After updating to Yosemite, headers and footers no longer visible.
After updating to Yosemite, all of my headers and footers have moved to the back layer, hidden by images and graphics. How do I move them back to the front so they are on top of images and graphics? This has affected all of my old documents where headers and footers used to be visible atop images. In addition, new documents also keep headers and footers all the way to the back layer, so they do not appear on top of images or graphics. Is there a way to fix this?
Other 'machine' would be my iPad (first edition), but I am not acctually trying to connect at the time......it also applies to my address book and iphoto etc. I keep getting messages that pop up on my screen everytime I am on the computer, asking for the password. Guess I am experiencing problems all 'icloud' . This is getting to be a major irritation.
Thanks

Scrubbing no longer works after updating to Yosemite
After updating to Yosemite yesterday and restarting this morning, I've noticed several problems. The biggest is that scrubbing in the timeline is very buggy, unresponsive, and sometimes doesn't work at all. I've tried turning it off and on, restarting FCP and my mac to no avail.
Also switching between tools via keyboard shortcuts and the playhead moving between edits have been sluggish as well. Library is stored on a thunderbolt connected RAID
FCP v 10.1.3 Yosemite v10.10 Mac Pro Processor: 3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 Ram: 16GB GPU: AMD FirePro D500Permissions issues from the new account?
My impression, from my own experience and paying attention to other users' issues, is that 10.1.3 running on 10.10 is generally the fastest, most stable combination since the application was first introduced. This weekend I did a full days work on a couple of unfamiliar systems, new iMacs with shared storage, over two dozen projects, and I encountered no glitches whatsoever.
So that's why I was interested in your media drive and whether there might be something in your user account that the OS or FCP was struggling with.
Here is a kind of check list that Richard Taylor compiled. Why not go through it to see whether you discover a remedy.

After a recent update I've been having problems printing off the web. My headers and footers are always "gibberish" and in some case so is the body of the document. I never had this problem before and I've been using Firefox for years. This same printer (Canon MX 850) worked fine until recently. Any ideas?

while trying to access my local network I get the message..."The page could not be opened because server cannot be found." This, after updating to Yosemite and paying (again) for the server app.
It's absolutley scandalous that a company with Apple's resources can let this happen. They should have staggered the release by region rather than opening the flood gates. The upgrade itself took me about 10 attempts to download it, and then I thought I was home free. That was until it rebooted and won't activate. It's over 2 hours now.
Scandalous! -
On two different occasions after updating to Yosemite this has happened. On the first occasion I had two documents open in Microsoft Word and after looking something up on Safari, attempted to go back to the two open documents. Microsoft Word was showing as open, but the documents were nowhere to be seen and I also could open nothing else and was forced to force quit without saving my work on those documents.
A similar thing occurred today with Safari. I had many tabs open in one window in Safari. I closed my laptop to move to another room, and upon opening my laptop again Safari was still open, but all my tabs of different research papers I had were gone. When I chose the "reopen all windows from last session" option, it reopened windows I had not had open for many days, and not the ones I had been working off that day.
This is extremely annoying and as a scientist, I was forced to once again look up the many papers I needed for a grant proposal that I had not yet copied down reference information for. Why is this happening?I see you have used Clean My Mac. If you search these forums you will find that running apps like this can cause problems. Start with this link:

After updating to Yosemite, I updated iPhoto. Alert said to convert my library to new iPhoto. Then alert said I needed to repair permissions. Then a freeze. Then iPhoto won't find and show my library. How do I fix this? I can see the library icon on my external drive, but it doesn't show as a library in iPhoto. When I double click on the icon, nothing happens. When I choose it from alternate menu, doesn't open. Where do I get help?
Peter
Do you have a back up? What version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

My problem is after updating to Yosemite does my mail client any longer. I can not even open the mail, and when I "forced closes" mail and try to open it again to go in the entered settings running the colored wheels around and allows me only to forcing close again? does anyone have a solution to the above problem?
You mean the default OS X mail app? Try reinstalling OS X Yosemite if that's the case.
If you are referring to 3rd party mail applications, that's a compatibility issue. Some apps don't work in the new operating system. You have to wait until the developer updates the app, or you have to revert back to Mavericks to continue using it. -
Hello....after updating to Yosemite my mail isn't working . Keeps saying can't connect to exchange server and asking for password
I am having this exact same problem with my gmail account. Hopefully someone will have a remedy.

Photoshop brush lags and stops after updating to Yosemite
After updating to Yosemite whenever I am using brush or the eraser tool it stops or lags (I am not sure what to call it).
What happens is I can't hit any other shortcuts keys like "[ ]" for increasing the brush size and even changing tools like pressing "V" but if I click the icon it will be picked.
I checked the history panel it also stops there.
I am using
Wacom Bamboo CTH-670
Wireless keyboard
Wireless Mouse
iMac (21.5-inch, Mid2010)
I also did these things
- Reinstalled photoshop and driver of Wacom
- If I use mouse it works okay
- Because mouse is okay I thought maybe it is my wacom but used the brush in Lightroom it works perfectly there
- Using the clone stamp tool like a brush it works perfectly.
What should I do now?Are you running CS6? if so, go to Menus, shortcuts, Lasso tool, or Photoshop stop working when using a Wacom tablet | Mac OS
and install the white window workaround plug-in. Let us know if this clears up the issue -
I have looked for a way to adjust the page margins for printing, but can't find it. I have found where to adjust what prints in the header and the footer. When I print, the headers and footers are so close to the edge, and sometimes half off the page edge at the top and the bottom, that I can't really read them. This didn't happen in the past. Maybe this has changed since the last update - I'm not sure. Is there a way that I can fix this, so that my headers and footers are readable?
Thanks.Someone else reported this sound last September, but there wasn't any resolution to that thread: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/938003 After upgrading to Snow Leopard on my Mac, Firefox makes typewriter or paper crinkling sounds when going to links and sites].
Does it seem to be at all related to whether pages use Flash? Just wondering whether it is some kind of notification sound related to Flash's capabilities of using the webcam and microphone. -
Netflix Streaming on MacMini does not work after update to Yosemite
Netflix videos will no longer stream :
I am using a MacMini (late 2012) with an HP w2207h display. Intel processor 2.5 GHz Core !5 Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MG After updating to Yosemite, 10.10.1, I cannot stream videos from the Netflix site.
All of the monitor specs. would indicate that streaming videos in HDCP would be possible. Everything streamed very well until approximately 4 days ago.
I have changed the display resolution to 1080p. I have disconnected the monitor and reconnected it several times. I have updated iTunes as well as Yosemite.Have you went to NetFlix's support site?

"Headers and Footers" error message
Often when I'm in a topic and double-click on a template to
open it and get some standard text, I get a dialog box called
"Headers and Footers" which scolds me about "This topic was created
from a template and the header and footer has been modified." There
are two options: "Apply this modification to al topics created from
the template" and "Apply this modification to this topic only.
Note: Choosing this option will remove the link to the template."
Weird this is, neither my topics nor my template have a header or
footer. Did long ago, but I deleted it. Is this a common buggy
error, or perhaps something residual from a header/footer of long
ago? Thx, EricHi MunchMan and welcome to our community
Normally, we use Templates to create Headers and Footers and
apply them to a group or all topics. Naturally, if RoboHelp HTML
thinks you have modified a Header or a Footer inside of a topic
attached to a template, it is giving you the option of updating all
topics with the template attached or disassociating from the
existing template and basically "orphaning" the topic from any
templates.
I'm not sure I'd classify it as a bug. More along the lines
of "working as designed" or "expected behavior".

Cannot download Iphoto after updated to Yosemite
I cannot update Iphoto anymore after updated to Yosemite. The system popped up a small window and showed that: update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. But it is my own account, I just changed the password.
Please help me to solve this problem. That means, that your AppleID is not associated with the iPhoto version you have installed.
Which version of iPhoto do you currently have? Sign into the App Store with your Apple ID (in the Store" menu).
If iPhoto came preinstalled on your Mac, check the "Purchases" tab of the App Store, if there is an "Accept" button besides iPhoto. If yes, accept iPhoto to associate it with your Apple ID. Then try again to update.
If that does not work, uninstall iPhoto - move the iPhoto app from the Applications folder to the Trash and then go to the "Featured" tab of the App Store, search for iPhoto using the Search field, then press the "Get" button to install iPhoto again, this time with your current AppleID: -
After update to Yosemite 10.10.3 the iPhoto program icon is banned and there is an error message that an update is required to run iPhoto, but the application store shows a message that iPhoto does not have any update available at this time. There is not even any iPhoto program available on the application store. Any suggestion on how to solve this annoyance?

Unfortunately, Apple has removed both iPhoto and Aperture from the Mac App Store so they cannot be downloaded anymore. This means you are forced to migrate to Photos (included in OS X 10.10.3) or, if this app does not include features you need, look for a different app.
Not true. Apple has removed both Apps from App Store so you cannot buy them anymore. But if you have any of these Apps already purchased in the past, then you can still download them on your Mac.

Open App Store, sign in with your Apple ID and go to Purchases tab. If you see iPhoto app listed there close down the App Store and do this steps as this is what worked for me:
Open Finder and go to Applications folder.
Locate iPhoto app
Drag iPhoto app from your Applications folder to Trash (NOTE: Do not emptied Trash yet)
Open App Store app and navigate to Purchases tab.
Click on Install button which is next to the iPhoto app (on the right hand side).
Once iPhoto is downloaded again, test it if its working for you. If all is ok, you can remove your Trash.
