Adobe Reader X not printing

When I try do print a document the print dialogue comes up and when okay is selected the program goes through the motions, but nothing is sent to the printer.  When I tried the fix suggested (print as image) and select to print to a file again the program goes through the motions and I get the message that no pages have been selected.  I tried doing the repair, downloading updates and reinstalling, but none of these resolve the problem.  Is anyone else having the same problem and is there a known resolution?

Hi everyone,
I was having the same issue as all of you, but I was trying to print to network printers.  I am using a windows 7 machine and the server is 2003.  Microsoft has identified this as an asynchronous RPC issue.  The fix for it is to add the following DWORD to the registry:
HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers\
New DWORD: EnabledProtocols value=6
Restart the local print spooler and try again.  Hope this helps some of you.

Adobe Reader does not print more than 5 pages Toshiba E-Studio 232 in Windows 7.
I contacted Microsoft representatives said the problem is the Acrobat Reader once all other applications print without problems.
    Please help me!

We have the same problem with our TOSHIBA e-STUDIO6540C. We've tried different versions of adobe reader, even acrobat and many times it will only print some pages of any given document. Did you find a solution? To me it sounds like a toshiba issue but just wondering.

  • Adobe Reader will not print to Epson WF-2540 in Mac OSX 10.8.3

I have previously used Adobe Reader to print in both wired and wireless capacity to my Epson WF-2540 printer on my Mac OSX. My current version is Mac OSX 10.8.3. Recently (and it may have been following an update to my OS, I don't know for sure) the printing process hangs on "Looking for Printer." No error message is given, but the printing never commences. All other programs (e.g., Preview, Firefox, Safari) print normally to the printer. Any thoughts are appreciated!

    Hi,
Have you tried installing the drivers below?

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not too familier with Fuji Xerox products but I assume this is the same model?

  • Adobe Reader will not print documents and I have tried the work around

I cannot implement work around ! because my XP program does not offer a spot to give my printers a Share Name. So what do I do next?

What Adobe Reader version?  If 10.1.2, try the patch: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-wont-print-reader-10.html

  • Adobe Reader does not print to HP 1320 (neither Leo nor Tiger)

As the topic says, we cannot print from Adobe Reader (also when the Safari plugin is used) to the HP 1320. Just the light flashes for some time, and then ... nothing.
The HP1320 is not connected via USB, but over a print server and parallel cable ("centronics").
The same problems appear for some G4 with Tiger and some G5 with Leo.
The same problems appear with different versions of Adobe Reader.
No problems with printing the same PDFs with Vorschau ("Preview"), or any other application, only with Adobe Reader.
I also tried lots of different settings in the Reader's printing dialogue window, without any result.
    Strange?

We had the same problem with protected mode and the 1050C. Symptoms were when selecting ANSI E (or other sizes) in the print dialog, the preview remained at 8.5 x 11 and as mentioned in earlier posts, the job never spools. This was on a Win7 Pro 64 bit system.
At first I thought it was the driver as Microsoft lists the 1050C as incompatible with Windows 7 (32&64 bit) on their hardware compatibility site.  Our print server is Server 2003 and I couldn't get the 64 bit driver installed on the server, so the way I installed the 64 bit driver (in this case) was to use the add printer wizard in control panel, choose add a local printer, create a standard tcp/ip port with the corresponding IP on the print server and then click the 'windows update' button to update the local driver database. I was then presented with both PCL and PS driver choices for the 1050C (chose HP DesignJet 1050C by HP). Whether this is actually the Vista 64 bit driver I don't know, but it's presented in the driver database on Win7 as a certified driver.
Anyhow, I was clued into the application possibly being the issue because I had two identical systems where I knew I had installed the printer in the same way on both systems. One person however, wasn't having the problem. On closer inspection, the user that was plotting successfully was using Acrobat Pro, not reader.
I then remembered having already encountered another problem with protected mode. We had a few people selecting several pdfs at once and then just right-clicking and printing them en masse without opening them. After upgrading to Acrobat X, they could no longer do that. Again, protected mode was the culprit. A whole bunch of acroread processess would stack up but only one of the docs or none of them would print. So remembering this earlier problem & resolution, I turned off protected mode and the issue with the 1050C was resolved. For now, I'm just turning off protected mode as needed on a case by case basis.

  • Adobe Reader does not print checked box

I used Latex to make a pdf survey. If a box is clicked, an X (exact symbol number in latex: \ding{54}) appears. But if I want to print the document, the X is not printed.
    Additional information:
    - The X is just visible, if I click somewhere else, after checking the box.
    - The X is also not visible in the printing preview.

What is the version of your Adobe Reader Touch?  See FAQ: How to check the version number of Adobe Reader Touch.
What is your operating system?   Windows 8/8.1 or RT?
Would you send your PDF document to [email protected] as an email attachment?
    Thank you for your help.

  • Adobe Reader does not print hatches created in AutoCADD. Is there a solution to this problem?  The hatches display, just will not print.

I have created .dwg files in AutoCadd LT and then created a .pdf file while in AutoCadd LT.  I can print my AutoCadd drawing correctly while in AutoCadd, but when printing the .pdf file created in AutoCadd, only parts of the file are printed.  All 'hatches' are ignored and not printed.
Does anyone have an idea how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Ray

    pwillener,
Thanks for the advice.  Unfortunately, the 'Print as Image' button is greyed out and not available.
    Still nothing works properly.

  • Why does Adobe Reader do not print in English on my computer ?

I go a e-mail from honeywell company with an attachment.  Why does Adobe Reader transform the e-mail from English to some other languge?

    Hi Margaret,
I'd like to help! Would you mind sharing a bit more detail? What language does it appear to be? Has this happened with other PDF's? When you installed it - did you select English as the language?
    Looking forward to your response.
    Kind regards, Stacy

Are you trying to print local or online documents?  If online, in what browser?
You don't get a Print panel when you click on Print?

  • Adobe Reader 9 pdf printing turns text into symbols

I am trying to print a pdf file, when it starts printing all of the text turns into random symbols, I am trying to print a rebate and this is really frustrating. I saved the online pdf to my HardDrive, then I try to print it after opening with Adobe Reader 9. I have tried printing it as an image, and still the same occurs, my printer is fine, it prints word documents and notepad perfectly, I have all the latest updates, so I do not know why this is happening.

I do realize that not all printers are affected. However, the problem is clearly with Adobe Reader 9. The reason I say this is that the problem does NOT exist with Adobe Reader 8. The problem ONLY occurs with Adobe Reader 9. Furthermore, I am not sure what specific resolution to this printer you are referring to, but there hasn't been a solution presented thus far that is an actual fix for the problem. Originally, I identified that if I selected "Print to Image" the entire multi-page PDF would print as expected. Although, this solution causes the multi-page PDF to print very slowly (for the reasons noted by Mike). Another reader reported that if you install FoxIT PDF Reader, multi-page PDFs print just fine. I have verified that installing FoxIT Reader DOES INDEED allow me to print multi-page PDFs to our FS-C5015N. Again, if it was purely a driver issue, why would a multi-page PDF opened with FoxIT Reader print as expected while the same PDF opened with Adobe Reader 9, not print as expected? There also were a couple other posts about using the generic Kyocera KX driver. This is not an option for us. Finally, there was a post about changing the Post Script driver setings. We do not use the Post Script driver. And just as a side note, we have tried using the Post Script driver to see if this will resolve the multi-page PDF issue, and it does not. With that said, I implore Adobe to once again acknowledge this problem and provide users with a fix. This is a very frustrating problem.

    Hi,
Any help on below would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you

I also have this problem that Adobe Reader will not print, but this only occurred for me after installation of MS Office 2010.
The proposed solution of changing default printers does not work for me!
Does anybody have a real explanation as to what causes this problem and a real solution for it?
I have already tried re-installing Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and this had no effect. I am using Windows XP with SP3.
    thanks for any help ....
