Af:panelPage facets not working

I'm using ADF Faces EA11 and I'm having trouble with several of the facets on af:panelPage. None of infoReturn, infoStatus, and infoFootnote render at all.
Is this a bug, or a known limitation of the early access release? Is there some trick to making them render?
Thanks,
Larry.

Thanks - I was relying on the data at this URL:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/tagdoc/core/imageIndex.html
And I didn't notice that it had changed to documenting EA12.
I should have relied on the internal documentation instead of the on-line doc.
I'll look at updating to EA12.
Thanks again.

    I am using menu2 facet to put menuBar in a Panelpage.Now i would like to put links to my static pages on that menuBar by using commandLink component.
    I declared help page as globalHelp in the navigation rules of config file.
    And for the Help command link i had given globalHelp as action property.But while i am running the project that link is not working..........So what might be the problem????????????

    Frank,
    I appreciarte your response
    i worked in that way means created a bean class for the Help.jspx.And in that method i had return "help" as String message(action).N binding that to action property of the command link.Still it is not working.......
    Do i need to take commandButton and set action listner for that????????I don't think so becouse we r getting link to Help.jsps which is static page ...right?
    U can help me......

  • CommandLinks and CommandButtons in Datatable do not work

    I have read the threads about this issue and am aware of the fact that there is a problem, if the backing bean is in request scope. However, my backing bean is in session scope and it still does not work - my action methods are never called. What's more, I have another backing bean in session scope, where it works perfectly and I cannot see any difference between them.
    Here's the code, my backing bean is dms:
    <h:form rendered="#{dms.documents.rowCount > 0}">
    <h:dataTable rowClasses="..." headerClass="..." value="#{dms.documents}"
    columnClasses="..." var="item" border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0">
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText>DocName</h:outputText>
    </f:facet>
    <h:commandLink action="#{dms.test}" value="#{item.docName}"/>
    </h:column>
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header"/>
    <h:commandButton id="foo" value="View" action="#{dms.test}"/>
    </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>
    <h:commandLink action="#{dms.test}" value="Clickme"/>
    </h:form>
    Here is the code in the backing bean:
    public String test() {
    System.out.println("Hooray");
    return "mainPage";
    And this in faces-config.xml:
    <managed-bean>
    <managed-bean-name>dms</managed-bean-name>
    <managed-bean-class>com.mypackage.DmsController</managed-bean-class>
    <managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
    </managed-bean>
    Only the last link, the one outside the datatable and titled "Clickme", works. I can see "Hooray" in the logfile and am redirected to the main page. If I click any of the links or buttons in the datatable, nothing is written to the log and the same page is loaded again, but only the static content is displayed, i.e. no JSF tags are evaluated, they are just dropped. There are, however, a few hidden input fields called javax.faces.ViewState, which I don't know where they are coming from.
    As I said, I have another backing bean in session scope, which is modelled exactly like that and it works there. Maybe JSF apps are supposed to have only one controller?
    Many thanks in advance for any pointers,
    Ulrich
    Edit: It doesn't change anything if I put the backing bean in application scope. I did have the same problem before with my other backing bean, but could solve it there by putting it from request scope to session scope.

    <h:dataTable value="#{dms.documents}">How do you load this list? This list should not be null during the INVOKE_APPLICATION phase.
    Try stubbing the List right in the getDocuments() method and see if it works.

    1) Please use code tags in the future. Lengthy, unformatted code isn't likely to read be most people here who are trying to help you for free.
    2) Next time, please use a short, compilable example that demonstrates your problem. Again, that is a lot of code to expect a volunteer to debug.
    3) This does not appear to be a Swing question. Perhaps you should have posted this in one of the web-based forums.
    Good luck.

  • Client Listner is not working in jsff

    Hi All Experts,
    I have one requirement , for that i need to generate runtime table (getting coloumns and rows count at runtime). It is working and for that i am using arrayList to implement.
    I need to capture the changed values of textboxes which are that table , so i am using ClientListner And ServerListner
    my code is
    jsff code is
    <af:inputText value="#{party.value}" accessKey="#{tid.index}" id="id12" clientComponent="true" >
    <af:clientAttribute value="#{partyCount.index}" name="partyindex"/>
    <af:clientAttribute value="#{tid.index}" name="billcodeindex"/>
    <af:clientListener method="testFunc" type="valueChange"/>
    <af:serverListener type="testBBFunc" method="#{pageFlowScope.CaseMgmtBean.testBBFunc}"/>
    </af:inputText>
    and javascript code is
    function testFunc(event) {
    pindex= event.getSource().getProperty("partyindex");
    billindex=event.getSource().getProperty("billcodeindex");
    AdfCustomEvent.queue(event.getSource(),"testBBFunc",{newval:event.getNewValue(),billcodeindex:(billindex-1),partyindex:pindex},false);
    but i dont know why it is not calling the listners ,
    Please help

  • Af:clientlistener not working in af:column header

    Hi I am using jdeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 and my browser is IE 8.
    i have added client listener property in af:column to show the tooltip message on 'mouseover' action. This property is working fine If i am using inside the af:inputDate components. but, same clientlistenr is not working inside the table in column.
    the Working Code is : -
    <af:resource type="javascript" >
    function showPopupFromAction(actionEvent)
    actionEvent.cancel();
    var eventSource = actionEvent.getSource();
    var popup = eventSource.findComponent("popup");
    popup.show({align:AdfRichPopup.ALIGN_AFTER_START, alignId:eventSource.getClientId()});
    </af:resource>
    in client listener method is called in below componemnts:-
    <af:inputDate value="#{bindings.dateField.inputValue}"
    autoSubmit="true" columns="8"
    inlineStyle="padding-left:10px" partialTriggers="afDtId"
    required="#{bindings.dateField.hints.mandatory}"
    shortDesc="Searches the dateField" id="afDtId"
    binding="#{pageFlowScope.commonBean.afDtBind}"
    valueChangeListener="#{pageFlowScope.commonBean.valueChangeOfdateField}">
    <f:validator binding="#{bindings.dateField.validator}"/>
    <af:convertDateTime pattern="#{bindings.dateField.format}"/>
    <af:clientListener type="mouseOver" method="showPopupFromAction"/>
    </af:inputDate>
    But, Inside the column not working,
    <af:column sortProperty="dateField" sortable="true"
    headerText="dateField" width="85px"
    id="c2">
    <af:inputDate value="#{row.bindings.dateField.inputValue == null ? 'N/A' : row.bindings.dateField.inputValue}" readOnly="true"
    label="#{bindings.commonListTable.hints.dateField.label}"

    <af:clientListener type="mouseOver" method="showPopupFromAction"/>
    </af:inputDate>

    And Table property is :

    For defining a tooltip message on af:column, you can use the below code:
    In the header facet of af:column add an output text with value same as column header Text. Provide the tooltip message in the shortDesc property.
    <af:column sortProperty="EmployeeId" sortable="true"
                     headerText="#{bindings.Employees.hints.EmployeeId.label}"
                     id="c4" shortDesc="Employees">
            <af:outputText id="ot5" text="#{row.EmployeeId}">
            </af:outputText >
            <f:facet name="header">
              <af:outputText value="EmployeeId" id="ot12" shortDesc="Employee"/>
            </f:facet>
          </af:column>Hope it helps.

  • Help: commandLink does not work.

    commandLink does not work. It just simple refreshes the page, and not enter the Listener,( he listener work pretty well in other page).
    Is it dataTable problem? If I not use dataTable but just use JSTL & JSF commandLink and it works fine.

    Hi,
    I was casually reading your code and noticed the line:'
    <h:commandLink action="#{Action.action}" styleClass="link">
    I recall from other posts that if you want the method on the bean (of the clicked/ selected row) to be called, you probably need:
    <h:commandLink action="#{attribute.action}" styleClass="link">
    Ofcourse you would need to have a method called action in the class of instance "attribute". This method should return string for navigation etc.
    Looking at your code again:
    <h:commandLink action="#{Action.action}" styleClass="link">
    <f:actionListener type="my.AttributeListener"/>
    <h:outputText value="Delete"/>
    <f:param name="ID" value="#{attribute.attributeId}"/>
    <f:attribute name="COMMAND" value="deleteAttribute"/>
    </h:commandLink>
    I don't understand why you need:
    <f:actionListener type="my.AttributeListener"/>
    As I am not coding a lot of JSF I am only answering from what I have read.
    All the best,
    Vinay

  • Accesskey not working in af:meu

    I am using ADF 11g and it seems that accesskey is not working in af:menu. Although, it is working in commandMenuItem.

    For defining a tooltip message on af:column, you can use the below code:
    In the header facet of af:column add an output text with value same as column header Text. Provide the tooltip message in the shortDesc property.
    <af:column sortProperty="EmployeeId" sortable="true"
                     headerText="#{bindings.Employees.hints.EmployeeId.label}"
                     id="c4" shortDesc="Employees">
            <af:outputText id="ot5" text="#{row.EmployeeId}">
            </af:outputText >
            <f:facet name="header">
              <af:outputText value="EmployeeId" id="ot12" shortDesc="Employee"/>
            </f:facet>
          </af:column>Hope it helps.
