  • Cannot Combine Word documents Adobe X. Office 2010

    Hi All,
Wondering if anyone has run into this issue before.  We are running Adobe X on Server 2003 SP2 (Citrix envionrment).  We have just upgraded to Office 2010 and Adobe X (latest Patch).  The primary reason for the upgrade is becuase the Combine Files fuction with Office 2010 and Adobe 9.x was not supported.  After upgrading, any attempt to combine word files fails.  Combining PDF files work perfectly fine.  I'm able to open Word and using the Adobe Ribbon, convert Word documents to PDFs fine as well.  I can also print to the PDF printer and I am still able to successfully convert to PDFs.  When we attempt to combin any Word files (.docx), each file errors out (gets skipped) and at the end we receive an error (No PDF File was created becuase Acrobat encountered an unidentified errors).  I'm running this as an administrator so permissions shouldn't be an issue.  I've changed the settings on the PDF printer and that hasn't helped (print directly to printer and change the port to a file location).
In addtion to the combine files not working, right clicking a word doc and Converting to a PDF fails too.  See the screen shot below.  IT seems as if the PDF maker is erroring out.  I can see Word open in the task manager.  Once the converstion fails, it does not close the Word process in Task Manager.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried it on a base machine, not a server (hope you have the additional license from Adobe for the server use, since that is a violation of the license for an individual package installation)? There are often problems when doing these things over a network.

Do you mean that when you see the video inside Video Creator, slide 10 appears for a split second and then jumps to slide-11?
Can you record the same scenario in diagnostic mode and send us the logs.
    Follow these steps -
    1. Close Video creator if it is already opened
    2. In Windows > Programs > look for "Troubleshoot Adobe Presenter Video Creator"
    3. Launch the same and record the exact same steps
    4. Stop recording > Ensure that the issue has been reproduced.
    5. Close the application.

  • Does Adobe Reader 9.0 conflict with Browser control?

I wrote a simple application, which creates a AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser control (basically a form with the WebBrowser control added) to view a PDF document.
Everything works well until I upgraded Adobe Reader to Ver.9(or Acrobat 9.0). When run the application and view a PDF document, and then close the application, an error occurs like following(not exactly, I translated from Japanese):
The command "0x0d188595" referred memory "0x00000004". memory cannot become "read". Click [OK] to terminate the program.
    My environment is as following:
    Windows XP SP2
    IE6.0
    Adobe Reader 6.0
Does anybody has similar problem? Is it a bug of Adobe Reader 6.0? and is there any solution?
    Any seggestion is appreciated.

This question might have a better chance of being answered if posted in one of the development forums such as: http://forums.adobe.com/community/design_development/pdf_workflow

  • Adobe 8 printing from office 2010

I am having trouble with Adobe 8. Recently the issues we are having have been increasing rapidly. We have had trouble with 1 machine and formatted it/replaced it 3 times.
We are using more and more 64 bit machines and we still run Adobe 8. We have issues were people cannot print to adobe from office 2010. We fix this with the first update for adobe 8, however after a few days we get the issue again but this time telling us we cannot print to adobe because the printer is not installed when it clearly is.
I believe adobe 8 has compatibilty issues with 64 bit machines and I would like confirmation on this. We are in need of a permanent fix, we cannot go around having to troubleshoot PCs every day because of Adobe. Every day employees need to stop working because of an Adobe issue.
Another issue we have on PCs is "A serious error has occured, reinstalling adobe may fix the problem" well guess what.. it doesn't.
We also have adobe 9 pro but we cannot use it because its only able to be installed onto a PC where another adobe product is installed. But most of the users only use adobe acrobat and whatever else comes with it and are unable to install adobe 9 because in order to do so we need to remove 8 and when you remove 8 you lose the ability to install 9 because you can only install it due to having another adobe product installed on the PC.
These issues are burning through time, time we need to fix actual issues not on adobe 8 constantly playing up.
    Thank you

It is Acrobat's PDFMaker that processes Office applications' files to PDF.
The only PDFMaker that supports Office 2010 is that associated with Acrobat X.

  • PDF Maker Issue - can't find add-in in adobe folder, doesn't work in MS Office 2010.

    Hi Guys,
Since last few years I've been using Adobe Acrobat Reader (IX, X, XI) on my Sony Vaio.
It was integrated with MS Office 2010 and worked perfect with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Last week I had serious isues with my notebook and had to do a clean instalation of Windows 7 64-bit.
I installed all software back (Eset Endpoint Antivirus 5, MS Office 2010 32-bit, etc.) and at the end, yesterday
I finally installed Adobe Acrobat Reader XI (free). Then I noticed with dissapointment that there is no Adobe ribbon.
I did everything mentioned here PDFMaker unavailable | Office 2007, Office 2010 | Acrobat 9, Acrobat X, Acrobat XI
including instalation in a simplified mode, but it doesn't work for me.
The path mentioned in above link doesn't exist in my computer "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat [9.0 or 10.0]\PDFMaker\Office".
I can find only: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader"   - a path to AR app. There is no PDFMaker folder at all.
And another path: "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Replicate" - Replicate is the only folder under "11.0".
Do You have any idea what I could do to instal PDFMaker module , and use it with MS Office 2010?
    Sorry for my poor English.
I'll be very gratefull for help.

If you have all of those Adobe Reader products on your system, you are asking for problems. Adobe states one should not have more than one copy of an application on their system.
Reader has no plug-in for MS Office of any version.
Only Acrobat has a plug-in for MS Office. Again Adobe does not approve of more than one copy of Acrobat on a system. And if you dare to have Reader on the same system then Acrobat and Reader should be at the same major version.

  • Unable to print to Adobe printer in any program including Office 2010

My sustem is a Windows 7 64 bit.  I have Office 2010 installed as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro X ver 10.1.3.  I am unable to print to the Adobe PDF printer.  If I select it in Notepad it is Greyed out.  If I select it in an Office product like Word or Excel it shows that it is READY.  However if I select it so I can print to PDF I get an error message "Word cannot print.  There is no printer installed."
If I got to Devices and Printers Adobe PDF is listed.  If I right click on it and select "Printing Preferences"  I get an error message "Operation could not be completed."
If I select Printer Properties I get an error message "The "Adobe PDF Converter" printer driver is not installed on this computer.  Some printer properties will not be accessible unless you install the printer driver.  Do you want to install the driver now?"
If I click YES a wizard pops up, the Add Printer Driver Wizard.  I select Next, choose either any of the Adobe PDF Converter Versions or HAVE DISK, the NEXT.  If I select have disk I go to the proper place "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF" and select the file AdobePDF.inf.  I then select the top Adobe PDF Converter and select Next.  It says You have successfully completed the Add Printer Driver Wizard.  You are about to add "Adobe PDF Converter, x64, Type - User Mode.  I click Finish and get another error.
This error says "Unable to install Adobe PDF Converter, Type - User Mode, x64 driver.  Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000002)."  I select OK and Adobe PDF Properties pops up.  It has tabs like General, Sharing, Ports, Advanced, Color Management & Security. I can click on any of them and make any changes but once I click on OK and close the window and then Right Click on Adobe PDF there is no change to my results.  I still get all of the above errors.
I have tried deleting the Adobe PDF printer and then selecting in Programs & Featues (Old ADD/REMOVE) the Adobe Acrobat X Pro item and right clicking on it and the selecting Change.  It goes through almost a reinstall, it adds the Adobe Printer back but NO CHANGE.  I still can't print to Adobe PDF.
    Can someone help?

Can you try 'Print as Image' (Advanced button on Print panel).

  • Office 2010 Ribbon issues w/ Adobe 9.4.0 & Win 7 64-bit

I noticed that Adobe has issues with getting the ribbon to show in Office 2010. I also saw that a footnote stated that Adobe is suppose to be working on this, but have they been? I am about ready to update my PCs to Win 7 soon and would like to know if anyone has heard if this will be fixed soon or if someone has a work around.
Basically, I am running Win 7 PRO 64-bit with Adobe Acrobat 9.4.0 PRO and Office 2010 32-bit. There is supposely a issue with the PDF Convert ribbon not showing and its 100% true.
For those of you suggesting I go back to Win 7 32-bit, can't I need more then 3.5 GB of RAM on my machine and/or going to Office 2010 64-bit, can't either, have older Databases that cannot be accessed in 64-bit. So, those work arounds a null. I have also tried followin the steps that Adobe has suggested, like verifiy its there, its not disabled, repairing Adobe and re-installing Adobe, but nothing worked. Oh also tried registering the DLL.
Any thoughts or other work around totry??
    Thanks
    Derrick

Bernd replied that "Acrobat X" will work... that means Acrobat 10
Of course we mere users have no idea WHEN Acrobat 10 will be released

  • LC ES4 form in Adobe Reader DC: "MS Office Outlook does not recognize ","...*

I have a form created in Adobe Live Cycle Designer ES4 with extended rights leveraged in Acrobat Pro 11. The form uses an array to store a number of e-mail addresses. When a user selects a name in another field the e-mail address is ‘subtracted’ from the array and the e-mail is created so that it is sent ‘To’ that individual and cc’d to the remainder of the e-mail addresses in the array. The array format is var ListAddr = new Array("[email protected]", "[email protected]", [email protected])
The whole thing works very well so long as Adobe Reader 11 is used: e-mail addresses appear in Outlook with a semi-colon between the addresses. The e-mail clients used by those completing the form are either Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2010.
Eventually users will migrate to Adobe Reader DC so I have been testing the form in Reader DC in advance and am met with the message:
“Microsoft Office Outlook does not recognize “,”…”
A Google search revealed that this issue can be rectified by going to Outlook Tools -> Options -> Preferences -> E-mail options -> Advanced e-mail options and checking the box for “Allow comma as address separator”. Unfortunately doing this makes no difference. The message still appears.
This tends to point the finger at Acrobat Reader DC. Has something changed in how Reader DC handles JavaScript? Do I need Acrobat DC rather than Acrobat Pro 11 to keep my form working? Has anyone any ideas why this might happen?

The problem only appears in versions newer than 9. It should definately be something that you could configure your way out of in the trust center, but I have tried "everything" and I am afraid it is not possible.
Anybody who has a solution for this?

  • Adobe Acrobat X incompatible with Office 2010 x64! Along with other Problems I found!

I AM VERY ANGRY AS WELL AS LOSING IT BIG TIME!!! MADDNESS!!!!
Can someone FROM ADOBE FIX THESE PROBLEMS? CAN AN UPDATE OR FIX SOLVE OUR SITUATION WITH ACROBAT X?
First off, I cannot see the plugin appear in the Office ribbon, in ANY office program. I tried everything Adobe told me to do. From trying to locate the adding through the list of disabled add-ins (which is not displayed), or the command prompts option which did not work either.
Second of all, I have this message of "Missing PDFMaker files", then after reinstalling Adobe 10 times, as well as reinstalling office 2010 x64 Bit 26 times, reformatting Windows "7" Ultimate x64 Bit 5 times, I still had no results.
Third, yet not least, the other problem is that the option to create blank PDFs no longer exists. In addition, I am unable to edit existing PDFs, even if they do not have security on them. I want a word processing feature added to Acrobat!
Can someone fix ANY of these problems, or may Adobe create an update to FIX ALL of these problems, OR AM I GOING TO DROP ACROBAT IN FAVOUR OF ANOTHER COMPANY?
I NEED HELP SOON!!!! NO TIME TO DO THIS ON MY OWN!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Series of events:
Purchased Windows 7 PC. 64 Bit OS
    Installed MS Office 2003
    Installed Acrobat 8.0.
While I did not have the complete functionality of converting Office documents to pdf's,
I could print documents and emails to pdfs.
I then upgraded my Acrobat to X. Still could print to pdf, but not do conversions.
I then upgraded to Office 2010, 64 bit. After upgrading to Office 2010, I cannot print,or convert documents to pdf using Acrobat X.
I cannot convert, or print e-mails to Pdf's in Outlook 2011. I cannot print or convert Word documents or Excel spreadsheets to to pdf's.
The only thing i can do is "Save As" a Word document into a pdf. I cannot use Acrobat X in Excel or Outlook at all.
Is there a solution to this problem?

  • Adobe Standard 7.0 compatability in Office 2010

I purchased a new computer in 8/10 running Windows 7 and Office Professional 2010.  I installed my purchased copy of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and it runs fine - except adobe pdf will not manifest itself as a printer in the print selection windows.  My wife and I have each published a book and in the past we composed the books in Microsoft Word then went to "print", select adobe pdf as the printer and then accessed the printer properties to set the right options to produce a "print ready" document.  We set features such as imbedding the fonts in the document.  In Office 2010 adobe pdf does not appear as a printer and Microsoft support says that the problem is with the version of adobe and I need to upgrade.  But I don't want to spend $139 just to make sure our Christmas newsletter prints right.
Is there any solution other than upgrading to adobe X standard?  And if I do upgrade to adobe X standard will that solve the problem?
Incidentally, I check upgrades on-line through adobe 7.0 standard and it indicated that an update to version 7.1 was available, but when I click on the appropriate boxes to upgrade nothing happens.  The window says that it is upgrading but it isn't.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

Try installing a PS printer and set the port to FILE. Then simply print to the PS printer. Once done, open the file in Distiller. If this does not do the job, then you will need to upgrade Acrobat to AAX or go back to your eariler OS and possibly word processor. When you start upgrading the OS, it is not uncommon to need to update all sorts of things. OFFICE 2010 has made the update need even worse.

  • Combining Office 2010 word docx files or doc files into pdf freezes Adobe Acrobat 9.X

When combining multiple Office 2010 Word docs into one pdf causes Adobe to freeze. A word dialog box pops-up prompting to save the pdf to start out(which is incorrect). Naming the pdf should be the last step. It does save the first doc into the pdf you name but does not merge the rest of the pages and just freezes. I have uninstalled, repaired Office, etc. Any suggestion would help or it looks like a complete rebuild of the system.

    Thanks again Bill
I tried printing to the Adobe PDF printer as you suggested, the process was successful and no errors came up. Close examination of the file did not reveal ant weird formatting or fonts. I tried repairing the file with Word to no avail.
I eventually found that replacing the last two paragraphs of the document which contained a couple of links did the trick. Something weird and unexplained. All I know for sure is the issue is dealt with on my end.

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer and Office 2010

    Hi guys,
I'm using Adobe LiveCycle Designer (version 9 / ES2). I try to open a MS Word file, but I receive an error message.
Word (version XP or higher) cannot be found on the machine.
    OS: Windows 7 Enterprise
    Office: 2010
I read that the version 8.2 of LiveCycle Designer doesn't work with Office 2007 and higher. In this constellation the same error message appears. Is it the same problem on my side? How can I solve it?
    Many Thanks,
    untalentiert

I'm running Win XP using Parallels 8... LiveCycle Designer is WIndows only and Acrobat XI will only import hyperlinks correctly from Windows versions of Office - which is why I use Office on both the Mac and Windows side, as well as Acrobat XI on both platforms. You can't use the Office plug-ins for Office using LibreOffice (or even Office 2011 for Mac) hence the need to open docs in Word on the Windows side instead of the Mac side.
What I'm confused by is the pricing difference between the packages - I guessing that the $163 package is the 'full retail' and not an OEM or anything - but I don't know if an OEM would even work under a VM with Parallels...
So I may end up with the full retail version, although I'd like to save the $70 difference if I can!
    Thanks,
    Clinton
