Summary Row on adv. datagrid with no dataprovider
Hello,
Just new to Flex and still need to find out some things.
Created two advanced datagrids, the first WITH a dataprovider returning articles .. the second datagrid was added as a sort of Shopping cart and has no dataprovider.
I'm able to drag and drop articles from datagrid1 to datagrid2 (shopping cart), but I'm unable to show "Total price" at the bottom of the shopping cart.
Seems logical since it need data to make summary SUM field, but how can I tackle this best?
1. add empty dataprovider?
2. create an datacollection on the fly?

TomBrlooks like it didn't understand correctly. Solution beneath is not adding a new row, but is only a solution for adding an extra column with some calculated value.
Am I correct that there is no default function for adding an extra row with the SUM of a column?
ok, added a datagrid since (as you mentioned) I'll need it anyway.
After adding a datagrid and creating a httpservice that can load data into the shopping cart, I'm still unable to add the SummaryRow with Totals
As soon as I remove the dataprovider="{getshopcartdataArray}" parameter from "<mx:AdvancedDatagrid" and add the extra <mx:dataProviderpart (with source pointing to correct DP) ... nothing works: loading data doens't work, drag/drop doens't work anymore and total row is not seen anyware

so, I need to make a table (I guess with advancedDataGrid) something like this
as you can see, I have to group them by columns and Rows. I have found a "mx:groupedColumns" that maybe could help me , but I couldn't find something like "mx:groupedRows".
The grid may be dynamic, for example if I have another XML node like:

JSany help ????????? I found OLAPDataGrid ..... I was thinking to send all the data into a bidimensional Array , then pass the data of my bidimensionalArray to OLAPDataGrid ... but I'n not sure if Flex is able to do it ....

I have a report which have year(2008), Category(0-1,2-3, ALL), product(0,1,2,3,4..), % sales. I group by all the category elements and called it as All, I am not getting the right percentage sales for the Category ALL other wise for 0-1,2-3 i am getting it right. Please advise where i am doing it wrong. please find the blog for a screen shot of my issue.

Custom IKM Knowledge Modules are not working with Group By Clause
Hi All,
I am facing an issue with custom IKM knowledge modules. Those are IKM Sql Incremental Update and IKM Sql Control Append.
My Scenario is
1. Created an interface with table on source and temporary datastore with some columns in target.
2. In the Interface on the target i defined one column as UD1 and other column as UD2 for which group by to be implemented .
3. Customized IKM Sql Incremental Update with " Group by " by making modification in my IKM Sql Incremental Update
detail step "Insert flow into I$ table" i.e., i replaced like this whereever i find this <%=odiRef.getGrpBy()%> API
Group By
<%=snpRef.getColList("","[EXPRESSION]","","","UD1")%>,
<%=snpRef.getColList("","[EXPRESSION]","","","UD2")%>
Up to UD5.
. Here in the place of [EXPRESSION] i passed column names for UD1 similarly other column name for [EXPRESSION] of UD2.
4.Made all the proper mappings and also selected the KM's needed for that interface like CKM Sql ,IKM Sql Incremental Update.
5. Executed the Interface with global context.
Error i am getting in this case is :

If your are transfering data from Oracle to Oracle (I means source is oracle Db and target is also oracle DB) then use below KM's and group by will come automatically based on the key values you selected on interface target datastore
1) CKM Oracle
2) LKM Oracle to Oracle (DBLINK)
3) IKM Oracle Incremental Update (MERGE)

Here "Order Mode" is the group field (it repeats for every group). Could you pl specify what output you are getting?
If the problem is that you don't want the Title (like "Order Mode" in the above example) to print in every group, just place it outside the group repeating frame. It will print only once.

Need for a Datagrid with variableRowHeight="true" and custom Item Renderer to display exact rows

I'm in a search of a datagrid with certain characteristics:
- variableRowHeight = "true"
- only one column
- each row must have a custom item renderer with possibly different heights, and a fixed width
- the datagrid must show always every item in the data provider with no vertical scroll bars, what means that the datagrid height must have always the exact height sum of all the item renderers it is displaying.
- and no extra empty rows must appear in the last positions of the datagrid
The last two requirements are something difficult to achieve... for some reason, empty rows appear at the last positions of the datagrid. I post what i've managed to get:

I have created Journal Entry Template with header Information Groups and so on.
I have entered one Journal Entry with groups='EUR' and saved it.
I have seen that it saved the journal with groups= 'LC'
Is not possible to do a Journal with groups='EUR'?

Another approach is to create a folder in the local Administrators Home folder. Name it Applications. Place the applications you want to restrict access to into that folder. If you have ARD you could use the mkdir and mv commands to achieve this. In some situations I find this an easier way of managing applications rather than what's available in WorkGroup Manager. For me it only tends to work with Apple's built in applications effectively. Anything else is liable to cause a problem along the lines you mention. Some 3rd-Party applications can have dependencies that may be sited in different locations. The trick is tracking down them.

Strange Behaviour on DataGrid with ArrayCollection as DataProvider
I have a Datagrid with an ArrayCollection as DataProvider, the arrayCollection is partially generated by a remoteObject call, the dataprovider seems to works at least until I try to edit the field...
By the RemoteObject I only receive an ArrayCollection with the field `ip`, but the datagrid looks for the fields ip, check and save...
If I add/edit this new field it works, but only under particular condition

Let's assume to put this simple `for` instead of the commented line (once at a time)

This code always work in the 3 points, so at the end of the call the ArrayCollection is always filled with the new values, but the datagrid refresh the items only in POINT #1 and POINT #2
Why not in Point #3???Thank you Amy, but adding the properties in the server side did not work...
The workflow of the program is that:
1) I get the ArrayCollection (listaIPCheck) contatining some information (function ro_resultHandler)
2) I start an external process and grab the output data (function init3)
3) read and use the data from the process (function onExit)
Now the problem I have is regarding the refresh of the datagrid, this datagrid has the ArrayCollection (listaIPCheck) as DataProvider.
So:
- If I put the for loop instead of the comments ( // Read Below {POINT #1} ) or
( // Read Below {POINT #2} ) it works, the ArrayCollection is updated and the datagrid is refreshed
- Whereas if I put the for loop instead of ( // Read Below {POINT #3} ) , it won't work.. or at least, the ArrayCollection is correctly updated, but the datagrid is not refreshed at all and I have to use .refresh() -

I'm new to flex and struggling with the editable DataGrid. I

DataGrid with Custom Component not showing sub-components
I'm hoping someone can enlighten me on this issue.
I have a datagrid with one column which has an item renderer. It doesn't matter if the "text" data comes from a dataProvider or is static.
If I do the following, only the first label will show up.

Usually, when there is not enough room within the datagrid cell scrollbars will appear - you can experiment with the example below to see what I mean.
As for radiobuttons in a datagrid, here you go. The DataGrid and its dataProvider are constructed in the same way you normally would.
