After purchasing Itunes Match I can not find my previous music saved on my iphone4

I can not locate my previously saved music anywhere I've turned Itunes match off/on and I can not find any of my old playlist or songs?

iTunes never mentioned the fact that if you purchase ITunes Match you can not take advantage of some other applications, such as Ecoute, which I purchased and love. ITunes will not delete ITune Match, as I prefer Ecoute. There is no written statement that ITunes Match negates several other Apps, and after writing to them about this problem, I received a negative and nasty reply.

You have to delete the DRM copies from your library first.

You can use iTunes, connect iPod Touch to computer iTunes.
Select iPod Touch in iTunes under DEVICES (left panel)
Select Books tab (right panel near the top)
Deselect those books that you have read
Click Sync button (bottom right)
Have a read to get up to speed using iPod Touch

Are you looking in the Videos app? iMovie on the iPad? The Photos App? I don't use iMovie but those are the three places where you should look.

not sure, what exactly the description should tell me, but I guess, that your scenario is like this:
- you captured some RnR backup
- made some changes to the system
- restored the backup
and now the changes, that you have mde afte the backup was captured are gone.
If this is your case, then this is a correct situation.
The backup will restore the whole system back to the stage, as you selected, while it will remove/modify the packages, that have been changed/created after the time, when the backup was captured.
In the stage, where you have restored the system, you had the chance to save some files, but as it looks, this did not happened.
Please correct me if I understod it wrongly.

You would load some of your music on the phone right away to have it handy without an internet connection, then have the option to access other music via wifi or 3G.

If you have bought a second-hand iPhone and the previous owner has locked it, only he can unlock it as indicated in the Help page you came here from. If you cannot contact him you will be unable to use the phone; there is no way round this.

After implementing iTunes Match I can't make updates or watch my movies bc of error message "you do not have write access".

I have checked that I have both read and write permissions on literally every single folder on my computer. I quadruple-checked actually.
From looking through forums it seems a lot of people are having this problem with the only suggestion being to fix permissions. Anyone have any other suggestions? I just want to be able to watch the movies I paid for!!

Could you give us a little more information? Where are your movies stored? On your iMac? How are you trying to watch them, through iTunes? Have you tried to watch them with Match turned off?
Just to be clear, iTunes Match does not accept movies for uploading, only music files. It will give you access to music videos you've purchased through iTunes though.

Without iTunes match you can download previously purchased items whenever you want, they are not stored in iCloud, they are local. With iTunes Match you can download practically everything that is in iTunes, Match files are stored in the cloud but are not part of the storage (5G) in iCloud. You can delete iTunes Match files from the local machine and they will still be available to play.
This would be exactly the same if you did not have iCloud, they are not connected.

I can't find a previously purchased ringtone. I went to go and buy it again but it says that I have bought it before. I am using a different computer than what I normally use. But should it not have been in purchases and should I not have been able to redownload it? Where can I find it? thanks in advance.

Ringtones (and audiobooks) are currently a one-time only download from the store, so they won't appear in the Purchased link for re-downloading. If you don't have it in the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library, nor on a backup, then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
