.
Could someone tell me why that happens and what to do to fix it?

Depending on your Designer version (no longer able to set it in UI in Designer 10, for example), strictscoping is set in the form properties of the form (File->Form Properties->defaults).
However, since this is just happening in Reader 8.0.0, it sounds like you hit a bug in that version.
FYI: Support for Reader 7.x, and Reader 8.x have been end of lifed by Adobe.
Best bet is to use Reasder 9 and above if they work, and it sounds as if they do.

How do I place a free-form text box in Adobe Pro XI?

I am working in Adobe Pro XI, and am creating a form. The software auto-formats the location of text boxes and fields. Is there a way to manually place the location of this field?

Update - This is using FormCentral which opened from Adobe XI Pro.
