After embeding the background, Cant see Text on top

Question

Hello,
I embed the background with an image and now I want to show
some text and some link bar on top. I am unable to see anything on
top of the background image. Please help.
Here is my code.

If you are using Flex builder then from the Design view click
on the background to see its properties in the right pane. Then
select Alphabetical View to see all the properties. There you
should see the backgroundImage.
