Advice with syncing Iphone 4s with a Windows XP computer

Hi, I am looking for some advice regarding the following problem:
When I updated my iPhone 4s software to iOS7 in September, I was no longer able to sync music to my iPhone using iTunes (version 11.1.2.32).
It was eventually resolved after spending hours on the telephone to Apple.
The solution was to completely restore my phone to factory settings, this action was decided upon by process of elimination. One of the checks they asked me to perform was to try and sync using my Ipod Classic 120GB. As this worked without any issue, they decided the problem was with the phone, and not the iTunes software.
This fixed the issue, and phone continued to sync as normal after the restore. However, after the upgrade to 7.0.3, I started to encounter the same issue again.
This time, Apple advised to delete all the music from my phone, disable 'show all music' and 'iTunes Match' settings, and resync. This has now happened several times, and is very time consuming to deal with.
I am now starting to wonder, even though Apple ruled out iTunes software being an issue, if the problem is actually with the computer I am using. The details are as follows:
Packard Bell - AMD Athlon(tm)XP 3000+
2.16GHz, 1.18GB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP - Home Edition - Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Could anyone please offer any advice or opinion.
Thanks in advance.

  • Why is it that when I connect my iPhone 5S to my Windows Vista computer, the photos made with my iPhone are all of very low quality and most of them are turned upside down?

Why is it that when I connect my iPhone 5S to my Windows Vista computer, the photos made with my iPhone are all of very low quality and most of them are turned upside down?
On another note, the iPhone tells me that it's ''busy'' when opening a photo on the computer.
(I tried restarting my PC, connecting via another USB port, importing using PhotoStream, etc...)

Are you using the front or rear camera? When you say they are low quality, are you referring to file/pixel size, or how the picture looks? As far as upside down, how are you holding the phone? Older versions of Windows have issues reading the Metadata from the pictures and will not display the same.

    Hello, Pete.
Here is an article I would recommend going through when an iPod is not recognized by iTunes or the computer.

Usually the resolution is updating the Apple Mobile Device Driver.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

  • My dreamweaver  2 websote is not compatible with my windows 7 computer.

I am ulnable to make changes to mhy website becauseit was designed usilng dreamweaver  2. and my new computer has windows 7 .My old computer had windows xp but that computer no longer works.. I had no problem accessing dreamweaver 2 with windows xp
Every solution that I have heard about  is very expensive or very  hard to do.
So far, the solutions that have heard about  are:
    1. hire someone to redesign my entire website using  a  much later edition of dreamweaver
    2. take windows xp off my old computer  and install it on my new computer
    3. Buy a widows xp  cd and install it on my new computer
    3. Buy a windows xp computer and use it instead of my windows 7 computer
4 buy a windows xp computer and hook it and my windows 7 computer to the same monitor. The suggested techniques for doing this involve any of the following:
           A. get a vga signal splitter and reverse it using gender changer. or
B.Best Buy suggested using a  KVM switch
I am non-technical and will have to hire all of this to be done. Cost is very important.

There are 2 things you could try.
The first (which is unlikely to work, but simple) is to try running Dreamweaver in "compatIbility mode". To do this, right click the shortcut to Dreamweaver, select 'Properties' and then on one of the tabs (I forget which) there should be the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for". Select Windows XP (doesn't matter which SP you choose) and then try starting it again.
The second thing you can do is use the new Windows 7 XP Mode. Basically this runs a virtual XP machine and gives you a (free) copy of Windows XP within Windows 7. You can get this from Microsoft here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
Once that is installed, install Dreamweaver on the XP it loads on your computer.
If either of these solutions aren't to your liking then either get a new Dreamweaver (which should have no problem reading your old site) or, as this is considerably expensive, consider an open source alternative (open source being free).
There are many alternatives available, Google "Dreamweaver open source alternative" for a selection, but one I've liked in the past is Bluefish:
    http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/index.html
Although these options don't match the features of current versions of Dreamweaver, they are probably quite comparable to Dreamweaver 2 and most likely greatly surpass it (unless of course you're meaning Dreamweaver CS2).

  • Unable to print multiple copies of PDF using reader X with new Windows 7 computer

I recently upgraded to a new Windows 7 computer.  Now when I try to print a PDF I can only print one copy.  I have checked that my Mopier Mode is enabled and have tried everything I can think of.  Why could I print multiple copies with Windows XP but can't with Windows 7?

    How does that manifest itself:
you cannot change the number of copies on the Print panel?
you can change the number of copies, but it prints only one?

  • HT202213 can I home share a windows 8  computer with a windows seven computer

Can I home share a windows 8 computer with a windows seven computer

Those were correct. The troubleshooter says the network location needs to be set to home but when the connection  is identified as private and cannot be changed. The windows seven computer is not identifying a homegroup name but the windows eight computer is. Both computers say to join now under home sharing but it is never showing up.

  • How to move iPhone 4/iTunes from Windows XP computer to Windows 7 computer?

I need step by step instructions for moving my iPhone 4/iTunes files from a PC Windows XP computer (current version) running Outlook 2003 to a new PC Windows 7 64 bit computer running Outlook 2010.  I sync Outlook email, calendar, contacts, notes, and have iTunes music (purchased and not purchased) and photos (camera roll only).  I'm not using iCloud due to duplication of data inconsistencies.  My iPhone 4 is fully up-to-date on OS version, as is my iTunes.  My iPhone 4 is fully backed up to the current computer.  The current XP computer is the only computer that I sync with, and the new 7 computer will be the only computer I sync with post transfer.
    Thanks in advance.

Use the Windows File Transfer Utility to move everything.

  • Reconnection of iphone to re-installed Windows WP computer

I recently had to reformat my computer hard drive with Windows XP and therefore 'lost' the iTunes software, with all all my iphone details.
I have now re-installed iTunes, but what steps are required to gfet the software to recognise mt iphone, without losing all the data and apps on the phone?

If you didn't make any backups of your songs, videos, etc that you have on your iPhone, there is a program called Touchcopy that will extract not only the music and videos, but also your contacts.
After you reinstall iTunes, you are going to want to go Edit->Preferences->Devices-> and make sure that you check the Disable Automatic Syncing option. Go ahead and connect your iPhone right now, but DO NOT CLICK ON SYNC! You are now going to right click on the iPhone and select Backup. This will create a backup of your iPhone without syncing and losing data. Now your computer has a backup of your iPhone and you won't have to worry about losing all of your data and you need to go to the following directory and copy the folder of the backup (C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup) to another location for safekeeping.
Next, right click on your iPhone again and select Transfer Purchases. This will transfer over any apps, songs, etc. that you purchased or downloaded on your iPhone. This step will make sure that iTunes doesn't delete all the apps on your iPhone when you sync.
Just so you know, make sure you don't click on the Sync with Outlook for anything, because since you probably have a fresh computer, Outlook won't have anything and will delete all your contacts and calendar events, etc. Also, if you have any photo albums on your iPhone it will delete those as well, because iTunes doesn't have the database for them loaded, but if you have the photo albums that you imported saved anyways, you just have to re-add them. You will also have to re-add all the songs and videos to your iPhone as well.
If there is anything you don't understand or have any questions let me know.

  • Syncing iphone to itunes on a new computer

My laptop was stolen and I have a new one - which of course is not allowing me to sync my music library to.from my iphone
Is there any way deauthorize the previous computer that the phone is synced to.?  I know how to deauthorize the computer and authorize a new computer for purchased items.  But I need to figure out how to get my iphone to transfer to this new computer

The iPhone and iTunes are designed to sync music only one way, from the computer to the iPhone. If you are trying to copy music from the iPhone to the computer, it won't. If you have authorized the computer in iTunes with your Apple ID, you can transfer any purchases made with iTunes to the new computer. If you have a backup of your iTunes music library, you can copy that to the new computer.
You have found that if you connect the iPhone to the computer an attempt to sync, it is warning you that you will lose all data currently on the phone and replace it with what is on the computer. If you backup the phone before trying to sync, it will help, but you would not be able to sync data that is not contained in the backup. You will need to sync your calendar/contacts to a supported application on the computer before attempting to sync the phone. You can get those to move over from the phone if you put in a unique calendar appointment and contact that does not exist on the phone. It will then generate a "merge" prompt to merge the contacts on the computer and iPhone to merge. Otherwise, the new computer becomes the one you sync with once you sync it the first time.

  • HT4528 How do I transfer the photos from my iPhone 4S to my Windows 7 computer or any other system that can hold 2,500 photos?

Basically, I took a ton of pictures at past concerts, formal events, etc. So I need something to transfer all of those pictures onto. I currently have 9.1 GB of photos in my iPhone which really limits me on phone space. I would like to save these photos, they are very important to me. Also, I tried this before on my Windows 7 computer but it only downloaded 850-some pictures. I figured that was from the space left on the computer, but I'm not sure. If you could help you will be my favorite.

I doubt it was space left on the computer, unless you have space problems. You would use the Import feature in Windows 7. You can also try accessing it in Windows Explorer, open the device, open the folder and drag the photos over. Because you have so many, you may run into some difficulty, because the photos should be imported regularly in case something happens to the phone. That many photos also probably makes it difficult to backup, or at least take a long time to do it.
