I have a .mov file that plays on my mac but when someone tries to play it on a pc, they get an error 128 message. Help! Please!
This is not the problem. We are using quicktime on the pc's and the mac. I also tried to open the file on the pc with other programs and it doesn't recognize the file. The file opens fine on my mac but I cannot save it as a new file. It says that "the end of the file was reached." The recording was made in iShowU then edited in Quicktime Pro.

OSStatus error -128 trying to move file??
I have some video files on an external hard drive that I'm trying to copy or move back to my iMac. All the files transfer without a problem except for two which give me the following error:
Error!
An error occurred.
The operation couldn't be completed. (OSStatus error -128.)
item: (null)
Both videos play without any issues, I don't understand what the problem is, anyone?Whew, that's strange!?
userCanceledErr
= -128, /*User canceled an operation*/
What format is the external drive & what size are these movies? -
QT movies won't open, just search for clip, and then error 128
I have filmed a lot of digital movies when I was an undergraduate studying film and I exported them all as quicktime movies to save in my computer; however, for some unknown reason, whenever I try to re-watch those movies, QT searches for "Clip 01" or whatever and says that it cannot open the movie without this clip, and then gives me "error (-128)." What is up with this? I thought once I exported the film as a QT .mov that would be the only file I needed. I don't understand why it needs to search for a clip. Thanks for anyones help, I'm trying to piece together a demo reel and now I don't have access to about 75% of my work.
G4 Desktop Mac OS X (10.4.4) Dual Processor 1.25 & 2 GB of RAMWhen you "Save as" QuickTime Movie you get two choices... Reference movie and Self contained.
Self contained creates a movie with all needed media (video and audio clips) within the .mov file.
Reference movie creates a very small file that tells QuickTime where to find the clips to play and does not copy those clips into the mov file. -
I am trying to copy my iPhoto library onto an external hard disk but am getting this message:OSStatus error -128.
I've done this many times before without trouble. Please can throw any light on this? Thank you.Do you have ownership on the external HD set to be ignored?
If not it may be an errant permissions issue. Bring up the Info window for the hard drive and set the ownership to be ignored. Before trying the copy again download and run BatChmod on the library with the settings in the screenshot below:
Now try copying the library. To make copying the library quicker you should look into a backup application that does incremental backup, i.e. copying only those new or changed files. One that I use is Synk Pro. It can be setup to automatically run whenever it senses a change to the library. There's an option to not have it run while iPhoto is open which I use. Then when I close iPhoto it automatically kicks in and backs up. I can backup a 2000+ library to another HD is less than 30 seconds. You can find other backup applications that might fill the bill by searching for "file backup". -

Error 128 - Songs in Playlist won't fit
When I try to burn a cd, I get "The songs in this playlist will not fit on on Audio CD". I created a playlist with just 1 song and got the same error. Diagnostics listed below. I haven't seen this type of problem posted by anyone else. I used to be able to burn CD's through iTunes and I can burn using other programs so it's not by burner. I can only assume it's the latest version of iTunes but I'm not sure which version was the last version that worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2. Downloaded all the Windows XP updates

NewmyI guess I should also ask, is anyone else having their system crash after part way through burning an audio disc? And better yet, has anyone had this problem and then been able to fix it? Or, does anyone know how to resolve this if it can be resolved with the current 7.0 build.

Microsoft Visio 2010 - error 128 - corrupt file cannot open
I've tried everything in the Microsoft self-help article and nothing has worked. I'm assuming that keeping the Visio file on a flash drive and hibernating the laptop with the file open might have caused this. Does anyone know how to fix it? Do I need a
Level 2 to help? Am I simply going to have to redraw? Many questions - hoping for answers from this learned group.Hi,
Try the following methods:
Switch on your computer system then sign on as an administrator.
Click on the Start button then click All Programs, Accessories, System, and after that select System Restore.
Inside the new window, select “Restore my PC to an earlier period” and after that click Next.
Select the most recent system restore point from the “select a restoration date” listing, then click on Next.
Then click the Next button on the verification window.
Reboot the pc once the restoration has finished.
Or:
open the directory where the file is stored in windows explorer
right-click on the file and select properties
Select the previous versions tab
Select the most recent version from a restore point and select 'open'
If the file opens successfully then save it as a new version of the file.
If it won't open, try an earlier one, and so on until you are successful.

Error 10810 when running applescript remotely
So "final" product here. I'm no applescripter so my code is probably inefficient. As such I keep running into a -10810 error and from my googling and research I think it's a runaway process (or a few of them) created by this script. I run it through Casper remote. It's a compiled script for compatibility with Casper Remote. Running as a standalone app (or as a compiled script on the local desktop) it works just fine. It's only through Casper Remote that I get this error and only sometimes. The script works even when no one is logged in. Casper Remote runs as an admin and forces sudo when it needs to.
Any ideas as to what might be causing the failure? The script fails very quickly when it does. It certainly does not get to the point where it gathers all apps on the computer.
TIA!
Andrew

set workPath to "Work" --we are only looking for partition "Work"
tell application "System Events"
if workPath is in (get the name of every disk) then -- list all partitions and check for "Work." If found, set folderList to the contents of Work
set folderList to list folder workPath without invisibles
else if
... stuff ...
end if
end tell
Then later I have it doing this:
else if aFolder does not contain "Users" then
tell application "System Events"
set folderSize to (physical size of aFolder) div 1024
end tell
set totalSize to totalSize + folderSize
write aFolder & " - " & CalcFolderSize(folderSize) & " " & KBMBGB(folderSize) & "
and I get the following from the AS editor events pane:
tell current application

list folder "Work" without invisibles
--> error number -10004
end tell
tell current application
list folder "Work" without invisibles
--> {"Page4 Folder", "PAGE4BUILDER", "Users", "zz_LastFolder"}
Result:
error "Can’t get physical size of \"Page4 Folder\"." number -1728 from «class phys» of "Page4 Folder"
Now I tested the tell system event portion in another editor with this code
set aFolder to path to home folder
tell application "System Events"
set folderSize to (physical size of aFolder) div 1024
end tell
and got the right result. So I think that I can't get the size because it is not showing the path to each of these items, just the name of them. Is there a way to set a variable to the path to each of the items it finds? I think then it'll get the sizes right....
Thanks!

I am now getting really fed up , when ever i open internet I am ask to enter keychain password so i type in my login password and it goes into a while loop x 2 and throw up a error "There was a problem saving your keychain. Please try again or use keychain Access to verify your keychain. Error-128"
so i then went into keychain { also guys how can i post picture here like screen dump }
and then went into edit -->Keychain list and i remove via the - button login and system. but I still get this message
could someone please help this is really peeeee me off I am totally new to Imac and its my first imac machine version 10.5.7HI,
Repair Disk Permissions.
First, Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
If that doesn't help... try deleting this file. com.apple.KeychainAccess.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that plist file form the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your iMac.
See if that helps. It's ok to trash a .plist file as your Mac will create a new one for you the next time you use the Keychain application.

These EXACT errors have come up twice. The 2nd time was after a DB restore to before ANY support packs or addons were installed on the empty AS ABAP 7.1 system.
Your assistance or ideas to try would be hugely appreciated!!
Cheers,
KyeAny more suggestions about how to solve this issue would be great...
I've tried the following Kernels.
REL_710 - Patch 214 and 215
REL_720 - Patch 64
Each new attempt has been on a DB restored back to the freshly installed SAP System.
I have another post specifically asking about return code 128 and its been suggested there that the return code could indicate its OS related. To test if the issue was related to that particular servers installation of Win2k3 I've copied the database and <SID> directory to a separate server (also WIN2k3 SQL 05) and attempted the install of FSAPPL 200 again. Unfortunately i still get Error 128!!
Both of the servers I've tried running the AS ABAP 7.1 system on, have existing Netweaver BI 700 running. Is it possible this could be having an affect on the installation of FSAPPL 200?? (there is ample room on both servers to run multiple instances).
Cheers,
Kye
